@vexdali388 "Draenei being tieflings" I don't know about that. The tieflings as the red demon people you know only really came to proeminence after 4e, in 2008, while TBC was released in 2007. Prior to that tieflings were way more subtle in their demonic aspects, only really having one or two characteristics at most, to the point of some even being somewhat racially ambiguous.
I have only been playing WoW for a short time, but I chose to level one of my characters through Warlords of Draenor and I will never forget the feeling of first stepping into the Spires of Arak. You're forced to enter down a winding mountain path overlooking the jungle with the high Arakkoan spires in plain view. The first thing you see are masses of Arrakoan Outcasts pushing carts and carrying bags with all of their belongings passing you, heading up the path and out of the forested valley of the Spires of Arak. A lot of them exclaim about being displaced from their homes and then you see a pair of Outcasts standing at the edge of the mountain path and looking over the forest towards the spires. As you approach the two Arrakoa, a giant beam of focused sunlight blasts out of the top of the tallest spire and into the forest below and one of the Arrakoa just plainly says "There goes 'so-and-so' village." and together they lament the great loss of lives before continuing on the path up the mountain with the others. It's such powerful visual storytelling and filled me with such a devastating feeling of dread. I blazed through the Spires of Arak with a thirst for retribution for the Arakkoan Outcasts.

Race wise all Ive ever wanted was a tail for my Worgan so I wont look like I'm wearing a diaper anymore. Running wild being regular ground mount speed would be nice too. They'll put tails on pandas, they'll put in other fur bearing races with tails, they'll give the Draenei extra tail options and jewelry But, they won't give werewolves tail, and its actually angering.
@PlatinumWoW I was pretty sure Rukhmar left the continent of Draenor and created the Arakkoa in that distant land. Also stands to reason because the Gorian empire comes from the continent to the south west of Draenor.
Fun fact about Terokk: it's the main meme hero for Heroes of the Storm since Deathwing Besides that, we have the Arakkoa from tbc that are devoted to light and the ones from wod Aviana seemingly invited to join her. I can see both forms joining the playable races someday, maybe having the corrupted form from wod joining the horde and becoming closer to trolls (as they have more knowledge about spiritual realm, death, loas..) and the uncorrupted joinning the alliance, as the ones from tbc could be "restored" by the Light. Daydreams lol
terrokk was the only warcraft universe hero I wanted to see in HOTS may be a treant race too. Sad that we couldnt get it but we may get an expansion and that would probably be the only thing that can make me return to wow

Might have been cool if the Horde could pull a race in from Kul'Tiras as well, like those spooky wicker assholes.
The Arakkoa, if ever made playable, could have Body Type determine if you have a Pure or Outcast player model. Would be an excellent way to bring them in. And a dope creepy bird-dude as a Warlock or Shadow Priest would be god tier.

It's so generous they have a guide to show Arakkoa around the Darkmoon Faire :,D
Everyone that has their toon in the credits, i want you to know I do look at them, love seeing you guys!
As a long time player (vanilla) and lore fan. This video has sold me on wanting a sketis class! Great video.
I remember entering the Spires of Arak for the very first time:
You talk to a guy, a few Arakkoan walk by... then suddenly everyone starts running for their lives and a laser-death-beam is being fired at the settlement you’re heading towards.
That’s how you start a zone/questline.
Great content Platinum!! Loved that last remark lmao!!
Ever since looting the Cursed Feather of Ikzan in WoD I've wanted them as a playable race, both arakkoa forms looks so cool
Fun fact about Terokk: it's the main meme hero for Heroes of the Storm since Deathwing
Besides that, we have the Arakkoa from tbc that are devoted to light and the ones from wod Aviana seemingly invited to join her.
Keep making videos like this! More main characters like Arthas please :). Extremely fun and enjoying to watch.
terrokk was the only warcraft universe hero I wanted to see in HOTS may be a treant race too. Sad that we couldnt get it but we may get an expansion and that would probably be the only thing that can make me return to wow
An amazing tribute to our winged friends/enemies! They enrich Draenor/Outland and WoW as a whole a lot.
High and Corrupted Arakkoa each make great future allied races.
Thank you so much Plat! The Arakkoa is one of my favourite race's, I'm so glad to see your video about them. Tbh 10/10 max quality video my man! Thanks for the vids&content, keep up the good work! 🥰
Finally seen teh lore of the "skeksis"! Thank you, Platinum, you really did a good and perfect job again! ^^
You could maybe do a video on the Arakkoan story in WoD, like the quests you play through. It’s been years but I remember Iskar had a cool story.
Ra-ak! Trinkets, yes. Pretty trinkets! Ak! Power, great power. Ra-kaw! Power in trinkets! Ak-caw!
I hate WoW at this point but I always loved the Arakkoa
I was hoping that the snake people in BfA were gonna be a playable race due to being less cutesy and stuff too. I genuinely assumed for a while that they'd become an Alliance race since they were fighting the Vulpera, who joined the Horde. Would have added much needed flavor to the faction. Might have been cool if the Horde could pull a race in from Kul'Tiras as well, like those spooky wicker assholes.
As a fan of the Skeksis from The Dark Crystal and the Chozo from Metroid, I have always loved the Arakkoa. Especially the cursed ones.
I'm a new wow player. I am really enjoying your lore videos. Thank you for putting so much work into those. I appreciate it.
i love the way they look, i have the time-lost figurine and i always use it
Real question is, would you want to play as an uncorrupted Arakkoa, or the short corrupted version
Man this vid is one of your best the comedy and flow is so good. 10/10
The Arakkoa, if ever made playable, could have Body Type determine if you have a Pure or Outcast player model. Would be an excellent way to bring them in. And a dope creepy bird-dude as a Warlock or Shadow Priest would be god tier.
Ah yes just explant them perfectly "If the Arakkoans love two things its shine objects and killing each other"
Arakkoa made BC honestly. I loved going through all the zones and doing the quests way past level cap.
I agree heavy with your closing statement about races.
Wow. the old Arakkoa look awesome. I would love them to be a new playable race. Imagine having uncorrupted and corrupted versions to play as depending on what class path you go down.
The Spires of Arak questing was really good. Makes me want to do it again.
I can definitely see the flightless Arakkoa joining the Horde.
I mean... if the Horde could stop naming settlements after people like Kargath, that'd make them joining a bit easier
The Arrakoas helped the alliance when they entered the Dark Portal. In addition to them being enemies of Killrogg's clan (see killrog lords of war).
*Arakkoa used Solarbeam!*
Plant People: "Wait... that's supposed to be our thi-"
*Instant burnt salad*
I also would love to see more monstrous races to play. I've always hoped for a a Druid form of Eldritch Horror.
Totally agree on the we need more monster playable races. I want to be cool...
my fav race!! i wish they were playable! had no idea they had so much lore
the burning crusade model is my FAV i use the toys to change my appearance for them off cd
I always figured we would get 1 flying race in Alliance and Horde, Arakoa and Harpy, and 1 underwater race, Naga and something(Tuskar definitely Tuskar)
I too remember the years before DP. Then there was the years of the Open Portal followed by the years of AP.
The safe word is trinkets.
Its still wild that so many of these races are still not playable.
Heck yeah! We need playable scary raven people! Imagine the possibilities for spooky Outland-themed druid forms.
I loved the little cameo by Mr. Sunflower
