    This is fantastic timing, Saffy! My daughter has been asking for another dirt bike for about the last year. She isn't old enough to ride on the street yet. But I am watching this video waiting to pick up a new CRF125 for her to surprise her picking her up from school. Your videos are always fun to watch thanks for sharing with us.

    Your hair is looking quite ginger now, it looks good. The adventure bike market is still the fastest growing segment so having a small inexpensive starter bike makes good sense.

    This was my first learner bike till I passed my test last year and upgraded to a Suzuki 650. The sinnis terrain was a great bike it got me around Scotland and back to Manchester. I came off it a few times on gravel roads because of the linked brakes.

    After owning one of these for 12,000 miles I'd advise everyone to avoid them like the plague. So many issues with the thing, crap quality finish and parts. And they're definitely not any good for an adventure bike, because of the tyre sizes you'll never put any rubber on that's close to being an off road tyre, and that 17inch front wheel doesn't help. Suspension travel is not adequate or soft enough, sure, it'll get through, bit only as well as any other upright 125.
    For one, they lied to you, you definetely cannot Be remapped. They're slow as hell, even for a 125, a honda cbf125 is faster. The paint just flakes off and is thin as anything, bolts are soft, everything will rust faster than any other bike I've seen.
    Plagued with electrical issues, half of my electrics have had to be replaced, dealerships are crap, will do bare minimum until the labour warranty is over and then low and behold oh we'd need it in for longer. When they do a full service all they do is oil change, never once checked valve timings, bearings, or anything.
    Lots of people are trying to sell them after realising what a bag of crap they are.

    • @SaffySprocket
      @SaffySprocket  Рік тому

      It's not sinnis that said it could be remapped :D I was lurking around on some forums

    • @OGGrinskin
      @OGGrinskin Рік тому +1

      @@SaffySprocket ah right yeah gotcha, I use the main ones on Facebook, everyone asks but it seems no one has been able to confirm their bike has been remapped which is a shame. But yeah, don't let these small Chinese sellers take advantage of your kind nature. They really aren't all they cracked up to be these bikes, maybe they'd be better if support and parts availability were better but as it stands, the bikes are pretty for a 125 but nowhere near the reliability of the proven brands.
      Also the warranty is a bit of a con, it's not two years, it's one year labour and parts and the second year is just parts. Labour is the bit you want covering as the parts are dirt cheap anyway and it's labour that costs a bomb so it may as well just be a year. After the first year is when my faults started appearing and then had to pay a bomb.

    Nice one Saffy. Love the looks of the bike. I hope you can cope with all that power! Actually, it could be a great introduction for new riders to go adventuring on. You can travel serious distances on little bikes. You just need to be a bit patient. Just a suggestion Saffy. Maybe worth preparing a crib sheet with the bike specs on. And if that means you need to use your specs to see it, that's ok. You look great with and without glasses.

    Saffy, you really must file a copyright claim asap. That way you're in for loads of royalties when SW Motec and a dozen others start selling crash bra's lol.
    Mark my words Saffy , someone will just for some marketing humour.
    On the other hand there's far more to your Saffy blooper than you might realise, & with this I'm actually quite serious. There's a growing number of women riding these days. This has lead to a growing choice of women specific riding apparel . You can see exactly where I'm going with this by now I'm certain. There's plenty of sports bras for female athletes so it just now seems a no brainer.
    Hurry up Saffy and get yourself into the motorcycle apparel business.
    On another note again I'm really quite interested in what you think of this little adventure bike. I know a very keen young woman, 18 in a few months, and her hero is Noraly, aka Itchy boots. I've been looking at options but this one hadn't come across my radar until you just dropped it in front of me like a gift.

I was looking at the Terrain as I want to do some touring after getting my CBT but I'm more drawn to the cruiser style, the new Keeway RKV 125C is just pulling at my heart strings. Looks like a good bike. But 'Adventure'; I'm not so sure. I haven't quite got what an 'adventure' bike is. For me, it would be a medium size bike that has good road manners and half way decent off-road capability. Any bike with a 17" front wheel (is that right?) is going to suffer off road.

    • @gerokron3412
      @gerokron3412 Рік тому

      Agreed, the 17´ is kind of a killer in terms of capabilities, and it will be quite difficult to get decent knobbly tyres aswell. Which really is a shame - why not simply get a 19´? Would be so much better.

    • @SaffySprocket
      @SaffySprocket  Рік тому

      @@SaffySprocket Damn good point, Saffy and thanks for the perspective. I remember the first time I rode a proper bike. It was in 1970 and I bought a 500cc bike and rode it home (via the long road home) through the night and it was the most magical adventure of my life at that time. Nowt to do with off road, it was just on the road. I still ride pretty much everyday, both during the day and at night and still get the same magical feeling. Thanks for your enlightening response & blimmin good review. (could still do with a 21" front wheel, mutter, mutter)
