Great video man, TIL the actual difference between the clipped wing vs regular spitfire. The WW2 focus for DCS is giving me hope. The P51, spitfire, and 109 could all use refreshes. Fingers crossed!

I'd like to think with the attention the WWII side of DCS getting some more attention and assets that it'll happen someday! And I was surprised to learn that when I bought the Spitfire, that it also came with the clipped wing variant!
My favorite is the P-51 so far. I recently purchased the P-47 and the Mosquito. Will learn them once I feel more comfortable in the P-51 which is to say once I can confidently land it which I think is surprisingly hard 😂. I will say that I flew the Mosquito in Free Flight on the Channel map a few times already and have to say that I totally love it. The cockpit is roomy and it looks like I'm actually sitting in the cockpit of the real thing - simply amazing. I love that when I look around, there are what seem like a million buttons and I love the room for the navigator. On top of everything else, the sound of the twin engines in my ears is wonderfully soothing. Warbirds are super fun, especially with the new N2 map and on the Channel map on Christmas day 🎄 with snow all around. I don't need to be engaged in a fight of any sort, just flying around in a Warbird makes me feel like I'm back in 1944, especially when I have my DCS WW2 playlist running through my headphones along with the aircraft sounds. The fact that we can catapult ourselves back in time like this, or really into any aircraft scenario each of us most enjoy is simply amazing.
P-51 is a beautiful aircraft! Pretty amazing that so many survive in flyable condition to this day! Mosquito is a great aircraft as well, and it is a lot of fun with two people in it! I will do similar flights as well from time to time, just take a aircraft up, fly around, and enjoy the flight and scenery. When the new clouds came (DCS version 2.7 I think), taking an F-16 up and cloud surfing was a lot of fun!
I’m a 2 years old VR pilot, a non-gamer in overall, I fly a couple of days a week. I do have formal education in aviation as a military avionics guy. My first love is the P-51D, the 109 kicks my butt during takeoff and landings but in the air is so well behaved and competent, a total beast, you really feel like a hunter when flying for the germans, the Anton is so fun too, so acrobatic white ridiculous fire power, a little under powered compared to the enemies, but really dangerous and resilient.
Great video! I thought I was a Spitfire guy, turns out I am a P-47D guy. Based on the information in this video, I am going to have to give the Anton another try. Thanks.
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it. Anton is a good one, I like using it more in the ground attack role. Those cannons area really good against anything that isn't a tank.
Just a note, the FW190D in the sim should powered by a Junkers Jumo 213. There was one prototype with the DB603 engine, but not the 605. Tip for flying any taildragger: At low speed use full aft stick on the takeoff roll to push the tail into the ground. Once you get enough airspeed you can push the stick forward to get the tail up while you build up speed. Then let it lift off the ground.
I've got the P51, Spit, P47, 190 Dora and the mosquito. Of all of them, the P51 and the Dora are the most beginner friendly, and the Spit and P47 the most satisfying. Still learning the Mosquito, which is going to be a favourite. Having great fun in the project overlord server with them
Love the Jug, my usual go to aircraft when I'm wanting to do ground attack. Really digging the Guybrush avatar you have there! That was a fun games series!
I just got the Normandy map, so of course I had to get the WWII Asset pack and the warbird I chose was the P-47. It was not an easy choice. The Mustang was strongly considered as well as the 109 and the Spitfire. From what all of the general buyers guides have said, the Jug is a good way into the warbird life. Stable, powerful, easier to get under your fingers and into the air. So far that's not my experience. Takeoff is still a challenging proposition. Landing is even worse (for me). But, like anything in DCS, I will master it like I have all the other modules. Just takes time, patients and tutorial videos from all the awesome UA-cam virtual pilots. The Normandy map is just stunning. I spent the first week just tooling around in a Jeep looking at all the scenery. It really does make you feel like you went back in time. And they've left room for expansion. Lot's of space to be developed. Liked and subbed
Thanks, glad you enjoy the videos! Ugra Media did a great job on the Normandy map! If your getting into warbirds, the Mustang and the Jug are the more forgiving ones for taxi, takeoff, and landing. The Mustang in my opinion has the best ground handling qualities with the steerable tailwheel. It'll take some practice, but it is very satisfying when you reach the point to takeoff consistently and nail those landings!
@@DieselThunderAviation Truer words have never been printed. I have taxi/takeoff pretty much down on the Jug but landing is proving a bit harder for me. The Mustang is next on the list. I am kind of torn on the next purchase. I want to show the Brits some love, but also get the German stuff. The 109 I hear is a beast as well. Sigh...
Gentle inputs and speed management are key to setting up a good landing. That and learning to let her land when she wants to. If you'd like to learn the Mustang, you can either do the free two week trial (assuming you are on standalone DCS, not the Steam version), or just hop into the TF-51 training variant of the Mustang that comes with DCS. The TF-51 handles the exact same as the P-51, just does not have the ability to mount any guns or weapons, and also lacks the K-14 gunsight. The Spitfire and Bf-109 are great aircraft but are a lot harder to takeoff and land.
@@DieselThunderAviation Thx for the tips. All those little bits of info add up over time and make me a much better virtual pilot. I tend to fly on the hamfisted side and that's no good for landing. Also, I tweaked my curve on my stick and pedals so they weren't so twitchy. That helps a bunch!
excellent video, you make very nice and good videos in which you show everything nicely and explain what it is for and how it is used, which plane has good and bad flaws, its range, flight characteristics, engine and you explained everything nicely in videos that are not complicated how it should be on your list so it's hard to find them, I've been watching DCS footage for 6-7 years and I've been playing for 5-6 and I decided to buy a mustang P-51D on steam with today's 50% discount, I plan to buy a burst from western planes when Su-30 and if there is ever an F-35 are also on offer 🤗🤗👌👌👍👍🛩🛩🙋♂🙋♂
Thank you! P-51 is a good one in DCS, and is arguably the most forgiving of the ones available to learn with. I have my doubts that we'll seen any 4th gen fighters newer than the F-15/F-16, or any 5th gen for that matter. A Mig-25 or Mig-29 would be neat.
I love the DCS war birds and I'm lucky as I own most of them, all but one. The I-16 even though it looks and sounds great, I could get on with it. But the rest are all wonderful with my favourites being the Mosquito and BF109 followed by the Spit, 190-a Anton, P-47 Thunderbolt, Mustang and Dora.😮 I am looking forward to the F4U Cosair, Hellcat and A1 sky raider. But if I am just messing around in DCS and just wanting to fly, without combat and just explore. Then I always fall back on one of the warbirds to do this with.
the problem I have with the DCS warbirds is the lack of Japanese aircraft. I mean the corsair is coming, but I've not heard of any Japanese aircraft. So unless you are making fictional missions, the Marianas map is only useful as a standin. And the Corsair found little use in the European Theater
For me Spitfire is the ideal pick. It has currently the best cockpit textures (newest cockpit build) Behave exactly like it should and if you apply Echo19 sound mod for it (And tweak it quite a bit) it can sound really good too. Other modules are dated quite a bit or hard handling for a begginer
BF109’s engine control is actually easier than FW190’s. In BF109 with MW50 you can pretty much full power 24/7 without engine failing. In FW190, engine is easier to fail if are not careful with it
For sure, the MW-50 is really good to use (if available). The BMW 801 is a bit more sensitive and does not like being run hard for very long, 3 minutes at war emergency is the limit I think.
I'm coming over to DCS warbirds from IL2 GB and I've been totally won over by the proper engine modeling and high fidelity cockpits. I started out with the spitfire which is still my favorite to fly, and recently picked up the 109K4 along with the new Normandy map during the sale. I really enjoy both, but I mainly fly the spit as I like to build my skills up one plane at a time, and I just love the crazy maneuvers you can pull in the spit. Hopefully I'll have given the K4 the love it's due by the time the F4U comes out, because I won't be able to help myself diving into my favorite fighter from the pacific theater! A quick point on the clipped wing spit, my understanding is that the reduced wing area hurts the turning performance as well as its climbing due to decreased lift, but improved roll rate and speed because of the lower moment of inertia and reduced drag respectively. I could be wrong about the turning though, as I can't recall my source, and some lazy googling isn't yielding much that says anything about the turn rates directly. It just seems like in theory taking wing away could only hurt turn rate rather than help it.
I flew IL2 in the early 2000's, but never in multiplayer. I liked it alright but never stuck with it. When I tried it in DCS I was initially put off by how hard it seemed but kept at it. Absolutely love them now. Really looking forward to the F-4U as well! Regarding the clipped wing, I did some more reading on it. You're correct in thinking that the turn performance takes a hit. Turn radius increases, and turn speed decreases. Level flight above 20,000 also takes a small speed hit due to the increased angle of attack.
4 months to go for this year. I can't help but wonder if WWII Marianas will release at the same time the Corsair does? And if that is the case, if one is waiting for the other?
@@DieselThunderAviation that’s what I’ve been thinking honestly. ED probably told them to keep on working on the model so they can have the WW2 Marian’s finished to release in tandem. Hopefully we get another map announced possibly
@@DieselThunderAviation instead for P-47 i went today for Fw-190 D9 as I prefer air to air over air to ground missions. Like this long nose bird so much!
Can't wait for the Corsair. Meanwhile, the Mosquito and P-51 are a joy to fly. However, my lack of rudder pedals, and the drift in the Z axis of my Hotas is really detrimental..
With my old HOTAS, I didn't have pedals either. I ran a Saitek X-45 and it featured a rudder rocker on the throttle. Takeoffs were sporty and unpredictable, but still enjoyed them. Pedals are really nice and work well with the warbirds. I as well am really looking forward to the Corsair!
I think a really important factor in deciding which aircraft to purchase is what content is available for it, which you didn't really touch on. The I-16 could be the best modeled and most fun to fly aircraft in DCS, but I see no reason to buy it when it doesn't fit in with any of the maps we have, has no contemporary opponents to fight, and has 0 campaigns on the dcs store.
Tried the P-47 on free trial and instantly fell in love with it. There’s something addicting about letting all those 50 cals rip. Such a great module, you can almost smell that cockpit and the flight characteristics are quite forgiving. Own the Mossie as well and it’s an awesome module but since getting the P-47 it has remained on the ground.
The Jug is really good, love it in the ground attack role! Especially now that they added options in both the re-arm screen and the mission editor for the 50 cal belts. The strafing belts are really effective against anything that isn't heavily armored. They have done a wonderful job with the Jug!
If it was WW2 I was a pilot......Number #1 The Tempest Mk V .....A hotshot Pilot with something to prove...Mosquito "TSE TSE" with the 57mm Auto cannon Working for the Baddies : The TA-152 was a great German fighter plane at higher alts And at the start of them showing up Confused the allied forces
Yes, there is multiplayer in this sim. You’d have to purchase the 109 in order to fly it. There are two free maps that come with DCS. Normandy would need to be purchased.
So…. You’re going to have to go to war… choose your Warbird…… Jug, P51/Spit cointoss, I16… Axis? D9, BF109, A8 I don’t like the P51 stall characteristics
If its a late A model FW190 why is the Ata pressure low as was the case of the very early ones. Correct Ata pressure would increase the performance of the aircraft.
That would certainly increase performance. Pretty sure the 190A lacks an intercooler (much like the Bf-109), which limits how much boost the engine can run before the intake air is too hot and the engine starts detonating.
Which version of the A6M? The 3 or 5 maybe? Both so the F6F can have some fun too would be a dream come true. The FWs seem to under perform in DCS from what Ive always expected. They call it the Butcher Bird, lol. It very could be the way I fly it though. I doubt low and turning is what it was intended for ;) I like the way IL2 handles the different model versions by making them options in the plane setup. I understand its not perfect when going from extreme ranges of models but within a smaller range it would be a great way to make the game more playable.
Either variant of the Zero would be really cool! I don't think Magnitude 3 have said which Zero would come with the Corsair. I flew IL2 a little bit in the early 2000's, but I didn't stick with it for very long. Not having a strong computer at the time limited that for me.
@@DieselThunderAviation I think you missed my point about IL2. I wasnt advocating that game I was simply using it as an example of a good way for us to get different versions of the same planes using optional equipment to take the aircraft to the next mark if one wanted. I sure don't want to pay $50 for each of the 24 different Spitfire marks in DCS, lol.
I think you really have to go PvP for warbirds right now in DCS as the AI is super bad, omniscient and cheats like crazy. It's a shame they picked random warbirds from all over the war, with that focus on late war for the American and German birds, where the allies really have some serious advantages. It's going to be even worse in the pacific. In a way I'm sad that we get a mid war Spitfire vs late war 109's, gives people the wrong idea in some ways but it wouldn't be fun PvP seal clubbing in a MkXIV.
That would the A8 variant with the BMW 801 radial engine, also known as the Anton. I think it does come with one or two Zero liveries, and If I am not mistaken were used in official DCS videos. Notably the release video for the Marianas Islands map. ua-cam.com/video/gbaukPIFFyY/v-deo.html
I play the hell out of warbirds in DCS. However, I feel like they really need to add many more ai aircraft. It's seems like the it's only half done. As far as a ww2 flight sim.
I'm with you there, especially the lack of Pacific Theater. Though once the F-4U Corsair releases, there are things coming with it from what I understand (Essex class carrier, AI A6M Zero, possibly some other stuff too).
It's an inherent problem with radial engines and their crankshaft bearings. Short and sweet of it is that they are not very tolerant of being windmilled (prop driving the engine). There are a few ways to prevent it, usually by making sure there's enough power being made by the engine to not be windmilled.
Hey diesel! Couple of things, the fw190-D9 used 13mm guns in the nose not 12.7 The Germans didn't use 12.7 machine guns they used 7.62 generally. The Anton uses 7.62 in the nose and the 109 does as well The Germans preferred it because of the faster fire rate and it kept things lighter.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Think I may have confused them with another machine gun. Didn't the Luftwaffe upgrade them from the 7.62 to the 13mm somewhere in the G series of 109? In DCS the respective flight manuals for the 109 and both 190's list the machine guns as the MG 131.
What really bugs me is that there are 2 U.S Warbirds, and 2 German, 2 British, a Russian, but no Zero from Japan... WTF There might be more Warbirds than that it's just all I can remember off the top of my head. P51 P47, Spitfire and that two engine thing, FW and BF, I something.
You got most of them there. Currently 2 U.S. (P-47 and P-51), 2 British (Spitfire and Mosquito), 3 German (Bf-109, Fw-190 A8, and Fw-190 D9), and 1 Soviet (I-16). Eight totale that are currently flyable. Known to be under development are three more U.S. (F4U Corsair, F6F Hellcat, and A-1H Skyraider), and one more Soviet (La-7).
Whole WW2 project within DCS is a consequence of a undelivered KickStarter campaign called Normandy 1944, so basicly current lineup of warbirds apart from P-51 (which tunrned 10 years old last year) is ED fulfilling someone else's promises. I'm still very impressed by the quality of each module and looking forward to more of them. By the way one of the original Normandy 1944 aircraft to be developed was Me-210 (I wonder if it's still in the making).
I’m really happy that they stuck with it! Also looking forward as well to what the future holds. I’d like to think with the C-130 coming, that it may lead to the C-47 later. Me-210 would be really cool too.
I’m not complaining of course. I love that there is a selection. It just doesn’t seem like WWII without the Zero though. Giving the U.S even more of a selection without even one Japanese seems a little messed up to me. But I guess they know what they’re doing.
I think the A6M (whatever variant) is a poor matchup for the F4U or the F6F. They'd be better off including the Ki-84 Hayate for that. Of, if they are hell bent on including an A6M, include the F4F or something.
F4F would be cool to fly in DCS one day for sure! For the Zero, it may be an underdog compared to the Corsair and Hellcat, but they did serve for the entirety of the war. Ki-84 only saw action from late 44 to the end of the war. So far we only know of the AI Zero coming with the Corsair, can't help but wonder if there are other assets coming that haven't been revealed yet?
@@DieselThunderAviation I see what you're saying, but there's a big performance gap between A6M/Ki-43 and F4U/F6F. A Ki-61 or Ki-84 would be a much better matchup. Most of the planes we have in DCS are late war already. I hope they flesh out the Pacific Roster, but I also would've liked for a Ju88 to become available for Normandy.
I guess we'll see how it performs. It was said that a well flown Zero could be a challenge for Corsairs and Hellcats. I certainly hope they expand into the Pacific Theater, because no one else is currently. For Normandy, did you mean the Ju-87 Stuka? Because I fairly sure we have AI Ju-88 in the sim already, unless you meant player flyable.
@@DieselThunderAviation I think the A6M faces the same challenge against the F4U/F6F as the Spitfire Mk.V back in the day against the FW190's. It could outturn it, but that was it. With regards to the Ju88, I meant a player flyable one. We need a twin engine Axis bird and the Ju88 was the most produced twin engine German airplane. Only makes sense to have that one.
I would say that the warbirds are more challenging to fly but are fairly simple with systems and weapons. The more modern fighters are easy to fly but come with a more complicated weapon system. I personally like the challenge of the warbirds, though enjoy a lot of the other aircraft available in DCS. If there is any advice I could give, it is to pick the missions that you like to do, versus trying to decide on a particular airplane. Choosing the mission set will lead you to the aircraft you'd likely most enjoy.
@@DieselThunderAviation would love to see 109 E , F and G models , and fw A5- A6 . A Stuka would be sick . Just some early modules for axis and Allies, would create some flexibility with historically accurate mission scenarios from early war into late war .
my mate, just for information: soviet airplanes got a name not being single letters. so it's not pronounced "ell ae" but "Luh". that's the case for every soviet aircraft.
@@DieselThunderAviation there's actually another funfact to it: universally, it's written like "La", but this isn't possible with ilyushin, since it would just look like "II" - that's why people not using the russian alphabet, like former eastern germany, used "IL" on their russian planes, to make it readable. but this lead to a misunderstanding, so eastern german folks say "ee ell", whilst pronouncing every other manufacturer correctly.^^
How long has DCS been around? DCS still does not have a WWII theater of operations no assets and are just getting around to creating aircraft! I am SMH.
I own them all. I prefer the FW190 A8 and the ME109. I-16 is fun. because its different. I dont bother to convert the cockpits to English. If its Russian.. I fly in Russian.. If its German I fly in German, if its French... Find the white flag dispenser its all you need.

My favorite is the P-51 so far. I recently purchased the P-47 and the Mosquito.

I'll practice with P-51. Next year I'll put something on trial.
I’m a 2 years old VR pilot, a non-gamer in overall, I fly a couple of days a week. I do have formal education in aviation as a military avionics guy. My first love is the P-51D, the 109 kicks my butt during takeoff and landings but in the air is so well behaved and competent, a total beast, you really feel like a hunter when flying for the germans, the Anton is so fun too, so acrobatic white
ridiculous fire power, a little under powered compared to the enemies, but really dangerous and resilient.
2 years old but already able to type full sentences like that and formal education finished? Wow. :D
@@Wolfhound_81 hahaha! English is not my first language hahaha, now I see what I wrote, that is hilarious, you make my day today hahaha!
Nice video! They really need the Hurricane for the new Normandy map.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Hurricane would be a nice addition one day!
Wonderful video! My all time excitment would be seeing the P-40 show up
P-40 would be a good one to fly! Especially as more Pacific theater stuff comes along with WWII Marianas map, Corsair, and later the Hellcat.
Tip for flying any taildragger:
At low speed use full aft stick on the takeoff roll to push the tail into the ground.
How appropriate, you fight like a cow.
But the rest are all wonderful with my favourites being the Mosquito and BF109 followed by the Spit, 190-a Anton, P-47 Thunderbolt, Mustang and Dora.😮
I am looking forward to the F4U Cosair, Hellcat and A1 sky raider.
Would be nice to have them represented in DCS for sure! I imagine a Zero would likely be first, though a B5N Kate would be pretty cool too.
need to get the KI84 , that'll kill the us planes very easily
For me Spitfire is the ideal pick. It has currently the best cockpit textures (newest cockpit build) Behave exactly like it should and if you apply Echo19 sound mod for it (And tweak it quite a bit) it can sound really good too. Other modules are dated quite a bit or hard handling for a begginer
14:34 wow a service ceiling of 8000km is pretty impressive! 😁
I didn’t catch that one until after the upload. Gotta love it when you are used to thinking in feet and not the metric system!
One important thing is that the Anton is made to work as a ground pounder, while the Dora works better as a fighter.
Anton does really well in that role!
I love Mag3 and every module they’ve made. I simply don’t see the F4U coming out this year. Don’t ask why if you don’t already understand lol
Hopefully we get another map announced possibly
man i really wanna get into DCS ww2, its just so sad that basically nobody plays it and there are no populated servers
I do wish there were more WW2 servers. Though that may pick up when the Pacific Theater comes along with the Corsair and Hellcat.
Bf109 and Spitfire
Both great aircraft!
Speed is a main factor for me so my warbird set is/going to be: P51D, Bf 109K4, F4U Corsair.
Good selection there! Only a suggestion, but consider the P-47 as well, good aircraft and features the same engine as the Corsair.
@@DieselThunderAviation instead for P-47 i went today for Fw-190 D9 as I prefer air to air over air to ground missions. Like this long nose bird so much!
Describing the Spitfire ground handling as "unique" is hilarious.
Likely the best way I could phrase that! It's certainly not as intuitive as toe brakes and led to some ground loops when I was learning that aircraft.
Adjust the drift with the Axis tune in your settings.
Yes, but learning to land the Jug is a real struggle. The 'stand and the Spit' are joys to land compared to the Jug.
She sure can be a handful at times!
Nice 👍👍
If it was WW2 I was a pilot......Number #1 The Tempest Mk V .....A hotshot Pilot with something to prove...Mosquito "TSE TSE" with the 57mm Auto cannon
Working for the Baddies : The TA-152 was a great German fighter plane at higher alts And at the start of them showing up Confused the allied forces
FW A8 and P47 are both tough beasts.
They sure are!
The only ones I don't have are the I-16, the Anton, and the Mosquito.
I wonder when we'll see the P-38 arrive in DCS :D
P-38 would be awesome, especially the J model! Would be pretty flexible too as it saw extensive service in both Europe and the Pacific.
Yep! And it'd look damn good while doing so, as well. Easily my favorite WW2-aircraft.
is there multiplayer in this game with warbirds??? I have the basic game , what is needed to play the 109? The Normandy map and the 109 DC both ???
Yes, there is multiplayer in this sim. You’d have to purchase the 109 in order to fly it. There are two free maps that come with DCS. Normandy would need to be purchased.
So…. You’re going to have to go to war… choose your Warbird…… Jug, P51/Spit cointoss, I16…
Axis? D9, BF109, A8
I don’t like the P51 stall characteristics
If its a late A model FW190 why is the Ata pressure low as was the case of the very early ones. Correct Ata pressure would increase the performance of the aircraft.
That would certainly increase performance. Pretty sure the 190A lacks an intercooler (much like the Bf-109), which limits how much boost the engine can run before the intake air is too hot and the engine starts detonating.
'Course, I went and got 'em ALL didn't I??!!! 😉
No P-38 Lightning among the upcoming... sadly.
Would love to fly a P-38 in DCS one day!
Which version of the A6M? The 3 or 5 maybe? Both so the F6F can have some fun too would be a dream come true.
The FWs seem to under perform in DCS from what Ive always expected. They call it the Butcher Bird, lol. It very could be the way I fly it though. I doubt low and turning is what it was intended for ;)
I like the way IL2 handles the different model versions by making them options in the plane setup.
In a way I'm sad that we get a mid war Spitfire vs late war 109's, gives people the wrong idea in some ways but it wouldn't be fun PvP seal clubbing in a MkXIV.
out of curiosity which fw190 has the zero skin bc I would rather get the one which can be used in the pacific theater
@@DieselThunderAviation awesome thanks for the response!
The I-16 is great.. but feels very lonely.
Not for much longer with the La-7 on the way!
I dated a warbird once.... but that is a different video entirely.
26:00 "cook the bearings" what exactly do yo mean by this?
It's an inherent problem with radial engines and their crankshaft bearings. Short and sweet of it is that they are not very tolerant of being windmilled (prop driving the engine). There are a few ways to prevent it, usually by making sure there's enough power being made by the engine to not be windmilled.
When I fly warbirds I prefer il-2
There are some nice Japanese mods out there for WWII. Two planes and some ships.
I was not aware, thanks for sharing! May be something I'll look into once the Corsair arrives.
@@DieselThunderAviation they are HARD to find.
According to my research the mk ix didnt enter service til 1943 battle of britain was in the summer of 1940
Did they confirm the corsair this year?
Not sure if it has been officially confirmed. I think I may have read that it is, but I can't remember the source as that was a few months ago.
@@DieselThunderAviation It was confirmed in the trailer was it not? It was there in the 2023 and beyond!
And beyond....😢
The 109 makes me sad I can get it off the ground about 75% of the time
She can be a tricky one!
Hey, none of them came out this year
Unfortunately not. No idea what's up with the Corsair, it looked pretty far along.
Hey diesel!
Couple of things, the fw190-D9 used 13mm guns in the nose not 12.7
The Germans didn't use 12.7 machine guns they used 7.62 generally.
The Anton uses 7.62 in the nose and the 109 does as well
The Germans preferred it because of the faster fire rate and it kept things lighter.
Accidently hit send...whoops
Other than that though this was a wonderful video! Good work!
@@DieselThunderAviation whoops! Yeah you are right, I always forget the k4 used the 13s haha
In the later g6 series they did start using 13mm instead!
Its a 7.92mm MG not a 7.62mm 😉
The Anton have 13mm over the Engine and the K4 also, the 7.92 MG where used until the 109 G2 and Fw190A5
What really bugs me is that there are 2 U.S Warbirds, and 2 German, 2 British, a Russian, but no Zero from Japan... WTF
There might be more Warbirds than that it's just all I can remember off the top of my head.
A: Yes...
Always the Mosquito. 🤙
I would happily fly either one!
14:35 8,000km?
Yep, I messed that up 🙂 i don’t use the metric system much, and got the units mixed up. Would love to see if anyone could get a 109 up to 8,000 km!
The Christen eagle 🦅
we better get the toilet bomb for the A-1H
Wouldn't that be cool!
WW2 planes are much easy to fly and pvp than modern planes? i wana buy a module and would be nice start with something easy.
WE NEED AXIS AIRCRAFTS
Which aircraft are you thinking about there?
@@DieselThunderAviation would love to see 109 E , F and G models , and fw A5- A6 . A Stuka would be sick . Just some early modules for axis and Allies, would create some flexibility with historically accurate mission scenarios from early war into late war .
fw 190 D-9 dora was made for a high altitude bomber interceptor......... not good at low alt......
Was not haha wtf
Well.........I own the P-47, the Spitfire, And the Dora (as well as the obvious TF-51)...........can't fly any of em worth a damn 🤣
They are quite challenging to fly well, though to me that is part of the appeal of them!
my mate, just for information: soviet airplanes got a name not being single letters. so it's not pronounced "ell ae" but "Luh". that's the case for every soviet aircraft.
I was not aware of that, thanks for sharing! Learned something new today!
I am SMH.
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE LA-7 IS COMING!?!??! MY MONEY'S UP INFRONT!
That'll be an interesting one to fly for sure!
a year later and no sign of any new content
You know, I would have thought the F-4U would have been out by now.
I own them all.
I prefer the FW190 A8 and the ME109.
I-16 is fun. because its different.
I dont bother to convert the cockpits to English.
If its Russian.. I fly in Russian.. If its German I fly in German, if its French... Find the white flag dispenser its all you need.
lol on the flag dispenser!
I-16 is an interesting one for sure. I don't enjoy takeoffs and landing in it. I used the think the Bf-109 was the worst in that regard until I started learning the I-16.
Just fly IL2.
I've flown that in the past. I did like the variety or aircraft.
I like IL-2 but I keep coming back to the clickable cockpits.
No hand hold.
