I've carried the LCPII for over 10 years using the stock Ruger pocket carry holster, and I absolutely LOVE it. I'd replace this LCPII with another one if I ever needed a new one LOL. Inexpensive, fun and EASY to accurately shoot. LOVE IT. The Ruger pocket carry holster is excellent at concealing in your pocket as well.
I discovered a DIY method to prevent gun printing in a pocket. Get a piece of "Granny Grating", a plastic mesh found in fabric shops that is used for embroidering. Carefully cut out a square with scissors to fit inside your pocket. Be sure not to leave any rough edges. Round the edges a bit. Put the mesh in your carry pocket. When you insert your mouse gun, insure the mesh in the pocket is facing away from the body, not next to it. The mesh is light-weight, and prevents the outline of the pistol from printing. Looks like you have just a smartphone in your pocket. I sewed the corners of my Ruger LCP II holster to a mesh square. The mesh helps keep the gun and holster from tipping forward in my pocket.
Holy moly I didn't even know the underwear holster was a thing that in my opinion seems like the best one because I'm active and sometime dont wear pants with pockets and sometimes wear shirts that make it too easy to print
I went with a Remora with an Ulticlip. It has a sweat shield, so it works even walking all day. I do love the LCP II vs the LCP, the trigger and sights make it much better.
I have many handguns and for the past 4 years was carrying a Glock 42. I have always carried OWB at my 4 0’ clock. I realized with just a t-shirt I was printing pretty obvious. I began carrying the LCP II about 4 months ago and tried a Blackhawk I had nearly identical to your Uncle Mike’s. I tried appendix carry for shits and giggles which I had swore I’d never do. I absolutely love it and I’ll never go back. It is so comfortable I often don’t even realize I’m carrying except for the fact that I carry from the moment I get dressed in the morning till the moment I crawl into bed at night. I have excellent trigger discipline so I’m not worried about shooting my junk off and my draw from appendix is super fast! Even faster than my strong side. The LCPII is so perfectly sized I may never switch back to my G42 for EDC.
I have been using the DeSantis pocket holster now for a while for my LCP2 and have found it to be my favorite. Sure, there could be improvements made I.E. Some way to make it breathable. It's very comfortable and once you figure out how to re-holster; (it's not difficult) it just works great. I wear jeans mostly if that helps. Be safe.
Currently I'm using an Alabama Pocket Holster (kydex) for my LCP 2, it's a good holster but it does print the grip a little bit unless I'm wearing loose fitting pants. A few days ago I ordered a 2 sided Recluse Pocket Holster. (leather). I think the Recluse will take care of the printing issue. For my Shield 9mm I'm using a Vedder Light Tuck, and I like it a lot. They have great customer service, too.
I have a comfortTac ankle holster with the added strap above the holster. I can wear it all day and forget I have it on. It is for the Ruger 380. Works great.
I've been carrying concealed for forty five years and I wish we had kydex holsters back then. I use kydex OWB and IWB holsters now almost exclusively. The holsters from Vedder are good and so are the holsters from Concealment Express. Most of the others seem to be over engineered to the point that it's difficult to even get them on when you're older and have a little arthritis just to remind you.
i agree im 27 and just started carrying i have a lcp 2 7 round clip 6 round clip and a concealment express iwb kydex holster as my main and i use the spare ruger holster as a pocket holster sometimes
Home Depot carries a small pack about the same size as a Sneaky Pete which is vinyl and zips up. Brand name is "Husky" Cost around $10.00 and is perfect for OWB carry. Great for riding motorcycle. Will fit up to and including a G42. Great video, thanks.
I love my Vedder holsters and Cobra Gun Belt. Their quality and customer service is as good as it gets. If possible I’ll choose them every time. Thanks for the great video!
Besides working as a pocket holster, the Sticky holster also works well as a friction retention inside the waistband holster. As long as you're not doing summersaults or parkour antics, it stays put.
Sticky for me is the way to go for me. I have one for a few different firearms including LCPll and Shield 9. I don't use them as pocket holsters. They stay put between pants/shorts and my briefs. Bending over, hiking, jumping, etc.
I just traded for a lcp2 that came with the ruger pocket holster. I love how this just hides away in the pocket. I’ll be looking at Vedder soon for iwb holster. But I’d like to get a good pocket holster that stays put on the draw. Nice video
The pocket holster that comes with the LCP2 is not sticky enough. You pull the pistol out fast and it comes out with the pistol. Then you have to take an extra scond or two to get the holster off the pistol and bring the pistol on the target. DeSantis makes two pocket holsters; the Nemesis and the Superfly. The Superfly is a lot more expensive, but a lot stickier. That's the pocket holster to get.
Thanks! This video reminds me that next time at the range I shouldn't just blast magazine after magazine without drawing from the pocket - I could have gotten 30 or 40 practice rounds off from the pocket draw but didn't - I guess I just get embarrassed doing the "dirty harry" thing...
I recall a cop stating he only drew his piece two or three times in his career !! Never expect to need my LCP since I avoid bad areas and situational awareness goes a long way. However, I will be hiking and biking remote areas during my retirement. It matters not if a threat has 2 legs or 4 legs. The only difference being human vermin may get a verbal warning to keep their distance.
I love the G42 but it’s size is a hindrance, the LCP2 is perfect for the days you want to carry for that off chance someone might want to do harm to me or someone I’m with. I then have my G43, 26 and my go to war gun my G19. I’ve found that having the right tool with you can fix most problems. Remember not every problem (nail) needs a hammer.
If you do not mind a little bulk and someone seeing it thenna Condor gadget pouch will hold an LCP 2, spare mags and some other things. Not a quickdraw carry because you have to unzip it for access, but it holds the LCP 2 22lr ok. Two molle straps lets you snap it onto a belt. If someone sees the pouch it doesn't look like a holster. Fine to use in rural or semi-rural areas, but urban might get some odd looks.
Ian Jones Unless you have poor trigger discipline it’s a non issue. I always said the same thing, but it is far and above the most comfortable way to carry a gun. I’ll never go back to 4 0’clock carry again. Much faster draw also. Can’t even feel it with the seatbelt on. I too was dead set against it for years, but not anymore.
First of all great video thanks for showing so many options. Mind you I'm no computer wizard here but if there was a way that you could include a list of web sites at the end for contacting the different manufactures would be great thanks . Again thanks for the information.
Excellent review: Question, which WRB Stick on Holster did you buy for the Ruger LCP II? The list of holsters on their web site did not list one for the Ruger LCP II. Thanks in advance.
I've a box full of holsters i bought for my P3AT, you know it as the .380 kel-tec auto, or the gun ruger copied totally. It was protecting my pocket for 10 years before ruger stole it after the patent expired.
I find the Uncle Mikes fits my LCP 2 380 in my right pocket with enough room to fit and reach for my iPhone 8 Plus. 1 couch for that holster. Also cost me about $12 at Atwood’s.
Good video, although I prefer owb, for most guns that I carry, if interested in owb leather, de santis makes the criss-cross, works very well for when you are driving
great video,I still cant decide tho, still using the ruger that came with it,sometimes the whole holster comes out with the gun! LOL,I like the leather and actually like the fanny pack thingy your wife uses, most times like you i put my holstered gun in front mesh pocket of my backpack, then just put it in my pocket when going inside or just carry my backpack in too,you cant even tell the guns in there.
Why should women be the only smart people to carry their "stuff" in a bag? If you EDC (Every Day Carry), putting your everyday stuff in a bag just makes too much sense.
I could never recommend Uncle Mike's nylon IWB holsters, especially for small guns, not enough retention and I have had one pistol fall out of the holster.
I have a Blackhawk that is nearly identical. I carry my LCPII right side appendix daily for the past 4 months. I run with it. Work with it. Drive with it. Not once has it come lose on me. Super comfortable too. Just make sure the plastic clip is over your belt. I love mine.
I just bought a new in box Ruger LCP 380 and it came with the same pocket holster that the LCP 2 comes with. I also have the Uncle Mikes size 1 holster but in my opinion he LCP fits a bit too loose with it.
Have you looked into Stealth Gear? Every holster is handmade in the USA for your specific model. Many styles and can get them with or without a mag holster. I have five of their holsters (EMP, Sigx3. Glock). Just picked up the LCP2 so I'll be getting a sixth.
I cant Carrie on the waist, appendix or 4 or 5 o clock, its uncomfortable (while driving) and living in NY I want my handgun in the exact same place when I leave the house as it is when I get back without moving it once I'm in the car, sooner or later someone will see you with it and you will have a cop come up behind you! When I bought my Ruger .380 lcp, I picked up the Uncle Mike's pocket holster, I was going to order a DeSantis nemesis if it wasn't going to work for me (and it didn't) so I tried the pocket holster that came with it & to my surprise it worked perfectly?
Weapons without an external thumb safety should be carried in holster that is hard enough to guarantee that the trigger can never depressed....kydex is really the best option...holsters should also never collapse, they are extremely dangerous for reholstering
Tried to find the LCP II N8 Tactical holsters that are form fit specifically to the LCP II and I wasn't able to find them. Not sure if they make them anymore.
I've had my Ruger LCP II for over a year and the best holster is the Fobus paddle. Inside the pocket the holster that comes with it is sufficient but the Allen spider works better. The Flap holsters works very good. The We the people IWB tends to ride up and out when you sit and the various strap retention's, belt, and shoulder I find the strap gets in the way of a draw, currently there is no paddle with a positive retention for the Ruger.
Fact I'd like to get a few more of those gun locks those things ears multi uses for him besides a gun and I love them damn things as I can get me those as I can get my hands on
I like the looks of the Galco Tuck and go. The product description does not indcate that it fits the LCP ll but only the LCP....... Are you sure that the LCP ll will fit? I don't want to order and then it not fit...... Nice video BTW
What about an Apache Ankle Holster? I use that for my Bodyguard 380. Will the Ruger LCP II .22 fit that? Desantis does have an LCP II option on their drop down menu.
Check out Concealment express. Best Kydex holsters on the market. There is a reason I have four of them. 25 years of LE experience and 28 years Military experience. I carry every day. I will never use nylon or leather again for belt carry. Nylon is fine for a pocket holster.
Like I said I found a good use for those gun locks you say you'll never use them I use them for when my granddaughter comes over to lock up my coverage and stuff when my four-year-old granddaughter comes over and she'll never get a hold of my gun because it's always on me
You are a natural......GoatMumbler! Good stuff! I'm debating on a LCP II purchase as the snappiness of the gun is holding me back. I have a taurus Spectrum that shoots pretty flat. What are your thoughts on the way this little ruger shoots?
Its very very snappy, but more like a mule kick. Stick with your Tuarus. Easy to grip and looks slick. If your hands cant hold the size of the gun then you wont ever carry or shot it.
Looks like you've painted your LCP 2 front sight, I've done the same and it makes a big difference. I use the Uncle Mikes number 10 for my LCP2 (next size down from the one you show). It fits the LCP 2 like a glove. Do you know of a Mag pouch that fits these tiny little magazines well? I haven't found one yet. Great Video, thank you sir!
I have the de Santis and have had the mag release pressed multiple times now. The clip is no longer engaged when I pull the gun out of the holder. I assume all the soft holsters will be the same, so I’m looking for Kydex that will cover the mag release, but I bought this for pocket carry. I’ve stopped carry this for this reason and went back to IWB with glock 26. Disappointed for now.
Bitty little pistols like this and the Smith & Wesson Bodyguard are actually sized just about right to be slipped in a coin pocket as if it were a holster in some jeans Just to be on the safe side I would put one of those clips like Techna clip or clipdraw on it if I were going to do that
I have a crimson trace LTG-778 on my LCP II and I got a custom kydex pocket holster made thru Gold Star Holsters for it. I kept having an issue where certain movements would activate the flashlight in my pocket and kill the battery with the soft holsters. Doesn't happen with the kydex
Thank you for the video. I appreciate that you mentioned your wife's holsters. I have a few questions about her UnderTech Undercover holster. Would you mind asking your wife how often she has to change hers? Does she have to change it out during runs (I'm assuming not), or does she change out the holster every other day? Also, how tall is your wife? Does she wear the holster normally, or with adjustments? I appreciate your video!
DeSantis has a new model nemesis 7F for the Custom and II that covers the trigger guard. I made the mistake of purchasing the original LCP G3 model which does not.
Took my LCP 2 to the range yesterday. That thing is such a sweet shooter for as small as it is. It ate everything I fed it.
I just use the holster that came with my LCP 2. Because once I start buying holster for a gun I can't stop buying more.
whitesoxbob sooooooo true. Lol.
Holsters are like potato chips.
I resemble that remark! LOL!
That's what I needed to hear since I'm looking at holsters for one. Keep it simple with what it came with makes sense
@@tombell1906 I found the Superfly by DeSantis to be much better. I got it on Amazon for about $30.

Check out Concealment express. Best Kydex holsters on the market. There is a reason I have four of them. 25 years of LE experience and 28 years Military experience. I carry every day. I will never use nylon or leather again for belt carry. Nylon is fine for a pocket holster.
Check out Tustler. great holsters.
Thanks Glock23fan!
Holster that Ruger gives you with a gun when you buy it I'm wearing my basketball shorts I use that holds real good the waistband packet about my hip
Bitty little pistols like this and the Smith & Wesson Bodyguard are actually sized just about right to be slipped in a coin pocket as if it were a holster in some jeans
Just to be on the safe side I would put one of those clips like Techna clip or clipdraw on it if I were going to do that
I have a crimson trace LTG-778 on my LCP II and I got a custom kydex pocket holster made thru Gold Star Holsters for it. I kept having an issue where certain movements would activate the flashlight in my pocket and kill the battery with the soft holsters. Doesn't happen with the kydex
I made the best pocket holster out of an eyeglass case from the dollar store. Works great. I have a video on my channel if you are interested.
Where can I purchase the kydex holster you were talking about?
I carry my LCP 2 OWB in a Sneaky Pete holster. Looks like I'm carrying an iPhone 8.
Have you tried a gun mounted pocket clip?
What size Uncle Mikes holster for Rugar LCP 22lr Waistband clip on like in the video? Thx!
can't seem to find one for LCP II with underbarrel laser. Any recommendations? I have a DeSantis but that is a pocket holster and I want an OWB.
Great vid! Thank you!!
Attach the kydex to the Natesq backing
Great video
I want that vedder holster
Vedder pocket holster is badass too
Do you carry the LCP II with one in the chamber? Had any issues?
Do you always keep one in the chamber when you conceal it?
I don't, this gun has no real safety.
Charles Ritter Then that makes no sense to conceal it without it being ready.
