    Great! I'm lucky to find this way to take out the plate. I used ratchet but not pry bar. Other videos just remove it so easily and I look myself stupid. lol

    Best video on here! WORKED! Fast and informational. Husband wouldn't wait to soak it. Took him an hour to untangle the ratchet strap. Used some pencils in a rubber band. Walmart is 3 minute drive.Yall made my day!

    Great idea with the strap. Worked for me without ratcheting. Thanks!

    I attempted this. I’m pretty strong and could not lift the plate off with the strap underneath. I am mechanically inclined, I was frustrated and called it a day. The next morning, my wife put vinegar and boiling water on it. The plate just lifted up. It hadn’t been cleaned since we bought it 8-9 years ago. Needless to say, work smarter, not harder.

    Great idea! I only soaked it with WD40 and it came loose after soaking for several hours. I was almost lost on how to get it off but got lucky with that WD40.

      I would of just fill it up and leave vinegar or use CLR for a couple of hours?

    I would have thought a mechanical puller would do the job. The pullers are used to pull a steering wheel off the spline shaft or pull the thrust bearing from input shaft! I wonder if anyone has used this method l have mentioned

    Got a wire hanger and hooked it into two of the three holes and pulled as hard as I could, feels like it didn't move an inch. Might have to do this, I'm losing patience

    I had a coin stuck in there that I was able to get out with pliers. When that got stuck, do you think it could have caused permanent damage?

    • @sterlingreed1363
      @sterlingreed1363  Рік тому

      Besides scratching the wash plate. I don’t think the coin would damage anything important.

      @@sterlingreed1363 Thank you so much for your fast reply. I ran a load with just a couple of towels and could see the wash plate agitating the clothes, so I think I'm good. I couldn't see that happening with a full load.

      yeeeeeeey about time.. it comes off. i used similar to your idea but used a wood to pull the side rope, then on the middle of the supporting wood I roped ratchet while both side rope are aligned, like a --C shape, then start tightening ratchet rope, finally comes off like no sweat. Could have thought if it yesterday,. :)

    DON'T DO THIS! TRY MY METHOD INSTEAD!! I watched a TON of these videos and only 1 worked. I felt dumb after trying all the tools and straps. Just take off the plastic cap. Remove the bolt. Pour in some bleach and set it on 'Tub Clean'. I canceled the cycle at 0:50 and the washplate was there floating in the water. Stupid easy. The tub will drain automatically after a while or you can just close the lid and let it complete the cycle. I felt silly after trying to manhandle the washer! (Note: I'm 5'2" petite female and probably wouldn't have been able to muscle that thing off anyways.)

      This idea of using bleach really did work! We tried so many suggestions - I didn’t think bleach would work, so I tried a washing machine cleaner cube thing thinking that it needed the minerals dissolved more than a disinfectant. That didn’t get the plate out but got a lot of gunk. Then my husband told me to try the bleach suggestion. The plate just started floating in the wash cycle with about 27 minutes left (before rinse cycle).

      My Samsung washer has this agitator plate thing too. I can't for the life of me get it off. I tried otherhow-too video's, and they say to stick a screw driver in one of the three holes under the cap and just pull up... but when I do that I feel like the screw driver is gonna snap or I'm going to break something. It's difficult and definitely a poor design.

    Not a good method as all the pressure is on the outside. You'll end up bending the hole thing. But that doesn't matter as you'll have to replace the entire part any way.
    I have a good removing the bolt and running the machine with water and some bleach. Movement pushes it out.
