Well, clearly this idea has already been shot because 2023 was an amazing year for video games, arguably better than 2017 even. Yeah, loads of bad games still came out but like... duh? Even 2017 had plenty of stinkers looking back.
Father John Nicola, the Vatican exorcist who advised the filmmakers for the original Exorcist movie, was my next door neighbor for a few years in North Carolina. When he moved to a monastery in Illinois shortly before his death, he gave me his rosary that he used in exorcisms and his mother’s rosary. I would totally send it to Charlie if he wanted it. Father Nicola was cool, the Vatican did not want him to help with that film, but he said, “I’m going to do it so the film is accurate.” He was the real deal, and in his lifetime was one of only a few Vatican-certified exorcists. It’s a shame the new Exorcist was such trash.

Napoleon definitely deserves to be on this list. I can not think of a single movie that I was more disappointed in. Not to mention Ridley Scotts handling of criticism.
I was originally excited to see it, then I realized Ridley Scott also directed 1492 conquest of paradise. Needless to say I decided to not go on opening day and after the reviews came out I decided not to see it. I am a massive history buff
Man not only did the nun two not have any actual good scares, it made zero sense. They were supposed to have ended the nun but then continue the nuns story with the first conjuring. Although brief that’s how it was supposed to be. And then the conjuring two was supposed to completely end the nun. All the nun 2 is is just a way to gain quick cash cuz they knew people would be tripping over themselves to see it.
I have a extreamly guilty pleasure of watching super cheesy horror movies. I haven't been to the movies this year. Your reviews actually intrigued me. Now I must see these horror movies. I hope they are as bad as you say.
I’ve honestly been really looking forward to this video - I’m not much of a movie watcher, but i knew this year had some stinkers Also on the topic of Winnie-the-Pooh, assuming Disney is just gonna let it happen, Mickey Mouse is finally becoming public domain! Which I’m pretty sure we know what to expect happening with that.
I Just Really Hate The Fact That Hollywood Would Rather Drag A Dead/Dying Franchise Through The Mud, Rather Than Give Money To New And Interesting Ideas.
Another reason why The Exorcist: Believer is hot trash. It was released only a few months after William Friedkins death, and they essentially shit on his grave with this hot garbage. Friedkin famously said this before he died. "Ed, the guy who made the new ‘Halloween’ films is about to make one for my movie, The Exorcist. That’s right, my signature film is about to be extended by the man who made Pineapple Express. I don’t want to be around when that happens. But if there’s a spirit world and I come back, I plan to possess David Gordon Green and make his life a living hell." Knowing what Friedkin was like, I imagine that's exactly what he's doing.
I dont think I saw a single new one. I'm a massive history nerd and both Oppenheimer and Napoleon looked so bad that I didnt want to have them leave a stain on my memory
Im glad i I don't like horror, but I feel genuinely bad for fans of the genre. The amount of trash that's put out for a quick buck has plagued it for longer than the superhero movies.

John Wick 4 being the best live action movie is debatable but it's definitely an amazing movie and the perfect conclusion to the story.
I'm actually shocked Rebel Moon was not on the list.
Loki was the show that made Kang actually feel scary and mysterious
I watched Chicken Little with my little sister who has zero attention span and she was GLUED to the movie. Of course I loved it because I always have, but goes to show these new movies do too much extra stuff
this year had so many bad movies that Hunger games didnt even make top 5
Or the Indiana Jones movie
There were terrible movies this year, but there were also some really good movies like Across the Spider-Verse, Barbie, and Oppenheimer.
I just watched past lives last night and it was amazing. We had some bangers for sure.
Yeah I saw the holdovers yesterday, great film too.
Killers of the flower moon
All of yas are mentioning fantastic films. But you can’t forget Suzume and The Boy and The Heron
Godzilla Minus 1 also being one of the best Godzilla movies in a while!
I remember when David Gordon Green was a darling of indie movies, then he broke so many critics hearts by making stoner comedies with James Franco. I did like "Halloween" 2018, though.
REAL
Yeah, that Halloween movie was as good as a new Halloween movie could be really. Pineapple Express and Eastbound and Down were great too. Not a bad little career really
Charlie is like a cold puppy stuck outside in a rainstorm

#4 6:40 - Wish
#3 7:48 - The Nun II
#2 9:05 - Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey
#1 10:33 - The Exorcist: Believer
I honestly can’t remember the last time a horror move made me think “damn that was a good horror movie” and left me skittish
Steamboat Willie enters the public domain at midnight and I’m on the edge of my seat with morbid curiosity. If Blood and Honey is any indication, Steamboat Mickey, Minnie, and Pete are in for a treat.
Thank you for another great year of content Charlie, and Happy new year.

I’m excited for 2024 as a year for movies because it’s a year that ends with the digit “4”, and 1994, 2004, & 2014 were really good years for movies. (Same thing with years that end with the digit “7” for video games btw)
That is some superstitious thinking
Well, clearly this idea has already been shot because 2023 was an amazing year for video games, arguably better than 2017 even.
Yeah, loads of bad games still came out but like... duh? Even 2017 had plenty of stinkers looking back.
Now you're talking
Bro thinks that random repeating numbers results in anything 😭💀💀
@@RJS2003Same with 2013 for videogames
That’s so damn cool!
I watched Aquaman 2 last week and fell asleep during 2 fight scenes. One of them was the Last fight.
Dang, the Marvel's was so bad that Charlie didn't even realize Supergirl isn't even in the movie
Super surprised The Meg 2 wasn’t on there, that movie was genuinely on par with how bad Moonfall was
Brother literally swam out without a suit like at the bottom of the ocean
i still remember my entire theater exploding in cheers during the final act of the first nun movie and i was dumbstruck
It really says something about this year's bad movies is for several of these I went 'that came out this year?'
Kang losing to Ant Man was one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen
The Flash should be an honorable mention.
I think Meg 2 the trench should’ve be an dishonourable mention at least.
it's underrated trash
That movie is probably the best .. worst movie I've ever seen in my life. It was soo god damn funny and entertaining😂
@@Forest89764 I think the first one is a bit more entertaining because it has way more shark carnage, most of the second one is just a stupid crappy corporate conspiracy mystery movie with a tiny bit of shark carnage in the last 20 minutes of the movie.
@@Forest89764 how?????? the meg 2 was not fun bad. it was boring as FUCK
ngl I loved it😭
Would love to hear your best movies and best games take. Ive agreed on most of your picks so far.
the best games list are probably just gonna be the goty contenders for the most part anyway
I'm surprised he didn't mention the Flash
Winnie the Pooh feels like it came out and was forgotten three years ago
I hope we get a "Top 5 Best Movies of 2023", but maybe not since we're starting a clean slate.
List of movies(not in order):
- Across the Spiderverse
- Puss in Boots: The Last Wish
- Oppenheimer
- Barbie
- Godzilla: Minus One
I would replace Barbie with Super Mario Bros
I can't believe I "watched" all of these movies through Charlie's videos. Thanks for saving me so much time and also get a good laugh out of them!
My favourite part was when ant man said "I am supergirl, the king of the ocean" and started exorcising winnie the pooh with the help of a nun
You're clearly a content zombie if you watched them all
The Marvels was so bad Charlie referred to “Ms. Marvel” as “Supergirl” 💀
The fact fnaf isn’t on here is really surprising and I’m happy!
When’s the Mr. Sunday Movies crossover?!
Surprised Flash wasnt crammed into the Superhero film section. Especially with the whole AI segment.
Or Blue Beetle.
The Flash had its moments come on
Napoleon definitely deserves to be on this list. I can not think of a single movie that I was more disappointed in. Not to mention Ridley Scotts handling of criticism.
REAL
I was originally excited to see it, then I realized Ridley Scott also directed 1492 conquest of paradise. Needless to say I decided to not go on opening day and after the reviews came out I decided not to see it. I am a massive history buff
The silent film is pretty good
@@posham219 I was hoping for another Oppenheimer instead I got borderline autistic man child that just kinda stumbles into success.
fr. Pheonix's performance was the only thing remotely palatable about the film
2023 was certainly a year which saw the release of movies. Truly the year of all time.

7:47 Dude suddenly switches to full disney musical Mode.
I hope they are as bad as you say.
didnt ask + my animations are better
The thing is, Charlie feels the same way, so the horror movies he’s calling bad aren’t fun bad, they’re boring bad.
@@ZerglingLover You seem to not understand why I said extremely guilty. At one point I watched the entire Netflix horror section. This isn't a flex.
@@ZerglingLover Honestly as bad as the exorcist was it was pretty funny (unintentionally) in a lot of spots so I think it's fun with a group
@UTTPGhettoThrownFromOrlandoGTFDONT CARE + YOU EAT SPIKED EDIBLES

Charlie went from John Wick 2 days ago to a Fallen Angel lmfao

I really people will finally stop the superhero craze, it was tired 5 years ago already.
Having expendables 4 not there is wild to me
Honestly, just place all expendables on a single list- it’s just large actors killing peiple
I’ve honestly been really looking forward to this video - I’m not much of a movie watcher, but i knew this year had some stinkers
Also on the topic of Winnie-the-Pooh, assuming Disney is just gonna let it happen, Mickey Mouse is finally becoming public domain! Which I’m pretty sure we know what to expect happening with that.
9:48
I'm surprised he didn't mention The Flash🤣🤣
I was “Nun 2” pleased with it as well.
Only FIVE!? I’m listening...
I Just Really Hate The Fact That Hollywood Would Rather Drag A Dead/Dying Franchise Through The Mud, Rather Than Give Money To New And Interesting Ideas.
I like how he said supergirl but still remembered her character’s actual name
my top 5 favorite movies of the year
1: Spider-Man
2: Gran Turismo
3: Five Nights At Freddy's
4: Dumb Money
5: Guardians Of The Galaxy 3
@@TrashPanders welcome to the internet, everything and everyone is pointless
5. 1:00 The Superhero movies
4. 6:40 Wish
3. 7:49 The Nun 2
2. 9:05 Winnie The Pooh Blood and Honey
1. 10:36 The Exorcist Believer
Thank you sm. This video was boring as hell for some reason.
But if there’s a spirit world and I come back, I plan to possess David Gordon Green and make his life a living hell."
Knowing what Friedkin was like, I imagine that's exactly what he's doing.
Rebel Moon definitely deserves a spot here 💀
This is the reason y I'm just gonna wait till they release his actual cut. I don't wanna watch some half-baked pg13 bullshit.

The funny thing is I thought Charlie was talking about how bad of a villain Kang was but I forgot that M.O.D.O.K was in the movie
I love your content Charlie. Watching your videos have been the highlight of my year. ❤ Happy New Year 🎉🎊

If Charlie didn’t choose only 5 this video would be hours long, and I’d still watch every second 😂
Blue Beetle, Indy 5, The Flash, Ant-Man 3.
I actually forgot Shazam 2.
But Blue Beetle was probably the worst for me.
Using the "f* it, we'll do it live" reference passively is hilarious
I have to praise Blood and Honey for being the greatest get rich quick scheme. I know exactly what I'm doing when Steamboat Willie Mickey goes public domain
Ah yes, Super Girl was also my favorite in The Marvels.
