I was just about ready to give up and get a new washer, but stumbled across this, you described everything perfectly & in detail..I was losing the will to live the amount of times I opened that filter & flooded my kitchen 🤦♀️😂 to find a sock was stuck in that pump 😬 Thank you so, so much!! shared to family & friends.
Great video for how to get to the pump. Mine tested fine with a volt meter but i had already ordered one and surprise surprise, installed the new one anyway and issue resolved. Price of a pump and those spring pliers, £32 off amazon v price of a new machine. Its videos like this that give the normal DIYer the confidence to try sort these things and save a fortune. Top guy.

UPDATE: This video was so easy to follow, although the steps took way longer to perform than in the video, lol. It took me almost a half hour to get the lid off (I had to pry it off as it was just stuck) and I have a blister on my hand now as a result... ugh... But to the point, there was absolutely NOTHING in the pump filter at all! NOTHING! But it's now working just fine and I can open and close the pump filter. It would have been so irritating to have paid a repair guy to come out and do what took me a few hours, and pay a couple of hundred dollars to unclog nothing! Thank you again for the video! Love the great quick paced detail. I watched several other LG DIY pump replacement videos and had to play them at 1.5 speed as they talk way too slow. I'm fine with pausing and rewinding when I'm using the videos without having to waste time on slow talking. BTW, my pump is fine but I cannot open the filter so it looks like I will have to take the whole dang front off to do this anyway. The only alternative videos I've seen (which I'm not going to even attempt) are tipping the machine on its back. Thank you for your video. I'm going to get to this today and will come back and edit my comment once I'm done.

Great to find you . I would like to toss in an idea which many Like me over looked when my Dishwasher was not draining or emptiying the water. I took it apart...Checked all the things that could go wrong...Had an Engineer look at it...Everything was in working order..Confused and Fustrated...I took the drainage ie waste pipe from under the sink apart and found a Far Burger blocking the flow. A 40mm solid piece Fat blocking the drainage...So check you Drains before going down the road of timely repairs...Great Channel
Hi mate, thanks a lot for your comment and yes you are right. Fat residue, or any kind of fluff, can sometimes block the waste pipe and restrict drainage.
When you have a fat blockage, this is usually caused by not having the waste hose correctly installed onto the spout coming off the U bend under the sink. it is important to ensure that the hose is pointing upwards at the end of the spout. I see this a lot, where the hose is either pointing downwards or going straight along. The result is that the dirty dishwater from the sink will run into the hose and make it's way into the washer. This is a common cause of a) smelly machines and b) no drain because the fat in your dirty dishwater, congeals in the hose. I have had to pour boiling water into these hoses to dislodge the fat many times. I suggest you check how your drain hose is sitting because if you don't have it going upwards, this will happen again.
My F14U2TDN0 from 2017 has no visible impeller behind the filter, just a narrower tube section going a few cm towards the back of the machine. The machine has the recirculating feature which might explain the different arrangement. It would be great if you could post a video showing this kind of system. My machine got into state with intermittent OEs. The filter was blocked at first, but there were still problems after clearing it. I managed to coax it through a couple of tub clean cycles (draining eventually after hitting play after OE), and hopefully it is better now. Test cycle drains fine. This machine does its low speed test rotations at 45rpm. Thanks for the great videos!
Excellent, crystal clear and very useful explanation! Saved a lot of my time. Already disassembled the pump and going to replace it - it rotated, but upon further checking I saw it rocking inside the body, which explains why it made a lot of noise and then stopped building pressure. Disassembled it just for fun to see what happened to it, it was full of water and all the bearings were shot. Donated.

Hi. Wonderful video! I got the same issue but I’m still dealing with it! I cleaned all the pipes/hoses, the DC pump is ok, no clogging. I tried the Test mode. Great tutorial video. The 10mm drain hose was blocked but all the other hoses and the filter were pretty clear. The drain hose was only blocked towards the bleed end so I surmise this would not interfere with the draining of the machine because the bleed nipple is in effect a blockage, so it left me with the pump. The pump harness is proving continuity but the pump is giving me an ohms reading of around 175. I take it the ohms reading to be expected around 158 would suggest the pump reading 175 is an error. Can you say this would be a reasonable conclusion?

Hi! My LG WM2355CG had an IE error code! I’m draining the drain hose pipe on the bottom left of the machine but I’ve emptied out over 4 liters of water and it’s still coming out. Any idea what it can be?
If you are draining the pump drain hose, there can be a lot of water still left in the drum if the machine has not emptied you will need to continue doing this until the pipe becomes dry before you are able to access the filter. It's a pains taking job because you are only able to use a shallow tray to collect the water but it needs to be done otherwise you'll have a mess on the floor.
@@How-to-repair i’m actually lucky enough to have drawers under the washing machine so I’ve been emptying it out into a blender over 2L I’ve done about 6 of them before it was dry When I accessed the filter, there was no blockage. So I’m wondering how the IE error code correlates to a bunch of water needing to be drained out by the drain hose pipe?
I had my new LG washer/dryer combo this morning FWY706GBTN1 to replace my 2018 LG FH4U2TDN2s that I loved very much but limescale rotted my bearings seal and water got out started leaking out the back of the DD on to the element a electrical high pitched buzzing station before Christmas I had someone out to it two weeks ago and said I could pay 180 to have it stripped and fixed new bearing and seal. I decided to get a brand new one as old lg was 2nd hand 3 years ago expected to last a little longer but these things happen 🙄 I got the new DC pump it’s so quiet and no more gargling and whooshing through the pipes very smooth I love it it’s even better than my old one which was brilliant until recently but hated that one thing about lg they always make loads of noise draining every single one of them lol But this new one is so quiet very similar to my old one but some things have changed for the better 👍🏻
Sir my LG washing machine top door some time not draining aftrr spinning and some time in drying even though i change water pumb but the problem still continue the same and some time code OE or 0E something like that i believe this problem not water bump could you please guid me what should I check or replace model # TR9103AEPF

First thing you want to do is make sure you have the correct voltage at the pump when it's on empty cycle you can also check the sump hose for blockages and make sure the waste pipe has no restrictions
Hi mate, I didn't remove the door seal just peeled it back to be able to remove the front panel. The main idea behind this was to reach the pump unit and sump hose to check if there are any obstructions like fluff, debris, coins etc.

@@How-to-repair i’m actually lucky enough to have drawers under the washing machine so I’ve been emptying it out into a blender over 2L
I’ve done about 6 of them before it was dry
When I accessed the filter, there was no blockage.
I decided to get a brand new one as old lg was 2nd hand 3 years ago expected to last a little longer but these things happen 🙄
I got the new DC pump it’s so quiet and no more gargling and whooshing through the pipes very smooth I love it it’s even better than my old one which was brilliant until recently but hated that one thing about lg they always make loads of noise draining every single one of them lol
But this new one is so quiet very similar to my old one but some things have changed for the better 👍🏻
Sir my LG washing machine top door some time not draining aftrr spinning and some time in drying even though i change water pumb but the problem still continue the same and some time code OE or 0E something like that i believe this problem not water bump could you please guid me what should I check or replace model # TR9103AEPF

thank you for this video 👍
I'm really pleased the video was helpful to you. Could you do me a favour and take part in a poll I've made about the lifespan of appliances? You just need to tick one of two boxes. It will only take about 10 seconds. This might help us improve how machines are made in the future.

Hello, good day, my LG machine refuses to drain even after changing the drain pump
First thing you want to do is make sure you have the correct voltage at the pump when it's on empty cycle you can also check the sump hose for blockages and make sure the waste pipe has no restrictions
@How-to-repair ok, sir, I will try it
Hello pls my washing machine turns on, but don't start
I wish I knew why you had to take the door seal off?
Hi mate, I didn't remove the door seal just peeled it back to be able to remove the front panel. The main idea behind this was to reach the pump unit and sump hose to check if there are any obstructions like fluff, debris, coins etc.
Amazing video.
Glad you think so mate👍 Since we work very hard in our warehouse making free video guides, you can always donate us via www.how-to-repair.com/help/buy-paul-a-beer/

@@How-to-repair hi you saved my lg washing machine. Replacing the two pumps fixed the oe problems. Your video saved me a lot of money. How can I donate to your company?
Crystal clear 👌
Step 1: Drain via the front tube...
What if no water comes out? Water comes out like a bat out of hell if I remove the drain filter next to it though.
Push that front watertube back inside a little bit, worked for me, it was a little bit crushed inside, blocked the water.
@@edakogel1797 To follow up, the issue was that there was sediment in the tube that had clogged it entirely. When I removed the pump I snaked the drain hose with a thin wire brush to clear it up.
@@edakogel1797you are a legend, thanks
Thank you. 👍
