I will no longer go here just to pay respects for the waynes, but to pay respects to the best Batman there ever was. Rip Kevin Conroy, the one and only dark knight.
For all the martial arts and intelligence Batman has, this scene shows me that deep down, he's still that nine year old boy who lost his parents in an act of senseless violence one fateful night.
@@Dom_510 Don't you remember what Batman said to Commissioner Gordon in the episode 'Over the edge' Batman episode of 1998? He said 'The only way I could hold on to my sanity was taking matters into my own hands.' Batman is mentally unstable and he knows this; that's why he refuses to kill because he doesn't want to admit it and he thinks that he is no better than the criminal nature that took his parents away from him if he did lose it.
When I was first playing Arkham City, I was still a really young, and unexperienced gamer. I usually had a hard time finding the Easter Eggs and such too. However, this was not something I expected. At the very end of the game, when you had to break into the Monarch Theatre, I had no idea how to do it at first. I saw the Joker out front holding Talia, and I figured "There must be a way to get to them!". When looking around the Theatre to find a back entrance, I found this. I was really confused, and sort of surprised as well. When It said "Pay your respects" I got chills. The dramatic, and sad music was perfect, especially while listening to Hugo Strange's message to us (and for me, he was already dead so it had a real metaphorical meaning to me). It was a way of true ending and closure. Right before the death of the Joker, I paid my respects to the deaths that started me on this journey. It was my favorite experience I've ever had in a game.
I have same unexperienced myself as well. I was just a clueless kid gamer and was a noob back then during original Arkham asylum/city game and now here I am with remastered Arkham asylum/city as 20 years old and I understand it lot better than I was when I was just 12 or 13 years old boy. Batman strikes fear in his enemy's hearts, and terrifies every criminal in Gotham. Even though this happens, many comic book fans forget to realize that Batman does this to honor his parents death. This is the reason that Batman is and will always be the best hero.
@@YaBoiBrendo Batman was around the Age of 6 when his parents were killed. Peter was what, 16 I think? Batman: Saw his parents get murdered in front of him. Spider-Man: He cost the death of his uncle Ben but makes up for it to be a hero to make up for his death.
His parents did not die in vain. The fateful night when they were taken from him marked the beginning of the hero of shadows who strikes righteous fear into the hearts of wrongdoers. The beginning of the Dark Knight. The birth of the Batman.
I think it's true to say that the entire Wayne family died in this alley on that fateful night, including Bruce. The very moment his parents were taken away from him was the moment Bruce was destroyed and the Batman was born. All through his adult life, Bruce Wayne is simply a facade, a farce, a mask, while his true persona is indeed the Dark Knight.
That's a bleak way of looking at Batman. I don't like it. And something as campy as Batman: Brave And The Bold actually approached it the best way possible. In it, The Spectre tried to persuade Batman to kill Joe Chill because Bruce had revealed his identity to him, saying: "if this man lives, Batman will die". Batman retorted with: "Batman may die. But Bruce Wayne? Never." Never referring to killing, not Wayne living forever, obviously. Point is, it was a welcome change for the over-emphasis on Batman in favor of Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne is not a non-existent person. The carefree playboy billionaire is a facade, but he's still a real personality under that. Batman is not all he is.
This song just makes you think, what if this was you? Parents killed in front of you, and you were in Bruce's situation. It makes you think of the bats backstory and how this has affected him, and turned his own demons to make a monster.
Personally I LOVE this scene, so moving and emotionally powerful it doesn't even need words to describe who and what the Batman is. Someone born of tragedy and desperate desire to make sure this kind of thing NEVER happens again. It's enough to shed tears over (which I have). I could seriously ramble on and on about how fricking amazing this scene is but in conclusion this scene encapsulates the entire concept of Batman and dammit I love this scene because of it
This is truly one of the most emotional and greatest scenes in video game history. I think this is because it's so relatable, especially for people who have lost loved ones in real life. This is what breaks the line between fiction and non-fiction, which is ultimately what makes this game so great. Through the sadness you feel watching this scene, you also feel the anger at Strange for stepping on something like this crashing through, just like the bullets that changed a life...exactly the same thing you'd feel in real life, which is what makes scene so real. All the graphics cards and hi def screens in the world can't make a video game as realistic as a scene like this truly can.
Being one of those who has had loved ones die, due to illness and, very recently, I can relate more to Batman than I ever have. I'm only 27, and yet my mother has been dead for 11 years and my father died just last July. I've grown up with the Batman 90's, movies, the animated series, and the older re-runs of the original movies and TV shows. Batman's been part of my life ever since I can remember, and this, this scene strikes me on a personal level. It's bittersweet, and I love it.
I am 17 years of age and I lost my mother to a rare staff infection. I've always looked up to batman and has always helped me cope with emotion. I'm not going to say I feel your pain but maybe something similar. Like batman I am learning to strengthen my mind and judgment to help make life's hardest decisions a bit easier. But that also came with me believing i need to do most things on my own and have others stand aside. So for years now I hold only a few friendships i can trust and have not even bothered searching for love either. So just know we can walk down the same paths as equals.
I remember stopping here to pay my respects, but briefly paused beforehand to break every single criminal near here so poor Bruce can have moment of silence and self-reflection.

No words. Just music that expresses a feeling of heroic uprising, yet the sense of painful somber still lingers in its tone. Batman is such an epic hero that most people tend to forget that experiencing the death of his own parents is what made who he is today. I just wish DC remembered majorly that Batman is a compassionate human that even though he lost his loved ones from criminals, he can't ever wish the same to happen to others. And that's what makes him a superhero. Not all the gadgets, or any form of superpower like Superman, Wonder Woman, or even the Flash have.

This game will leave a mark on me, it's been a real great game. Everything about the story and the characters amaze me I love it. I have not gotten my mind off batman since I beat batman Arkham city- I am a major fan of DC now (: But the video of Bruce losing his parents and him paying his respects make me feel very emotional
I always watch this it's kinda cool but emotional you see the man who fears nothing who never gets sad just sit on the one thing that he loved then lost
I booted up my xbox 360 for the first time in years to pay respect to the late Great kevin conroy. May you rest in power. One of the greatest men ill ever know the pleasure of conversing with and to grow up admiring.
This is why Batman is one of the best hero of all time for me... He knows everything , he have experienced everything , he was rich and alone but never a fool , he put everything he had to a good use , to help those in need so that no one has to go through what he had to .
Beautiful, subtly changed words!! Now @markhamill is TRULY going to retire Joker. "WITHOUT BATMAN, CRIME HAS NO PUNCHLINE!!" 😢😥😭😭😭😭 #ThisIsHowTheBatmanDied #RestInPower
When Bruce gets out in patrol, he is reminded that everyday he stops crime to prevent anything horrible that happened to him than to other people and what makes him Batman.
I remember playing this game with my brother when I was around 10. I remembered how sad this scene was and it left a mark on me, since I still vividly remember it to this day. I’ve never seen anything like it until that point. This game, as well as the other Arkham games is why Batman is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time.
On one hand, this is a serious, very heartwarming scene. On the other, the first thing I thought after Hugo Strange's words was "I DODGE THE BLAST AND APOLOGIZE FOR COLLATERAL DAMAGE!"
I've got an idea of how the heroes of Gotham Knights can have their own version of this Easter Egg. Nightwing is in the Batcave remembering how his parents fell from the trapeze, how Batman took him as he looks at the spot in the cave where he swore an oath to Bruce to fight by his side. Red Hood stops by the place where he first saw the Batmobile and remembers how he met Batman after he tried stealing the tires. Batgirl is on top of her apartment as she remembers a conversation between her and her father long before he died, and how Batman swore to Jim he would keep her safe. Robin is in front of Wayne Manor remembering how he pleaded his case to Batman that he needed a Robin and how he was becoming insane after Jason Todd's death.
this part reminds me of when peter parker watched his uncle die, how severe his pain was, how he caught the killer of his uncle, and how he remembered what his uncle told him "with great power comes great responsibility"
What made me cry the most is that he sure has come a long since the scared little boy in the back alley. Seeing him paying his respects in the place his parents died while wearing the batsuit makes you see that it all really started there and wonder if his parents would be proud. It's so weird seeing the past and present connect like that. Well done to the developers
This is why Batman is the best superhero. You can't see Spider-Man do this, it would be out of character. You can't see Superman do this. Same reason. His motives are the best and he doesn't kill anyone. He is the true super hero
This, to me, will always be the most emotional moment of the Arkham series. It’s crazy to say that considering all of the insane stuff that happens throughout these legendary games, but this simple detail is one that always reminds me of who Batman is at his core: a man who loved his parents and is trying to protect the world from the suffering he had to go through.
Wow! Such an emotional moment! I cried! Seeing what he became in honor of his parents deaths and to prevent further loss in Gotham. Really emotional and powerful part. Loved fhis

I love it when games give you opportunities to pause and reflect, The Last Of Us 1 and this game too, It's lovely and quite powerful, people often really remember those scenes. Far better than just telling your players how to feel and trying to force emotions out of them.
we all see the bad assery and coolness but we never take into consideration that the only reason he does all this stuff and make it look awesome because of that night where he saw the two most important people in his life die.
He is vengeance, he is the Night, he is Batman! but deep down, he's just a boy, wishing he could have saved his mother and father from a man with the gun, yet he knows there is nothing that he could do to bring them back, but why is he will bring the hammers of Justice to avenged not just for himself but also there who had lost to the villainy that ravages upon their city, the Mission to save Gotham city will never be done until the day Gotham is saved from crime and Villainy, still then, Batman will fight crime, with every filler of his body, all the while Thomas and Martha watching, up above, as their son is fighting the good fight.

"You know, you see a lot in this job. A lot of pain, a lot of suffering but I'll never forget taking a witness statement from an eight year old boy."

Rest well, Kevin Conroy. You were my favorite Batman.
Goodbye, Kevin Conroy 🥺💜
I'm crying so Bruce doesn't have to *weeps*
Kevin Conroy. He was vengeance! He was the night! He was Batman!
R.I.P Kevin Conroy.
RIP Kevin Conroy 😞😞
I just love that part of the game, the music in the background, the audio from Hugo Strange, when I got up and heard the second song it felt like i once again knew what i was fighting for and what i would spend my life preventing so that nobody would have to go what I went through
This game will leave a mark on me, it's been a real great game.
At the beginning Batman be like "Forget Catwoman, my parents are more important"
I booted up my xbox 360 for the first time in years to pay respect to the late Great kevin conroy. May you rest in power. One of the greatest men ill ever know the pleasure of conversing with and to grow up admiring.
My father always said…
“Life isn’t fun without a struggle in it, but some struggles lead to tragic endings.”
Here after “Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League” to pay respects.
Anyone hear a gunshot before the music played?
Thought it was a lightning
Fred the fish from Spongebob oh shit that’s probably a gun shot in Batman’s head because his probably thinking about that night
@@rwaneneyassin6085 of course he was a 6 yr old boy at the time.i cant imagine what that must have felt like.
@@rwaneneyassin6085 I think they are the inmates
This is why Batman is one of the best hero of all time for me...
He knows everything , he have experienced everything , he was rich and alone but never a fool , he put everything he had to a good use , to help those in need so that no one has to go through what he had to .
Needs a 10 hour version.
Rest In Peace Kevin Conroy
Long live vengeance
Long live the night
Long live The Batman
Beautiful, subtly changed words!!
Now @markhamill is TRULY going to retire Joker. "WITHOUT BATMAN, CRIME HAS NO PUNCHLINE!!" 😢😥😭😭😭😭 #ThisIsHowTheBatmanDied #RestInPower
He's now with Adam West. Two generations of Dark Knights resting in peace.
RIP Kevin Conroy ❤️
"It will end where it began"
Watch the ending of Arkham Knight, then you'll get it.

*🦇 If you know, you know…*
When Bruce gets out in patrol, he is reminded that everyday he stops crime to prevent anything horrible that happened to him than to other people and what makes him Batman.
Better way to pay respect than Spiderman to Uncle Ben in Spiderman PS4 2018 game
On one hand, this is a serious, very heartwarming scene.
On the other, the first thing I thought after Hugo Strange's words was
"I DODGE THE BLAST AND APOLOGIZE FOR COLLATERAL DAMAGE!"
Kevin Conroy rest in peace
The place where Bruce died...and Batman was born.
his parents death created a savior a hero
this part reminds me of when peter parker watched his uncle die, how severe his pain was, how he caught the killer of his uncle, and how he remembered what his uncle told him "with great power comes great responsibility"
This is one if the saddest experiences I've had in a game.
this music and batman crouched, gives me chills.
Joker: "Behind all the stern and batarangs, you're just a little boy in a playsuit, crying for Mommy and Daddy."
Rip Kevin Conroy
crazy how i was literally just walking around and JUST HAPPENED to find this.
I love how so much of the music in this game is a remix on the original Arkham Asylum theme.
Loved fhis
1:25 Dr. Leslie Tompkins: Good people used to live here once.
Batman (Bruce Wayne): Good people still live here in Crime Alley *places a rose on the ground and pays his respect* .......
*Many years later at Park Row*
Terry McGinnis: I think you'd want it torn down, so after all these years you want to forget.
Elder Bruce Wayne: Do you want to forget what happened to your father?
R.I.P Keven Conroy, Dark Knight forever.

Batman and Punisher, my two favorito characters… bouth with the saddest story
I love it when games give you opportunities to pause and reflect, The Last Of Us 1 and this game too, It's lovely and quite powerful, people often really remember those scenes. Far better than just telling your players how to feel and trying to force emotions out of them.
Paying them now
we all see the bad assery and coolness but we never take into consideration that the only reason he does all this stuff and make it look awesome because of that night where he saw the two most important people in his life die.
If you walk from the Monarch Theater, and through Crime Alley, you can hear two gunshots and screaming...
