"A hero can be anyone, even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know the world hadn't ended."

The first time i played this game, before i confronted Joker in the Monarch Theater I stumbled upon Crime Alley on accident, I walked to the chalked figures and payed my respects for at least 5 mins and listened to the tape, after that I felt something, what was it? Sadness? Anger? No... it was confidence, the reminder that Batman’s parents were watching over him, that filled me and still fills me to this day when I hear the song, and that is what helped me defeat Joker once for all. Thank you Arkham City.

When I payed Bruce's respects, my eyes filled with tears when looking at a man who as a child lost his parents to a greedy, selfish mugger, as the music plays. And right as I listen to it now, I can’t bare to imagine how my parents would die, and I’m emotional habit, and I’m 11 right now on January 24, 2019 (today is not my birthday, it was 2 days ago).
It's true, BATSY! I know everything! And kinda like the kid who peeks at his Christmas presents, I must admit, it's sadly anti-climactic. Behind all the sturm and batarangs, you're just a little boy in a playsuit, crying for mommy and daddy! It'd be funny if it weren't so pathetic! ... Oh, What the heck, I'll laugh anyway! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!
Restart the song and read this if you want: A kid walks down an alley, remembering the final moments with his parents who loved him so much. Until he came... a man who was selfish with a gun, killed the kid's parents in the alley. The kid saw his parents on the ground waiting for the police to come. The kid destiny has started, he swore to protect his city and not let another life be ruined by thugs or crime. And under all that justice he did is vengeance, vengeance he swore not to use. Instead he use his strength and knowledge to help people. People say he's the knight of the dark while ''he'' is human to. Hes in a city full of violence, and the only thing he can call home is an alley, not an ordinary alley, the alley, ............Crime Alley. The Batman
My respects to Kevin. Thank you for doing your Job with so much love. My childhood was horrible, but the Arkham Games (Batman Arkham Asylum specifically) and Batman/Kevin's voice identity made my it a little better.
I can’t believe it’s been over 6 months already. Still feels like today. Batman day should be a real holiday. Set at the passing of Kevin. 😢 the Legend the world needs, but not the one it deserves. A moment of silence for Vengeance.
I just love that part of the game, the music in the background, the audio from Hugo Strange, when I got up and heard the second song it felt like i once again knew what i was fighting for and what i would spend my life preventing so that nobody would have to go what I went through
Thomas Wayne: I can't believe you insisted on sitting through that movie again Bruce. Come on we'll be late for Alfred Bruce: I'm sorry daddy Martha Wayne: Go easy on him Tom. He loved it so. Alfred will wait. Keep up Bruce Martha: Where are you taking us? Thomas: We can cut through here Martha: But it's starting to rain. Bruce is tired. Can't we just wait for him here? Thomas: Come on keep up. We're nearly there Joe Chill: Hold it there lady Martha: Oh my god Thomas: Please there's no need for this Chill: Stay where you are. I'll shoot Thomas: I'll give you whatever you want Chill fires his gun killing Thomas Bruce: Daddy. Martha: TOM. OH MY GOD TOM Chill: Be quiet lady. Just shut up. Give me those pearls Martha: Stay away from me. Run Bruce Chill shoots killing Martha Bruce: MOMMY.
Joe Chill:(Chill saw a police officer)Damn cop.(smug to Bruce)See you around, kid.(mocking to him and leave with the pearls) Bruce:(Bruce helplessly kneel to the corpses of his parent, cried)Mom,pop!Wake up!Don't sleep!please...(sobbing) (Later,in GCPD) Bruce:(still sobbing, his parents'death were fast, but become a strong force to push his heart) (A police officer came to Bruce, try comfort him):I sorry about your parents, can I do anything for you, son? Another Officer:Don't worry,Jim,money will fix anything to the boy. Jim Gordon:(anger)You shut up!Don't you know his parents were gun down right in front of him,a innocent child? And money won't fix this fault! Another Officer:(in a mocking tone)Really?I just finishing to call his butler,he has a butler,A BUTLER!
(suddenly,Bruce start talking but in saddest tone):Why his doing this, officer? Why my parents? Jim Gordon:(in a care voice)I also no idea,Bruce, but believe me,whatever places having darkness, there always a light...and stop calling me officer, call me Jim,son.
Isn't it incredible? How well the Arkham games, and the animated series, and the Nolan trilogy pull off Batman's origin? Then you have Snyder. WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?!
@Minutemen Revival. I understand what they were going for there. Batman realising that Superman is an innocent man with a family rather than the dangerous alien he thought he was and that if he kills him he'll be no better than Chill. The problem is it comes off more like he's surprised and worse angry that another woman in the world has his mother's name. But that's Zack "the hack" Snyder for you. The man who didn't understand that the reason the dark tone of the Nolan films succeeded was because it fit the story, the characters, the atmosphere and the more realistic world Nolan was going for. It wasn't successful just because it had a dark tone like Snyder thought the DCEU would be. This is the man who thinks the forced "Superman is Jesus" symbolism is something he invented when it's been going on for years. He made every character as dark and brooding as Batman for no reason. Even Superman who's supposed to be more of a light hearted, hopeful character.
To me Batman is the ultimate definition of a hero. Here we have someone who went through something traumatic and terrible at such a young age. One bad day if you will. But instead of letting that loss consume him, Bruce allowed himself to rise above his bad day to make sure that no one else ever had to go through the same traumatic experience that he had to, sacrificing both himself and his chances at a better life in order to follow through on that goal. Again if that's not the ultimate sign of a hero then I don't know what is.
Came here after watching all of the cutscenes to Suicide Squad KTJL and I could not believe this is how his final performance turned out. The story ended with Knight and I do not consider this canon. Rest in peace Mr. Conroy...
Such a great moment in super hero history. Bruce went through so much. From being only 8 years old and watching his parents die in front of his eyes, to Joker and Thalia dying in Arkham City, and who knows what will happen in Arkham Knight. This is why Batman will forever be the most touching, and the best hero of all time. :(
Every time I play through Arkham City, I make it a point to go to Crime Alley...listen to that tape...and reflect on what made me the Batman I am that day...God rest the souls of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Their deaths were tragic, but had a silver lining too.
Rest in peace Kevin Conroy, and rest in peace the Arkham series.😢 we had an amazing run and joyous memories. May we never forget. And may it bring us comfort in times of hardship.
And so he sees, after all these years, in this decrepit old city of crime, the place which gave birth to him. Made him who he was. The place of tragedy. Crime alley. Batman steps into the alley, shaking with emotion as all the painful memories came back in great waves. These two lives taken to create a being who would save many more... and yet he wondered if it was worth it. He sees the rose he had left there so long ago, still as red as his parents' blood had ran on that fateful day, before he had become this creature of the night. And so, for the first time in ages, Bruce Wayne kneels down by his parents' place of death... And paid his respects to the parents he barely knew...
Marge Simspon I restart the entire game and put it on the highest difficulty till I beat the game and make my way back to their then I do it all over again to remind myself why batman continues fighting through all the odds and battles
Few games manage to be a great sequel, And less tend to SURPASS its original predecessor. When i bought this game (I also bought Arkham Asylum with it, it was the GOTY double pack) And i thought i would be playing Arkham Asylum more, but when i was playing this game, i was in total awe. This game is everything Batman should be, how his enemies should be. My main flaw with Asylum is when you finished the story, there wasn't anything to do on Arkham Island but solve riddles and collect Trophies. The Game was very well made though. Arkham City has re-spawning thugs, a whole crap ton of side missions, and i couldn't want anything more to add to this game, its THAT good. And all of the downloadable content was nice too. As you know i got the GOTY edition, and it Had The Maps, Catwoman Episodes, Harley Quinn's Revenge, Nightwing Skins, Robin Skins, Catwoman Skins, and the Batman skins all ready for me to download. I bought a Hard-Drive and installed every single one, and Like before, left me in total awe. This game has a Amazing story, Great Voice acting, Top-Notch graphics, Smooth gameplay, and excellent content to leave you playing for HOURS. And then there's this, Which is the ONE video game moment that was the closest to making me drop a tear. 10/10 My favorite video game of all time.
I know... People have no idea how evil they can be. Though they may not know it, they've just turned someone against the whole world and it's so hard to hold yourself back from going down that path. From becoming a villain yourself because of what they did to you. It makes you want to destroy what's left of this world because of how hurtful and disgusting it is rather than wanting to protect what good is left. It's caused me to think, "Is it really worth helping or saving these people today when they are just as deplorable and sick as the criminals around them? They think they are doing good, but really they're just lying to themselves and to everyone about it. The hypocrites!" I know what I'm saying may sound weird or odd but it's difficult to look at the world in a different way when nothing good has touched you in a long time... But you know, I get to thinking about other things and Batman is one of them. He may be simply a character that someone came up with, but the concept of him is really something different to me. The idea that when his parents were killed in front of him, he could've gone down the path of a villain, killing because of the memories of that horrible night and because of how wronged he was by someone else that the hate was overwhelming. It would have been easier to just have revenge. To damn the world because of it. But no. Instead, the writers, real people, thought: "What if we chose to be better? That man may have been terrible, may even deserve death, but what if instead, we chose to have mercy?" Yes, you can say that this is simply the plot/idea of every other superhero character with a tragic backstory, but to me, Batman has evolved and has chosen to not cross that line. It's that idea of the unwillingness to kill after the world has hurt you so much that stops me. You can say I'm overinterpreting this and that I'm just going way into depth, but this is how I feel about this particular character/idea. And right now, I'm teetering over the edge on my own morals, trying to fight back my urges to let loose and not hold back my rage anymore. I'm sorry for this essay of a comment, but damn am I an angry, conflicted person right now who has not been able to vent to any other soul and doesn't want to hurt myself or anyone else more.
@@lezilyyy1750 I understand what you’re talking about pretty sure I’m almost heading towards that villain like path but I got one thing holding me back is my family if my family dies the rage hiding in me will unleash

Bill Finger and Bob Kane created Bruce Wayne & Batman. Kevin Conroy refined the character of Bruce Wayne & Batman. Most voice actors for both Bruce and Bats have some big shoes to fill now. But, they can still stay true to Conroy's role model for both characters.
Thank you Arkham city for making this theme one of the things that chokes me up because of all the subtle Batman themes in the background and the sad orchestra

Amazing kid just Wow you nailed it
Your about to be 16 wow. Enjoy it man because life switches from there. Friends, people you love, etc. the Batman arc starts at the age.
"Want to know something funny, even after everything you`ve done.
I would`ve saved you."
RandoM Videos If you don't like the movie, I got slides! 😁
That really got to him, Joker did always like that approach where he would mentally torture his target
I’ll Break You In Two!!!
The joker will always be batman greatest villiain
@risingUpwards that actually is....*cough**cough* pretty funny.
Restart the song and read this if you want:
A kid walks down an alley, remembering the final moments with his parents who loved him so much. The Batman
Thank you for that...
Creacy11 to be honest I though people were gonna dislike this lol
LALO_KILLER17 It's awesome :D
Joker Mc thanks :D

Gotham is worth saving
My respects to Kevin. Thank you for doing your Job with so much love. My childhood was horrible, but the Arkham Games (Batman Arkham Asylum specifically) and Batman/Kevin's voice identity made my it a little better.
Good to know im not the only one who comes back to the game every now and then just to pay my respects.
Don't worry mate you're not alone before I start free roaming I always pay my respects
This is off topic but your comment was 7 years ago back in the good old days now I’m feeling like Batman when his parents died
I can’t believe it’s been over 6 months already. Still feels like today. Batman day should be a real holiday. Set at the passing of Kevin. 😢 the Legend the world needs, but not the one it deserves. A moment of silence for Vengeance.
R.I.P. Kevin Conroy, The night, the vengeance, the batman...
Came after playing Arkham City again, it still hurts to know Kevin is gone.
Rip Kevin conroy, we will never forget you😔
REST IN PEACE KEVIN CONROY... ...... 🙏
I just love that part of the game, the music in the background, the audio from Hugo Strange, when I got up and heard the second song it felt like i once again knew what i was fighting for and what i would spend my life preventing so that nobody would have to go what I went through
“It’s what you taught me. Do the right thing. That’s all that matters.” Rest In Peace Kevin. You’ll always be missed. Long Live the Bat. 🦇
Can't believe this is how it ends
This and "talia, I'm sorry" both reach a level of emotion that was insane for being Easter eggs
Thomas Wayne: I can't believe you insisted on sitting through that movie again Bruce. Come on we'll be late for Alfred
Bruce: I'm sorry daddy
Martha Wayne: Go easy on him Tom. He loved it so. Alfred will wait. Keep up Bruce
Martha: Where are you taking us?
Thomas: We can cut through here
Martha: But it's starting to rain. Bruce is tired. Can't we just wait for him here?
Thomas: Come on keep up. We're nearly there
Joe Chill: Hold it there lady
Martha: Oh my god
Thomas: Please there's no need for this
Chill: Stay where you are. I'll shoot
Thomas: I'll give you whatever you want
Chill fires his gun killing Thomas
Bruce: Daddy.
Martha: TOM. OH MY GOD TOM
Chill: Be quiet lady. Just shut up. Give me those pearls
Martha: Stay away from me. Run Bruce
Chill shoots killing Martha
Bruce: MOMMY.
Joe Chill:(Chill saw a police officer)Damn cop.(smug to Bruce)See you around, kid.(mocking to him and leave with the pearls)
Bruce:(Bruce helplessly kneel to the corpses of his parent, cried)Mom,pop!Wake up!Don't sleep!please...(sobbing)
(Later,in GCPD)
Bruce:(still sobbing, his parents'death were fast, but become a strong force to push his heart)
(A police officer came to Bruce, try comfort him):I sorry about your parents, can I do anything for you, son?
I can hear the exact same voices and sounds just by reading this.
This song should play on Batman's funeral
I agree
Conroy...
Well Kevin is in crisis on infinite earths part 3 so that will be his final ride as bats
"The hardest thing about this job, is you can't always save everybody."
Just here to pay my respects for Kevin Conroy. We lost an absolute legend today
couldn't say that better
True ;-;
Arkham Knight nearly killed Bruce. Not physically, psychologically. Not sure how any mortal could take what Bruce felt that night.
ExileOutfit Gaming hey man, no spoilers please
Eduardo Gonzalez Arkham City nearly broke him as well. No spoilers from me.
Every time I play through Arkham City, I make it a point to go to Crime Alley...listen to that tape...and reflect on what made me the Batman I am that day...God rest the souls of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Their deaths were tragic, but had a silver lining too.
asher labrousse Here lies Thomas & Martha Wayne. Here rises The Dark Knight....
I know somewhere, somehow... They are proud of their son. More so than ever before.
Crime Alley-This is how it all begin. This is how the Dark Knight Rises.
Rest in peace Kevin Conroy, and rest in peace the Arkham series.😢 we had an amazing run and joyous memories. May we never forget. And may it bring us comfort in times of hardship.
😔⚘ R.I.P Kevin, you will always be our Batman😥.
And paid his respects to the parents he barely knew...
you write that yourself?
THE_READS That's where you're wrong, my friend.
Beautiful, good job man.
SilverSoldier90 "It will end where it first begun." -Hugo Strange
SilverSoldier90 that's very deep but very true
Whenever I pay my respects, I go on a rampage, taking no damage and taking on armed thugs and stuff xD
Haha same here
pac man ikr
same
Marge Simspon I restart the entire game and put it on the highest difficulty till I beat the game and make my way back to their then I do it all over again to remind myself why batman continues fighting through all the odds and battles
Me 2
Few games manage to be a great sequel, And less tend to SURPASS its original predecessor.
10/10
My favorite video game of all time.
Rest in peace Kevin Conroy. Such a inspiration to me
The batman may have created some of his villains but we've all created villains In our life
Cameron Stevens On the contrary, the vilians of Gotham created the Dark Knight.
Ik a lot of people that brings out the rage in me that’s waiting to come out
@@lezilyyy1750 in all honesty if that happens I would want people to be destroyed completely that’s why I think we all don’t deserve to live in this world the world not the problem WE ARE THE PROBLEM US AS HUMANS CAUSE THE WORLD TO Be how it is
"How does it feel, Wayne? To stand on the very stones that ran with your parents' blood?"
Hugo's tape and the music made this moment so intense
Rest in peace Kevin Conroy and Arleen Sorkin, you made our childhood better with all your work.
It still hurts that he's gone.
I teared up when I paid my respect in Arkham city, it wasn't for Bruce's parents, it was for Mr. Conroy 😢
"You are young but are destined for great things."Thomas Wayne - Father to Son Trailer - Batman Arkham Knight
"Such a shame for the kid though." -Joker
"Such a shame dark knight. I thought you would bring up a Fight"-Arkham Knight
"There is nothing like a fear of losing family. You will bring Death to all of those who follow you."
Farewell Kevin Conroy
Thank you Arkham city for making this theme one of the things that chokes me up because of all the subtle Batman themes in the background and the sad orchestra
In my friend group, everyone's favorite Batman was always a live action Batman, whether it was Christian Bale, Ben Affleck or Robert Pattinson it didn't matter, it was a live action one
I was the only one who said Kevin Conroy, a voice actor, was my favorite, so I always felt like the odd one out, and I will stick with this opinion till the day that I die
@Goku1222 Got one who tried knight, but quit midway through, said it's not his type 😫 in all honesty, I think he just sucks at the game LMAO
The other's parents are usually too poor or too strict to get video games, or they aren’t interested in video games at all
@@itsjordan1042 your friends ARENT TRUE FRIENDS THEN!!
@@tylergalvez5033 nah in all seriousness tho they are 😭😭
But they still follow Andrew Tate like he's the second coming of Christ so idk maybe you're right lol
I am vengeance I am the night I am BATMAN .
Rest in peace Kevin Conroy...
Beautiful piece of music, it’s just simply beautiful…
