    I was worried that the chisel method would be rough on the motor. So first I tried CLR in the Clean Tub cycle, no help. Then tried a gear puller, but the hook bent. Finally I used a chisel, but prior, I used a hack saw to score 3 grooves in the top where I planned to chisel. Thanks for your video, you showed exactly what I needed to see.

    Thanks for the video - I needed to replace this and it only took me 15mins to replace as the cap was different to here but another video helped.... I felt very accomplished having being able to do this myself rather than pay $$$ to replace the agitator .... thanks again

    Thank you! Your chisel idea was the only thing that would get mine out! About an hour worth of work but finally broke it off.

    Thank you for the video. I had to do the same thing you did. I had to chisel the plastic off the center of the pulsator and then chisel the metal part off also. I put the new pulsator on and its working like a charm now. It took me about an hour to do this. My LG washer is 10 yrs old now. Hopefully, it will last a couple of more years.

    Use a Dremel to pre-cut, then bang away. What a hassle to remove that metal gear so the new part fits. But it works, and the only solution we found.

    I didn’t se your video until after the fact, but I used the same technique you used to remove two pennies out of our LG this morning. I told my household to CHECK THE POCKETS of all pants going into our washer. It was frustrating to say the least and I was concerned about any damage that may have occurred. But all loads ran afterwards were nice and quiet. BTW, the pennies were completely smooth on both sides....lol! Thanks for sharing your video. I am sure it will help others with this dilemma.

    Usually you would replace parts just to replace them for the video but this one was actually stripped and worn out and actually needed to be replaced

    June 12, 2020 - I made a simple mistake that made me think I ordered the wrong pulsator plate because the spline hole was so small on the new part. My old plate was free spinning. Okay, I pulled off the old pulsator plate and the motor spline was huge - about the size of a quarter. WRONG! I missed something. The pulsator plate has a metal insert that goes on the motor spline. Well, it came out of the old pulsator plate when I pulled that off and the insert was stuck on the motor spline, making appear like a larger spline. Once I freed the insert off of the motor spline, guess what? Yeah, the new plate fit perfectly over the motor spline. Hope this helps someone.

    I removed the agitator plate and it appears the tooth drive shaft has sheared off. Is it possible to easily replace the drive shaft?

    Instead of a hammer and chisel. I was able to add a little CLR and put on tub clean cycle. With the middle bolt gone and the water in the tub the pulsator plate just floated up.

      Same here. Tried taking that agitator out every which way bending some parts more than I wish I did. Then gave up and used tub clean cycle without the cap or bolt hoping some water would seep through. Was pleasantly surprised to find the agitator free as a bird during the cycle. May want to stop it midway as I did - not sure what would have happened if the spin cycle started with that thing loose…

    Good video. Some subtitles would also help as I had a very hard time understanding half of what the man was saying. I know the point is watching the video, but subtitles also help those who don't have a good ear for thick foreign accents. Thank you.

    Good video, but what issue would require this part to be replaced? Is the connection to the shaft worn out, so it is not turning?

    • @staind288
      @staind288 2 роки тому

      Yes. The splines on the wash plate wear out. Also, you can clean under it as so it doesn't smell like a sewage treatment plant

      The splines on the washplate are plastic and they tend to wear out,they this in case anything gets snagged it will just wear out the plastic spline

    Great video! Thank you.
    My Pulsator plate keeps coming off. Both the teeth of the splines and the shaft still seem sharp and intact.
    I removed the pulsator cap, and put the plate back on. I used a socket wrench to tighten the pulsator bolt. It was snug, but didn't want to over tighten it and break the plastic assembly. I then replaced the cap.
    The following wash cycle, the pulsator plate came loose again.
    Any ideas why this is happening? Should I be ordering a whole new Pulsator assembly?
    Thanks in advance!

    My pulsator/washplate is significantly stuck to the drive shaft!!! Can I use WD-40 or olive oil or similar to get it loose? I've tapped and pried... Obviously, I don't want to introduce clothes staining, but cannot get it out (without damaging the pulsator, I fear).

    • @appliancepartspros
      @appliancepartspros  5 місяців тому

      If you have removed the screw and the pulsator is still stuck you can try some rust buster on it. If that doesn't work you can try slipping a belt underneath the plate and see if you can get it out that way. If that doesn't work then you can use the chisel method shown in the video.

      I was able to use a couple of small allen wrenches obstetrician in the drain holes on opposite sides close to the outer edge. I used pliers to grab the allen wrenches and pulled one side then the other several times. In doing this i was able to"walk" off the part. I want easy and took some time but it popped off.

    DON'T DO WHAT HE DID TO GET THE WASHPLATE OFF! IT'LL DAMAGE YOUR WASHER.
    TRY MY METHOD INSTEAD!! I watched a TON of these videos and only 1 worked. I felt dumb after trying all the tools and straps. Just take off the plastic cap. Remove the bolt. Pour in some bleach and set it on 'Tub Clean'. I canceled the cycle at 0:50 and the washplate was there floating in the water. Stupid easy. The tub will drain automatically after a while or you can just close the lid and let it complete the cycle. I felt silly after trying to manhandle the washer! (Note: I'm 5'2" petite female and probably wouldn't have been able to muscle that thing off anyways.)
