Makes you wonder why mass infantry formations are still used in warfare within universe if such devastating area of effect spells are a thing or atleast why no army seems to NEVER try and employ shielding magic or try to dispel enemy magic with y'know their own magic users to protect their warriors and or soldiers from getting annihilated. It's weird the supposedly intelligent trolls that have shown to have magically proficient members of their societies didn't seem to have ANY sort of protection for their forces against the magically powerful elves and their human allies which makes me question how the trolls were such a legitimate threat to the elves in the first place and even the humans. No one seems to learn anything within universe and stubbornly refuse to acknowledge the power of magic and NEVER adapt to it nor embrace its abundant usefulness, they don't use such awsome powers to their fullest potential nor use it intelligently.
@@navilluscire2567 You can't say none are deploying shielding magic. You can see lightforged draenei forming light shields over Arom's stand in Kul Tiras for example. And in w3 belfs have literally a unit based on stealing magic from enemies called spell breakers. Trolls do use magical protection now and probably used even back then while fighting high elves. But their strength came more from the knowledge of the land, their massive numbers and Guerrilla warfare before the main attack. The reason they were so quickly defeated by human magic is, that a) they thought humans weren't able sorcerers, Thoradin kept their training in secret. b) they thought they are close to victory with their guard down and drunk with triumph c)Arcane magic cast by humans is far more explosive and volatile (for example, elven student can light a candle, elven master can burn down a house. Human student can burn down a house, human master can light a candle.) so trolls weren't prepared for so strong magical ambush. Btw I do not seem to recall much magical forest troll prowess. They are mostly non magic fighters and few priests, that are greatly dependant on their loa. To consideration must also be taken, that this conflict happened more around 3000 years before the opening of the Dark portal, so there is great difference between magical studies then and now.

It still annoys the hell outta me we can't play human shamans and druids. It is physically possible, it exists within the history of lore, but because 'most people these days' don't adhere to those ways of life - we're automatically locked out of it.

They can afford to give one more class to humans. Not to mention the fact that Blood Elves have access to Demon Hunter *and* all but two classes.

Don't remember the Trials of Tyr from the Legion Artifact Books. I thought he recruited the overly religious humans of Tirisfal by promising to make the Light into the only religion of his united kingdom.
Your character is the most important guy in wow history. He took part in the biggest events in wow. He saved the Titans, the world multiple times, killed The Jailer, rescued guys trapped in Death, fought Odin and Deathwings... and probably murdered to death thousands of enemies. He also killed Hogger.
It has taken me a really really long time to realize, but re watching this a spark lit up, the Allaince between the Arathy and the Elves is almost the same as the one between the humans of the Empire of man and the High Elves in Warhammer Fantasy. The Difference being that the result, in warhammer the Colidges of Magic, did not end up in dependent like Dalaran, because Warhammer is a much more brutal world, where the practicing mages outside the sanctioned schools are considered witches and thus hunted down by zealous witchhunter who un their most generous days may give them a chance to join the Sanctioned schools, but for that to happen the stars need to align and said wichhunter needs to have had an exceptionally good day/ week! Meanwhile Dalaran is a city-state which none is policing! Can you imagine if another mages rises to the top corrupts the council and turns the Flying Fortress into a weapon and starts nuking everything in Azeroth. Back to the point, the original Blizzard devs and writers were ofc fans of warhammer, so Yes it's no surprise there, current writers are Bronies, judging by DF, and probably Fin Dom simps in we consider their fetish for Sylvanas for the duration of the previous 2 expansions! Btw dude you should make a channel called Plat Hammer and do Warhammer fantasy lore in the same style as the WoW lore you do here :) Hopefully Metzen brings us back on a path to lamost Warhammer but just difernt enough to not chum the waters for the Sharks at GW :)

The story of Thoradin does remind me of a certain human noble barbarian in a certain other universe starting with S and ending with -igmar. Then I remembered that Warcraft was once a Warhammer project which later split off. Carry on.
With the Arathi being one of the main peoples we med in War Within, you should make a recap video about them specifically. According to the lore so far in WW, the Arathi have a full empire on the other side of Azeroth, and the ones we meet underground got teleported there 15 years ago.

I love how you present the story in a digestible and humorous way. This time period of WoW is so much more engaging than anything they're doing now. Anything right up through Wrath of the Lich King is good. Then it just nosedives.
I knew NONE of this and it is easily some of the coolest lore. This gives me a new appreciation for humans in wow, and very, very well told!

With the Arathi being one of the main peoples we med in War Within, you should make a recap video about them specifically. According to the lore so far in WW, the Arathi have a full empire on the other side of Azeroth, and the ones we meet underground got teleported there 15 years ago.
