My doctor told me in my 40's that if I continued with my line of work I'd be in a wheelchair before I reached retirement, 2 blown knees, a ruptured disc and osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. I was on Prednisone and Methotrexate in recent years. I began Keto, then switched to carnivore and have now been off all meds for over a year, no symptoms or flares! I'm 66 now and have taken up hiking our local mountains and loving it.
@ Richard Mathews....Wow... thanks for the encouragement... I’m 66 facing both knees and a hip replacement! Been on keto in the past went off and felt terrible now been on carnivore for just about a month... I can actually walk again but still painful but going to keep on!! And maybe not have any replacements!... also have stopped almost all pills... Thanks for your story
Omg!! Thank you for sharing your story. It really touched my heart. Because I want to start hiking , but my joints are painful. I'm learning from Dr. Berry what to do and I trust I will get better.
Just an update 5/22/20 🥰😁 I'm happy to say I started following Dr. Berry's advice and my joint pain is almost obsolete. I was scheduled to see a knee surgeon, but canceled because my knees are much better.
An Xray a few years back on my doc's wall he told me my joint has less cartilege and looked worn out. However, I compared the Xray on the wall with a healthy joint xray and frankly mine looked very close. However, the doctor laughed and told me the joint was getting worn out and all he could do for me was some injection. I took it easy on my knees for awhile and they got better. Then I found Keto and now my knees feel like I could run a marathon, in fact walking 18 holes of golf, is something I do often and without any pain. I am sure I could do another 9. I am also using extra ketone tabs and have C8 MCT oil powder in my coffee. It is not unlikely.
@@bitemebizzitch Because oats are grains, (like wheat, rye, oats, rice, corn, spelt, etc.). Grains are bad in general because they are very high in carbohydrates.
Told I had osteoarthritis, then Ankylosing Spondylitis, then Diffuse Idiopathic Stenosing Hyperostosis and not AS. In lots of chronic pain and drugs with awful side effects. Tried epidurals, PT, facet injections, RadioFrequency Ablation still in pain. Switched from dirty keto to now carnivore, after a few weeks already reduced my pain
I am 70 years old and I suffered from chronic back pain at the lumbar level. Recently, an MRI showed several very severe narrowings of the spinal canal at the level of the lumbar vertebrae. The doctors even wondered how I was still standing... and told me that the only solution would be surgery to free the passage. My daughter Charlotte overcame multiple sclerosis just by changing her diet. She hasn't had any treatment for 4 years! And no more new plates! She first yelled at me, then she advised me to switch to a purely carnivorous diet. In a few days the pain disappeared!! And my general condition is improving every day! She was the one who advised me to follow your channel. I would like to encourage all viewers who suffer from osteoarthritis to try the "Low Carb" or "Carnivore" experience, because it is the way to go to repair your body, your joints and get rid of your osteoarthritis.
@Autumn: After she couldn't bear the medications any more, she firstly dropped sugar and glucides which was a first improvement, then she switched to " Paleolitic" and finally (3 years ago) she went for a strict carnivore diet. So do I.
On the carnivore diet felt awesome. Ate grapes. Pain is unbearable now. Going try pineapple and see if that helps. Anyone have any ideas. Can't take too m any pills cuz of kidney disease .
@@marylee8384 I'm not a Doctor, but I advise you to stay on strict carnivore diet: no carb, no sugar, no glucides, no gluten, no fruits, no vegetables, no bread, no pasta. Cut any inflammatory kind of food and you'll recover!
I had rheumatoid arthritis, then ditched the sugar and starches. Never cared for Margarine and such. For my retirement, I was wandering through Europe, carrying my own bags, and hiking and canoeing. Still enjoying life.
Sugar causes arthritis. I've been on Keto for three weeks and my arthritis pain is gone. It stopped in the first week. Even my bunions have improved, my big toes are more flexible. I can sleep on either side not, my hips don't hurt anymore. My problem with my bladder control is over. I don't know if it was the wheat or the sugar, as all wheat products are made with sugar, but I cut all of it out and the difference was immediate. I still eat the nightshades, beans, and legumes, but they are added to other ingredients, such as in soups or salads. They are never the main part of a meal. I have also noticed the outer half of my eyebrows growing back in and regaining color, much less hair loss when I brush or wash my hair. My upper eyelids are slightly less droopy. And the dark shadows I had under my eyes all my life is much less prominent.
UPDATE: 16 months on a "hyper carnivore diet" (70% or more animal foods), and I can again not only walk & dress myself, but when I am strict with it - nothing BUT animal foods - I am 95-100% pain free!! The only arthritis pain left is some sensitivity in my left ankle bone if I step too awkwardly! And I have, at times, tested to see what I can reintroduce, and so far it's only broccoli, asparagus, olive oil, coconut & oil, avocado & oil, and tiny quantities of dark chocolate (a high oxalate food). But all the high oxalate foods, in even moderate quantities, bring the arthritis pain back! And for a while, my leaky gut seemed healed, but then I indulged with wheat at the holidays and seem to have messed it up again. And I've finally decided it's definitely not worth it! ORIGINAL COMMENT below That's wonderful! Sooo happy for you! However, I haven't had sugar in months, but can still barely walk. Turns out there are a couple dozen or more foods causing my arthritic inflammation, starting with all seed oils, dairy, all grains except millet, almonds & pistachios; sunflower, pumpkin & chia seeds; all veggies w lectins; all raw cruciferous veggies; and my most recent discoveries: capers and avocado (😩 I had avocado every day) ! I can't even have avocado oil! So it's wonderful if it turns out to be only sugar that is causing your arthritis, but I suspect it isn't that simple for most people.
@@chrissyellem7397 Sorry to hear that, Chrissy! If I were you, I would transition to a carnivore diet (I almost did, actually) n to only eat two meals per day at most, to eliminate any potential candidates for causing inflammation. And also pay attention to any animal proteins that seem suspect, as their feed can be affecting you as well. (Esp poultry.) Most of the carnivore vloggers on YT started this way: bcz they couldn't get rid of their inflammation otherwise. And THEN, assuming your pain starts to subside, as soon as it is completely gone, you can start adding foods back, one at a time, to discover all your specific causes. For myself, I had reached about 80-90% better, and then had this huge flareup when I had some tahini, which I thought was safe. And after that, I realized I had been using Trader Joe's "Everything But the Bagel" seasoning on virtually everything! (It's made mostly of sesame seeds.) And when I stopped using it, the rest of my pain went away! (This was also a reminder to me that most often, the offending foods WILL be the things we eat most often, probably bcz if it's leaky gut that started the process, it's our fave foods that will most often be what's leaking (to oversimplify, ofc, lol.) That's my theory anyway. So now I am getting ready to slowly add some things back, to test again (incl avocado) bcz I was using that seasoning when testing them initially, so it might have been THAT n not the food tested! (Hoping so anyway, lol.) My point, anyway, is just how hard it can be to find all the things that cause our pain, and why sometimes it's just easier to start by eliminating everything except the animal proteins, which for some reason don't appear to be involved for most of us. Wishing you ease and great success at restoring yourself to a pain-free existence. I know we all deserve it!
Nightshades. I’ve found that for me these are the key. I love tomatoes and peppers and chilli peppers and I was having them daily in a salad. Having eliminated them my joints are back to normal. Brilliant.
I am 73 years old and have suffered my whole life with rheumatoid arthritis. Last year I went on line to see what to do to try and stop the pain. I was on medication and wanted to get off. March 2019 I started eating low carb. It was hard following the keto diet but I did the best I could. Within 2 months I stopped taking the strongest pill for arthritis and was feeling good. I also stayed away from night veggies and beans and grains. My doctor said it wasn’t true about staying away from foods. I was feeling good and continued eating this way. It is now May 2020 and I am off all medications. I also had trouble with my knee and needed a knee replacement. I have lost over 50lbs. And still losing. My knee gives me no trouble at all. I am so happy I found this. I am very happy with the food and am not deprived of desserts, goodies and all that I like. This is easy to do for the rest of my life. The recipes are easy and quick. Wish I could get off of other pills that I take. But at my age I am happy at least I stopped 4 pills. Might be hard to stop any other pills because of my age. But I am very happy
Wonderful that you have found improvement after all these years of suffering. You never gave up. People around you will notice. Your life is a testimony itself.
You are doing great, but please don't say that you have to be on chemical horror pills, because of old age, this is not true! I had terrible sciatica, I never took pain killers as I believed the pain is there for a good reason. Pain though was so bad that if I touched my back where the pain was, I couldn't feel my fingers rubbing the skin on my back because it was so numb. I also predicted I would be in a wheelchair within a year as walking became too painful if i did it for more than 5 minutes. I started keto for other reasons (i never knew it helped back pain) and after a month I noticed my back wasn’t getting any worse. 2 months on my back started getting better, after 6 months, I had my first day without noticing any pain, I was so happy :)

3 to 4 months of keto, my wife's knees got much better. They went from bone on bone, stage 4 severe arthritis to stage 3. They literally x-rayed her and said she was at stage 3, moderate - somehow cartilage got better in there! She was close to getting that knee replacement surgery before trying this - now she's not getting the surgery. Recently she went walking with me and went almost 2 miles at a fast pace! I started keto may 2019 because I am 74 now, but, I have had rheumatoid arthritis my whole life and have always suffered from it. As I got older it got worse. I started keto and had trouble in the beginning but after a few weeks I started to feel better. I was on several medications. After 2 months I got off the worst of my pills and was so happy. Had one more pill to go. When I went to my rheumatoid doctor about 5 months later I told her what I was doing and she said “ no, no,no that is not true”. I didn’t say anything, but, I continued on with keto and went off all my medications within 7 months. Here I am a year and a half later over 60 lbs. lighter and feeling great. This will be my way of life. I’m happy and feel good. I don’t need the rheumatoid doctor anymore and the best I ever did. Do not miss pasta, pizza or goodies because I have learned how to make the keto version and like it very much. I tell everyone that I know who suffer from it, but, I can’t make them try it. Everyone has to do things their way. I have no problem when I go out or to someone’s house. I just bring my own dessert
I can tell you from 14 months of following Dr Ken Berry it works. The inflammation was throughout my body. I was in screaming pain in my back, knees, feet, neck, shoulders etc. Followed his nutrional advice 14 months now life is delicious now. Eat a rib eye pass on the pizza.

Good information Dr. Berry, and absolutely true! I will add a couple of scenarios of my personal experience with your presentation here. I had two split molar teeth, both in the bottom quadrants, left and right sides. One of them had been split for around 10 years, the other for about 4 months, before I started Keto. After about 9 months of strict Keto, I realized one day, my teeth had mended themselves! WOW! Today, I can chew my food up, without any pain, my gums are much healthier and my blood sugar levels are consistently in the 85-95 range. I will also give another testimonial here... My wife and I are older, 65 and 70, she robbed the cradle! Lol. Anyway, last year in June, she had finally gotten to the point of having major dementia issues. Confusion, repeating things multiple times in a few minutes, etc... typical symptoms. I took her off all carbs and sugars, increased her dietary fats, put her on 3,000 mg of high quality omega 3 daily, and had her drink bullet coffee each morning. Within 10 days, you could not tell she had ever had any dementia symptoms! NONE! This led me to addressing my Sons severe ADD. He was 22 and just starting his second year of college. He has always struggled with school. I took him off carbs, same regimen with him. Within 2-3 weeks, he started coming home and saying, "...made an 87, 93, 97, 100... on my test today, Dad". That has never been a part of his vocabulary with his parents. In addition, He started saying,... "Dad, I can't go do that, I have a deadline in one of my classes as of Thursday at midnight. I have a lot of work to do." We had a conversation about 6 weeks in, from changing his diet in which I asked, "What is the difference Son, when you take the Omega 3 and when you don't?" His reply was as follows, "Before, I would have to read things 4-5 times to retain enough to make a passing grade. Also, when I took an exam, I was sure I knew the information, but my thoughts would not complete themselves. When I take the Omega 3, I read the material one time, the information is there immediately!" The parents of kids who have not struggled with ADD or ADHD, do not understand how revolutionary the above statements are! Now, to surmise, I have studied a lot over the years! In fact, I have made a way of life. Because of that fact, I have garnered a fair understanding of diet, body chemistry, etc... In addition, the medical community is now starting to call "Dementia" stage 3 Diabetes. That leads me to these conclusions: (1) The high carb, high sugar, and low fat diet, as promoted by most doctors and the FDA, causes repeated insulin spikes in our bodies daily. Those spikes, over many years, cause damage to all of our body, including our brain. We literally damage our brain, with it becoming insulin resistant, and we starve the brain with the low fat diets we eat. Just look at all the low fat, zero fat products at the food store. (2) My family's collective experience supports the fact that, you can correct those issues, at least in part, by correcting and stopping the daily, multiple insulin spikes, with proper diet and supplementation.
Well done getting your son to comply. My son is thirty years old now, has ADHD and other issues but he just refuses to listen when I try to talk to him about diet (and alcohol) ☹️

I had horrible arthritis age 30 eating high-carb vegetarian. Now at age 62 I run 40-50 miles/week without any joint pain, thanks to keto and intermittent fasting, as well as proper training of course. It's primarly the diet. Ditch the sugar and carbs, learn to fast early and often. Dr. Berry is the best. The only thing I would also emphasize is OMAD...HUGE improvements!
Andre Bonner I've been doing OMAD for about 3 weeks now. I've lost on average 2-1/2 lbs/week. Once you get use to one meal a day the hunger pains will subside. I even got so busy one day I forgot to eat and didn't even feel hungry. I believe eating one meal a day will automatically help reduce caloric intake. Another side benefit is you'll have more time to do other things than preparing meals. The biggest benefit is minimizing insulin spiking. If you want to know more in this subject I would also suggest Dr Berg.

@@realmseeker814 Many people have an intolerance for dairy. But there are those who eat nothing but meat (Mikayla Peterson, Amber O'Hearn, Shawn Baker, Kelly Hogan) who have regained their physical and mental health. Your statement is inaccurate.
@@realmseeker814 You have to keep an open mind on this subject. From what I gather, MANY have had beneficial results. I'm sure you've heard of the "Placebo Effect". This to me is just like faith healing. Besides, we are all the same yet so very different when it comes down to our individual body chemistry. Hell, if you think about it, there are some that can't eat a damn peanut without the prospect of death. This is why I try to read as many posts from you all as possible, somewhere, somehow, ONE OF YOU HAS AN ANSWER THAT WILL WORK. Peace and good health to you and yours.
TY Dr Berry. I have immense respect for you. There is a veterinarian like you who was severely persecuted by the government in Canada because he speaks the truth about animal diets and drug use. God is good.
I was weeks away from surgery ...extreme pain in my left shoulder and couldn't even raise my arm. Thank God I discovered keto (meat, veggies) and dropped my carbs below 20g a day and pain gone!...also dropped 70 pounds!
Yes. Yes. Yes. I'm finally a believer. Gluten, corn or grains of any kind, milk, yogurt, beans, peas/legumes appear to be the bane of my affliction. I had insulin resistance for at least 5 years before diagnosis of RA.Thank you Dr. Berry. We also need to look at autoimmunity from a different angle. It's wonderful to have a real doctor get this!
Thank you from England. When visiting the hospital I asked what actually causes osteoarthritis. The answer was wear and tear. Only thing they said they could do for me was to replace my bones in my hands. I refused treatment as the thought appalled me. I asked for alternative treatment and the answer I was given to me was, there is nothing we can do for you.
Just started carnivore almost 2 weeks ago and can already tell an improvement. I was diagnosed with chronic RA back in 2014 (my knees were swollen like cantelopes!) and have been on a variety of meds during that time. I’m on leuflonomide just 4 days a week now and have been in remission for years. I’m meeting with my dr next week and I just know she’ll be skeptical about a carnivore diet and will always want me to take a pill, but if this can help, I’m on board 100%!!!
Dropped virtually all carbs, after 4 or 5 days my hip pain had GONE, honestly I can’t believe it, been struggling for over a year and this has worked, also take collagen and vitamin d, and taken up rebounding, which I love. I’m 58 next week and feel great again - try it, nothing to lose!
Just been diagnosed with arthritis In my knees....I'm determined to self heal and watching this video Dr. Berry only confirms that I can heal myself or at least I'm giving it my best shot. I have 20 lbs to lose (25 actually) and that's where I start...with the Keto diet. Wish me luck! ...no surgery if I can help it! :) keep the awesome videos coming. cheers Maureen
I took Gluten and Sugar out of my diet 4 weeks ago. It has helped so much. Twice I’ve eaten corn chips and within a few hours by whole body was so stiff and sore.
Avoid grains in all foods (wheat, barley, rye) and yeast (which is usually made using grain). Look at the packet to see if it contains any grains or gluten. Corn (maize), rice, buckwheat, sorghum, amaranth, millet and soy are all gluten free grains.
What’s crazy is that this is 2021 and ‘wear and tear’ is still the official reason for osteoarthritis despite even twenty something year olds experiencing osteoarthritis. I’m only on first week of a strict AIP diet and it has made a world of a difference.
Thank you, THANK you, THANK YOU!!! I have osteoarthritis, and pseudogout artheritis. My knees crackle when I walk, my spine has begun crackling when I move, and now one of my shoulders started doing the same. I had NO IDEA that it could be reversed by DIET. I've already started on my road to a Keto diet about a month ago, and I have a freezer full of red meat, that I'll be living on for a while. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this info!
Have been to numerous orthopedic Dr that insist I need a hip replacement. The famous bone on bone diagnosis. Also gives me severe referred pain in my knee. I’ve resisted believing there’s an alternative. This video is a gift. I will start immediately with Keto. Thank you for posting such an informative video and coming from an MD it carries a lot of weight.
My mom had bone on bone and suffered for 2 years. She did get a hip replacement and finally walked again earlier this year. Sometimes you have to realize you do need surgery. Good luck.
Yes, all this is true. At age 57, six month ago, I went on a low carb diet, ketogenic, periodic fasting. Besides losing over 50 pounds, reaching normal weight, I have almost completely gotten rid of my frequent bad migrains. Also drastically improved my skin. Fissures, rashes, eczemas, skin tags are completely gone. Even some dark spots ( I had thought about getting checked ) on my shoulder are very reduced or gone. I used to always have a sour bitter taste in my mouth. Now my mouth always feel fresh and clean. And yes, I used to have joint pains and aches here and there all the time. This is also all gone. I feel so rejuvinated it's unbelievable. Your videos, Dr Berry, have been so helpful through this journey. So thank you so much and please keep it up, though you may put yourself and your fellow medical professionals out of business when we dont get sick anymore. Or perhaps not with such a food industry, supplying you guys with new victims all the time.
@@debbieb9628 This is an option for removing skin tags that I have tried and have had success with: Put two drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil on the pad of a band aid and cover the skin tag with it. Repeat this two times per day for around a week or until the skin tag has dried up and fallen off. This is completely pain free and will not leave any kind of scar or mark. BTW...I have heard that skin tags are caused by Aluminum in the body...in any case, it won't hurt to use a chemical free deodorant if you don't already.
My doctor and physio are encouraging me to have hip replacement. I REALLY don’t want to do it I’m on 60 days carnivore previously dirty keto. I am seeing some reduction in pain. This is very encouraging for me.
Just starting this Keto way of living, my energy levels are through the roof. Can’t wait for further improvement. Sharing your videos to everybody. Dr. Berry you are a God send! You should be getting a Nobel prize!
72 yo female, healthy weight- I've been eating clean keto for 2 years as well as fasting 16hr /day. Will never go back to SAD bc I lost 65 lbs, but my joints have been very painful for about 6 months- shoulder and hip, mostly. Dx with DJD for my shoulder 6 months ago, now am scheduled for hip xray. I walk 20-30 brisk minutes daily, not really enough but it hurts too much to go longer. On bad days, I use a walker or cane on my morning walk. I know it isn't bursitis bc it doesn't resolve with use. I do eat a lot of dairy, although I don't touch 'liquid dairy'- just lots of cheese, cream cheese, yogurt & butter. Also love tomatoes in my daily salad- so will try eliminating them as they are he only thing mentioned here that I haven't already jettisoned. Hell, I gave up bread, I can give up tomatoes. I drink a TON of black coffee and have been wondering if that's causing inflammation (?) I''m on ibuprofen now, but am not happy with it as a solution. When I asked my doctor if there was any dietary change I could do, he gave me a flat NO.
Some substance in food triggers my RA (68 yr male - had RA for 60 years). I now keep a journal of everything I eat and how my joints are each morning and during the day. 3 years ago I bought a bread machine and started making and eating a lot of my own bread but I then noticed that my RA seemed to be a LOT worse for the months after that - some mornings I couldn't walk! It finally dawned on me that maybe my immune system was triggered by something in the bread. I cut out wheat completely from my diet (which is not easy as it is in brewed and fermented products containing yeast as well as bread, sauces, soups, stews, some flavourings, vitamins and supplements, etc.) and I was a lot better but still some non-wheat 'gluten-free' products for celiacs were causing inflammation so I now avoid all grain-containing products (wheat, barley, rye, oats, etc.). Now my joints are no longer painful or swollen and I don't take any medication at all now! RA is an auto-immune disease so your immune system is reacting to 'something'. If you have good days and bad days then that is a sure sign that a bad day is due to you having previously come into contact with the substance that has triggered your immune system. A tell-tale sign for me is sometimes I get mild stomach discomfort after eating a 'bad' food (like very mild indigestion that goes away after 10-30 mins and so it is hardly noticeable) - and the next morning I am bad! Personally, I find a glass of whole milk helpful. Coffee and apples give me migraines so I gave them up and haven't had a migraine for 40 years! Rice is OK for me. Ibuprofen (just one tablet a day!) caused me stomach bleeding (coffee grounds in vomit) - you need to be really careful with that stuff as people with any gut problems should avoid it, especially people over 50.
Proper alignment and correct functionality is crucial for not wearing out your joints! I always tell people who complain about their knee to stop blaming the knee as it is an issue with the joints below (ankle) or above it (hips). But if they have a systematic issue with all joints it is totally about quality of consumption in food and the toxicity of medications!
Thank you Dr Berry. I am 58 and my ankles are worrying me. I did Keto..full carnivore side Sept. I can tell a difference when I have dairy. Sad, but I am fairly convinced now it's gotta go. Thank you.
Another great vid, thanks Dr. Berry. You have helped my type 2 so much (lower insulin usage and blood sugars) and I'm still working at it. Also I had arthritis in different area's of my body and it's all gone since I switched to keto. I eat meat, eggs and low carb veggies. This has worked a miracle for me. I resent my doctors for not relaying this info to me years ago. Thanks again.
@@devonplumley7600 Hi Devon. Just as in my comment, I "try" to stick to Dr. Berry's food list. Just meat and vegetables. The more I stay away from carbs and sugar the better I feel mentally too. Much better mood and peaceful state of mind.
Thank you. I'm 44 and lost both hips and have them replaced. Instead of making research first, I was listening to surgeons. Now they want to operate my shoulders. No way. I started to do strength training with resistance bands. Eat more proteins and fewer carbs, and I'm having less pain! People, it's not easy but it works and helps. Be persistent and change your diet.
It's true. I had a very sore right shoulder, bad knees, wrists, tennis elbow. Hips so bad too. It's all gone after a couple of very low carb years. I think Dr. Berry looks younger now than when he started making these great videos too!
I have to add either stop eating cooked food or take digestive enzymes with every meal. Also a heaping teaspoon of Knox Gelatin in a smoothie once a day can also greatly speed up joint recovery. Took me 30 years to get rid of my arthritis and always looking for new information to keep it gone at 71. A 10 year study in the 70's resulted in calling arthritis The Cooked Food Disease and that started me on the road to recovery. I added the Knox and total success. As it happens I am now doing Keto and OMAD. I do very heavy labor at 71 and up to 300 pushups per day now as well. Getting younger all the time 👍Thanks Doc. On it.
Dr. Berry, you make a whole lot of sense and I know what you say is correct. Now, what I have to do is work on my self-discipline. Great video and thanks for posting it.
I have been on keto less than a month, now my chronic knee pain is gone. I was astonished when it happened because my knees had been very tight, and in pain for years. Please give it a try, it has worked for a lot of us.
Yes. So many people think joint pain is when you smoke it too short and burn your finger...lol. By The Way marijuana is a "nightshade".... Sorry Dr Ken. Someone was bound to say it sooner or later.... All joking aside I've followed your great advice. Yours is the most logical and least hype on UA-cam...thank you!
Thanks, Dr. Berry. You really care for your patients. I forwarded this video to a friend whose hips are in a terrible condition. She is about 50 and believes that avoiding meat is healthy and using sunflower oil, too. My guess is that she will not want to hear this message, but this way at least I have tried it.
Watching your vedios, I went on keto diet, and i had some many benefits, but tge best part was migraines reduction. Some dats i wake up in the morning well rested, and look around as if i lost something, but tge reality is, after 24 years of severe migraines and after trying everything under the sun for relief, I can't recognize my life, i have to start learning how to enjoy my dats and ny life, without the daily, horrendous pain, the hammer smacking my head, over and over again. Thank you Dr Berry, you are God's gift to us all. God bless you
I was just given an unloader brace for my knee a couple of weeks ago. X-rays show I am very close to bone on bone on one side of my knee. My Doctor said a knee replacement is in my future. I will try to get more controlled on my keto and see how that goes. Thanks for what you do.
So appreciate that your videos are short and to the point! So many of them make you listen for like an hour and a half and then they want to sell you a product
Omg I’m so happy I found this video. I’m overweight and I have been eating a Plantbased diet carb heavy and my joints are inflamed and painful. I’m going Keto tomorrow. Thank you!

In 2012, I got arthritis. I went on the no nightshade diet, because it helped my Mom when when got arthritis at the same age. This diet plus lactose free (lactase deficiency) has helped me much. I am back to being a 10 finger typists. It took me 3 weeks to notice the improvement. If I accidentally eat food with nightshade, I will notice the pain in less than 1 day.
Keto for fives weeks OMG!! My emphysema is 20% improved!! Lost 2 inches from my waist. Mood greatly improved, so much so, that I gave up smoking 2 days ago after 50 years addicted to tobacco (On a vape) zero cravings. Thank you so much 💚
Such important information!!! I have arthritis and even though I’m vegan , I’m going to give keto a try. I work in the operating room and let me tell you the very last thing I would ever want is a replacement , especially a knee replacement. There has to be a better way . Thank you
I went vegan when i was diagnose with arthritis at 32 years, I had a great healthy life style until now at 57 years old , knees and hip pain 🥲, should i eat meat, animal products now? 🤷♀️
Excellent video! I've been eating the ketogenic diet for 9 months now because I have debilitating arthritis in my neck. I had to leave my desk job as an engineer because the pain was so bad. I noticed an improvement in my pain symptoms within one week of starting keto! 9 months later my neck hardly ever hurts at all now. My neck used to make a "grinding" sound when I turned it right to left. Now it's smooth. I think removing the chronic inflammation has allowed the cartilage to start to rebuild. It's very slow, but I predict that within another 6 months or a year it will be fully recovered! I might even be able to return to desk work! However, I'm never going back to eating vegetable oils, sugars and carbohydrates.
I have to thank you for your dedication to health and care for others. Your guidance and information are the epitome of The Hippocratic Oath! You have been a real North Star for me as I started and continue this journey. I have not wavered from the Ketogenic diet for almost a year now. It’s been a slow turn around, but I had a big ravine from which to climb. Blessings to you.
This is really good advice. I know from my own experience. I am a 66 year old female who has had 17 years of pain and inflammation. Two and a half years ago iI ha gastric sleeve surgery, lost 19 kgs in 5 weeks, then went low carb for about 18 months lost another 7 kgs, then I went Keto and did intermittent fasting and have lost 30 kgs all up. I am absolutely stunned at the result and now have started walking more and more in the last two months and everything in my life has improved. All the advice you gave about arthritis I have been doing for a long time, although oranges and mandarins also flare up my arthritis. I wish more doctors gave advice like you do. Just an update 5/22/20
🥰😁 I'm happy to say I started following Dr. Berry's advice and my joint pain is almost obsolete. I was scheduled to see a knee surgeon, but canceled because my knees are much better.
Seems fairly unlikely

And the dark shadows I had under my eyes all my life is much less prominent.
what abt pure honey or anything natural like sweet fruits ?
@@jazzyjazz9872 Dr. Berry calls honey Bee Vomit. Very high glycemic values. Hi carb.
ORIGINAL COMMENT below
That's wonderful!
@@cherylh4688 Agree I cut out a lot of these foods and am still in pain everyday.
(Esp poultry.)
Most of the carnivore vloggers on YT started this way: bcz they couldn't get rid of their inflammation otherwise.
(Hoping so anyway, lol.)
My point, anyway, is just how hard it can be to find all the things that cause our pain, and why sometimes it's just easier to start by eliminating everything except the animal proteins, which for some reason don't appear to be involved for most of us.
Brilliant.
My arthritic hips needed to see this. THANK YOU!
She would have struggled to go even 200 feet before keto.

Does that include natural sugar.
I have cut refined sugar out of my diet to try and help my Rheumatoid Arthritis. A month in, it seems to be helping massively. Early days as this condition flares. Fingers crossed.
Wonderful inspiring story. What brand of omega 3 do you use ?
Not that simple, what about atherosclerosis with high fat and sugar.
Well done getting your son to comply. My son is thirty years old now, has ADHD and other issues but he just refuses to listen when I try to talk to him about diet (and alcohol) ☹️

Dr. Berry is the best. The only thing I would also emphasize is OMAD...HUGE improvements!
Great job freestyle, OMAD is my next challenge (currently doing 16/8: two meals). What noticeable difference does OMAD make for you personally?
Andre Bonner I've been doing OMAD for about 3 weeks now. I've lost on average 2-1/2 lbs/week. Once you get use to one meal a day the hunger pains will subside. I even got so busy one day I forgot to eat and didn't even feel hungry. I believe eating one meal a day will automatically help reduce caloric intake. Another side benefit is you'll have more time to do other things than preparing meals. The biggest benefit is minimizing insulin spiking. If you want to know more in this subject I would also suggest Dr Berg.

Just diagnosed today...I will try 3 months. Thank you.
Did it work for you?
My doctor and physio are encouraging me to have hip replacement. I REALLY don’t want to do it I’m on 60 days carnivore previously dirty keto. I am seeing some reduction in pain. This is very encouraging for me.
Just starting this Keto way of living, my energy levels are through the roof. Can’t wait for further improvement. Sharing your videos to everybody. Dr. Berry you are a God send! You should be getting a Nobel prize!
keto means no carbs??
I drink a TON of black coffee and have been wondering if that's causing inflammation (?)
I''m on ibuprofen now, but am not happy with it as a solution.
@@steve6375 TY for your insight
Stopping sodas has made a huge difference on my pain and inflammation.
I stopped for the most part in my late teens.
Sugar sugar sugar. Avoid at all costs. That includes carbs
Hanna Smith
Only with Rum (+Coke)
Hanna Smith Go all the way! Reduce carbs and all sugars!
He IS younger now😂
I have b12 and iron deficiency
Since I'm vegan
Pamela great story... could you share a few food items you eliminated?
He is handsome and so smart
On it.
@S T lol right
Holy cow! You should have your own UA-cam channel!!
Ken Berry the best doctor ever. I love his teaching. I went carnivore 1 month almost. I have to say I am starting to feel better.
I thought I wore out my shoulder joints. I weigh 543. After a month of carnivore I lost 35lbs. This video gives me hope.
Keep going! Don't give up!
Tobacco is a nightshade, not cannabis
Thanks, Dr.
@armadillotoe Did you continue on keto? Dit it help you?
Well I got rid of beans peas corn...wheat....tomatoes....corn oil....milk...eggs.
Well the paper plates are left and they look good bon appetite
😂
That is so funny!
I Used To Think That! Thanks
LOL
Why eggs??? I literally would die without eggs.... (l know it's a joke but still, eggs are a delight 😁).
Thank you!
Did it help you to change diet, I'm having similar problems.
Most alternative naturopath people had me on vegetables, legumes, grains, nuts, oils,. I went from bad to worse. Thanks for all your messages you give.
Is not that said ?
You make since to me, I love listening to you. I will try this diet for three months and be faithful . because My left ankle has been on fire for 2 days now.
Thank you so much 💚
congratulations this is amazing!
I've NEVER heard a doctor say anything close.....
Thanks for giving us the truths
Such important information!!! I have arthritis and even though I’m vegan , I’m going to give keto a try. I work in the operating room and let me tell you the very last thing I would ever want is a replacement , especially a knee replacement. There has to be a better way . Thank you
Did you manage to get better?
Were you vegan when you got diagnosed with arthritis.
I went vegan when i was diagnose with arthritis at 32 years, I had a great healthy life style until now at 57 years old , knees and hip pain 🥲, should i eat meat, animal products now? 🤷♀️
@@Chris-kr7gg yes . I honestly think the issue for me is gluten . It’s very inflammatory for me but it’s a struggle to give up
@@colinthomson5358 when I cut out gluten it helps but it’s hard for me
Boy have I just found this at the right moment 🙏

Thank you for all your wonderful videos. Pico from Queensland Australia
