You SHOULD keep the glass on top. They are in good condition because of that and they took care of them. Furniture always stays nicer with the glass somehow.
Opinions differ, but I like glass on top of pieces in a bedroom to protect from water damage. For those who like protective glass it’s fairly inexpensive to have sheets of glass custom cut. You can get the glass shop to put little wafers under the corners to provide a little airspace between the furniture top and the glass.
It is up to the owner AND I do keep glass on top of my wood. I’m constantly spilling crap and putting crap on top, plants, drinks, etc…. So the glass tops are an extra score for me. 😊
I’ve been watching you for while. I love the fact that you wear clothes that have stains on them. Many people on other channel wear their best clothes without a drop of stain or paint on them. I also love that you admit that you don’t know something.
Looks great! I think you'll be even happier with the nightstands if you put the glass back on top of them. They will protect the finish and glass is a lot easier to clean/dust.
Awesome job, Lauren! Personally, the glass tops really do protect the furniture and why not use them when you already have them! It is crazy where I find cups and bottles left in my place!
Speaking as an Interior Designer, I agree with you. A wider drapery rod with stationary side panels, perhaps with a larger format green print, behind the bed will create the illusion of a much wider window. The panels should not extend any further than the sides of the bed. The side window should also have matching side panels.
Lauren, I adore this furniture set! You found some real gems! I’m so happy for you!! Enjoy!!🥳 Ps…the long dresser would be great in dining room or as a tv console!! It’s my favorite piece!!
I’m so glad you kept them for yourselves! They turned out Beautiful Lauren. I love the green. YAY! I am so happy for you. You were just glowing at the end. You should do a few more pieces for your own home. You two deserve it. Congrats!
Lauren, I don't blame you for being absolutely giddy over this gorgeous bedroom furniture! Though I'm not a huge fan of MCM furniture, these pieces are spectacular! I love the color you chose and how these pieces really add to the sophistication & utility of your bedroom! Perfection! Thank you for taking us on the journey,
Do your neighbors ever just stop by to see what you’re doing or do you meet a lot of your neighbors that way? I can’t imagine being your neighbor and not wanting to see what your new projects are. Lol! I’d be the biggest nosy Nelly! It’s just so fascinating to see someone do such cool transformations!
Lauren, these are absolutely stunning. You have outdone yourself and I’m so glad that you’re keeping them for you and Nieman. I love the two-tone and I think the colors are perfect. As much as I’m really not a fan of glass tops, I think it is a good idea to use them on the nightstands. It’s a lot less worry and easier to clean. Great job, take care stay safe.
You got the buy of a century with this furniture manufacturer! Classic! This quality you can’t find anymore, even really luxury brands do not have this amazing workmanship. I’m in San Francisco and if I were fortunate to have found this set it would sell for over 2k in its condition!! Scored! You were right to keep these for yourselves. Enjoy for years to come. Kudos for the professional job you performed.
They look great. Usually not a fan of the 2 tone look but love these especially the gold hardware. I thought you hit the jackpot with the glass tops and would definitely put them back on. Makes them look more finished and expensive. Also agree with someone who said put long curtain rod up and hang panels on outside of window for appearance of bigger window.
Just watch this video I would have kept these pieces as well. They turned out great. Have you ever watched transcend Furniture gallery? She does a lot of veneer repair you can pick up a lot of good youthful tips regarding that skill from her. Keep up the great work!
the leg bases are probably dowelled in and that's what you are seeing. if it was a plug we wouldn't be looking at end grain and it would likely be flush instead of inset.
Came out beautiful and yes keep the glass. Put it back on it will help from getting scratches and stay beautiful. Great job. Will have to show us when the room is complete with your decor. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️
Green is my favorite color! I was just looking at various shades for my living room. These pieces turned out great, Lauren. You always do such a lovely job on whatever piece of furniture you're working on for your channel.
Sue Wolfe- Stunning transformation of these pieces, Lauren. Enjoy them. I'm always impressed at your ability to make so-so pieces into works of art. I'm so glad you're the recipient of all your hard work! I would probably keep the glass as it adds to the uniqueness of those pieces. We had mcm furniture growing up and I now grasp why we had the glass. But boy, is it expensive. It'll save your finishes, no waterspots or damage to the wood. That's why you found it in such good shape! Enjoy!! 😉👏👍💪❤️
KEEP THE GLASS, trust me! Store it if you need to, but custom pieces like that are expensive to get, and that glass will protect the tops! You can put a glass on there without worrying about the wood. Love the green!
Oh Lauren! I was not a fan of the paint or the idea of painting the pieces as I could see them beautifully refinished with a non-orangey yellow stain, but, I have to say I absolutely love your design! You nailed the colors so beautifully and it is just gorgeous! Thank you for making this video and helping to convert me from always saying no to paint to someone that can appreciate and love newly painted pieces. Honestly I would love these in my home too! Great job!
Love how these turned out! What is so great about these pieces is that you can break them up if necessary and use the two bedside tables as end tables if you needed to.
Absolutely gorgeous! Love the green color. I was a bit skeptical about painting the handles, but you were spot on and they are perfect. I remade a similar piece for my I own bedroom and its my favorite piece too because it was for me. Made with love! Well done. I'm addicted to your videos, you remind me of me. No challenge to big or small, you master them all! Awesome
For brass boil pit this in a solition of water and vineger boil and super easy to clean.we clean our brass lamps in india like this. If u have tsnarind paste, lemon juice u could use those too. Even spoiled sour yogurt will work.
Use the glass because they're in the shape that they are because of those, otherwise where are u going to keep and store them? When you get tired of them price them high!! Gorgeous pieces!!
Love the green you chose. It looks so rich and really custom to be sure. That was a great buy and I love that you shined up the hardware and made it all just perfectly brand new. So so gorgeous. It's going to be so fulfilling to do something for yourself from time to time. Love to watch and get some good ideas. Blessings to you both and have a beautiful weekend.
I love the color combination. You always do a careful and neat job. Enjoy your new designer bedroom. You deserve it. Glass tops will protect the surface of the furniture from water, scratches and dings.
WoW they turned out amazing! I'm normally a bright kinda gal, but these colours are lovely and calm for the bedroom. I love your videos, especially the long videos, the way you film, talk and lovely music. Just LOVELY!! xxx
Congratulations 🎉 on a great find definitely keep the glass on top of all three pieces. My mother was an expert at keeping her furniture looking brand new for 50 years until she died. Now I'm using some of her furniture. And my sister and her grandchildren are using some of her furniture. Oh, yes and some of the furniture came from my mother's and father's houses. I guess you could say my family values and cares for our furniture.
I know it looks prettier without the glass, but I would definitely keep it on the night stands. I would store the piece of glass for the dressor, but probably not out it on top because I wouldn't be setting anything on top of it.
❤ the remake! I just recently set up a temporary spray booth..plastic sheets hung from the rafters of the garage..and bought a small sand blast gun from Harbor Freight for less than $30. Let me just say that should you try this YOU WILL NEVER LOOK BACK I PROMISE 😮. The media used to blast is baking soda...I bought 3 of the giant boxes at dollar general at maybe $3.80 a box and was just shocked to see how effortlessly the finish came off a old singer sewing cabinet..RIGHT TO THE ORIGINAL OAK VANEER! ..MIND BLOWN..It was like magic, dusty, dusty magic. Not saying that it would take paint off (maybe with different media?), but try it on an unpainted piece, use eye goggles and a good mask and if you prefer a spray suit because you will look frosted by the time your done lol..sorry to rattle on but I have retired my scrappers 😅
Those look gorgeous! Well done! Personally, I'd choose bedding that pops (but doesn't overwhelm) with these pieces but that's just a matter of preference.
Lauren it's beautiful beautiful beautiful I don't know why I thought you couldn't you always do a great job you do a great job with anything you do keep up the good work I love watching you it's one of my favorite pastimes
Personally I would keep the glass on all of the pieces it’s a great set well made and well designed and expensive looking and probably was back in the day love what you did with it I paint the backs of my pieces as well just in case I want to position them in a different way than the norm
Do you know that this is the FIRST time I gave seen the attraction of this period of furniture. And like this music. And the filming is super duper. Especially that view from above. Thank you.

I do think you should let the paint cure before adding the glass...
Just gorgeous! Side panel draperies to widen that window would take the look to the next level

I would ue the glass.
I was thinking the same thing.

I'm not nosy but I love see what people create. I would 100% be taking the dog for a walk to catch a peek! 😊

They came out great the two tone is really in right now .❤
Carbide scrapers are great for removing the bulk of whatever paint, varnish, etc. Also it doesn't create a bunch of dust
LOVE the result! I like too that you have an option to use glass tops or not. A really amazing value for the money. You two are so smart!
You picked the perfect stain color to go with the green. Love it!

The finish is best kept original, the glass is wonderful.
I absolutely love this set. Green is my favorite and I'm also a huge fan of the two tone with paint and wood or even different contrasting wood tones.
They turned out amazing! I like that the night stands have the higher edge so nothing can roll off under the bed or behind the stands. Beautiful!
Beautiful furniture so glad your keeping them
Green is my favorite color! I was just looking at various shades for my living room.
These pieces turned out great, Lauren. You always do such a lovely job on whatever piece of furniture you're working on for your channel.
I love the cactus color! Beautiful gray-green color!
Love this! Personally I would keep the glass on top, for protection and gives a nice gloss and flamboyance to it.

Lauren the sage green is lovely and calming especially for a bedroom.
I love what you did, a wonderful transformation!! I would use the glass, it just makes the pieces look more complete and more expensive 👏👏
Now you need to refinish the long dresser for a sideboard in the dining room. You do such an amazing job.
You did a fine job! They look so much better. I love the way you used a combination of stained and painted wood, it looks classy.
KEEP THE GLASS, trust me! Store it if you need to, but custom pieces like that are expensive to get, and that glass will protect the tops! You can put a glass on there without worrying about the wood. Love the green!
Love!! That green is beautiful. The style is great and it's real wood. You can use that for years to come.
I absolutely LOVE the hardware. I was always wondering how to update those kind of MCM pulls. I see them broken and I'm definitely not a wood worker.
These are GORGEOUS!!!! LOVE the green with that stain color! Absolutely gorgeous!!! Great job!!!😊🎉

450 is an awesome price to furnish your home and nice wood!
Those look gorgeous! Well done! Personally, I'd choose bedding that pops (but doesn't overwhelm) with these pieces but that's just a matter of preference.
Definitely keep the glass tops, which is why the tops look so good. do the night stands have a pull out tray?
Great job! That furniture came out beautifully. May you enjoy it for many years!

Your creativity is endless and well executed! Thanks for sharing
Glass tops are Great for these pieces! They look beautiful!
You got a bargain on the set. The design is unique. Stunning.

Do you know that this is the FIRST time I gave seen the attraction of this period of furniture. And like this music. And the filming is super duper. Especially that view from above. Thank you.
Learned something, apply water prior to water based stain, Ty!
Beautiful! It looks as though the night stands might have a piece that slides out...like a built in cutting board.
