I am always starting new crochet projects. Go great, until arthritis kicks in, then I put it down and start something new. Mistakes always happen, so I tear it out and start over. Therefore Blood, Sweat, Tears and Love go into all of my projects. Then I give them all away. So much fun to be had, when crafting.❤

I made stitch markers that I put a letter bead on of the different hook sizes. I can then put the marker on the project with the hook size for it.
It was a tip I got from "Hooked on Crocheting" channel.

Our ladies group at church makes plarn from plastic grocery bags and then crochet it into mats for the homeless! I made ONE! Because of arthritis in my right hand it was difficult for me and mine turned out pretty wonky! Instead of going straight up and across, it went up and at an angle! I didn't know what I did wrong or how to fix it. One of the other ladies figured it out and fixed it. So I stay with smaller things.😂 Thank you Glenda for all you do!❤

You are so funny Glenda. You are human. And yup I have done the same as you. I have a bee honeycomb blanket that all I have to do is sew the octogons together and add my three bumble bees. That has been sitting here for over 2 years now. I have started items and set them aside only to goback and have no idea what stitch I was doing. Tried taking part of the last row out and that did not help. I have directions written down, but have no idea what they are for. Try to figure it out...nope cannot do. So I understand how you feel. Welcome to my world now. 😊
And I love buying yarn. Especially when it is on sale. I have so many ideas but I seem to find a new idea and never go back to original idea. So I have all this yarn to make something with, but cannot remember exactly what I was going to make.
So NOW I plan to become organized and list all my yarns. By Fiber, yardage, color, and what I plan to make with it. Such as I know all my cotton is for dish cloths, towels, hot pads, wash cloths, baby bibs, etc.
That way I can look at my ledger notebook and know exactly what I have, along with my notions. Such as patches, buttons, etc.
I also do bead work. So I have many beads, in all colors, a couple sizes, etc. That will be my second BIG project to organize.
Have a wonderful, beautiful day Glenda. ❤🙏 from WI.

Whenever I start a new project I take a blank gift tag and write job the details: pattern name(& designer), hook size, yarn used and finished size. Then, when I have done the first 2 or three rows
ounds, I tie the tag into the first row. That way, if I put it down for any length of time I will know exactly what I need to easily carry on where I left off.

Oh my Glenda I can’t believe that there are so many people who have done this too. I thought it was just me lol….. my latest mess up was a Drunken granny stitch that called for two chains between the four and the one double crochet. I was only putting in one stitch after I picked it up again. It did not make any difference in the size so I didn’t notice but after about 20 rows, I noticed that the fabric was much more dense and thick more like a 3-D, then having the drape that it started out to half, so I went over my pattern which I hadn’t bothered to look at prior not only had I picked up the wrong hook just a size smaller but I had only been chaining one where I needed two , so frustrating I was getting so excited because the blanket was about done so Ribbit Ribbit I frog my way back to where I was good and I’m working on finishing it but oh so right make a note of your stitch style and in your case, the stitch number, and then the hook and even the yarn sometimes you need more of some thing and you have lost the binder on it and you have no memory of either that brand of yarn or the content now I am more advanced that I can guess a couple of the things pretty well but to go and buy the same exact yarn. It’s not always easy. So I make a list on my iPad of any project that I am working on with every notation I can think of, so that I can go back and check it all. But to me it is amazing that everyone even experts like yourself do these things it’s all in the worry about wasting time lol what a joke you waste way more time by not checking ha thanks for this cute video. Love your puzzle one

So much work you and Cody did! Now you have to do it again?! Your hubby should take the 3rd floor lol! My problem has been I set a project to the side and when I go back to it, I don't remember the stitch I was using, or maybe the hook size or both! Since I have extra hooks I try to remember to toss one in the bag along with either a pattern or a note of what the stitch is. I still sometimes forget! To help myself out, I've just stopped setting aside more than 2 projects at a time just in case!

Well I was crocheting up a storm listening to my program making sure to count each row, so after looking 👀 at my work 😢it was obvious my stitches were so much tighter than the other half! 🐸😱🤷🏻‍♀️ I was making a size large but I realized it’s way to big, I need to go down to a medium. Yes I have several WIP'S that I thought I would remember the pattern and hook size. My bucket list is constantly growing. I go buy more yarn for the additional projects that I want to make. Then don't finish the WIP'S I've already started. I did start one project that I want for Summer. I had to lay it aside to do a project for a kids class at Church that required crocheting 24 picture frames. I did put the hook in the yarn and wrote on a piece of paper the tutorial for the project and what my last row was. Paper is in the yarn 🧶 in the tote bag. Otherwise Glenda I have several WIP'S scattered around the house also. Glad you have Cody to help you. Have a Blessed day 💖.

Glenda this happens to me all the time. One of the afghans I'm was working on with the puzzle yarn was scraped. It starts out one size and started getting smaller because I couldn't remember the hook size. I don't have enough hooks to leave in the project bag, so I put my notes on the band rapped around the skein. The hook size, the designer and the name of the project if I remember, If I don't put the designer I'll be searching and guessing. Most the designers have their own signatures. You can tell their work just by looking at the stitches. But it can be a lot of work tracking down a project I started and stopped months ago and trying to figure the pattern that was being worked. I have at least 10 to 15 open projects. Good Luck.

Oh yes….mistakes here.🙋‍♀️ I feel for you. Unfortunately it happens to me too often than I’d like it to. I have so many projects started but when I go back to them I think that’s when I mess it up. I’ve given up and frogged so many projects. So frustrating.

I watch your videos on a iPhone. Once you get use to it you’ll like it. I had to force myself to finish a project before starting another one. I had to many going at the same time. I’m thankful Cody is helping. Hopefully you can get a new camera soon.

For the wip you have no hook in, take a couple of hooks and try them in a stitch, one will definitely be the hook size you were using.
    Love the blankets.

I have wips everywhere. I’m doing your garden afghan now. I finished the other one you did with the red heart ombré green but I did purple. I just needed to put the edge on and I didn’t have the project with me. My mom’s not doing well and my brother died so I’m not getting time or I’m just tired. Thank you for all the tutorials. The red afghan is beautiful. ❤️

I recently made a big mistake with a granny baby blanket…… instead of turning when I got to the join up, I just slip stitched up to next cluster. In the end, when I looked at finished blanket it was all ‘skew whiff’🙁’twisted’. I was so disappointed with it but I just thought once it was wrapped around a newborn baby….. it wd be ok. I give all my little blankets to ‘Baby Basics’. UK help for new mums, lovely. I adore this as I worked and am retired from NNICU. Grandsons and Granddaughters are the BEST HELPERS. As for your blanket that went a bit wrong, use it as a nice lap blanket it or donate it. I think of you every day because I start all my wee blankets with a Daisy which I learned from Creative Granny🥰.

Hey Jackson, MS here. I just found you and will check on your auction since I can't get out and have to order my yarn unless a friend will pick some up. I was diagnosed with MS(multiple sclerosis) Aug. 2011 so am also on SS(social security). The only thing I can do is crochet and knitting mostly afghans but some shawls and scarves also. I try to always be organized and keep things labled bu t family members keep moving my stuff and have thrown out some of my notes. I wish they respected me and not do that. The botched afghan will still work, just as seconds, which a lot of us are like in life!

I was so frustrated with a blanket kit I bought - I did a sample first over and over and could not understand one part. Finally got it but it was a learning curve for sure.
