Wow! There is no way I’d be able to afford even 1/4 of those. Supplements are so expensive and I bet all of those are at least $30-40 and probably more and that is each, not all together. I’m retired and hubby is a retired teacher. My hubby even started working at a coin shop where he makes minimum wage. I do get fiber in the different bran products I include in my diet and try to eat a balanced diet. So hopefully I’ll get what I need that way. It’s too bad a person has to be at least reasonably well off financially to afford all of those that you talk about in this video.
Hi! I have used your suggestion of vit d and mag increase. It has helped in a huge way. ❤️ I’d like to point that out because there are probably quite a few viewers who find all of your recommends here unaffordable. I would love to have everything but it isn’t possible at this time. However, if someone can get the magnesium and vit D and maybe the omega they can experience a GREAT change. It has taken a few months but my anxiety levels have completely dropped and as soon as I started with magnesium my sleep became much better. I do walking type cardio and get into zone 2, lift 1 time per week and I’m a pilates professional. My point is do what you can and what is accessible. Eat clean(ish) and move. Thanks Dr😊
The anxiety at night is real. I always thought it was due to my profession (I’m sure that plays a role), but it’s heart palpitating, wake up ever two hours kind of anxiety. I just started HRT last week and I’m starting to sleep better
Take Magnesium Glycinate at bedtime as well
@@sncnutrition7118 I do. I also have IBS so I have to be careful with the dosage or…you know. 😩 Thank you 🙏🏼
Definitely some of the potential symptoms of menopause! We are glad HRT is helping! XOXO Community Support Team
Dr. Claire,
I want to start incorporating collagen into my diet. Can the sparkle collagen you recommend be used if I have Hashimoto’s? I been reading mixed reviews.
Ok I have a dog that has seizures at night so I am very aware of him and his breathing at night but a few months ago When this started I woke up to what I THOUGHT was HIM having rapid heartbeat but it’s ME. He came over and starting pawing my face because he recognized I was in distress - never heard of this before now but the heart palpitations are scary real.
i am so happy i found Dr Haver to help guide through menopause.
Two of my most favorite women on YT!!! Thank you so much for having her on. Great interview!
Wow, I just found you. So looking forward to learning more. I am 63 woman (just had a full knees replacement) but I want to age gracefully and be very active so many people around me are sick (cancer, alzheimer’s) and I don’t want to aid in poor health
Can you provide any substitutes or alternatives for those of us who are not willing to spend a couple hundred bucks a month on supplements?
Dr I'm in love with you! 😍 It's amazing what are you doing for us women!
I'm 43yrs old so not in menopause yet (actually still hoping to be a mother) and would like to know if you have material or can refer me some about pregnancy at my age and how to prepare for menopause or I take same supplements already? Thank you! ❤
Maca powder, a combination of red, black and yellow, has completely got rid of my hot flashes and drastically reduced my headaches. I also feel like it gives me a bit of an energy boost.
what about the liver? it will not damage it?
I use very little so it should be fine. I didn’t even know there was a correlation but now I’ll be reading what I can about that.
@@tinaharker3518 thank you🙏
Is there a vegetarian option to collagen?
I am gonna try and get all of these. Thank you Dr. Haver MD ❤
I use the chocolate or vanilla collagen powder in my AM coffee.
For the drink where you mix all the powders how does it end up tasting?
Dr Haver-what about calcium. How many mg should women in their 50s take if they have osteopenia?
MaryClaire, besides the obvious hard-working, intelligent woman that you are, I love you have for you family has been an honor for me to be a part of. Thank you.
Soon I will be looking to be a part of your community. In the meanwhile, do you also have recommendations for skin and hair care treatments for those of us in menopause? 🦋
Dr. Haver uses Minoxidil for Men to help with hair growth and has other hair care products on her Amazon storefront. Link is in this video's description! XOXO Community Support Team
Vegan options?
How much do all these supplements cost?
Dr. Thank you for this video - It was Short, Sweet and Amazing! It was Great to see what you choose and Why and How you incorporate it into your day. Some of these I do but others I believe are a missing link. One question, I am newer to your channel so if you have stated this in another video, you can direct me there. I have heard it is good for us to have 10,000 in vitamin D. What are your thoughts on that please.
Dr. Haver always recommends that you have a blood test to determine your Vitamin D needs before you supplement and to speak with your healthcare provider. Many people are deficient though! XOXO Community Support Team
Can you link the supplements or give brand names please?
What time of day do you take your magnesium?
What is the turmeric supplement that you use.
I am waiting for Dr Bulsiewicz product 38Tera as an alternative to taking the Garden of Life Raw Probiotics. It also covers fibre.
Creatine has always caused terrible gastric distress. 🤢 💨 I don’t know why but when I take creatine I have the smelliest you-know-what and severe bloat. Is there a process that Thorne does better or a certain creatine that is more gentle?
I have tried taking creatine a few times and each time it gives me severe cramps. No matter how much water I drink. Anyone know what to do about this?
Thanks !!👍
You're so welcome! XOXO Community Support Team
It is my understanding that liquid collagen combined with hyaluronic acid, glucosamine and MSM are the best source of collagen for joint relief. Is this not the case, and why?
I was wondering if is not to much vitamin D n k2 n fish oil because 4 tablets a day is what it says?
Would you recommend taking Black Kohosh for hot flashes?
Dr Claire, what time of day do you take your Neuro-Mag? One of your videos you said that you take in the afternoon. I was taking it before bed.
I've tried two different brands of collagen and both gave me joint pain.
I am on 0.075% Estradiol patch . Can you take this creatine? No interaction??
Do you take the magnesium right before bed ?
Does Creatine increase DHT in women?
Hello 👋 I take the Garden of Life probiotic and I have no problem eating plain greek yogurt (fage lactose free) but sometimes I add frozen peaches, blueberries and chia seeds and I add 1 teaspoon of honey. Does the honey ruin the benefits of the probiotic strains? I so appreciate all your information. Thank you.
Honey should not be a problem in small amounts. XOXO Community Support Team
Is magnesium glycinate good? My creatinine levels are good so I don’t need that. I’ve been wanting to try Sparkle but I need to use up all my other stuff first.
This article may help you find the magnesium supplement that is right for you.

Dr. Haver likes Life Extensions Neuro-Mag, available on Amazon. You can find it in her Amazon Storefront here under supplements: www.amazon.com/shop/drmaryclairehaver

Dr Haver-are these powders unflavored? I need unflavored and want to add your fiber and the creatine. Thank you
Dr. Haver uses collagen and fiber that is flavored, but Sparkle Collagen does have an unflavored option. XOXO Community Support Team
Creatine caused my kidneys to malfunction
What do you think of nutrafol
Dr. Haver uses Minoxidil for Men and does not use Nutrafol. The kind she uses is on her Amazon storefront. Link is in this video's description-XOXO Community Support Team
I’m 62 is it too late to start HRT?
How much turmeric should we take?
You should follow the recommendations on the label, and speak with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns about dosage-XOXO Community Support Team
Hi. Do we need K2 if we're taking Vitamin D3 2000? Thank you.
I’ve learned from other doctors (Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Ben Lynch, Dr. Jolene Brighton, & Dr. Eric Berg) that you need to take Vitamin D with K2.
@msjen_nay Thank you for sharing. I follow Dr Berg and Dr. Hyman . I love Dr Berg. I also follow Dr Stephen Cabral. He's good. He will reply if you have a question and has podcasts with questions from people about so many things. I like that I can search and find an answer/help in his podcasts. 😊
@@amg92003 You’re so welcome! I’m so happy I could help! I have found both doctors so helpful in my journey for better health. I will have to check Stephen Cabral out. Thank you for the recommendation!
Is it necessary to take hormone replacement therapy even though I have little to no menopause symptoms? I heard menopausal women are at higher risk for disease due to the changes and loss in some hormones.
There can be benefits to HRT if started early enough even if you do not have menopause symptoms. We have many blogs on HRT and menopause on our website that you may find informative! Link is in this video's description-XOXO Community Support Team
I started at my early 39 HRT and already 2.5 years I develop hemangioma hepatic on the liver. And stoped directly. The gynecologist told me noone prescribes hrt anymore.
Can this be taken in am (if intermittent fasting)?
Or does it need to be taken after fast is broken?
You would want to take these when you break your fast. You can take the magnesium L-threonate in the evening to help with sleep! XOXO Community Support Team
@@maryclairehavermd8473 how much magnesium l-threonate is an optimal dose?
At 41 seconds into the video, you say, "I am at a cruciferous for osteoporosis." Could you please explain what this means?
She’s saying “increased risk”, but the voice to subtitles feature got it wrong.
Thank you for helping to clarify that...you are correct! XOXO Community Support Team
@@courtneynicole7265 thank you. I just about lost faith in everything I have learned from Dr. Haver over this one sentence.
I'm going to go off the cuff bc I don't think any of what I'm going to write is common knowledge. Collagen needs dietary copper to cross link the triple helixes. (Think beef liver, oysters, and random other foods like pistachios) No, you can't supplement copper as the supplements are not in the bio-available form. Copper needs vitamin-A to move around the body. (think retinol via cod liver oil or liver as the body can only process so much beta-carotene) Don't over eat beef liver bc you can poison yourself with vitamin-A. There's a reason nobody serves polar bear liver on the menu. The actual reason I logged in is to make sure you know creatine uptake into tissue is influenced by glucose and insulin. You need co-ingenstion of creatine with carbohydrates. (or fruits... weight lifters use to use grape juice when creatine first hit the market- you need the insulin response... protein will produce insulin but Its not enough) You'll also never find this in evidence backed studies, but the reason people get muscle cramps from creatine at night is bc they're supplementing with creatine pre-workout and their electrolytes are off. If you made it this far... look into post-workout prunes and dates. When combined their fructose to glucose ratios take advantage of glute transporters and your body will over compensate by storing more glycogen in your muscles. They also have dietary copper... Those glute transporters? are sodium dependent. As a women you should also look into Folic acid and how physicians are wrong. Women should be supplementing with methylfolate. Good Luck Doc.
Saving 😊
Should we be taking creatine even when not working out?
It is most beneficial when doing resistance training with the supplementation of creatine. XOXO Community Support Team
Kidney stone producers should be careful with collagen supplements.
Why is that? Please explain
@@RegisteredNurseL.A. It contains a type of amino acid that converts to oxalate. If you produce oxalate stones, it’s best to be careful.
@@hiya4691 Which amino acid is that?
@@RegisteredNurseL.A. I think you know. You’re a nurse, right?
There are 4 aminos that can convert to oxalate. I would not be concerned with that unless someone has a preexisting kidney condition.
You take everything I take except for the extra collegen.
