    The more I look at the model without the spoiler/wing kit, the more I get Serenety vibes about it. This thing seems very versatile too, so I probably finally have a multirole ship, that can predecess my trusty old Cobra in style and usefulness.

    I got some engineered modules for this beauty! I think medium multicannons and a small railgun will do just nicely

    Great vid, but nothing new for me, I already walked your road, and managed to get the best - I think - from this ship.
    I use 4 concord cannons g5 overcharged, with autoloader ( cuz the fraking devs still do not fix the reload bug, months after was reclaimed...) a turreted frag with drag munition and a small MG with corrosive. Both G5 on high ammo.
    I use a prismatic with fast reload, with only give me up to 2000 on shields, but I have one less shield booster than you cuz I put there a G5 fast scanner (2 seconds). Instead of hoarding Guardian shield packs, I put an AFM class 3A ( very handy for accidents like you experienced : ) a Guardian FSD Booster, and a 4A fuel scoop.
    The big advantage of Prismatic is the fact will allow you just one pipe during the fight, the same 1 pipe for weapons ( the big adv of cannons and frags vs MCs - they do not deplete so fast the PD) - so I can stay with 4 pips in engines - that allow the great Mandy to stay, practically, GLUED on the target tail, taking almost no return fire.
    I confess I use a fast key ( I use a multibutton programmable mouse with 18 keys, since I can only use one hand...I am disabled) so before opening fire I target the PP or FSD, depends on target.
    Once the shields are down, the Concord Cannons are spectacular, killing a module in just ONE burst, max 2. If I face 2 or more NPC I switch the max pipes in shields and keep only one in engines and one in weapons - the ship can tank a lot more with 4 pips in shields.
    Since I switched to this build, never I lost my shields, the lowest I get was some 9% when I just boost away 14-16km and use the "repair"sequence who will restore shields at 50% in 10-12 seconds.
    Is not as great as the FdL, I agree with you ( I use also 4 Concord in FdL, and for the Huge point, also a cannon with short range blaster G5) and is devastating...
    But FdL is highly specialized for combat, while the Mandy is good ( not great) at combat but excels, unlike the FdL, at MULTI-TASK.
    With 54 LY jump range, good firepower, decent cargo, is THE best ship for the power weekly tasks.
    I do not regret paying the ARX for her, like I regret spending on the Type 8... Mandy is a joy to fly, and a very sexy lady. Just keep her shields up always, bc, like any woman, the body is fragile.

    IMO it is the best all-rounder in ED. Plus, it is very maneuverable in supercruise...the "loop of shame" isn't as bad in a Mandy.

    From what I've been told, thermal conduit, you need to be above 150% heat to effectively get more damage output. You were below 100% heat.

      incorrect: thermal conduit starts working from 90%, adding additional 1% of damage up to 150%. But the "problem" of the ship that it had decent heat dissipation which doesn't allow to heat up to desired temperature with such weapon config,

      @@Alswulf 2 years ago. It could be the test server isn't set up for it. From what I've been told still, no one uses thermal conduit because it's broken now just like when you attack a wing of 3 wanted ships, the wingmates 90% of the time don't fire back unless the middle ship blows up. That's been broke for almost 2 years.

      @@halopcdraco 😂 unless it's a bait - again: incorrect. This chanel dedicated also to explain mechanics with representaions, check bugs, help to fix it and reproduce the fixes later.
      Thermal conduit is the most common experimental for pa and the way to deal damage with pa. It has nothing close to the description you commented.
      Instead of "being told" to not confuse other players with invalid info - better check it yourself if you don't wanna believe a content maker who tries to share knowledge

      @@Alswulf Why didn't it work for you with the Mandalay? Something is broken there. The people telling me are the ones that started playing at first release. Since your video, what you are saying didn't even work.

      all efficient pa produce not enough heat to reach tc proc level and Mandalay is able to dissipate the heat enough before the next shot.
      There is nothing broken here at it has nothing related to people who started playing it since first release cause during release there was *no tc* at all: engineers were added to the game much later

      you have a good taste :] Salvation's charger shot is very fast.. even while both weps requires to shoot close. With gimballed mcs it might works but class 5 distro..

    I like that it's not touching the meta but has a great place as a pve bubble bus and mission runner which some thargoid potential. I can finally give my krait a break.

    well not bad for a long-range fighter, 41LY is great if you don't want to move your FC all the time to do some bounty hunt or any combat.. actually I like it.

      @@Alswulf maybe long range pa's instead of efficient (because of this ship insane heat handling) Or go absolutely nuts and go with 6 rails or 4 rails with 2 mcs (prefferably plasma slug for less heat)

      @@tomekl3476 long range consumes too much distro - you won't be able to shoot that much. Same goes for rails.
      Perhaps 2 rails with some MCs combination should work ok, like CG rails with double ammo cap. But if you really wanna use more rails or pas - you should try to use heatsinks during aggressive maneuvers (deploying heat sink transfering heat into weapon capacitor)

    Would you switch on the NV for combat? Makes it easier to aim especially when canopy is gone.
    I will do try some cannons or moded plasmas...

      yeah, did try cannon build too: quite ok! But I like mc or frags one more.
      As for mod chargers.. perhaps 2 could work but keep in mind: its a class 5 distro

      in that case you might negate your maneuverings much due to inability to boost often. Mandalay boost feels cheap though.

      With class 5 distro.. well at least 2 rails should - with heatsinks worth to try. Haven't checked it's *hull* potential but agree that staying cold could be helpful!

      @@Alswulf Disable all modules except one hot weapon (SRB PA/rail for example) and a heatsink. Pop the heatsink to get ship's heat to 0%. Fire one round of weapon. Observe heat % increase. Heat cap then is (roughly) thermal load of weapon divided by heat % of ship after firing. HC = 100 * TL / H_p (H_p = heat in percent, TL = thermal load, HC = heat capacity)
      Would love to see the result.
      EDIT: Forgot to add factor of 100 since we need to convert percent value into absolute value.

      @@philipharris-smith5889 I'm thinking about guardian shard cannons or shock cannons with rails. These have considerable DPE but can generate a good amount of heat hence the question.
      Also SRB rails come into play but with a C5 distro that is hard to maintain.

    Шляпа этот Мандалай. Только для исследований годится. И то, там его по дальности прыжка по прежнему опережает Конда.

      так он и был заявлен как исследователь, у которого потенциал 91 св. лет прыжка. Анаконда не умеет так крутиться как в круизе так и в космосах, стоит дороже и у неё отсутствует оптимизация перегрузки фсд

    you see , multi canons are bad idea , they are hull weapons but not shield weapons

      not at all: shielded targed has bigger hitbox and keeping in mind that I have 2 CG phasing multicannons (which have bullets spread) - the hull already was at 70%.
      And then - corrosive ram helped more than all mcs :D

      it does matter. Check the very first seconds of the mc-test - shields were fading quite fast. Mostly cause more bullets were applied on the target cause it has bigger box

    Testing against NPC shows nothing... Any unengineered weapons do well... On any ship.

      those npcs were engineered (mission threat 6) and these tests were made when the ship wasn't released on public server.
      There was no way to test it onto "non-npc"
