Here is my ultimate modified Harbor Freight Tool Cart Tour of 2021. I have modified this tool cart many times and I finally think I have found my best setup. I have modified this Harbor Freight Tool Cart in every which way possible - I modified the top lid, under the lid, the sides, the back, and much more - utilizing this tool cart to its greatest ability...so far.
This setup is effective and efficient and can take care of 90% of my weekend DIYer needs when working on my car or tasks around the house, all in a tiny footprint. Additionally, this Harbor Freight Tool Cart serves me as a mobile bench in the garage as well.
I have divided up the links for tools on my Harbor Freight Tool Cart to reference which side of the tool cart items were placed. If I couldn't find the exact make/model of the tool, that I referenced in my Harbor Freight Tool Cart, then I linked a comparable or similar product.
As an Amazon Associate member, I do receive a small commission if you use my link. No added expense to you and you help support the channel. Thank you!

I didn't include everything so comment below if there was anything you were looking for that I missed!
Outstanding video---lots of these out there---but I think this is the best I've seen. I intend to "steal" your ideas as I build out my cart😁
That's why I made the video! Love it man, let me know if you have any questions - thanks for checking out the video!
I agree. You have a lot of unique ideas. Great video.
I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.
Thanks for checking out the video, glad to hear you have been enjoying yours!
Also I learned from my mentors to always put as much of your daily use tools as high as possible. You are young and healthy now. But 20 years of bending down to get tools 10/15 times a day and you'll be in serious pain I got all my sockets ratchets extensions pry bars and other accessories right on top of my cart my wrenches amd pliers in the first and my less used tools Stay in my 3rd drawer. My 4th drawer is my bad day drawer (air hammer drill drill bits taps etc) 5th drawer is backup drawer (sockets wrenches etc) and 6th drawer is just paper work and where I store snacks and my clothes I wear home
This is great wisdom, thanks for sharing your setup!
Nice cart man loving those magnetic pads .but at points in the video I had a hard time hearing you with background music
Good to note! Appreciate the feedback
I put 6inch swivel wheels on mine..looks cool plus easy to roll outside if need to...thanks for sharing 👍😷
Smart - thanks for checking out the video!
I've had a lot of success with the extractor bits over the years. They especially came in handy when licenses plate bolts break off.
Will have to put it to practice. Thanks for watching!
Rubber grommets on those holes in the top for your screwdrivers and ratchets etc would keep them steadier and not clunking everywhere while you wheel it around. Lots of great ideas in this vid, definitely stealing some! Thanks 👍🏻
Yeah I have some in there, need to get bigger ones though just because the fitment isn't terribly snug.
Thanks for checking out the video!
I don’t know you but you just seem to be a down to earth person. Great video. I just ordered two of the tool storage carts for my garage. Harbor Freight had a sale this past weekend and they ran out of the carts so I ordered them at the sale price. Thanks for the ideas.
@@carlosceballos6477 Appreciate that my friend, just an everyday dude. Thanks for the comment and watching the video, glad you got value out of it.
The two hangers you have on the back are for the shop or towel dispenser. That is a cool idea
Yup, forgot to mention it. Not the best holders so used it for something that works better.
I do home remodeling and its amazing how much easier it is to work once you organize your tool boxes into compartments and set-ups. That's just putting stuff where you can get it easily , not OCD. 🤥😄
Definitely an efficiency hack haha. Thanks for checking out the video
Thanks for sharing. Really like how you made use of the side spots on the outside and inside. Magnets are amazing for holding things. That socket drawer was exactly what I was looking for! You are right on with how you work on the top and if your sockets are in the top you are stuck. Very helpful video!!!
Thanks for checking it out! Glad you found value.
Love your cart! I took away a couple good ideas, so thank you for sharing your mods and organizing tips!
Thanks Paul, glad you got value out of it. Thanks for tuning in!
Anyone who works on Japanese motorcycles, I highly recommend getting the vesel JIS screwdriver. It's night and day difference between the JIS and a regular Phillips
Couldn’t agree with you more.
@@BoostedMPLS the one I bought is also an impact. So for getting stuck carb bowl bolts off is a must.
@@MrMcTavishOBS This is great to know, my wife just picked up a Kawasaki Ninja.
Badass cart
Thank you brotha! Appreciate you checking it out.
That thing is a work of art! For those wondering about the big red "hooks" on the back they are actually meant as a paper towel holder. I don't think you mentioned it.
That's right! I did forget to mention that!! Thank you for checking it out!
@@BoostedMPLS I saw that and saw the paper towel holders for use together. You looked at them and saw hooks separate from each other for a different use. That's awesome and why i watch these types of videos. Sometimes other people's perspective shows me something I didn't see myself. Thanks for the vid 👍🏻
Dude! I know im a year late but nice man! I love my four drawer cart too man. Good idea with the sockets.
Still relevant haha. Thanks for checking it out!
This is a cool video. I am definitely going to add this to my winter project list!
Thank you my man, appreciate you checking it out!
Man you have some 🤯 mind blown ideas, I personally don't have a cart but I do have a 56" US GENERAL box, top chest and side cabinet, and some of the things you done are going to be done to my setup. Excellent video and I have to agree with some of the people that commented this is one of the best, and informative videos I've seen. Thank you and best of luck to you and your family.
Thank you! Appreciate you checking out the video! Glad you were able to get value out of it!
I enjoyed this video!! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the tool holders.
Thank you Marc! Thanks for checking out the video!
Love the the video. Thanks for sharing all your great ideas.
You’re very welcome! I appreciate that!
Absolutely love this
Thanks for checking out the video! Glad it brought you some value!
Thanks for sharing your ideas. I also modified my $50 3 tier tool cart. Just needed a mat and might copy your way of hanging drills and PPE.
Thanks for checking it out! Glad you got value out of it, cheers!
The Lodesol mats look awesome. I have been wanting to use magnets to put all my sockets in the drawers and was gonna use the HF 18” magnets but these mats might be better
I love them. I made a whole review on them as well. I’ve been working with them, 10% off if you use BoostedMPLS.
Better way to get out stuck bolts is to use left hand thread drill bits. Put your drill on left and start with a small pilot hole and then go up 2 sizes and it should spin right out. Those extractors are better used for air/hydraulic fittings that break off. Hopefully that’s a helpful tip. I’m an industrial mechanic and what I use all the time
Extremely helpful, thank you for that I will try that out next time!
One of my first purchases from a tool truck.
Great video and thanks for giving me some awesome ideas! Love your garage floor!
Thanks for checking out the video, appreciate it!
Nice video, thanks for sharing. The cheaper calipers draw quite a bit of power even when off. I've found the mitutoyo ones are amazing, especially the solar powered ones. Just plain old dial ones are nice since they don't take batteries and are sometimes easier to read when just measuring small differences between components rather than reading a digital display and having to do the math. I do fabrication, welding and machining so I use my calipers a lot more than one would in general auto work.
Thanks for the advice and input. I will definitely check out those calipers when the time arises.
Great cart bro
Thank you bro, appreciate you checking it out
First video of 2021 congrats
Thank you!
Great video, thanks for sharing. Excellent ideas on organizing and laying out your cart I haven’t seen anywhere else.
Glad it was helpful!
Great review and i have different sizes on the lodesol matts and they work great. also the code still work as of 6/9/22. thank you i ordered one more matt.
Excellent, thank you for supporting the channel.
Bro!! I have to say, Love the way you explained everything and even have description on products for it. Much love for putting out how you have your cart! Not to Crome the elbows but ..... mines will look really close to yours. Really, thank you again.
Thank you for checking out the video, glad you enjoyed it.
Great idea putting the sockets on the bottom drawer 👍👍👍
Don’t know I don’t see more people doing that. Thanks for checking out my video bro!!
that really makes perfect sense and i can totally see myself doing that when i get mine here pretty soon
Tell me how those vice grips saved your life
nice setup man. thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Like your safety shoes 😉
Orange is for safety right 😂
You should give me that cart and make yourself another one...im jealous...
As long as you cover shipping haha :)
Thank you brotha, appreciate you checking out the video.
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for checking it out!
I took a shot everytime he said um. Got to drunk to finish watching the video
😂 Thakks for checking out the video!
Where's the link for the Carlyle wrenches. Also, can I get a link for the Japanese drivers?
Hey! Here are a couple options, I found Gearwrench ones to be similar to the Carlyle wrenches: amzn.to/3jaITtM
Here are the Carlyle set: amzn.to/2VayYN5
Love it ..love it..love it..the cart and the channel
Hey! I appreciate that!
Just wanted to say that i literally subbed for the GTR. Good content. But Godzilla got me hooked 😁
Plenty more content on it, thank you!!
Ever strip a "Phillips" head screw putting together IKEA stuff? It is because they are the PZ (Pozidriv) head screws. Great video, I'll be picking up those Lodesol mats!
Didn’t know that! Awesome! Use my code ‘BoostedMPLS’!
Great job 👍
Thanks for checking it out!
Really like the magnetic mats. They would be nice to have for my 20ft. shipping container where I keep parts & tools. It's been tough to find things to apply to the steel walls for organization. I've used the speed out kit once to remove a broken transmission bell housing bolt. It worked great! Was much easier that picking a drill bit & matching easy out. Very convenient to have them together.
Appreciate your insight and your feedback. The magnetic mats are really nice to have and I’ve found myself using them even around the house. For example installing a new garbage disposal under the sink, took the tools and mat and was able to keep everything organized.
Love the Organization! Great Mods, The only thing I would not suggest is mounting your torque wrench on the magnetic strip. It may fall some day and the torque wrench will be out of calibration or even worse damaged permanently ..... there than that keep the video's coming,
Thanks Gary, appreciate that feedback. I need to find a better solution for someday. It’s just so convenient and sticks so well to that strip haha. Thanks again for watching and subscribe for more videos!
@@BoostedMPLS I had one come apart from the magnet, they're held together with cheap glue
Very nice. I picked up some stubby Impact nut setters for the m12 driver. A set of 20 from Neiko (or one of the other 20 brands) for ten bucks. It's a nice light and compact setup.
Nice! Send a link, I would like to check it out! Thanks again for checking out the video!
My biggest problem with the tool cart is it becomes a place to set things too easily. I'm unburying mine and hopefully it will look good like yours. 👍🏻
It can be! However now that everything has a home you can’t allow that haha.
2:57 impact is the word you’re looking for 👌🏼
Haha yes!!!
“Stubby torque wrench “😂
Hahaha my bad I know
Nice setup, thanks for sharing some useful tips, I can tell it's a passion for you. Also who is playing that smooth jazz track?
Thanks for checking it out, not sure of the song - sorry

Awesome cart mods.

Nice Leather Rose sticker, or maybe not her but it is a Deadwood cigar sticker
Keen eye, thanks for checking out the video
@@BoostedMPLS whered you get that sticker?
@@lukemartineau8590 Forget, got it free with something I bought.
Thanks for the tour. Im considering this box for a racing pit box, now I have a better idea of how versatile it can be. Careful with that Japanese screwdriver I'm pretty sure I heard you say "PZ" and thats pozi-drive which is different from "JIS" (japanese industrial standard) which is what you want for those japanese cars.... its hard because they all look like phillips at a glance but they are slightly different :) cheers i like the mods as well
Appreciate your feedback, thanks for watching!
your respirator mask should be kept in an airtight container or sealed bag. not out in the open. even if it's for dust only. if it has a charcoal filter for painting it will deplete quickly and become ineffective.
Extremely valid point, Mike. Thinking of ideas now.

I read somewhere that they were having problems with the 3M hearing protection! On a side note I have concerns that your slippers may not be enough protection against falli g hardware! Years ago I dropped a 40 lb baseboard on my toe! Ouch!!

appreciate that brotha, thanks for checking it out!
The speed outs . I have had some luck with small fasteners . I use it in the machine shop I work at . Great cart . Mine is mess I have the 5 draw one . I have mod mine out .
Ok cool, so it's not completely user error. I tried to use it to extract a boot from a different case and it was a no go. Thanks for checking out the video and the feedback.
ua-cam.com/video/KBDYzckolyY/v-deo.html
I do the same with mine. My sockets are in the bottom drawer. I leave the top clean and leave my tools that I use on a job overnight in the top and leave parts, nuts and bolts on the side table.
It’s brilliant honestly.
Very cool 👍🏻
Thanks for checking it out!

Those long Carlyle wrenches look bad ass bro definitely on my list. I’m just waiting to catch them on sale. Lol
Haha dude they are real good. Always surprising me how strong they are.
@@BoostedMPLS that’s good to hear because I need a set like that. How long have you had them?
as a official fat guy spends all day watching UA-cam videos. I here by declare this video outstanding. SCORE OF 9.97 FROM 10
Dude....that means a lot to me. Thank you!
The blue tool you were talking about calipers to knock pins out with. You were looking for the name punch. But that looks like a nail set and not a punch?
Correct, a punch set.
I put a piece of 1/2” hose over my extension so it sits higher up and it’s easier to take out
Great call, I'll be sure to try that out!
Any link to the Carlyle wrench set? Great video, a ton of great ideas in this one. Probably the most extensive one I've seen on YT!
Thanks for watching!
Check out tekton for similar: amzn.to/49RoKC4
Your hose pliars are what I always called spark plugs pliars to pull the boots off. But if all you have driven is foreign dual overhead cam motors they don't even take that type wire you can grab with those.
That’s brilliant. Great tip!
@@BoostedMPLS haha, that's actually what they are for!! You can also use them for small heater hoses and vacuum lines in the 3/8 range I guess.
@@natevanlandingham1945 very true I always used them for hoses haha. I read it wrong haha.
I use those pliers for spark plug boots, I took heat shrink tubing and smoothed out the inside of the pliers so it is less likely to rip the boot and grip it better
Thanks for making me feel like a tool cart failure. 😞
Hey I’ve put up the magnetic paper towel holder!
I have had success with the easy outs from Harbor Freight the one time I needed them. Don’t know if you have a trailer, but most use 8 point double box fasteners. I thought they were torx and of course stripped the heck out of the first one I tore into
Haha! Happens to us all man. I’ll keep them in the tool box and test my luck next time haha. Cheers brotha.
You might want to rethink putting your 1/2" torque wrench on the magnetic strip. It'll attract metal shavings/dust that could get into the workings of it.
That's a very good point Sam, appreciate that.
On them speed out'their ok for taking up room in your tool box.
Haha! That’s how I feel sometimes haha.
I've managed to break those long wrenches soo much. But I also work on cars for a living
They’ll likely last me a lifetime
3:05 you wouldn't have called that a torque wrench if you had proper shoes on.
😂 Its like walking clouds with those. But if I was actually working on something I would be wearing shoes 👍🏽
What does this toolbox sell for how much is it? Please come at back, thank you
Thanks for watching! Harbor freight has it on sale for $189!
You mean 'impact driver' right?
Yes haha
Thanks for taking the time to go through your toolbox. I've been watching a few of these videos before I decide if I'll get one.
One criticism - the auto focus was really getting to me a lot of times when you'd be just a little in front of the camera and it would focus on you and not what you were holding or showing.
Thanks for taking the time to watch! I agree with you and it was frustrating while shooting as well. Since this, I have upgraded cameras and lenses so hopefully that will help. Cheers!
