- The Viper King was pretty damn cool, I admit. But he was but Subject Gamma. There's also Subject Alpha and Beta to contend with...
And MY GOD ARE THEY CHEAP! I was SO glad to finally DEFEAT them! They ALL take a move EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. YOU! MOVE. And they are INCREDIBLY powerful. AND they can open up a gate to get away when they take a bunch of damage so it's guaranteed you won't defeat them on your first encounter!
But at least you get excellent loot/armor from them. ;)

when i first met that berserker queen i took her down with a single sniper shot because of the 10% chance of execution from the repeater.. the most satisfying moment in xcom ive ever had..
Just came across her on the first advent blacksite mission... Was either kill her with the 5% to instant kill, or my whole squad dies... This is xcom so there's no need to explain what the fuck happened. LAWD Give me strength!
He save scummed until that 5% was all he needed, baby!

If the Viper King is the only male of its species.. and Thin Men were derived from Vipers.... have we been fighting Thin Trans all along?
Thin men were genetically modded enough to be a completely different species. It is likely they would not be able to breed with each other. Could also be that the Elders thought the male vipers were so dangerous that they decided to only modify them when they invade a new planet. When they take control of a planet they presumably just kill baby male vipers in their cribs.
Aren't they all clones?

8:36 when you miss a shot and go to reload your save (save scumming) but realise you're recording. All I can say to that is, you should have done we all do it when it comes to X-Com xD

You've labeled this as purely meeting and defeating them.... Yet this is the only video that does even half effective at displaying the DLC content, and all the extras such as research etc. I can't find a single video, that shows more than just the first mission. Or is part of someone's play through series, Nd so requires watching a our 3+ videos, which about 2/3 or more of the footage is just standard content from the game, or other DLC's...

I dont understand why people say the 3 Armors look bad I think they look great especially the Icarus that looks awesome

Icarus looks awesome, rage looks like you are wearing a giant steak, and viper looks good except for the head piece to me. Its the head that makes it look like a holloween costume to me.

Yeah, I was way overpressured when I did this. Full plasma weapons and shit. I didn't realize that I was meant to do it earlier. The only one I might have had trouble with was the Archon, but I hit him with 5 separate superior repeater overwatches. The Viper was simple - frost bomb, acid grenade and then Rapid Fire/Fan Fire (Dragon and Venom rounds respectively). Beserker was trickier because she came at me in a UFO, with half my team just outside, but I still just about managed (thank god for Fan Fire, again).
The Archon King flies like he is drunk first time you encounter him
reaper with superior repeater + superior magazine, you "just" have 79% to trigger executed
What I always found funny with this was, if the vipers, are the Thin men, before the extreme genetic modifications to disguise them as human infiltrators.... Does that mean the modified units were all female? :p

I first met the berserker queen on my first ufo mission...
For anybody playing Xcom 2 just now, equip repeaters on your squad, try to put them on overwatch before the battle begins and after a few tries you'll execute them quite easily.
Xi can't mate, long war 2 took away my repeaters and gave me suppressors...

So they just randomly show up on missions after the viper king or something? Ive only run into the viper king and im almost done with my 35th time playing it since it keeps crashing after you get so far into the game.
Yep! Randomly showing up after you do the special mission to investigate the Viper King's "nest" and where he and the others came from.
Great im already half way done with the whole game and still no luck on the other two. I beat the viper king twice on two restarts.
I think something is wrong with your game. They show up like every other mission.
They still never show up. Every mission im on till the last one, nothing.

Even though it’s 4 years old as my comment. I just recently hop back on XCOM 2 with all dlcs. I can say this I starting hate rulers dlc. Good idea just need more refinement for new comers. And people who just want to play with dlc

I'm confused, after you kill all three alien ruler's do they still appear in random missions? Or do you never see any of the ruler's again?
No you don't see them again unless they fled before you could kill them, then they return with the health they had when they ran away. But a killed ruler is gone for good and you can craft unique armors after doing an autopsy
So remind me why ADVENT didn’t do this for all of the aliens?
Or else XCOM ain't playable
I ve actually killed the viper and the berseker on the first encounter thanks to Salvo Double Frost Grenade. Archon tho is impossible to kill on one go.
Superior repeater with venom rounds will sort him out.
Superior repeater is 15% chance tho. And i have yet to see it work on the Rulers.

It does work on the bosses done it myself (killed beserker queen on the first encounter).
15% is ok, I for example go with 2 rangers, so 2 actions, 2x rapid fire and here you go for 60% total in just 2 actions (also overwatch works before they even attack).
Queen and Archon both fell ez this way, Viper king not cus he is too earlygame, so he went longer.
+Adam Kubík thats not how the maths works :p 15%x2 is not 30%. think of it that way. if you have two shots of 70 % that doesnt mean they will add to 140% for a sure shot, its still 70 and 70 for each. they can both miss with a chance of aprox 9% of that happening while both hitting is about 49%.
So even on rapid fire the chance of the repeater is 15% for each idividual hit and not additive
They need to make more of these boss-monsters, but make the rewards less OP. It gets to the point that you can face-roll through shit. Making unique Macro rewards would be a good balance.
Basically late-game is more or less about being OP after struggling through the start

I have to admit, those armours look ridiculous and the side boob one just seems like a "buy me for sex appeal" approach. I wish I read the reviews and looked them up before buying them >

I killed the Viper King in the first mission without mod,cheat or repeater and my weapons weren't even magnetic yet.But game difficalty is just Veteran and thanks to the Central, his blade master help a lot and a ton of save and load.
So it's not "guaranteed you won't defeat tem on your first mission"
try legend difficulty. and maybe share how you did it. i can't kill them the first meeting. i want that steam achievement of killing a ruler the first meeting. but i finished this game like 3x already. i aint gonna do a re game on easier difficulty.
First time met VK in the blacksite mission WOTC. It was terrific - lvl 1 armour and stuff. Was able to drive him back just because of 2 rangers. Every tongue attack pulked my guys under the fire of 2 turrets. Tactics, man. Every next encounter was easy arteezy. Shick gun and psicell helped a lot.

can you mind control the alien rulers?
Have not try that myself but they have huge variety of immunities for many types of attacks, debuffs and such so im sure that mind control would for them be like throwing a rock, especially on Alpha one as he seems to be the most behemoth like towards any debuff what so ever. I even tried to freeze him and he literally breaks it when his turn is on, which is immediate.
Crazy fun challenge tho
This was done on Rookie difficulty (as proof: the normal Archons and Viper king have only 12 and 44 health respectively), congrats anyway.
To bad the armor you make from these guys sucks.

They only suck if you don't know how to use them properly. If you put them on the right people and use your abilities wisely they all are incredible.
This was in normal difficutly. Piece of cake.

+Joshua John Selvaraj The good news is that you'll find them naturally appearing in random missions. The bad news is THEY ARE BALLBUSTINGLY DIFFICULT CUZ THEY MOVE AFTER EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE. God, you will HAAAAAAAAATE them!
+SaintHeartwing berserker queen is the worse! she can single handedly wipe your entire squad if she gets a good shake off. and finding these rulers in timed missions is a nightmare
At least it´s more realistic. I bet there were haters out there saying "This game is crap, war doesn´t work in turns, it´s not realistic."
From what I've seen, you MUST get her on fire first move. Fire prevents melee attacks.
Tell me about it! I had luck in case of the Berserker as one of my men had Repeater on and the chance was there so i went for it and " BOOM " insta kill, i would not finish the mission without it, nor survive it. So its a repeater and pray for cards to play along x D

shes still out there. probably we'll get more alien ruler-types since she'll be experimenting with other species. imagine ultra Avatar, and the return of Ethereals, with a twist, theyre more physically stronger
