It was lovely and warm during the day, especially on Saturday, but it was needed after freezing to death Friday night! Great weekend, lots of queuing to get just a few rides but worth the wait. Hope your pizza was good, I couldn’t be bothered to wait but you looked committed so you have more patience than me 😂
Hope you had a lovely time! I got a bit hot n dehydrated and did my first ever Bridgestone. Did come off the once and have the footage🤪 Oh no didnt know the teapot had folk music, I love that. Next year! Was so much fun! P s oh did the Free lesson with adv rides uk thanks to your post on fb. Loved it! Ta.
@@SaffySprocket I was tired went back for a snooze, passed out and was like a greenhouse/sauna. P.s was also bloody cold at night. I thought a thin jungle blanket ok. Bad mistake😂(lucky I took a thick jumper n 4 t shirts).
Hi saffy, Glad you enjoyed yourself, Not really my cup of tea, I don't camp ever , Don't want to queue for hours for toilet or food and drink, But would enjoy seeing all the bikes, and if I got to meet you and some of the other you tube bikers that would be great 👍, It's also a 400 mile round trip. Take care, Best wishes Roy 😊.
I was interested in going a couple of years ago and when I was talking to people I was really put off... The general comments were that it was too big, too busy and far to corporate. That it had lost what it was to adventure and to go touring... Now it seems everything is worse... it's not a festival you can just be at and enjoy. Everything is prebooked and pre organised and it just seems to be one hell of a money pit. I have a feeling there are probably more manufacturers and retailers there than at the NEC for the annual Motorcycle Bike Show which just proves the point. Maybe one day I'll go but for now, I'll look forward to the far smaller and more intimate 'Overland Festival '25' in Oxford.
Festivals have always been like this! Look at Glastonbury! I think what you need is a motorbike rally rather than a festival. Its just blokes and bikes and riding near a pub :D
@@SaffySprocket I disagree... it's what festivals can become AFTER they become famous and they lose themselves in the chase of being 'bigger and better' each year, Glastonbury, Download and even the smaller Bloodstock are all far too oversized now that they have lost what they used to be about. I mean, if you are walking around a festival that you have paid a lot of money to be at and yet you can't partake in so much of it because it was all pre-booked and sold out months before hand just like at ABR, then you really need to think again about the nature of that festival. Why go to a music festival to watch a performance from so far away that even the image on huge stage-side screens look tiny? But there are festivals that keep a focus on their origins and their goals. To be community focused rather than commercially and money focused. Most of the time you won't hear or know of them without word of mouth and when talking about them, most others won't know they exist either. Overland Festival is the antithesis of ABR and I loved it for that, I am also interested in The Lightweight Adventure Festival. One consistent thing though is that when you find a few people who went to the very early versions of these massive festivals, they almost always say the same thing, that it isn't the same not and while they may still love it, it's not as good or as welcoming as it once was.
I would like to have gone and seen the bikes but ive go no interest in getting pissed and listening to bands. If it was £25 i would have gone. But i can get to the stella alpina for the entery fee including channel tunnel. A real adventure.
@droptuned83 fair enough but the alps on a great bike is something I would recommend to any biker. But you can always take the ferry but remember the titanic. 🧜♀️

It was a rather long queue 😅
T'was a super festival. Hope you got to see as much as I did. Great talks. You need to get some more miles in to get you onto one of the stages.

There's no toilet queues! And you can rent little huts or bring a campervan too :)

Hope you enjoyed my home town!?
I love it!
@@SaffySprocket I might have to attend next year

Currently a deluge of ABR social media. Out of curiosity, was anyone there not filming for their UA-cam or Instagram channel?
