Still loving this game, I remember my first flight out in an eagle and started jumping to different system. I just assumed the game wouldn't let you keep jumping if you were going to run out of fuel :P. It was a great lesson and realization this game is very open letting you make your own mistake and learn from them. Since that one mistake have never ran out of fuel and the other rule from the community of dont fly if you cant afford the rebuy has been an invaluable rule. Heres hoping one day to just be able to walk around cockpits of some of the ships..(looking at the Kraits coffee maker )
I forget it didn’t launch until Dec 2014 since I was playing in July. That beta period was very fun, watching the bubble slowly become the pill, expanding bit by bit, and ships become customizable etc. Still playing off and on to this day. Well worth Beta backing.
I only want one thing from Elite Dangerous, a true offline single player game. I don't want to play with others, I don't want to be dependent on servers with the game. I want to play exactly like the older Elite games.
came back a week ago and done a bunch of anti-thargoid content and had a blast! i hope frontier makes the next part of the story of elite just as epic somehow :D
As a player of mostly rocket league and r6 siege i picked up elite back in 2015 and have sunk multiple 1000s of hours into this game. Given my genre of choice is competitive PvP elite broke the mould . Well worth whatever I paid back then, even including the paid for flop of oddessey. I stopped playing not long after oddessey maybe , played a dozen or so hours into it but this month , I’ve found myself back into elite , which is a double bonus at the right time given I’m also a decade older now and I was no spring chicken back in 2014 to start with….. I’d like to think I’ll hang up my competitive gaming and relax hauling space goods around the stars within this game
Surprised at how long i have been playing. I started before Fleet Carriers were introduced. The whole Odyssey debacle really ticked me off, and i stopped for awhile. Got involved withbthe fight against the Titan's after the death of the second titan. I was actuallu attacking the final core when i received the notification. It has been a fun journey.

I came from a distant galaxy far far away and long time ago. I found a new Empire to serve. Very good recap of the last 10 years Ricardo. I can't believe that is already that long since starting in Trevithick Dock in LHS 3447 with a loan Sidewinder Mk I.
I didn't buy it until 2017 when I stopped playing Eve Online because I finally became convinced the Dev's of that game are mostly Sadist's! I have spent nearly then thousand hours playing Elite Dangerous since I bought it witch is about three times the amount of time I played No Man's Sky which I bought in 2020 while waiting for the Odyssey DLC to become playable on my older PC. I still played Horizons from time to time but I did enjoy the on foot game play of NMS. After about fifteen hundred hours in NMS I discovered two things about it that greatly diminished my enjoyment of that game, one of which was a credit cap of around four billion credits followed shortly after that with a story element that completely took away my desire to continue playing that game. I was surprised how just two ideas completely removed my desire to spend any time in that game knowing that built the impending end of that game into the story line right from the beginning.

But it is, well feels like it is more feature complete to me then most.* *edited as I meant more feature complete lmao*
If people don’t want a “grindy” game, they shouldn’t be playing a space exploration game. Especially one that is modeled after our own galaxy. I have explained this game to people before and the best way I can explain it, is like this, it’s a space exploration simulator. That gives you options on how you want to explore the galaxy. Mining, exploration, salvage, combat, etc. personally, I love the grind of the game. I hope they don’t mess with that aspect too much.
"a space exploration simulator" 🤣🤣🤣 - this game is 0,1 "space simulation" and 99,9 BS fantasy. Go see "the expanse" and learn HOW and WHAT is a real space combat simulation ! We use ships in this game like fighters in ww2 ! A REAL simulator will not use such a dumb, stupid mechanic.
Space is vast. Nobody hears you cry on your hunt for rare goods on the way to Hutton Orbital and then to Katzenstein Dock and all the other distant stations. It has to be like that - simply to give a sense how incredibly vast the emptiness of space is. And in 3310 we're already moving the space around us with up to 1000 c and shortcut the way to other systems with hyperjumps.
It's over because they can't get past a certain point. They're stuck and they don't want to go any further. All they're doing is giving ships and configurations.Any server admin can do all those things.
@@adizzle3349 well, I could agree with you there but then we would both be wrong 😑 but NMS has come a long way with a lot of updates. It is a galaxy apart from its initial release and I will have to take another look
NMS is an entirely different type of game, You shouldn't even be comparing the two. Just because they are space-themed..? They offer two very different experiences. I like NMS don't get me wrong, but it certainly can't offer me the same experience that I can get an Elite, no way.
