I liked the okra in the gumbo, but the gumbo I tried had gator meat and a lot of spices, so I’m glad in the movie tiana added Tabasco to heat it up even more but DAMN that gator meat was sooo good.

my whole family is from New Orleans and for someone who isn't from there this is a pretty good representation of gumbo. I've never had my gumbo with chicken but traditionally gumbo was made with whatever you had in your kitchen. Also, this is my first time ever seeing someone using the right sausage!!!
If you’re going to make any other Disney foods. I recommend looking at Dishes by Disney. It’s a series created by Disney on UA-cam where they have recipes from the movies (like Remy’s Ratatouille) as well as foods inspired by the films.
I was adopted from South Korea and so Mulan is definitely one of my favorite Disney Princesses since she is from an Asian culture too. I loved that scene too when Mulan is in the match makers house and the cricket is in the cup of tea. Poor Mulan she tried to warn the matchmaker.
The only noticeable differences between their kitchens are how their countertops are made of different material and the fridges have different magnets;-; They might be living in the same building/are neighbors though O.o

The dessert might be more tasty and fluffy(like in the movie), if you put in the processor a quarter of a tablespoon of baking soda.(I tried it and it works amaizing) Measurements: 6 eggs require about a taplespoon of baking soda, so if you do it with 2 egg it might be a bit more than a quarter taplespoon. I hope you remake this. It’s very-very-very yummy!!

@@recoil53 oatmeal usually has at least some kind of texture and an oaty/grainy taste. Basic congee is even blander and you don't even need to chew anything lol. (Having said that I have a preference for congee but that might be because that's what I grew up with.)
Okayu and congee are pretty much just rice with 5 - 10x more water--super easy to make!! My mother used to make it with dashi (bonito and kelp stock) instead of water to add some salt and nutrients when I was sick 😊
Yes, it's basically like oatmeal but with rice. It's meant to be the base of breakfast, like bread can be. If you go out and get it, there are all sorts of side with stronger flavor.
Awe I love this! Your pot is so cute, and I liked your choices in foods as well. The food that Belle is served always made me want to try it. How about you try to do a batman video with foods served in Batman movies or even just in the animated series or batman beyond? That would be awesome! Also you could do a wreck it Ralph episode with the crazy cake they make for Felix, the candy from Sugar Rush, etc.
As someone from Louisiana, born and raised and currently residing, great job on the gumbo. Note that next time, try it with some crackers. Or even make a seafood gumbo. Use whole crabs. Less rice, more gumbo. Crackers to crumble on or dip in. Soooooo good!

I think oatmeal gets more "meh".
@@recoil53 oatmeal usually has at least some kind of texture and an oaty/grainy taste. Basic congee is even blander and you don't even need to chew anything lol. (Having said that I have a preference for congee but that might be because that's what I grew up with.)

Okayu and congee are pretty much just rice with 5 - 10x more water--super easy to make!! My mother used to make it with dashi (bonito and kelp stock) instead of water to add some salt and nutrients when I was sick 😊
Yes, it's basically like oatmeal but with rice.
It's meant to be the base of breakfast, like bread can be. If you go out and get it, there are all sorts of side with stronger flavor.
Sometimes we get fancy and use a different type of rice. But yeah, it’s basically extra soupy rice.
Substitute water with beef/chicken/vege stock/broth to make it more tasty.... user low sodium or no sodium broth/stock to easy control salty taste

As someone from Louisiana, born and raised and currently residing, great job on the gumbo. Note that next time, try it with some crackers. Or even make a seafood gumbo. Use whole crabs. Less rice, more gumbo. Crackers to crumble on or dip in. Soooooo good!
