Technically, Joker did get controle of Batman's body in Arkham Knight. Remember when you confronted Scarecrow in the Stagg Airships. And Joker never wants to kill Batman. It always seems like he is but he knows Batman will get out of it.
I'm sure his role in The Last Jedi will be more substantial, so it wasn't all for nothing. Besides, his cameo in The Force Awakens was the first time we'd seen him as Luke in over 30 years, so he had to look the part, and his appearance had to be consistent with the next movie.

He never played the character true, but his voice acting I felt perfectly encapsulated the character, it was terrifying when it needed to be psychopathic, and even a clown. But his laugh is really what sealed it, it sent shivers down my spine and left me unsettled. Other people to play the joker had something they used to differentiate them from others. Heath Ledgers character was an anarchist, the whole point of his character was to cause chaos, which is slightly different from the joker of the comics, And Jack Nicholson was very much a gangster that was the whole point of his character, (Though I do believe he has one of the best on screen performances). All the movie characters had some kind of spin to get their Joker to relate to the way the movie was headed. Hamill's was most true to the comics portrayal, which may just have to do with the fact that it was a series not a movie with one story line.
They did a wonderful job, and they did justice to the character, my main point is that Hamill got the closest to the comics. Joker is a coward most villains are he was also deranged exuberant and frightening. I think Hamill's was closest to that Joker. The movie adaptations were all very good, but they weren't as faithful to the comic book character, but that does not mean they were bad Jokers.
I guess that's true. It would be hard to call Mark Hamill the best since he hasn't done a physical appearance. I suppose I just prefer the Batman animated series.

If the Ben Afleck Batman series ever needs a Talia actress - my vote goes to Stana Katic - not only did she do a top notch job in Arkham City (really all the voice actors here were incredible), and is a fan, but she looks more like Talia than Marion Cotilliard (much as I like Marion as an actress). Seems like a perfect fit! :)

You should watch Mark Hamill interviews where he mentions that he was actually adamant on voicing such an iconic villain when he's known for being one of the most epic heroes of all time

The whole 90's Animated Batman voice cast was perfect for their roles then and in the first two Batman Arkham games, them returning back to their roles was not just nostalgic but pure wholesome and epic!

Yeah, but to be fair he may not fully realize that in all versions of the character. In some of them, he may only realize it once batman is actually gone (or he thinks he's gone, anyway).

If the Ben Afleck Batman series ever needs a Talia actress - my vote goes to Stana Katic - not only did she do a top notch job in Arkham City (really all the voice actors here were incredible), and is a fan, but she looks more like Talia than Marion Cotilliard (much as I like Marion as an actress). Seems like a perfect fit! :)
