That's right, if you're using a Thermal Vent primarily for cooling, then Thermal Vent and Efficient work against each other. Thermal Vent gets rid of as much heat as the weapon would normally generate, but Efficient reduces heat output, so that also reduces the heat vented. With 2D beams, LR/TV vents 5.3 heat per second, whereas E/TV only vents 2.1 h/s. Oh and it's reticle, re-ti-cul, not recT-i -cule.
You'll like the cyberpunk filter on it at the end Ric. I've got some new software I've been messing with for the music video's. Works well practising with game clips. Produces 4k too. Which is a bonus. Some software down grades graphics using transitions or filters etc 😎👍
I've been doing solo runs too - have found that the P2 is good but probably marginally worse than a K2 for Titan solo runs themselves - it's a bit hotter - but it's perfectly manageable and the SCO is great. I would suggest sticking to only targeting 4 or 5 vents and heading to the pineapple earlier as that's where you get the credits and more time on it gets more creds.
From what I have seen it has the same *problem* if you can call it that, as the mamba *has* compared to the fdl It seems to have a lower thermal cap than the og python, but much faster cooling Good cooling on the pp is likely king for tuning the thermals to ice
Although I think the Python mk2 is more suited for a pvp shield tank build, your build is quite ok. Don't forget that your fsd doesn't have to be powered all the time while titan bombing. You could squeeze in one or two more heatsinks, if you disable your fsd before deploying hardpoints (or adjust those power priorities accordingly). Doing this also might make sure your ship stays below the magic 20% heat while under full thrust (quite helpful in the maelstrom, approaching the titan)- we'll have to test that.
You also dont need your cargo rack powered. You could have your caustic sinks in twos. Two on two off until you run out of charges then switch them over. For best damage get the Sirius ax racks their faster fire rate results in plenty more damage.
I bought the Stellar pkg. upgraded the multi cannons added turreted beam lasers and hull reinforcements and mod reinforcements. Armor upgrades seem to be a challenge to find. It’s my most effective/economical combat ship.
@@roguecapitalist9875 Good luck - not far to go! o7 But in the meantime, if you Google "Inara" - it is an absolutely fantastic Elite Dangerous resource. I can't recommend it enough!
It's a valiant effort on your part, and it proves that almost any ship in ED can do OK at any task with the right outfitting and engineering. But I think it runs way too hot to be an optimal choice for anti-Titan operations.
I'd defy any experience original Python aka the MKI pilot. To go up against the same experienced pilot using the new MKII. The original has three bigger cores to engineer, more and larger optionals to engineer, though it has one less large and two less utilities. An experinced original python aka MKI will smoke the new MKII.
Yeah - I can't see the Mk2 being able to hang around, taking damage for as long as the original... ...But I could be wrong - it'll be fun finding out! o7
Now apply it in reverse Aka Python Mk2 smokes the old MK1 And to provide actual insight Mk2 gets on target faster than the mk1 Mk2 has more guns Mk2 more guns and faster target following = more damage output Lotta people looking at on paper specs but performance wise the mk2 will out maneuver the mk1
Been beating my head off mine... I would really like to undersize the shields (with fast-charge) and have alot of HP underneath... But the class 6 slot means undersizing the armour too...and class 4 shields are perhaps a little too small! I stuck prismatics in the class 6 in the end, everything else is HRP & MRP...but it just doesn't sit right with me somehow? (Pacifiers ftw though!) o7
Mine has replaced my krait for spire runs, it's a good place to get the feel of it. Takes a bit more pip management, but definitely a capable ship. And with my build the rebuy is a little over 400,000 credits, So shut down boosting into the ground isn't that costly. I've found off boost it's a bit sluggish to manoeuvre, even with fa off.
Those winglets though.... IIRC, efficient and thermal are counter productive. Thermal vent is more effective to bleed heat if your laser produces heat in the first place. If not long range go for overcharged
I wont lie. I feel like a AFM no matter if its a class 1 or larger is super needed, ive been stuck in titan space with a non-functional torpedo. Not fun
I will stick with my Krait mk2 for the titan runs, its just tougher in terms of having more hull reinforcement packages etc which suits me better here, but I can see the appeal of the python, in particular the extra fire power.
Pretty much I would build it, more or less. I'd be less worried about going over power budget. Well, I might be a little right now bucause I can't fine tune it in EDSY yet. Generally I don't think it's a proper build if it doesn't go above 100%.
It does suit shield cells as slots are too small, has the fire power but you can't really pack the slots with Hull and module reinforcements, a bit of a disappointment. I took on a mission FDL crime lord and it was hard work. If it was World or Warships it would be a battle cruiser
I heard the efficient beams vent less heat than others. The amount of heat vented is linked to how much heat the beam produces.
I tend to use long range.
But yes - more heat = more venting!
Yes, less hot beams cool you less, hotter beams cool you more. I also use long range whenever it's possible.
Yes you want the most inefficient buffs and long range so that 100% of the output is still vented at longer distances.
That's right, if you're using a Thermal Vent primarily for cooling, then Thermal Vent and Efficient work against each other. Thermal Vent gets rid of as much heat as the weapon would normally generate, but Efficient reduces heat output, so that also reduces the heat vented.

Oh and it's reticle, re-ti-cul, not recT-i -cule.
Long Range Thermal Vent, not efficient, Efficient virtually negates the thermal vent
A bomber can dish out a lot of damage, and can take that damage in kind, while a fighter, is more of a glass cannon,
Cheers dude. - you are a gentleman and a scholar
No way I'm just uploading a run at Hadad too Ric 🤣
It's a fun ship for sure and the engine boost sound is so cool 😎

Yep one due to go in about 3 weeks

lol - the EXACT same cockpit and layout as almost every other ship, literally!
Not familiar with the concept of a mk2 ey?
Meh.
