@Basement_CNC They have changed their stock a little. As of December 2024, this set (slightly different drawer layout) in 42 inches is selling for $1050 USD (top and bottom together). There are cheaper options in the US, but if you can live with the drawer arrangement, these U.S. General boxes are VERY nice.
Hey, bought a Craftsman stack identical to yours back in 1984 or so. it was packed with stuff! Finally retired and moved to a house with a bigger garage a couple of years ago and bought a 52" Craftsman stack. Big difference! Love your video, really good production, and a lot of good tips!
I have that same Craftsman toolbox. Bought it around 1996. Replacing it with a 56 inch US General Base Cabinet and a Side locker also in blue. I will likely buy the hutch or top chest down the road.
@The Wrenching Garage I just found your channel and subscribed. I have a suggestion or two for you. 1) The foam you used is available at Walmart. My last roll costs about $7.00 dollars, that was just before the Covid-19 hit. 2) In the wrench drawer-band the wrenches together. With the wrenches banded, placed them on the open end side, make them even. Now placed them on the foam and draw around the outline and cut the foam. You will Find it takes up less space than laying the wrenches flat. I hope that helps. I enjoyed watching today's video. Again thank you 👌
the irony. i have that exact same craftsman toolbox. i just bought a 72" US General to finally replace it. downside, it doesn't fit in my shop.. sooooo currently extending my shop lol.
@@thewrenchinglounge that was the first idea, then realized my pockets aren't that deep. so knocking out the back wall of my shop and adding 8' to it. have a mill and lathe i wanna hookup and use lol.
Ohh. And yes, it completely fixed my oil consumption issue. I never knew it was the rings. And I was burning thru 2-3 quarts every 2 weeks or every 1k miles.
I have a variation of that same Husky Wrench set. The missing 16mm is available for purchase right from Home Depot. Husky doesn't sell the 20mm, but I used a Crescent 20mm, which was probably made in the same factory and matches the set.
@@1madmaxx80 You almost never need it for a factory metric bolt. It comes in super handy for an old 25/32" bolt (19.8mm) or my more common use, a 21mm that's rusted down a size. It's also handy for a swollen 19mm, but that's usually better served with a socket as its usually a lug nut. Although, you can buy the half size sockets for just that purpose.
Search for the following on Amazon. "Ernst Manufacturing 5401M Magnetic Wrench Pro Wrench Storage for 20 Wrenches - Black" That should take you to what I used.
You can really rent tools, they charge you for the tool “a deposit “ and when you bring it back and if you have not damaged it, they give you your money back. They are not new tools off the shelf, they are loaner tools.
Why would I take advice about organization from a guy who's prior tool box looked like a cyclone hit it? Your solution is to buy new tools and a giant tool cabinet. That's like buying a new car because the car you have needs new tires.
Not really. It’s more like you finally break down and buy a minivan because you have 3 kids and are expecting a fourth, your compact coupe doesn’t cut it anymore and you’ve tried to make do with it for too long. The lesson for me as a DIYer is to not wait too long since overstuffing a too-small storage solution no matter has clever you are, inherently leads past a certain point to disorganization. You could always stop buying tools, but who wants to do that LOL!
There's nothing local about Icon tools. They are ALL made overseas in China or Taiwan if you're lucky. How about you truly support local industry and buy American.
A good comment I saw is don’t feel bad for supporting harbor freight, yeah there stuff is made overseas but they employ 28,000 Americans here in the us while a company like snap on only employs 13,000.
By American company I'm not sure if you're referring to snap-on or matco or what you're referring to but you can't be serious if you think all their tools are made in the United States give me a break dude Get a grip on yourself
Wrench organizer is the Wrench Pro by Ernst!
Thanks @vickiswor5870. I realized I said the wrong name. I've added the link to the website in the description.
@@thewrenchinglounge how much is the toolbox.....im in europe, and we dont get anything this big without spending several thousand euros

Great setup... definitely will take some inspiration from your setup... ordering those trays and wrench holders

Thanks for the video. Just got a new rolling tool bench and I like seeing all the different ideas for organization.
Have fun! Still loving my setup.

Dude... great video! Good decision on speeding the video where appropriate and generally great content in your discussion! Thanks!
Glad you liked it.
Nice job. I've been looking at tool boxes from HF recently; got a floor jack from them I absolutely love.
It’s the best garage upgrade I’ve done.
the most everyday box i have seen great job
6:45 I recently upgraded to that same set mainly for the carry case to keep my set organized. You got a great deal on it. I paid twice that for mine.

Holy smokes both are really nice if you plan on selling that craftsman lmk. I wish I even had something like that. Good luck and good health.

I did the piston soak on a Hyundai, just the regular way. But those little hose lines look really cool. And might work a tad bit better.

Yep, Her Sorento was burning a quart every 1K miles. Fixed it completely
What camera do you use to record? the video and the quality came out great
Main Camera is the DJI Pocket 3 creators combo and timelapse is with a GoPro 7.

In over 30yrs of professional wrenching I can count on 1 hand how many times I've used a 20mm wrench.

Turn your Craftsman tool box into a Gun accessory and ammo storage like I did.
U can RENT specialty tools from autozone? Or which store? Or do u mean buy it, use it, and return it?
You rent it, if the brake caliper compressor is 36 you buy it for 36 dollars you can keep it or you can return it within 90 days for a full refund

Well that's a good question. Sometimes it's nice to buy a new car and start fresh.
