Makes you wonder why mass infantry formations are still used in warfare within universe if such devastating area of effect spells are a thing or atleast why no army seems to NEVER try and employ shielding magic or try to dispel enemy magic with y'know their own magic users to protect their warriors and or soldiers from getting annihilated. It's weird the supposedly intelligent trolls that have shown to have magically proficient members of their societies didn't seem to have ANY sort of protection for their forces against the magically powerful elves and their human allies which makes me question how the trolls were such a legitimate threat to the elves in the first place and even the humans. No one seems to learn anything within universe and stubbornly refuse to acknowledge the power of magic and NEVER adapt to it nor embrace its abundant usefulness, they don't use such awsome powers to their fullest potential nor use it intelligently.
@@navilluscire2567 You can't say none are deploying shielding magic. You can see lightforged draenei forming light shields over Arom's stand in Kul Tiras for example. And in w3 belfs have literally a unit based on stealing magic from enemies called spell breakers. Trolls do use magical protection now and probably used even back then while fighting high elves. But their strength came more from the knowledge of the land, their massive numbers and Guerrilla warfare before the main attack. The reason they were so quickly defeated by human magic is, that a) they thought humans weren't able sorcerers, Thoradin kept their training in secret. b) they thought they are close to victory with their guard down and drunk with triumph c)Arcane magic cast by humans is far more explosive and volatile (for example, elven student can light a candle, elven master can burn down a house. Human student can burn down a house, human master can light a candle.) so trolls weren't prepared for so strong magical ambush. Btw I do not seem to recall much magical forest troll prowess. They are mostly non magic fighters and few priests, that are greatly dependant on their loa. To consideration must also be taken, that this conflict happened more around 3000 years before the opening of the Dark portal, so there is great difference between magical studies then and now.
His mannerisms and way of speaking made him seem like he was ripped right out of one of Nixxiom's old warcraft machinimas. It was a lovely nostalgia trip to be honest!

It still annoys the hell outta me we can't play human shamans and druids. It is physically possible, it exists within the history of lore, but because 'most people these days' don't adhere to those ways of life - we're automatically locked out of it.

After reflection, i prefer be a scufed vykrul rather than a scufed mecagnome or a better troll ( wich mean better at being a looser probably ? like loosing a tree, loosing war against bug, made the world explode, etc. ). I feel fine as human.
I seemed to recall Ignaeus Trollbane was the head of the Trollbane family when the humans all left to form new kingdoms. His family and a few others remained in Strom and renamed it Stromgarde.
It's what happens when you fight multiple wars vs 7ft tall roided orcs and your own people afflicted with undeath. Humans are just scraping by to survive in WoW lmao
Yeah the Orcs kicked them so hard in the balls that they are still recoiling to this day, they'll probably get their act together at some point but probably not with their current king.

Your character is the most important guy in wow history. He took part in the biggest events in wow. He saved the Titans, the world multiple times, killed The Jailer, rescued guys trapped in Death, fought Odin and Deathwings... and probably murdered to death thousands of enemies. He also killed Hogger.
Actually lore wise Stromgarde was rebuilt into a legit city now as Arathi was conquered by the alliance in canon. Think of the alliance winning the warfront and it just stays that way.
I mean yeah but with more of a warcraft flare. Its a time in Azeroth that is unexplored so it would give the writers some freedoms and not stray to far from the lore.
This video made my day. It makes me want to take a deep dive into the lore again. I don’t like how the game plays nowadays but I’d play it again to experience these quests for the lore

The story of Thoradin does remind me of a certain human noble barbarian in a certain other universe starting with S and ending with -igmar. Then I remembered that Warcraft was once a Warhammer project which later split off. Carry on.
To be honest the current human kingdoms would be loads better if their medieval-esque armors didn't look like sh*t and or looked exactly the gods damned same between each other. (except Kul'tiras now) It doesn't help that all humans within the Alliance have to ALL were the same generic armor instead of y'know *having regiments that represent their respective kingdoms or atleast what's left of them with their own distinct armor, heraldry, and colors!* Just imagine if say that regiments of the lost kingdom of Lorderon had armor inspired by the *"Burgundian knights"* (the style), those kinds of armors are not only awesome looking they are still functional too, just as one possible example.

Stormwind is honestly just a default human city, there's not much there for story outside of "it got destroyed once a few years ago in warcraft 1". Something as simple as allowing you to buy a different nation tabard from an npc as soon as you get out of the starter zone would make it feel cooler, like being able to rep Strom while being this big champion. Sure you can do that already, but it'd be great to have a different tint armor or something right at the start

(except Kul'tiras now) It doesn't help that all humans within the Alliance have to ALL were the same generic armor instead of y'know *having regiments that represent their respective kingdoms or atleast what's left of them with their own distinct armor, heraldry, and colors!* Just imagine if say that regiments of the lost kingdom of Lorderon had armor inspired by the *"Burgundian knights"* (the style), those kinds of armors are not only awesome looking they are still functional too, just as one possible example.
@@navilluscire2567 I agree, I always thought it'd be cool to roleplay as a human from a different nation. Stormwind is honestly just a default human city, there's not much there for story outside of "it got destroyed once a few years ago in warcraft 1". Something as simple as allowing you to buy a different nation tabard from an npc as soon as you get out of the starter zone would make it feel cooler, like being able to rep Strom while being this big champion. Sure you can do that already, but it'd be great to have a different tint armor or something right at the start
