      @@WorkingWithWimberley By any chance, do you know if on the 26" US general series 2 box, can you switch out some of the smaller depth drawers with the bigger ones? Like order replacement drawers and swap them? im liking the 26" and would defintely add the top chest but it just has too many small 3" drawers and would like to have at least 4-5 deep drawers. I would add the end cabinet too to complete the whole toolbox but then the width of the end cabinet is too small lol. Any ideas? thanks and awesome job on the mod bro looks super clean. Think you can do the same to the 34" 6 drawer? cuz I have one but would be pretty awesome to add an end cabinet to it haha

    Some tape would of helped get a cleaner cut. But thanks for showing exactly where the cuts are needed.
    Some other videos not show this, they just say they cut here and there.
    Nice box

      I haven’t seen anyone do that, but it should be possible. You would need to relocate the handle too.

    Good clean install. Can you get matching paint or what paint did you use? Nice shop, looks like the inside of a house. LOL Great video.

      I used a random green paint from Home Depot that didn’t match that great, but it’s such a small area that it isn’t really noticeable. I’m sure you could find a better match. Thanks! 😂

      It’s holding up great! I haven’t had any issues, but honestly it usually stays in the same spot in my garage. I don’t wheel it around much.

    If the drawers are anything like the 5 on the main cart then you can remove them to make it a lot more manageable by yourself! Just pull one plastic tang down and the other up and it should slide out.

      I believe the U.S. GENERAL 15 in. End Cabinet, Series 3 is the replacement. That should work too.

      @@WorkingWithWimberley Thanks for the heads up on that. They are $279. I got the 5 drawer tool cart on the 12 day Christmas sale for $189 plus tax, it showed up at the store today. (Slate Grey) I'll have to see if the cabinets go on sale at a deep discount before I jump on one.

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  Рік тому +2

      I haven’t had any problems pushing mine around. I did swap the two fixed casters to swivel casters. That made it a lot easier. And it will have more tendency to tip if you load the attached tool cabinet heavier than the cart.

    Good job. I have never had to do any mods to any of the big box trucks, maybe a couple holes to secure it. Why would US General build add on that needs to be modify to fit?

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  6 місяців тому

      It’s because the end cabinets were made to attach to the roller cabinets, not the mechanics cart.

    Might be better to have the cabinet lined up flush on the backside. Then the surface top lines up when the lids shut and it can sit against walls farther back.
    Depends on your setup ofc. Either is a big upgrade

    Nice video with simple instructions. Thanks! How is the stability? I'm concerned that too much weight in the side cabinet will make the whole thing tilt. I guess if that becomes an issue you could maybe add two casters to the bottom of the side cabinet.

    • @WorkingWithWimberley
      @WorkingWithWimberley  2 роки тому +3

      It was heavy on the cabinet side when it was empty. After I put some tools in the mechanic cart portion, it’s been fine. But I always make sure to push it slowly and carefully. So far so good!
