I've followed you since almost the beginning of your venture and I still find you one of the most fun to watch...for many reasons but one important one is that you leave your mistakes in there for us to learn from them and to realize that even folks with experience still are finding their way! Congratulations on your success and keep these wonderful videos coming...
My friend and I picked up a rain soaked free desk that was left outside on the sidewalk by someone. It had a soggy “free desk” sign in it..we loaded it up in her van. As we were pulling it out of her minivan the drawers fell out onto my driveway. We tried to put them back in but one would not push back in, it was blocked by something. My friend reached into the back of it to see what was preventing the drawer from pushing all the way back. And Voila! There was a bank night deposit bag jammed in the back. We unzipped the bag and there was $1500 cash in the bag! Wow!
Did you return the money to the owner?
@@BlazingSadles I'm guessing no .....😐
Hey gurl , you need a mask on. My dad worked with wood and got some shavings in his lung 🫁 had a bleeding lung for awhile. You definitely need a mask to protect you just like you wear head phones to protect your ears . JS p.s. I love the color.
Oh my gosh, i love love love everything about these side tables! Gorgeous! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🕊️✌️😀😃😄😁🤗
Love the colour. Looks really great. Love the texture. Think the nightstands came out fantastic!
I do so enjoy your work and am so very happy that you've grown from a DIYer into a business owner. My you continue to realize your dreams into the new year.
The most unusual thing I found in a piece was a lock of baby hair and the dried umbilical cord wrapped in plastic wrap. Fortunately, the hospital nursery card was there too, so we were able to return them.
It’s so pretty. Very pleasant colors, relaxing.
I love the new base. it looks great with the green color. 👍👍👍
thanks!
Love the color and how you changed the bases.
I love love love the bases you added!! Gives it such another layer of interest!!
Love how you just go for it, in the end the nightstands turned out Great!!
Very cool channel. Thank you! I probably would have filled those gap season the sides, but very cool. I've done Venetian plaster walls, which was my favorite finish ever.
These turned out very pretty. Love the color.
Well done. They look great👍🏻😃
Beautiful! Love the color and hardware, too!
Those look nice. Good for about a $200 sale. Green is a tough color to move. White moves. Black moves. Everything else is very spotty.
Love the color, dark knobs and raw base! Looks great ❤
Must be something you need to see in person, because all I can see is the pretty color. Camera doesn’t show much texture. Nightstands are Very Pretty though!!
It's absolutely gorgeous! I want to start flipping. But for. My own use I. Have a kitchen table and a dresser to do. I really enjoyed the video
I absolutely love the venetian plaster on furniture! It's So unique and so beautiful I would love to have pieces like this in my home! Everybody has flat smooth furniture and it's getting very boring and I think that the textured furniture that you created is absolutely exquisite.
Thank you so much!
I love the colour - not sure about the finish but looks so much better than the original! 👏👏👏👏👏👏💕
WoW and WoW!
This is exactly the information I needed to know. Thank you so much for sharing Lauren. You never disappoint with your tutorials. Would love to enter to competition but, I probably couldn't hold a candle some of the more experienced people. I had no idea there was such a thing as Venetian plaster. the final product looks good. I'm impressed with your new skills in woodworking.
I'm so glad! You never know! you should give it a try! We'd love to have you enter!
I really like the base you made for the night stands.❤🇨🇦
Lauren, I LOVE this! Gorgeous work as always and your woodworking skills are always amazing and constantly inspiring me (and making me buy Ryobi products😅).
Another great job, Lauren! I have some questions for you. 1) Why did you use Dawn dish soap for this flip, and is it interchangeable with Simple Green for furniture cleaning? 2) Is the Up Paint Venetian Plaster that you used waterproof, or did you seal it? If yes, what sealer was used? I envision a sweating glass, no coaster, and ruined plaster, but maybe walls are different from furniture? 3) I LOVE the new bases and how they contrast with the Foggy green. Did you seal or wax the bases, and if so, what did you use?
Thank you for the second Flipmas season. Merry Christmas!🎄
You out did yourself with this flip! I think it is unique and the base turned out making the flip stunning. I love it😊❤
Love how these turned out and I especially love those new legs! Very stylish. I can’t appreciate the texture you refer to since I am viewing the video on an iPad and not some ultra high def TV but I love the color. You are really pushing yourself to try new things which is great.
Thanks, Liz!
I love the venetian plaster look, although I personally would probably put a satin clear coat on it, just to give it a subtle sheen.
Love it …love it you are very very talented and brave 👏👏👏
They are stunning!!!
I just love love the color, and natural wood base. Those drawer pulls really and some modern touches. The colors all play off each other perfectly. I found underwear, box of condoms. And then in the other drawer was the Xbox controller, a parent must of taken and forgotten where they put it😊😊
I just got some of the new Limewash paint from Heirloom Traditions and I'm hoping it will give a similar result.
Not an easy look to accomplish but they turned out amazing! They’re absolutely gorgeous!
They look beautiful Lauren! Really like the new base! 🥰🥰🥰
Hopefully you have a contest in the spring or summer months. Very hard to do projects in the garage in winter with the cold weather and not many daylight hours plus the holidays. Love your bravery to try new things! Great job!
I founs World War I ration stamps in a hutch. Pretty cool.
Sickle. That's what I found in a dresser I'd bought. A sickle 😂
Merry Christmas! Nice color! Thanks so much for sharing
I love the way they turned out Lauren
Have a whole garage full of furniture to redo
LOVE your channel and have learned alot from you
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Gorgeous colour! What about a top coat?
I also used a paint additive that gave the painted surface a suede like feel. I did this in my kitchen. Huge mistake as everything clings to it and it's impossible to clean. Maybe good in a bedroom but not the kitchen 😢
Love the color!
They turned out beautiful Lauren - Always good to do things outside the box - though no top coat or sealer for the wood base or the Venetian plaster to preserve it?
I love them! Great job!
Beautiful!!good job!
You are always trying something new! This came out surprisingly well! I'd worry about the wear and tear on the top of this piece, tho with no protective finish. I'd guess that any of the traditional things--poly, wax, shellac--would change the color. Hmm, what to do?
Looks good like the music too
I like the color and the new hardware . I also like the new base. I think the base would look good with a nice stain .
I found the original receipt from purchase of a 20’s Secretary. Also, a letter from the 50’s that the owner received from a lover. Racy!
How do you dust or clean it? It didn’t need a top coat and why?
They look amazing!
Beautiful work! ❤😊
I love it…it is a success!!!
Cute. Are you going to seal the wood legs?
I found a gold bracelet in a piece once!
I love those
This is such a beautiful color combo with the base. I have a dresser I just got that I plan to build a base on similar to this. I haven’t tried it yet and a little nervous about it bc of wood splitting issues. I’m impressed with how the plaster turned out - it looked kind of difficult to work with on a project like this.
Thanks! It was a bit tricky for sure but looks great at the end! for building the base, drill pilot holes and that should help prevent the wood from splitting! Definitely use pocket holes and the correct screws and you should be good to go!
@@FurnitureFlippingTeacherperfect, thanks!
Venetian plaster is super on trend right now! Well done :)
It looks nice
I love these.
Really nice work! I never advanced to actually making changes to the design like platforms but I love what you did with the platform.
This technique might be extra nice for a really damaged piece of furniture that couldn’t otherwise be saved unless it was given a textured surface. The color is beautiful. I’ll be interested to see how that sells. If you start making room for gnats in your store, it might be an interesting wall treatment to do, too. Give your customers some more design ideas.
Did you use a topcoat at all? Or atleast on the wood base?
Would it need a top coat?
Not necessarily weird, but Personal correspondence. Best thing was a small Limoges tray 😊Thanks for sharing and all the tips! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours.
Like the drawer shape💃
I found someone’s diary from the 80s under a drawer. That was very interesting.
Just started. But this dresser had a black widow. I was lifting it into the truck. Felt something on my finger. I gutted it out and slid the dresser into the bed and there she was. I was shaking hands with a little black widow. Thank goodness I didn’t get bit. 😂
Love the color. Love the feet. Does UP have that color in their regular line and not Venice plaster?
I once found a gold Indianhead two dollar coin, that was worth around $400. Yes, it was a good day.
Looks so good.pretty color.💖
When you get furniture, write yourself a little post it note where and when and cost and tuck it in the top drawer! :) It will refresh your memory when you flip that piece a few months --or even years --later.
yes! great idea! I ended up looking back on my FBMP messages and I was right that I got them for $50! 🤗
Love the color! Yay for greens! Have you ever used limewash paint?
The weirdest thing I’ve found, all in one nightstand: a traffic ticket, an accident report and a court summons, also a $50 crate & barrel gift card 😂 it was a wild nightstand 😅😂
Bello color
Is the base raw wood?
A brand new pack of fruit of the loom underwear, in my size!
Great look
That colour is great. I'm not sure that I'd use the Venetian plaster technique though, and definitely agree that the furniture must be perfectly flat because those lines next to the edges and the front drawer panels would be very difficult to fill and smooth. The legs turned out great - I love that look of taking off the old, dated feet and replacing with something a little more modern. It really makes all the difference.
Did you clear coat the top?
Beautiful!!
Weirdest thing I’ve found was hoochie pics of the former owner. Coolest things I’ve found is a packet of “Boys Life” magazines from the 1920’S
I saw a HGTV show where they used Venetian plaster on kitchen cabinets. It's a great look.
What would be the best topcoat or sealer for a white coffee table with 4 drawers. Help Thank you That green color is beautiful 😍
Use a waterbased polyurethane. Waterbased won’t yellow the white.
Love ❤️
My son is a professional painter. When he does Venetian paint techniques, the wall shines like glass from the burnishing.?
I think they ar beautiful!
Beautiful ❤
I did a venetian plaster paint in my bathroom. Huge mistake! It looked beautiful when first done BUT, after a few years all the moisture from showers....I assume, caused it all to crack. Now I'm not sure if I have to sand back all the walls before repainting or if I have to take all the walls down and install new drywall??? Ugh, what to do to fix this mess?
I really enjoyed this episode of "Flipness No. 11"!
I found a 1 karat diamond ring taped under the bottom of a nightstand. I got out of a dumpster, and I took it to a friend who had a pawnshop to see if it was registered, but it wasn't
He offered to buy it for $800, but I decided to keep it
I forgot about the strangest thing we’ve found in furniture question. I don’t know think of it as strange, but I found a marriage certificate from either the 60s or 70s in a set of nightstands I got from an estate sale. I found it to be a poignant reminder that we are but a vapor.
The whole idea of the venetian plaster walls is to have layers and more texture of plaster. If u r wanting g smooth, this technique would not be for furniture. As an artist, I painted my large kitchen and applied Spanish menus. Buffed it in different ares which became beautiful. This was 25 yrs ago and venetian plasterers not in any store. Ordered it online, took more than a month to receive it.
I once found a pack of lettuce seeds dated 1945 in an old desk I bought.
Quedaronbellas❤
I ❤it
They are beautiful but you forgot to use glue again.
