    I found this quite offensive especially as the comments here show you don't respect Dr Kwon and your commentary just creates confusion and uncertainty and adds nothing. Be much better posting the Shurn rhythm video which is aimed at the viewer if you want people to understand what he's teaching. And definitely with no snarky voiceover.

      Dr Kwon is a genius and has helped many pro players. The guy that made the video is probably a 12 handicap because he doesn’t understand what Kwon is saying

      can't agree more! I took many lessons from difference golf instructor like coaches in PGA superstore, golf smith, golftec and several golf courses and have spent thousands of dollars. None of them explained me well what a good golf swing is and how I should achieve it (guess so I will keep taking lessons from them?). Dr Kwon, on the opposite, explained me well in just 2 session, fixed my slice/hook issues and increased my swing speed/distance significantly! Golf is not an easy game and just like studying for math and science, you need to take your time thinking by yourself to internalize it. Obviously, the creator refused to move forward. @@General_T_West

    I'm just curious, where can I see some of your teaching videos? I clicked the availabke link but it's video of a bunch of other poeple teaching. Can you share some of your stuff? I'm new to golf and realy like the game but have a ways to go with the development of my game. So anything you can share would realy help.

    Your video begins and ends with an appeal to sign up (read: pay) for a premium membership. The value proposition you reference is " ......... access to not only videos such as this one but also but over 300 other videos" and " and as well you help support this UA-cam channel"
    You are fundamentally asking someone to make an investment which would only make sense if there is an exchange of perceived value. In this case, in exchange for money (and time, to watch videos), the consideration you provide are the videos available. By definition there must be defined value in the video or the investment makes no sense.
    Suggestion 1. Convince yourself that your video has value to someone.
    Critique this video based on what specific value is being delivered. Start with a clear statement of the items of value that will be delivered by the end. End with a recap of the features discussed in the video and clearly link them to value the audience should agree they can benefit from (including how).
    Suggestion 2.
    Ask others who have watched the video to (1) identify the specifics of the value they hoped the video would provide and (2) identify and quantify what specific items of value they received and can use at the end.
    I would be very interested in learning the results of your personal critique as described in suggestion one. The fact that I can't identify the value may simply mean I was not the target audience.

    Kwon has 3 segments
    video tape, 3D modeling and analysis and then the final reprogramming. you just saw the reprogramming step. it’s actually 3-4 hour lesson

      That's what I figured Chris, it was hard to tell because Brendan looked slightly confused through the whole process. So, I wasn't sure if the information was new to him or he was just struggling with the overall concept of the lesson.

    I appreciate your commentary, but you cut-in/interrupt so much.. it is hard to really understand what's being taught. I would rather you teach your own swing methods, as oppose to dissecting another instructor's. I've watched a few of your videos, and format is very difficult to understand. Do you have a playlist of your own swing methods?

    You would be better to watch a full session with Dr Keon. During a full session he videotaped baseline movements and showed them to Brendan. As Brendan “got” the concepts he moved to the next step… Dr. Kwon constantly uses video feedback. Watch one of his 4 hour sessions. Brendan heavily edited this post so he could use the full session on his site to sign up subscriptions for his Be Better Golf channel…Loved your analysis by the way.

    i think the guys and gals that are at a pro level or scratch probably started golf as a preteenager and it became almost instinctive for them. where most of us took it up at a later age and it is harder to learn. i say this based on baseball and hockey that i started playing when i was about 4 or 5 years old and used to be good at. i took up golf at 30 years old and now i'm 74 years old and have been a 13 hdcp. for 30 years and i guess that is as good as it's gonna get but i'm always trying.

      Generally, you are spot on - there are always anecdotal exceptions but mostly you are absolutely right . Of course there is a lot that makes up a players score - especially short game and putting - so If you are a 13 hdcp @ age 73 I would definitely not assume that you have played your best golf yet . If you are seriously interested you should get some data - and determine what areas of your game that need the most improvement - and then work specifically on them . Will you gain 40 yrds off the tee in the future - probably not but you can certainly still improve and play better . When I used to teach - i had several students that had played their entire life - at least 50 yrs and were playing their absolute best in their 70s. I remember talking to some of them about it and I thought it was really cool - name another sport where you can be at your best in your 70s - I can't think of any others . good luck

      @@richkost566 I don't believe this video was "critical" of Dr Kwon's playing ability, but more so his "teaching approach". I made it quite clear that the "information" was spot on and I thought was very useful. More so, my criticism was in the "process" of how he relayed the information to Brendan.
      Why don't you re watch the video again, and maybe share it to Dr Kwon and other people if you believe my points to be incompetent. Either way, wish you the best!

    This video is out of sequence. Brendan had already worked with Dr. Kwon. FYI Dr. Kwon starts slowly with using a kettle bell and then uses a rope, etc. Dr. Kwon literally spends hours with folks. He's trying to help us make the golf swing athletic.

      I've seen Brendan do quite well in lessons from certain instructors, and all of them have foucsed primarily on kinesthethic / visual. It seems Brendan learns best when there's "visual" checkpoints that are also matched with "physical support" from the instructor.
      Now also, I do understand Brendan's attempting to make videos about lots of different instructors. So, I've taught people like this before and typically they want the lesson to be more about the "information" than actually getting results. This could make it more difficult for Dr Kwon to control the lesson. However, I think if Dr Kwon would have simply filmed his swing much more and showed the before /after results much more Brendan would have followed along much easier.

    I watch a fair amount of your stuff and to me, you clearly have a good understanding of the golf swing. To keep it short, Dr. Kwon is a bit of a farce because he has admitted for one thing that he can’t swing a golf club himself, so how can he really understand how to teach if he can’t see it from both points of view? Also, if you haven’t seen Shawn Clement, he is a real piece of work who I actually thought was pretty good when I first discovered him. If you watch enough of his stuff, and you know what you’re doing, it’s clear to see through a lot of his exaggeration and misleading teaching practices. There are of course many others on here, but these two are highly respected, but not in my books.
    Thanks

    • @KiwiGolfUS
      @KiwiGolfUS  2 роки тому

      I completely agree Nelson,
      These golf scientists are defintely pushing the golf swing forward, however they really ought to partner with somebody that knows how to distribute information. This might not even be a golf instructor, because most of us don't even know how to transfer knowledge to other people.
      I think if the golf industry could find someone who is an expert in transferring knowledge to other people (world class professor / operations executive / etc) the teaching industry could really reach it's primary goal. Our job is supposed to get the average golfer better so they play more, which will help grow other aspects of the industry.

      If Dr. Kwon is a bit of a farce explain yourself. Not only that what is your qualifications, what are your playing credentials, do you have any? Are you a PGA-certified coach? Based on your pathetic comment about Dr. Kwon I think not. No need to reply back, I already know you know nothing about golf.

    • @pjpredhomme7699
      @pjpredhomme7699 5 місяців тому

      @@georgewalker03 30 + yr pga life member - let me interpret for you - first of all Dr. Kwon is not a golf teacher and is not trying to be. He is a scientist - of bio mechanics - his "exercises" are designed to train /retrain your body how to move more efficiently , more effectively. If you might remember in the 90s there was a company called BASF - and they ran an advertising campaign - we don't make XYZ = we make XYZ better. That is a more accurate description of what Dr Kwon is attempting to do. I can promise you he is not a farce - and i am not a shill for him - I only heard of him a couple hours ago - but there are some subtleties that differentiate what is going on here - but the are important. This is not the typical 30 minute golf lesson - he is essentially programming your muscular/skeletal system to move more efficiently. And then you can use that to play golf . People take their golf seriously - so I am reading some of these comments and it is clear you are not understanding what is going on - that is ok some people like chocolate , some like vanilla - but the man has spent lots and lots of years studying motion and how the body does it - he does not deserve to be referred to as a farce .

    Clearly, you are missing the point. Dr. Kwon is clearly instructing on the biomechanics of the swing. Instead of putting out content where you critique others, why don't you produce your own instruction. Bad look, bad form on your part.
