As long as you are ok that's the main thing Saffy. I like the way you laugh at your misadventures but inside the embracement I would think is overwhelming. You were my inspiration to get back on my CBF1000 after 2 years of it been in the garage unused after illness. Thanks for that you are a diamond. Keep up the good work young lady.

I guess it's better to drop your bike when there's someone around to lend a hand, rather than when you're out by yourself in the middle of nowhere.
The main thing is that you're OK.
    Stay safe out there. 🙂🏍💨👍

Dropped mine on Trent Bridge, Nottingham, during rush hour one time, just pulling up to a stop cos of stationary traffic, helluva windy day, got caught by a gust of wind before i could get my foot down & over it went, and the salt in the wound my foot got caught under the engine as i tried to stop it going over, so i wound up laying there for a min till a couple of kind folk got out their cars & helped me up, damn embarrassing to put it mildly!.

It's great seeing your videos especially they have been recorded in 4K showing the glory of the scenery while showing so much sheer enthusiasm on your rides.
That cave reminds me walking about in the caves of Gibraltar used since apparently the Stone Age. However, the caves where you've explored in the video is far more spectacular looking, as the tour in Gibraltar didn't show so much splendor in my personal opinion, and that place would be on my future rides for sure..!
Yes, you should NOT have any problems accepting help from bystanders when needed, as most adventure bikes and even cruisers, etc, can be exceptionally heavy. I noticed there was shuddering effect while you reversed a bit and did you trap your foot or did you accidentally let out the clutch a bit to much instead causing it to shudder causing you to become unbalanced?
Have fun future rides where ever you may travel...!

First forgot to take the front disc lock off🤦🏻‍♂️...very quickly got a stretchy disc lock reminder 😊 Second, outside the bike showroom. Left it in gear when I stopped, wondered why it wasn't starting after...ooh, the side stand is down, didn't check the neutral light, pulled the clutch in, started it up, let the clutch out thinking it was in neutral.....🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ It's the hurt pride and pure muppetiness that is the worst and flee the scene as fast as your wheels will take you 😂

One thing I think they should add to rider training is, how to safely lift a "resting" Motorcycle. Not as part of the test ( which is already over loaded) but just a 15 20 minute slot in one of the lessons. It's something that, unfortunately Will happen to almost every rider at some point and it's so easy to injure yourself with adrenalin but poor technique. Well Done!!

Hi, I dropped my multistrada in Normandy last June luckily there was only two old French ladies looking on in amazement as I had only moved about two inches and I couldn’t understand how it happened , my wife and a kind old Frenchman who walked passed help me get the bike up and the only damage was the tip of the clutch lever had snapped off and a graze on my left leg . I stood there for a min trying to figure out why it fell then noticed I had left the disc lock on so had to try and take it off without anybody noticing 😂, the two old ladies hung around for my second attempt to get going again just in case of another spill but it was ok and the Frenchman who help gave me a wave and a thumbs up as we rode passed him further up the road. It is a bit embarrassing but lots of us have had little spills and as long as there is no damage to us then that’s all that matters , good luck stay safe . Yes I did keep my helmet on 😂

Hi Saffy, I can fully sympathize with you dropping your bike like that. I dropped my bike 6 weeks ago after pulling to a stop in a petrol station. As I took my ight foot off the back brake pedal, my bike started tipping over to the right before I could get my foot planted on the ground. Down I went with my right leg trapped under the bike and somehow, my left leg got caught between the gearchange pedal and foot peg so I couldn't move. I managed to reach the ignition key and switch the bike off. Luckily, a couple of people saw me go down and came to help me. When I stood up, I quickly realised I had suffered some tendon and muscle damage to my right thigh. Anyway, I eventually managed to fill my bike up with petrol and gingerly ride home. I had 4 days of pain trying to go upstairs in our house and had a massive amount of bruising to my leg. I am currently in the process of fixing slight damage to my bike and will be out on it again soon. It happens to us all. Glad you didn't suffer any injury.

Ah Saffy, there is not one serious motorcyclist who has not dropped a bike. You are far from alone on that score so no-one is judging, only sympathizing.

Many years ago I went for a haircut prior to a ride-out. Job done I got back on the bike, bumped down a large curb to rejoin a wet road, gave it a handful (too much) of revs and spun out. Hell of a racket from the engine as the tyre parted company with the tarmac and me lying in the middle of the road with bemused onlookers grinning away. What a twat! So you're not on your own, believe me.

Don’t worry Saffy, I tried to ride off from Calne Bike Meet without removing my disc lock.
Luckily I was parked down a side street rather than the high street, so only two people saw me drop it.
    We all do it….right? 😳

Im sure all bikers have a dropped my bike in public story. I was filling my bike up at the petrol station, fully kitted from a rally. My girlfriend went to the toilet and I was at the bike, once filled I thought I'd be decent and move my bike out the way so that the people behind me could fill up and I decided to push my bike out of the way with the bike fully loaded and me holding my helmet on one arm and my girlfriends helmet on the other arm and then I lost my grip and dropped my bike in front of all the bikers and other motorists at the very busy petrol station.

We need to normalise dropping bikes - and encourage bike makers to design droppable bikes that take no damage from it. You see how many times Doodle drops hers? She rides humongous bikes - GSes, Harley baggers, all sorts - and when she started out dropping a bike was mentally a disaster, so embarrassing, but you get better at lifting them the more you drop them, and before you know it you're just fine with it, just a bump in the road.

    • @SaffySprocket
      @SaffySprocket  3 місяці тому +1

Absolutely! We need more droppable bikes for sure. Doodle is such a champ with those massive bikes! Dropping a bike is just part of the learning curve, and it gets easier to handle each time. It’s all about building confidence! 🏍💪😊

@@SaffySprocket indeed, and I get that it can be hard especially in the months after an injury. I had the silliest injury going: a chap was emerging out from a parking spot, pointing the wrong way in traffic. I looked at him, he looked at me, we each thought the other was letting us go, he pinned my left leg to my bike & slowly pushed me over before his reflexes kicked in & he stopped the car. 2 months, I had blood squishing around in my foot and an infection in my leg, so I'm on my back on the sofa. You drop a bike & it all comes back.
