OMG, I cannot believe people are being so rude to someone with so much education that is just trying to help others. Perhaps it is because I've always been in the medical field, but I cannot believe people have no manners.
@@tennesseetexan281 Does that mean you move from Tennessee to Texas or the other way around? My son is in Austin but my twin brother is in Crossville, Tennessee where he is a nurse practitioner.
You are just brilliant and thank you for your dedication to women. I am a Harvard alum and have yet to find very few MDs who make the effort to seek the NEW information. Literally, you are SAVING women's health and lives. We are always the LAST the industry cares for. We must change this. BECAUSE of your advice, I have found an amazing Dr. who is a recent Cornell grad and agrees with all you have said. We have started my HRT this year and I have found major relief and feeling like myself again. I am diligent with healthy practices, taking progesterone + testosterone (and weight lifting) and watching my body morph back into STRENGTH from atrophy and fat growth. My gratitude overflows and I am sharing your profile far and wide. I am working on a women's group and podcast, and will bring your information to light! God bless you, Dr. Mary Claire Haver! Thank you for your dedication to women's health! xo
You are Amazing! Thank you for sharing. I'm really beginning to get angry with Men doctors who stereotype women and don't listen to what we have to say. Testosterone in the right dose will transform your life! But try to get a doctor to prescribe it makes you feel like your asking for a street drug. Shameful and disgusting!
HRT is not scary. It can save your life. What is scary is women confronting menopause with no help, even when the healthcare community has known for a long time that HRT is hugely beneficial and prevents a range of serious health conditions.
Yup. I looked up HRT and ALL that came up until I really dug was for transgender. So yes, if we were DUDES we would have no trouble at all getting female hormones. It’s inFURIATING
Taking HRT is twice as scary as smoking, you have a 15% chance of getting cancer if you’re a smoker, you have a 32% chance of getting breast or uterine cancer because of taking HRT.
@@MLM111That's awesome for you. Some of us don't want the cognitive decline that goes with the lack of estrogen, and want to do as much to ward off dementia as we possibly can.
Please I beg you, do not pay attention to these low life idiots in the comments…you’re a great person and I have so much respect for you. I have learnt a lot from you, do thank you so much.
Haven’t had a period in four years, hot flashes have finally almost gone. They started at 38yrs old, I’m now 52 and finally got hormone blood work. Results show all hormones , testosterone, and thyroid very low, and my nutrition is all over the place in an attempt to remedy a host of GI issues. I stayed away from HRT because I was afraid of the clotting and cancer risk. THANK YOU for opening my eyes.
Thank you for exposing Premarin! I’m a horse owner & share strong ethical objections to Premarin & the resulting unwanted foals that suffer & end up slaughtered, and the mares who are kept pregnant & stalled (so they can collect her urine) not allowed to move about & graze like a horse should. My gyn NP didn’t even know about Premarin, even though she’s prescribing it. Shocking.
That is horribly inhumane treatment of animal's..I feel for all animal's abuse. was put on Premarin at 55..I'm 68 now. On day 3 of taking it I was bleeding so profusely I went to the ER. The obgyn told me to keep taking it as the bleeding would stop. I never went back to her. I wasn't even aware of what HRT was and didn't ask for it...she never mentioned I could have blood clotting issues..just learned that here. I know I do have blood clotting issues now tho from having a tooth pulled and also having to go to the ER for bleeding profusely. I think now the obgyn and the dentist were both incompetent. I try to educate myself as much as possible now BEFORE I see a physician nowadays.
I knew what Premarin was which is pregnant mare urine. What I didn't know is what you just shared on how they get it. That is horrific! An animal should not be penned up snd trestded inhumanely.

I went to my doctor and because of the information you gave she finally put me on HRT and Estrogen Patch. To help with Hot flashes and poor sleep. I am 68
I have Epilepsy and perimenopause has been particularly challenging . A second Dr finally put me on an Estrogen patch and progesterone tablet. I'm hoping that after my hormones settle down so will my seizures.
I love the way you stayed calm at that derogatory comment. Well done. I'm so thankful for people like you providing facts. Doctors are so quick to disagree when you cannot explain yourself properly. 😊
I appreciate you sharing your up to date information with the rest of us! I am a nurse practitioner who works in psychiatry and the lack of treatment to women for multiple issues related to hormonal issues send helpless confused women to seek mental health care when sometimes HRT could make a huge difference… or at least help them understand why they are suffering and that they are not going crazy. More information is needed and more providers need to get training to care for women later in life. The knowledge gap is huge.
Yes thank you! Women's Health in this country is disgraceful and quite frankly my insurance doesn't even cover HRT. So many of the GYN's I've been to do not even believe in prescribing it either. I am chronically ill w several autoimmune diseases, osteoporosis and now b cell lymphonic leukemia. I often wonder if HRT would have helped me and avoided so much illness. Also have had chronic insomnia for years with no help from doctors.
Thank you for saying this! I dealt with depression, my whole life, but since I’ve been perimenopause, the depression seems worse than ever before, and the anxiety seems worse than ever before. It’s super frustrating.
The fact that men suffering from low T or sexual health problems are easily treated and insurance is much friendlier to men's needs in general is maddening beyond belief. The treatment gap goes right along with the research gap. It almost seems like society at large is fine with women suffering. When I started to transition into menopause I left my husband, then a few years later quit my job. I thought my life was over and even wished I'd die of some disease so I could eliminate the suffering. The drugs that were readily offered me were antidepressants of course. They are the answer to everything when it comes to women. Look no further, just give her some Paxil to numb her and shut her up.
Since the WHI study especially, I keep hearing/reading from MDs - including OBGYNs - that there is NO training in med school for treatment of menopause, something that half the population experiences. It is a travesty of health care. Women have to demand a change.
Thank you. I just started HRT a couple months ago. Game changer. I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. My sister suffered from hot flashes for 10 years. Hot flashes gone. I really wish more OBGYN were more informed about this.
About 3 weeks ago, my depression and anxiety symptoms were so severe with hot flashes and heart palpitation. My physician told me nobody is on HRT nowadays and that I should consult my psychiatrist. After a day I was on HRT 0.05 mg, I was pretty back to my normal. It is a live savers for me cause I was thinking about killing myself due to the unbearable mental symptoms.
So glad to have found this! I’am 59 years old and have been having hot flashes, insomnia, night sweats, for at least 10 years now, I’am going to do something about it now, the only thing worse than waiting 10 years is 10 years and one day. Thank you so much for explaining everything in plain English and taking away all the fear💜
I've tried to get doctors to listen to me. Told ravages of childbirth, play memory games. Its my shoes ext. Insisted on getting my vit D tested and was deficient now that I'm supplementing that my feet no longer cramp. It's sad so many in the medical field decide its all in our heads. I'm 58 now so glad I found this channel. Now there is hope.
Thank you so much for saying that about Premarin. Female horses standing in one place for hours and hours with a bag attached to collect the urine is unethical. Also, the horses are pregnant and the result is a foal. What happens to the foals? If they're lucky, they may get adopted, but most go to slaughter. The entire practice is horrific.
I love HRT! I’m 57, been using patches for a year along with the mirena IUD. No hot flashes, my skin is supple and I love the fact that I’m protecting myself from heart disease, osteoporosis and Alzheimer’s 🤩
Hello. Can you please tell me what your experience was with mirena IUD insertion? Was it painful, during and after the insertions? I've been postmenapausel for about 5 years and going to start HRT patches with iud. I'm nervous, I've read many women have horrifying stories about Iud insertion. Where you postmenopausel when you started hrt?
@@lourdeslayton332 hi! Yes I was 56 when I had it done and was post menopausal. Mine was difficult to insert because I had the uterine ablation about 10 years ago. It stops peri meno bleeding and creates scar tissue. It was difficult for my doctor because there was so much scar tissue. If you don’t have that, it shouldn’t be a problem. Tylenol before the procedure should help but it’s not really too bad. Afterward, I had a tiny amount of spotting and light cramps for a few hours. Not bad at all. Your other option could be a dual patch- containing both estrogen and progesterone. Ask your doctor which would be best for you. I love the fact that my HRT is preventing the scary diseases of menopause. I’m so glad I got Menopause Barbie’s education early!
Hi thank you much! I got my iud and started 0.05 estradial transdermal patches twice week. I'm a little confuse on when I should be changing the second patch so that I'm getting the daily dosage of 0.05. Right now I'm doing Friday and Mondays at 8am on both days. But I was told I should do one 4 days and the other 3 dsys...so it would first patch on Monday and second on Thursdays. What I'm still confused about is if I should be changing the patch at the same time (8am) on both days or should I be a different time for the second patch? I just want to make sure that I'm getting the minimal daily dosage for preventing the 3 big decease from estrogen deficiency. Hope you can help! Thank you!!

Ma’am. THANK YOU for this video. I have a few of my patients that I suspect need HRT, but I’m one that was hesitant because it just seemed intimidating. But your video and several other sources have been SO helpful in shedding light on this and I look forward to offering the patients that need HRT the option. Thank you!
I wish I would have discovered you five years ago when I started having horrible peri-menopause symptoms. My doctor put me on anti-depressants. After getting off the anti-depressant because of all the weight gain, I started HRT and I feel so much better! Sleeping better and feel more motivated in my daily life.
Thank you for providing the details so we can speak to our doctors confidently. I’m 53 and I was just told by my female OB/GYN that hot flashes were the only indication for HRT. She grudgingly prescribed estradiol patches and oral progesterone, but I’m still considering finding another doc who’s more supportive. My hot flashes have been minimal. My other symptoms include depression, anxiety, brain fog, vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, increased weight around my middle, increased cholesterol, and probably a few more I’m forgetting. I knew I was in perimenopause at 43 and went full meno at 49.
Same here! I am over it! I advocate for my quality of life and will be going to another doctor once my doctor decides she doesn't want to prescribe it anymore! I am 51 years young and full-blown post-menopausal. It happened at 47. I refuse to live the rest of my years in misery ❤
I started BHRT 3 months ago and it’s fabulous! No more hot flashes , night sweats and my joint pain is gone… and I had no idea menopause and joint pain is related.. who knew… thank you !!! I was fearful to start because of the old SWAN study and the old WHI studies that created fear regarding hormone replacement. You and Dominique Sachse (channel ) helped clear those outcomes results. You and her changed my life since starting BHRT. Thank you!!!
I just started HRT. Estradiol patch at 0.05mg weekly along with progesterone 100mg daily. We’ll see how it goes. So far my breasts stopped being sore. Rite Aid had it. $10 for each
If you ever get down and sad because some people are so ignorant and rude to you , just know you are making a huge difference in many many women’s lives. You did in mine . So while there will always be the rude critics, there are more who love and appreciate you !!
Thank you so much for all of your videos. I just started HRT yesterday (at 49) as a result of the information you provide. Fortunately, my physician was very supportive. As it turns out, he’s a big proponent of HRT for peri and menopausal women, so no arm twisting was required. :)

Started hrt about 2 years ago because I was having hot flashes about every 5 to 15 mins, literally felt like I was losing my mind. Im been very afraid of these pills causing cancer and I am so very THANKFUL I started seeing your videos! I was considering trying to stop the pills and TRY to deal with the hot flashes again but not anymore!!! Thank you!!
This is truly the BEST VIDEO on HRT and all the most popular questions surrounding it that I have seen thus far! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I just started HRT for (inexplicable) abdominal weight gain since menopause (nothing in my life otherwise could explain it!), thinning hair, peeling nails, mood swings, low energy levels, joint pain, worsening sleep and brain fog. Praying for relief from all of these menopause symptoms and made sure to get myself a "menopause-friendly" doctor. Thank you for all you do on these social media platforms!!!!!!
So glad I found you! I have been ignoring HRT for fear as well! I started menopause at 55, no hot flashes, mild night sweats only , but anxiety and depression. I now have osteporosis and knee pains, oh and painful sex. I am going to talk about getting on HRT in 3 days, I can't wait! I am 58 now. I want my life back.
I love her content so much! Testosterone may not be important to menopause but it is a major hormone that we need, that is often ignored. If your doctors are checking only your progesterone and estradiol, they are wrong for that. My progesterone and estradiol were fine for many years but I was sick for a couple years because I stopped making testosterone and no one would test it! If you have damaged ovaries, your body is likely to shut down testosterone production. It makes us very sick. This is scientifically documented information. It happens often with women whose ovaries are damaged from endometriosis. Do not let your physician look only at P and E.
Dr Haver, I recently found your channel. I too am a 53 yr old mom that is suffering through menopause. I had a hysterectomy in 2020 due to fibroids & severe heavy bleeding. The information u disseminate is arming me with information to take to my Dr - it’s also helpful to understand the correlation of cancer(s) & HRT. Thank u for the work you’re doing on social media!
Through watching you it pushed me harder to get my hrt. I finally got my hrt a few days ago after trying for 10 years. I'm 60. Vagifem 10 inserts, Progesterone 100mg and estrogen gel waiting on that one to be delivered. Thank you so much.
I am seeing a new doctor today about HRT. I never thought about this until recently. My friend/gym trainer was diagnosed with osteoporosis. So we both have been discussing our health as a female and investigating the use of HRT. Thank you for sharing your wealth of information. I’m so thankful I can find that it won’t be all downhill. I’m a healthy 60yr old and wanting to stay that way or even get to feel better as I age. 😊
I can't thank you enough for this valuable information and educating us. I have Kaiser and after 2 years .5 appts with different Drs who were giving me the run around and hesitant. This Dr finally prescribed estradiol patch and progesterone pill. !!! I'm so excited to finally feel my 52 year old self.!! I'm very grateful to you !!!
I use the pellets and progesterone tablets. Besides the cocktail of female hormones, we also get a small bit of Testosterone which pre-menopausal women make which helps with energy. I've lost weight just because I had energy to exercise. My skin looks younger too. I hadn't slept an 8 hour stretch of time in more than a decade. But with the hormonal therapy, I sleep the entire night. The cost isn't that bad. Costs me out of pocket $400 every 3-4 months. That's less than the daily price of a Starbucks coffee. The bloodwork is covered by insurance. I'm so glad I did it.
Did u find any loss of strength? Im peri and have lil weakness and specialists cant figure out why! Im not on hrt yet but peri 3yrs when symptoms started
I get estrogen patch, progesterone pill and testosterone pellet . . . Out of pocket because Kaiser doesn’t manage this stuff . . . Cost $2400 a year plus bloodwork, which Kaiser won’t pay for either.
@@bambam6231973 I live in the Bay Area in California and get my hormones through them. Just went back to pellet for estrogen. New pellet insertion every 3 months. I use Jimpstart MD.
Is a short cycle that stops on a dime …then for a week and a half you spot… is that part of Hormone-loss/PERImenopause or a condition I need to see my OBGYN for?
Thanks for your routine you do. I do estradiol daily. Then every four months I insert progesterone in my vaginal every day for total of 5 days About 5-7 days I shed blood ..it’s a period just not very heavy like in my younger days. I’ll be 70 in December. I tried daily progesterone and it made me feel bloated, hot and sleepy. I drive full time so I don’t want to be sleepy during the day. I still work full time thanks to estradiol.😊
I just want to say a big, huge, thank you for making me feel so much better after having found your channel. I’ve just been diagnosed with factor v Leiden and both my haematologist & endocrinologist insist upon never embarking upon transdermal estradiol and that HRT will do nothing for my osteoporosis and they have left me in a state of anxiety and despair and make me feel like I’ve just been handed a death sentence. Thank god for people like you that can educate people like me that have doctors that are so ill informed. I can sleep a little better tonight. I really thank you. Your work is so important. I’m so grateful to you🙏
I’ve had a roller coaster couple of years with hormone replacement trials that resulted in lots of bleeding. I am so thankful for you because I want to learn more about what is happening in my own body. The docs don’t have time to educate us, they just hand you a scrip and you’re out the door. I feel like I need to gain knowledge to become my own health advocate. This is such a hard time of life and I feel so alone (we women need to get better at talking about this stuff!) . Thanks again, your content is amazing!!!
Make sure your physician keeps an eye on your bleeding. I had thickening of the uterine lining and bleeding (age 61, menopause age 55) which led to a hysteroscopy and D & C.
I'm glad I found your channel. I've been worried about hormones and the link to breast cancer, which runs in my family. I feel better about it now. I just started Estradiol transdetmal patch 0.05 I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago kept ovaries but definitely going thru menopause.. Thank you! 😊
Thank you so much for all of the amazing information! I’m 48 and went to my doctor a few months back to talk about peri menopause and she just gave me an anti depressant, ugh. I’m so disappointed with my doctor. I’m going back to see her and now I have all of this amazing info you have shared. Thank you so much and fingers crossed she listens to me.
We have to be out own doctor. We literally have to visit the GP with the facts , side effects, medication availability knowledge and what's best for us. I'm terribly disappointed with GPs.
I take the transdermal patch of estradiol and I am on the highest dose and I have been for five years. Full hysterectomy. Nothing has been left inside me. The doctor said since I’m having some breakthrough menopausal symptoms like hot flashes and not able to sleep as late as I normally have… They want to put me on oral estrogen and I do not have a uterus obviously… Love it, can’t wait to start trying the oral. The patch was a godsend and helps with libido immensely.
Great video and thank you so much for highlighting the animal cruelty associated with the manufacture of Premarin. I too will avoid Premarin for this reason alone. Thank you x
Just started Estradiol+Progesterone last night. I have had flashes and not able to sleep and high anxiety, low libido, hair thinning, you name it. I am hopeful that this will help. Keep you posted!

I take a multivitamin and yet my hair is falling out irritated extreme anxiety can't eat I am at a loss. So thank you for helping those of us who is struggling right now ❤❤
I have enjoyed and learned a lot from your videos. This particular video I viewed again yesterday and took notes before I had my annual exam with a new (to me) ob/gyn. I am 59 and menopause has been very difficult including server depression and no longer being able to keep up in my profession as an elementary Montessori teacher. The doctor flatly refused HRT, saying, among other things, that "We don't do HRT with women who've already been menopausal a few years." She also said that my family health history made it too risky. I have a maternal aunt who had breast cancer in her late 40's, she had a lumpectomy, no recurrence and she's chugging along in her 80's. My mother and my maternal grandfather both had heart disease; they were also both alcoholics, smoked like chimneys throughout their lives and were entirely sedentary. She said other things too, but you get the picture. I'm worried my insurance won't pay for me to see another ob/gyn. How do I find somebody who is more likely to be helpful?
I didn't know menopause is forever & ever. I watched Dr. Berg's videos on menopause symptoms & the (non SYNTHETIC, gmo free, ORGANIC 3rd party tested) vitamins he recommended stopped them. But he doesn't address HRT. Medical professionals are unaware of this topic matter. Thank you for your support & invaluable recommendations. I'm excited to share your information ❤🎉🎉❤
Oh my goodness. I had a DVT when I was 28 weeks pregnant. That was 14 years ago. And I have been told I cannot take HRT! I’m 52 and definitely need to discuss transdermal or gel/cream!!! So glad I found you! Thank you Chalene Johnson!!! ❤
Dr. Mary, you’ve advocated for all women and thank you. I live in Canada and asked for hormone replacement therapy but my doctor said I’m not a candidate. I am 54 and now experiencing hot flashes.
I realize this video is a year old but I just found you 24 hours ago and you have brought so much clarity, helping me understand HRT better. I have never had a good clear understanding of things and therefore never quite knew what questions I needed to ask my physician. After watching this video I went and grabbed my prescription for my HRT. I am 63 years old and my estrogen levels they have listed are; 80% estriol and 20% estradiol. I also have some progesterone and testosterone added but if I’m understanding you correctly my estrogen levels are backwards, no? Lord knows I will not be getting pregnant anytime soon.😅 I will be seeing my physician in April or May but wondering if I need to address this before then. Do I understand correctly my levels are wrong?
I went to a different practitioner than my usual one, an NP that said she belongs to "NAMS." When she noticed I was still on compounded HRT, she literally freaked out and told me to stop this immediately! I'm 60 and was thrown into menopause straight away from a very dramatic facial staph infection that shut down my thyroid and hormones at the age of 45. I was and still am a very athletic individual with no contraindications regarding the use of HRT. Started at 46, and it helped me out tremendously, especially the troche for atrophy of the vaginal wall. I'm 60 now....and I don't see myself stopping HRT. Anyway, I left this particular NP's office just filled with fear because of inaccurate information she was telling me regarding HRT. I wished we had more knowledgeable specialists like you, Dr. Haver.
Thank you for sharing this info! Because of you I talked my gyn doc into prescribing the combipatch yesterday! I’m almost 50 and haven’t had a period since the age of 43 so I’m pissed my gyn didn’t tell me about the benefits of HRT. She was hesitant and only prescribes for hot flashes. I guess she’s not up to date on menopause. I’ll take my prescription and run to someone better. 😀

I also went through early menopause and combipatch worked great for me. I had to switch to a different patch because my insurance stopped coverage of the combipatch. The cost went up from a very affordable monthly price to $300 a month !! Great medical system we have here.....
Gosh, in addition to a bad diet I have been lazy about using my estrogen cream. Thank you so much for EVERYTHING that you do!! Keep up the great work:)
I'm 74, quit having periods at 38 and, like you, refused Premarin for ethical reasons. Suzanne Summers touted the benefits of bioidentical, but it wasn't covered by insurance, and we didn't have a compounding pharmacy in my town. There were no other options at that time, so I just had to muscle through it and now have every symptom imaginable, with the exception of night sweats and hot flashes. I only found out about body-identical hormones last week and will see an endocrinologist next month to see if I might benefit from estrogen now. Women's health is still such a mystery. Any thoughts on the matter?
I also read Suzanne Somers info and found a bioidentical place near me-still insurance does not cover since 2007. I prefer topical creams to alleviate liver absorption. There’s heart risk for me. I’m a big believer in HRT!
Many doctors just don't know much about bioHRT, in my area. If you need a doctor that does....you could find a good local compounding pharmacy & ask for a list of doctors they work with who do prescribe bioHRT.
Thank you so much for your work in menopause . I have been using bio identical since I started menopause. It has been a life saver . I'm following you and have recommended you to my family members.
And the way the poor horses are treated is unconscionable. If you saw, interacted with these horses, your heart would break. DO NOT USE PREMARIN if you love animals.
Another life saving use for Estriodal is for vaginal itching due to dryness and thinning of the skin in the perineum. After spending so much money on different creams and not getting any relief a female resident at the clinic I go to prescribed it to be administered vaginally and after first night itching was gone, and also immediately helped with sleeplessness. Thank you, thank you dr for putting this information out. ❤
I'm 67 and have been on estrogen replacement since my TAHBSO at 35. I have done well for all this time, but suddenly at 65 my GP and insurance company are telling me I should stop. Can you speak to the advantages of HRT in POSTmenopausal women? Thank you!
Wow. Mind blown by your knowledge. Thank you for sharing ❤ the med est does not seem to care about the hormonal health of women even though all of our bodily functions seem to stem from our hormonal system. You are a beautiful person 😊
I just started HRT that I was able to get prescribed through an online women's health doctor service. You have a lot of good information in this video that I appreciate. It was direct and to the point! I appreciate that. Hopefully my hot flashes and sleep disturbances will start to decrease within a month. I was told it would take 4 months to see results. I think everyone is different so maybe the time range will be sooner for me. I hope so!
Yes, please share. I finally got some HRT after three doctors. Within two weeks my sleep score went from 24-74, night sweats are almost gone which is a miracle. Has both Estrogen and Progesterone. I’d like to continue to research. Thanks!
Ohhh thank you so much. I just found you through the Mel Robbins podcast. You made me cry, some of the things you’ve discussed I have not been able to find research or good research on. Heading to your website now.
I am 63 and have Sjogren's syndrome, so I use a lot oils and butters. Since coconut oil is also an antifungal/bacteria I often put it on after using Dove sensitive soap and before getting out of the shower. But I have also found that after patting dry if I use CeraVe then apply Aveno baby eczema cream, it helps immensely. It is not as messy as using a mixture of castor, vitamin E and coconut oils whilein the shower.
Check out Feminity by Sibu. I've been taking them for about 3 years and it can totally change the vulva cells and helps w mistress. I use pure Emu oil and rub it down there like I would a face moisturizer! It's amazing!
I am 52 and just now learning of this being safe and smart for me to do. I think you were on diary of a CEO and that’s where I first heard this crucial information for women. Thank you for your work and efforts to spread the education.
I wanted to share some information. I started Meloxicam last year for my hips and back. My hot flashes were out of control, weight gain and my sleep was all over the place, i would get maybe 3 hours . I took it upon myself to quit the meloxicam 2 months ago and my hot flashes are gone, I'm sleeping way better, my mood has improved so I am starting the galveston diet to help with weight loss. Just a thought if anyone else out there is suffering and you are on an anti inflammatory.
I know this was a year ago, but I watched you prior to having a full hysterectomy (with ovaries and cervix). My doctor is awesome and recommended the estradiol patch. Your educating me made it a no brainer. I am 51 and was not in menopause before my hysterectomy a week ago. I would have lost my mind w/o this patch. Thank you for educating women! Thank you for giving us this information! 🙏🏼
I am 49 and in Perimenopause. I have had the mental fog, joint pain, frozen shoulder, and anxiety and depression. I'm going to a new OB/GYN and will be asking for HRT. I have had the mirana IUD for 22 months so I hope adding the other components of HRT will help me to start feeling normal again. I also suffer from chronic inflammation.
I always appreciate all the wonderful info you provide. We desperately need it. In future videos on HRT could you spend more time on progesterone? There was about one minute on it. Could we have more info on dosages, risks, and side effects (I hear dizziness a lot, which is worrying)? Especially since it's oral and goes through the liver. Is that a problem? Reviews of progesterone I read on the web are all over the place. Thank you.
If you take the transdermal HRT patch Evorel Conti or Evorel Sequi, available in the UK under that name, the hormones oestrogen and progesterone don't go through the liver as it's topically applied into the skin. If you watch these videos in my link, all the answers to your questions are there. www.youtube.com/@MenopauseTaylor
You are the absolute truth!!!! I celebrate your "youth & longevity and for those of us that you have helped to have the same. A Beautiful Soul you are!
Aside from protecting the uterus, I’m on progesterone for the calming effect. Also, in Australia DHEA is a prescription only medicine and considered part of HRT.
Thank you for being an advocate for female humans AND horses. It’s absolutely terrifyingly horrendous what happens to pregnant mares to collect their urine. Omg. There are way better HRT options for us women.
First and foremost the knowledge you share is top notch! You’ve armed me with all the specifics on medication and knowledge of why, that I need to approach my OB/GYN for HR. I have an appointment. Second, you look particularly amazing in this video. The lighting is on point, and the background color scheme is aesthetically pleasing, and complementary to your skin. And your top. It’s secondary: as an artist who has studied why we are drawn to view XWZ, the aesthetically pleasing aspect of this video will attract, and keep viewers longer, spreading your information / knowledge ( and that Is your objective)
I feel so lucky to have found you! I'm not much into social media, but found this episode, read the 2022 NAMS paper and then re-watched to cultivate and channel your verbal skills in preparation to see my primary dr. here in a little NorCal town. Feeling triumpant! I got exactly what I asked for!!
There are several options, vaginal DHEA or vaginal estrogen- both can work great! No one should be suffering with these issues. There are androgen and estrogen receptors throughout our urinary and vaginal tissues, which is lack of them give us symptoms, and why replacing either can be helpful!
I had my ovaries removed (not hysterectomy) at age 44 due to breast cancer and family history of cancer. Now 62. I am always grateful for my health. My sister and mother died from cancer, and I was told I could not take HRT. Now listening to your amazing information… I feel hopeful. Could I, should I take HRT at 62. I would love to get my joyful brain back. I am super healthy, still same weight, eat amazingly healthy… and yet my brain has felt foggy for years. Either way, I am super happy for all the women who now have such a strong support in their court.
I am 72 and take estradiol. I had a complete hysterectomy at age 46. My doctor was a male and for many years I took estratest. After finally going to a lady doctor for four years she told me I did not need estratest and gave me estradiol. Without it I cannot sleep because of hot flashes every night. A gynecologist prescribes the estradiol to me. I had a general practitioner who refused to continue being my doctor because I choose to take HRT. I have another general practitioner now who will not prescribe HRT but refers me to my gynecologist for this and is ok with me taking it if my gynecologist says it is ok. Thank you!
Hi, I have just had a full hysterectomy at 52. I have been put on Estraddiol. Is that all we need, or do we need testosterone too....As without ovaries we don't produce any hormones now 🤔 I'm new to this & still suffering from all menopause symptoms, even having the patches. When I told my menopause nurse, she just said to double up the patches....
17:39 This is called Informed Consent which is lacking in USA. I have to research & ask all kinds of questions to my drs who mostly dont know (care). That is terrifying to me.
Thank you so much Dr. Mary, you are a god send. I have learned so much from both you and Dr. Susan. My own GP told me there was no one in Canada to help us transition through perimenopause and menopause and that unless we wanted to have children, we'd recieve no help. FYI, she was at least 15 years younger than me!! I'm 57 years old and am in perimenopause with symptoms escalating over the past year or two. I previously, apparently had PCOS diagnossed but didn't start menstruating until I was 35 and got accidentally pregnant. Now I just want all of this to stop as it is is really disrupting my life! I started taking the BCP but wanted to stop my periods completely so took it straight through. This didn't help. I then finally got referred back to an endocrinologist who said she could help manage it and added 100mg progesterone to also aid with my sleep. I am currently taking Alesse as a BCP. Still getting severe cramping as if I should be having a cycle. What do you think I should do? Continue on with a different BCP? Someone mentioned lo-estrin? I see my endocrinologist again on June 18th. Thanks again for your help!!
WOW! I've been on bio identical and never even knew much about it until listening to this video. You are awesome! I wonder if you do zoom doctor visits if people don't live in your area......
OMG, I cannot believe people are being so rude to someone with so much education that is just trying to help others. Perhaps it is because I've always been in the medical field, but I cannot believe people have no manners.
I don’t think she is real doctor because she is not well versed on the topic.
I agree but then wow she shows us how to handle that with grace and confidence!

Are you taking the testosterone pellet and are you taking any type of estrogen replacement?
@@1234salukitoo many female doctors are not keen on prescribing HRT, not just male doctors.
What about testosterone
I’m curious too about testosterone!!!
It IS scary when you take it and then get cancer...

Shocking.
This is sickening and sad poor horses and foals. So innocent.
Well, do you consume milk products of any kind. Same thing, just for food this time
I knew what Premarin was which is pregnant mare urine. What I didn't know is what you just shared on how they get it. That is horrific! An animal should not be penned up snd trestded inhumanely.

This is wonderful news. How long ago did you go into menopause? I'm also late 60s but am now 20 years out.
Wow!!! Fantastic. I can’t get anyone to do that and I am in my sixties.
What blood tests did you have before being put on HRT & Estrogen Patch? Thank you
I have Epilepsy and perimenopause has been particularly challenging .
Same well done
And YOU DO NOT HAVE RO EXPLAIN yourself to people that are disrespectful But so much class you have !! Made respect to you
I appreciate you sharing your up to date information with the rest of us!
Thank you. 😊
We are so happy that you found a solution and are feeling better now. Please always reach out for help if you are feeling that way again.

I had no idea this happened. How can we take steps to try to protest this practice

Thank you!!

I like the way That u handled the rude person that said that negative comment.. well done 👍
Dr. MC YOU DO NOT HAVE to explain yourself to the uneducated!!! Keep your wonderful, intelligent, information coming .
Hello Rosa. You mentioned Kaiser. Are you in Northern Cal? If you are please let me know what Dr you see
Omg, this was LIFE SAFER. You rock doctor!!!! 👏👏👏
How is the Testosterone delivered... is there a cream, oral, ect
@@EvelynSchmechtigCochranhi would love to know who you get this through
@@bambam6231973 I live in the Bay Area in California and get my hormones through them. Just went back to pellet for estrogen. New pellet insertion every 3 months. I use Jimpstart MD.
Love this Dr, she's so natural and human. Says it in lay man's term for us to understand 🙏
I'm 75 and have been on hrt since my early 50s. I totally love it. I use low dose estrogen & medroprogesterone for 6 days every 4 months.
Hmm..that's different. I will tell my girls. Everyone I know so fears HRT.
Can you tell me what 6 days does for you for three months please? I’m so curious. Thanks!
Is a short cycle that stops on a dime …then for a week and a half you spot… is that part of Hormone-loss/PERImenopause or a condition I need to see my OBGYN for?
@@wackyl5692I still have my uterus so that is why I take the medroprogesterone every 4 months for 6 days. At that time I do not take the estradiol.
We're so happy that it helps!
I’m going through this experiment too! Now I have to get a Ultrasound before she will switch my meds!!! Uugg
@@jillf24 that was my path, exactly!! Ugh. Sorry! It’s not fun.
Make sure your physician keeps an eye on your bleeding. I had thickening of the uterine lining and bleeding (age 61, menopause age 55) which led to a hysteroscopy and D & C.
Me too
I'm glad I found your channel.
This blog post may help to guide you in your conversation. galvestondiet.com/menopause-symptoms/5-tests-to-maximize-your-well-woman-exam-in-menopause/
We have to be out own doctor. We literally have to visit the GP with the facts , side effects, medication availability knowledge and what's best for us. I'm terribly disappointed with GPs.
I wouldn't go back. Clearly she doesn't have the info you need.. If possible look for a doc that specializes in your area of concern.
Thank you x
It blows my mind that she's concerned about animal cruelty, yet as an OBGYN, is a supporter of aborting babies.🤦♀️
@@ritakirkendoll1942 You cannot just assume that. This may be a procedure she refuses to do. Why don't you ask her to be absolutely sure?
Thank you Doctor. I just started HRT for so many menopause symptoms! The worst is the hot flashes. I pray this works.
How has it been
Just started Estradiol+Progesterone last night. I have had flashes and not able to sleep and high anxiety, low libido, hair thinning, you name it. I am hopeful that this will help. Keep you posted!
Any updates? I'm looking into getting into HRT as well
Are you doing the patch & what type of progesterone?
U don't notice til late in life but the worst of hormone loss at menopause is muscle and bone loss!.Because of my stupid dr.s, N.P.,s too, my bones are like 13 less.
How’s it going?
I have had a hysterectomy then gallbladder removed also have hypothyroidism, fatty liver,my Dr has me on levothyroxine and compound pill of estrogen and progesterone. I take a multivitamin and yet my hair is falling out irritated extreme anxiety can't eat I am at a loss. So thank you for helping those of us who is struggling right now ❤❤
Eucerin is a great cream to use right out of the shower. It takes a small amount and it really moisturizes.
He has multiple videos where he talks about it
He is not a dr!
Please watch these videos for a full education on menopause. www.youtube.com/@MenopauseTaylor
@@Laughter1724:01 He is a chiropractor.
If you're in the UK, Evorel Conti transdermal patch or Evorel Sequi patch don't go through the liver.
Thank you for the younger women in my family. ❤ Bless you.

If you need a doctor that does....you could find a good local compounding
pharmacy & ask for a list of doctors they work with who do prescribe bioHRT.
My thought is take anything but the kind made from the poor horses! Bio identical is b.s. They don't make it to match us.
I'm so grateful to have found you. How can I find a physician willing to prescribe HRT. I am 67 with osteoporosis thinning hair and no energy?
Dear Dr. Haver, thank you for all the amazing information. Your enlightens is priceless.
I hope so!
Where did you find your online doctor?
Yes, please share. I finally got some HRT after three doctors. Within two weeks my sleep score went from 24-74, night sweats are almost gone which is a miracle. Has both Estrogen and Progesterone. I’d like to continue to research. Thanks!
Yes please share I need to find someone too
Ohhh thank you so much.
In my earlier reply the word was supposed to be "moistness ". Not.mistress!
Thank u.
Thank YOU so very much. I am blown away by your life’s work! You are making me a master of my own health and body🎉🎉🎉
Now a life worth living❤🎉❤🎉!
I’m so glad you don’t prescribe Premarin. I did a talk on pregnant mare urine and it was disgusting and horrible what they do to those horses
I know this is like a Year old video but I'm so glad I found it today. 😊 THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge
QUESTION: What are the options for post menopausal women, especially for urinary/vaginal issues?
Thank you!
Wow. Such ignorance in health care is discouraging
Hi, I have just had a full hysterectomy at 52. I have been put on Estraddiol. Is that all we need, or do we need testosterone too....As without ovaries we don't produce any hormones now 🤔
I'm new to this & still suffering from all menopause symptoms, even having the patches. When I told my menopause nurse, she just said to double up the patches....
Omgosh, yes, the center of my back itchiness!!! I had no idea this is part of my menopause issues. Lord help us all.
17:39 This is called Informed Consent which is lacking in USA. I have to research & ask all kinds of questions to my drs who mostly dont know (care). That is terrifying to me.
Dr's today treat the test results not the patient.
I too am extremely frustrated.
Thank you for education and enjoying! You are literally saving lives!
