SORRY BAGS TO FROM AMAZON LINK TO ORGANZA BREATHABLE BAGS I got some of each of the three largest in the white color www.pouchdepotinc.com/rectangular-organza-pouches/
I kept them in plastic and was ready to place an order for plastic bag like ice yarn but stronger . I think your solution is better. I will slowly transition, thank you
I get lingerie laundry bags, some are drawstring but I prefer the zipper (as long as the yarn doesn't get caught) I have thought about mesh bags but I would honestly make my own too. Also I get them from the dollar store or my work, it's only a dollar but if you wanna bigger sized one it's 2 bucks
Hi crystal. I used to store my yarn in those giant storage containers but they got so heavy that I would have to ask my husband to take a few off of the top so I could get to the yarn I wanted. He wasn’t too happy about that so I didn’t get to SEE all of my yarn that I had. Now I bought storage draws from Walmart. They have wheels on them so you could roll them out of your storage area without help. Or you don’t have to put the wheels on at all and just stack them. I’ve never seen a bug in my yarn but I saw a video on UA-cam that bugs don’t like bounce dryer sheets. They hate them. So I put a sheet of bounce in the bottom of each draw. Now not only do I NOT have to ask for help I can just open any draw to play with my yarn cause we all like to do that. Also I sort my yarn into groups like baby yarn or scarf yarn or for a blanket. Makes it easier for everyone. They say oh she’s in her yarn again. Lol 😂
All my totes have cards attached with quantity counts and yarn specs (yardage & thickness) . I wrap my whites in acid free tissue paper. All the yarn is stored with like colors and content (blues , blacks & purple wool with similar or same wool etc.). I have big skeins of wool Aran from 40yrs ago from a sale for 50 cents each. I bought all they had, over 200. My husband at the time thought I was nuts. I told him it would last for years and save a ton of money. He’s passed on now , but I’m pretty sure I still have 20+ left. It’s still fabulous because I took care of it. It never goes out of style either. I Love my yarn. ❤️
Wow, I'm so glad you corrected that statement! Lol! My 71 year old heart almost choked when you said if you come and help me u can have all the yarn u can stuff into a tote! First I thought of how long it would take me to get there from Tennessee. Second I thought of what it would take me to get my husband to drive me there...(I still have not recovered enough oof my sight from long hauler covid effects to be able to drive yet). Third I thought of all the hundreds of traffic jams we would have to negotiate with folks heading straight for your wool stash! Fourth, I remembered, thankfully, we are broke and our soc. sec. Check has not got here yet! And then as my heart got its rhythm back you said you were just kidding. Whew! Quick thinking for an old lady, eh? Thought u would like my funny story of There and back again all in one night. LOL
I agree that we need to treat things with respect and honor regardless of price. We need to be good stewards of everything that comes our way. Thank you for this valuable info!
My thoughts on everything. Just as when my parents bought their first home 30 years ago they purchased a lot of decore from Ltd magazine (known for cute decor that's also a bit on the cheap side) for no reason than being affordable. To this day there are still some pieces that they purchased that are present in the house! Treat things correctly and they last a lifetime
What a fantastic idea! Love the bags. I've been doing the totes forever but adding the bags is a great idea. Would also be good to put lavender, peppermint, or even dryer sheet in the totes to help keep the bugs out. They also sell cedar balls you could add. Bugs are so sneaky they will get into the smallest spaces. I like peppermint tea bags , it's already self contained.
I think your new system is well thought out. Here's what I do out of necessity. People say I have too much yarn (not), and I've had people in the past actually walk around my house looking for yarn to see if I purchased any more. For size comparison, I've only got about enough yarn to complete maybe ten or twelve afghans (which I like to give away). Not a lot. What I do is this. I have seats, hassocks, furniture that have storage inside under the cushions. This is where I put my yarn. People can sit on them. Mostly my cats sit on them. It's right in front of people's nosy noses and they don't even know it's there. I agree with you that yarn, and textiles, have to be protected from bugs (and mold). I'm a yarn sniffer/hugger, too. I love it. Great idea for an episode, glad you presented it. (By the way, Darian Roscoe was my beloved cat who I miss with all my heart. My name is Kat--and I'm not a cat. Lol!)
I have very limited space and a strict budget. I store my yarn in totes but I store it by project. Once a project is completed I allow myself to purchase yarn for another project and that will go in the now empty tote which are stacked in my bedroom. God bless everyone. Thank you Crystal for all you do for all of us.
Great Video. thanks for proving that it pays to keep yarn organized and safe. lol my husband thinks I am strange. (back story) So we have 5 cats and go through a lot of litter. and I have gone through several different kinds of litter. I came across Tidy Cat and found it to work very well. well I order 6 buckets at a time from chewy now and am now called the yellow bucket queen. I first made a storage bucket for our big orange extension cords. cut a hole in the back buttom for the cord to plug into the outlet. then on the front cut a slot for the cord to come out for what ever it needs to be plugged into. when you are done, plug the female (back portion) into the male (front part) wind up the cord that was used. close the lid, lift the bucket by your by the handle and BAM!! So I started using the buckets for other storage things. Now I use them for my yarn. I now store project yard in a cleaned out bucket. I also put 1 hole per side close to the top. lastly, I love to put smelly socks into every bucket except the ones with tools or hard drives. Downey laundry beads and mismatched socks. pour a quarter of a lid into a mismatch or single sock (we have many of those) use a zip tie to close it and just plop it into every bucket with yarn. I have a whole wall of stacked yellow buckets. all labeled with what project or kind of yarn. they are easily decorated with contact paper or designer Duct Tape. with the handle it is easy to take on the go. .................. these Buckets are also great for packing an emergency kit. so, I get cat litter, use it in our litter buckets, and not fill the landfill with empty sturdy buckets. Thank you and you are welcome.
I like those mesh bags. I wish I had room for totes of yarn. I love your storage style. Thank you for sharing with us. Lots of love and hugs to you Crystal.
I love your tip on storing yarn. I usually keep mine in totes also but I don't have near as much yarn as you, Crystal. I never thought about the mesh bags, what a great idea. Love your tutorials and giveaways! You are such a generous young lady, Crystal! Thanks for ALL you do. I would be glad to help you sort n store your yarn just to hear crocheting wisdom from a pro!!! Take care!!!❤
Thanks for all the yarn storage tips, updates. Love all these wonderful subscriber comments too! I keep an established yarn stash listing, (I chose my free Ravelry account for this purpose), with very detailed info as well as yarn purchase dates, fiber, weight, colors etc, and when I store my yarn in totes, I work up 'cut/paste info from my Ravelry listings onto my tote tag labels. Each yarn in the tote listing usually appears as a detailed one-liner, so I can cut/paste/customize my totes labelling very efficiently, and then that helps me know exactly what's in the totes, and I can also highlight purchase and storage date, quantity, and intended use of yarn on my tags, as I try to work up donation projects within roughly a next 12 month period, for example. I also can easily find stash yarns I decide not to use, amend my Ravelry stash list, and then donate those yarns locally. I keep a smaller notebook of intended yarn/pattern compatible future projects and ideas,( including Bag O Day tutorials and suggestion !!!), and that also allows this 'yarny fanatic' to know which totes (by number labelling) to find the yarn easily, rather than get too wishy washy and dazed out by all the out ot sight yarny goodness. I have been on my crochet journey for only 4 years now, like to have multiple WIPS, and am trying to maintain a reasonable budget, and still learn crochet techniques. So my storage system keeps me "in line". and also lets me have all the fun I could dream up without the stress. btw, I have a few separate notebook storage binders for patterns, favorite designers, or new yarns of interest, as many other crafters certainly do. Too many amazing yarns find their future on the yarn "discontinued" lists way too soon. (Ugh!!) For me, these calculated "extra steps" I take really go hand in hand with my yarn storage.
This was a good video. I love the way crystal talks about her yarn. You really can see the love for it on her face. I would die to have half the yarn she has.
Hi Crystal! You are so generous in all you do. I have made a few of your patterns from your tutorials. So pretty. I have my eye on that" easy crochet cardigan", which I am looking forward to making. Would be a definite if I were lucky enough to win this give away. Which is over the top. Anyway, just being able to learn from you is a gift as well. So, thank you for all you share. All the free kindness acts you stated in this video are just common courtesy which would make the world a happier place if everyone would just follow them. Again, thanks for all you do.
I used to store my yarn in those plastic and wire cubes until they fell down. Now I store all of my yarn in huge totes. I made a spreadsheet of all of my yarn with the names, quantity and color, and I've printed a sheet of paper for each tote so I know what's in them since I can't see through the tote. I'm very organized. lol
I store my yarn in plastic totes with the yarn size on the top of the totes. Really helps to find the right size yarn for the project I want to work on
Right now I have alot of yarn that I have had for years because of the way I was working I just didn't do any crocheting. I had it in totes and stored in the attic. I think there is still some up there. Now what I have down in the main house it is stored in totes and milk crates. I have so many different types that when I bought it I was just getting it and thinking all yarn was the same and then I started watching your videos and learned about yarn. I thank you for that. Now I have to use it all up before I can buy any more. Watching alot of your tutorials for that. Again I can't say thank you enough for what you have taught me. I tell everyone I know that crocheting about you.
I usually put a dryersheet in mine to keep bugs and moths away in the toats. I have also shrink wrapped some of my yarn as well. Wish I lived closer I would help you for the fun of it.
I wouldn’t use dryer sheets, it’s highly carcinogenic.. The petrochemical based artificial scents used in commercial dryer sheets have 100s of compounds that are considered carcinogenic. Really. I make perfumes and I know about scents and though I’m not a chemist, I know professional chemists who told me this. Stay away from commercial dryer sheets for real. You can use cedar wood or lavender flowers.
I poke a hole in the plastic bags so they stay fresh. I keep some yarn in my "Yarnia Closet" made out of mahogany. It's actually a wardrobe. The yarn I have in totes I put dryer sheets in them, that keeps the bugs out. Since I love in a flood zone, drilling holes in them makes me leary. It's an awesome idea and I get the logic but with my circumstances, I'll start away from that. I do open them up once or twice a month to get stuff out of them. Thank you for the tips with the mesh bags, I love that idea. Stay safe and hydrated.
Yes Crystal I agree about taking care of your yarn. I mean if your like me, I'm not sure when I may get time to work up all of my yarn. I have grown Grand daughters and a 3 year old Great Grand daughter and I plan on being around to sew and crochet for them and I have to keep material and yarn safe. Thank you so much for your help.
Thank you 💕 for you. I saw you once in an split screen interview your story of how you learned. Grabbed my heart. I liked you before but that. But now even more
Thank you for sharing, I never gave it a thought and as you say we spend a lot of money on our yarn and don't want them being destroyed by bugs and moths. Have a beautiful day xxx
I store mine in open wire crates attached to the wall. I want to be able to see my beautiful yarn. Placing in a tote defeats my reasoning in having various textures and colors. Seeing my yarns gives me great motivation and satisfaction
I have the same. I have a lot of overflow though stacked on top! I can’t fit any more wire crates as it does become unstable. Maybe one day I could put up wood shelves.
From a military spouse with 19 cross state and overseas moves in 28 years suggestion: throw a dryer sheet (even dollar tree kind) into your box and it will keep the bugs away. I’ve done this for decades into all material of any kind boxes for storage or moving. Never had a problem with any bugs. I currently keep my yarn in my secretariat desk drawers with dryer sheets as well.
I store my overflow yarn in totes and have a cube organizer with the cloth drawers full of yarn..I have lot more yarn now, since I started watching your videos...lol. You have inspired me to make more items and try new yarns. Thank you for sharing your tutorials, yarn hauls and give a ways!
Yes, Crystal I've stacked my yarn just like you for years with the mesh bags and in totes. I even have some expensive yarn in silk pillowcases stored. It works the same way. Haven't had any problems in the past 12 years. Before that I stacked them on shelves.
Very clever idea. I recently started storing mine in mess bags and sticking them in a cario cabnet. But that was to organize them together. Never thought of preserving it this way. Thanks for the video.
Fascinating I was so surprised when you showed the storage box and called it a tote in the uk a tote is a zip topped bag. I find the differences in word meaning so interesting and as always you’ve taught me something new, I love this idea fir yarn storage and will definitely be looking at getting some more of these bags, thank you Crystal stay safe love and hugs xx
Great storage tips from you and in the comments. I’m building up an embarrassing collection of yarn. So storing it properly has become a priority. Thank you.
I have made some of your baskets 🧺 and maybe the cats bed with higher sides. My scraps are in a Costco cheese balls container, where I make them into single round granny squares to be put together in strips and made into blankets. I also have completed Gifts 🎁 in a heavy plastic zippered blanket bag. Thanks for sharing. This year is the first time I've had a stash. So I will be using some of your ideas when I get home to Arizona.
Hiya Crystal 🤗 I also store my yarn in totes like you I will now be purchasing the mesh bags & drilling few holes in the totes to preserve it all. Thanx 4 The Info 👍 HAPPY CROCHECTING 💜
Thank you so much for sharing... I store my yarn in the same plastic totes you use and I place dryer sheets inside the totes so that the yarn doesn’t smell old or stale... But I am definitely going to take my specialty yarns and place them in the organza bags... Because the more special the yarn the more particular I am with the project I use it on so I want to make sure the yarn is in pristine shape when I go to use it... No matter how long it takes me to come up with the perfect project for it!!! Thank You!
I just recently got into different hand dyed fiber yarns, like alpaca, camel hair and yak. I used to store my goodies in like 5 hank size zip lock bags in canvas totes. To keep the bugs at bay. Didn't think about it needing to breathe! Thank you Crystal! I'd come help just to be able to give back something to you. (well and admire/feel all that gorgeous yarn)
Protecting one's investment is always a good idea. Thanks for sharing the idea you came up with for this. And if I lived closer I would come help you just so I could learn more things from you and have fun.
Make sure you drill the holes in the top of the sides. If you do the bottom of the sides and get flooding , you don't want water damage. Great idea Crystal, thank you!
Great idea. I do the same. I totally agree with the mesh bags notion. I tuck in some soap pieces, laundry sheets or scented bags to keep my yarn fresh with nice smell. It’s also a way to keep bugs away 😊
I store my yarn in canvas blanket bags. They are made just like the clear, heavy plastic bags that comforters and bedspreads come in but made of heavy fabric. They are like a cube, with a zipper along the top edge that opens like a lid, have side handles for lifting and stack really well. Plus they are breathable and don't cost much.
Thank you Crystal for the link to get the breathable bags. I have stored my yarn in totes in the closet. Most of the yarn I have is been inherited from my mother after she passed. My siblings do not crochet or would not use the same yarn as she used.
Hi, Chrystal. I am so glad you made this video. I keep my yarn in totes but not the mesh bags, and it makes good sense. Bugs in our yarn...ewww, but it's true and the reality. Thanks for sharing this information with us.
Lol, I keep mine on a cedar shelf unit, and in totes. It keeps the bugs out (the kittens too), and by opening the totes for a day or two, the air circulates well. I don't have wool yarn, I'm allergic, so I'm not worried about the issues that come with storing wool yarn. My cotton hanks, I keep in a mesh bag, similar to the ones you use, and hang them from the ceiling. I'm so glad to see someone passionate about caring for these amazing fibers. Best to you, Crystal.
👋 ms Crystal, i do store my yarns in containers and in roll away storage totes...the small, left overs are put in ziplock baggies and tossed into the containers. Thanks for sharing...and you are right, make them last and protected 🤗👍💕
Thank you very much Crystal for video. I have been contemplating how to store my helpers of my imagination of all the beautiful things we can create together. I have been storing my beauties much like you have been doing. I have been constructing an idea of how to use lucite and mesh as I too enjoy admiring the textures of these beautiful fibers and don't wish to store them away to be not gazed upon. I love your idea of the mesh bags but perhaps wools etc hung in the bags in a spiral on hooks ....anyway thank you so very much! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Sounds like a great idea!👍 When we moved house last year I discovered moths all through my fleeces for spinning.... EEEEK!😲 They'd got into some of my yarn too, so it can happen!😥 I don't have a lot of yarn & what I do have are either in plastic tubs or in my 16 cube storage shelves in my craft room.🥰 Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
😆 If I could I would definitely take you up on that offer. Just the opportunity to talk yarn with you and see and touch all of the beautiful yarn would be payment enough. 😁💜
I.... Uh...(counts people)...4th! That! Would totally come help and hang out! It would give me something to do other than my day job! Not sure how far from Ohio you are though!
I'm only 2 hour drive away from you I would be happy to come help! Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks! As usual Crystal you're absolutely amazing!!!
Fabulous video. You can also use a soldering iron to make the holes in the totes. That’s how the reptile keepers make breathe holes in plastic totes; I would suggest wearing a mask for the fumes.
OMG. if I lived closer to you I would be at your doorstep right now to help you with the yarn!!! It would be a dream come true. Would love it, would love it, would love it. I have some delicious spice tea I would bring for us to relax with during our breaks. Unfortunately, I live out here in Colorado and I have had to cut my driving down. Oh if I could just transport myself I would be there in a minute to help. I am sure you will get plenty of help. I will be there in spirit!
Never thought about the mesh bags...i do however have a million (excess I know) Really Useful Boxes (totes) that are airtight and have holes already drilled...they were a bit costly but liked them so much for my yarns...I was willing to pay for them...over time, i have amassed so many...but will think about adding the mesh bags...i make hats, hats, and hats and am a beanie lover...learned to crochet hats because i could not find any in retail that suited me and my hair...i only knew how to crochet a straight line and wanted to learn more...crochet geek taught me how...so with many books and other online tutorials have learned to read patterns and now, my yearly goal is to make hats for the homeless shelter in my area, as well as hats for me and my family...thank you for this idea...tj kollis
What a lovely idea…mesh bags. I don’t have to worry about my yarn because I don’t buy a lot. I only keep enough for a few projects at a time. This is an affordable way for me. I wish I lived close to you…I would so enjoy helping you…I would think I died and went to yarn 🧶 heaven lol
Hi Chrystal I store my yarn in plastic bins like you but a little smaller. The difference is I stack them standing up. This way when I open the bin I can see exactly what I have without digging under neath the pile. I have stored them this way for 50 years and have never had trouble with squashed yarn, no bugs, no humidity, etc. Try putting them in standing up so you see everything in the bin all at once. Best wishes!
I go to antique stores and flea markets and buy wooden baskets of all shapes and sizes and store my yarn in them and place the baskets throughout my craft room. Gives a decorative element and a visual reminder of what i have to work with. As the baskets empty, I then can order more yarn. 😀
My husband took milk crates and screwed them to the wall in our bedroom and I store my skeins of yarn that way. Also for my cakes he made me 2 shelves that I have those are stored on. So I have 2 walls in my bedroom that is nothing but yarn and craft supplies! Plus I have totes upstairs that are my scrap yarns in as well. Thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks for the great suggestion for storing yarn. I don't think that the way you do it is excessive. It's smart! (I would love to come and help you if you lived closer.)
Love your idea. I don't have to worry about having too much yarn. My husband doesn't allow me to purchase it. What I do have is usually what my daughter finds at the Goodwill. Love all your videos, you the best.
It’s important to take care of our stuff so I think your way of storing yarn is awesome, Crystal. I keep my yarn in a lightweight shelving unit inside of 1 of my closets. It’s a double closet so half of it is yarn and the other half is other stuff. I just slide the door open and there it is! Take care. Sending Florida love ☀️💙
Thanks for sharing Crystal. If I lived closer I would come and help just being around all that yarn of beauty and visiting with you it would be amazing.
Hello Crystal. I enjoyed your video and you gave me some good pointers regarding storing my bags of yarn. I also watched Glenda with Creative Grandma and she also gave some good ideas. One thing she mentioned that you didn't mention was that she uses those little silicone bags that comes with new shoes or boxed clothing, etc. She just drops a bag in her plastic bag of yarn. You mentioned that you ordered some mesh bags from Amazon, so since I don't have any, I think I will also order some from Amazon too. Thank you so much Crystal.
Great information... I store my yarn in the giant sized ziplock bags, the ones for storing toys, clothes etc. The pack comes with four bags for about 7 bucks I believe. Also, I store my yarn in those foldable storage cubes from dollar tree. I also have a bucket with lid in which I store completed crochet projects.
If I only lived closer to you, I would come over and gladly help you rearrange your yarn storage ! Just hang out with some cocktails, and I would be able to experience the look & feel of all those incredible yarns you have ! That would be payment enough !!!
i'd never thought of this!! tysm for bringing up the dry rot and plastic bags, i really appreciate it and will be adjusting my hoard accordingly as well ^^
I've stored yarn in lightweight plastic bags for 25 years, had no problem. I live in Southern California, not near the ocean. I purchase water proof plastic containers from The Container Stores, since having purchased much more yarn. . Just throw yarn in with nothing except cedar blocks. I have some yarn in mesh bags with cedar block and hang in ceiling of storage room. You probably have thousands thanks, cakes eyc., of yarn. A lot of work. 🧶Have fun🤗🤗

@@juliemccann9374 welcome! I just had to put it all down in a text. It was too funny to keep to myself!
Made me smile too read your story. And I needed a smile tonight.
@@walker6828 happy to oblige. It gets kinda crazy after 70...lol
Laughing here!
You spend a lot of money on yarn… it makes perfect sense to take the extra special care to store it. Yarn is what we love! ❤️
Thank you so much for the input on storing yarn. I love watching you. You are amazing. Hugs from Arkansas.💖💕🦋
I agree that we need to treat things with respect and honor regardless of price. We need to be good stewards of everything that comes our way. Thank you for this valuable info!

Totes are wonderful. I've been storing my yarn in them for decades. I've been crocheting for almost 50 years.😊😊😊
What a fantastic idea! Love the bags. I've been doing the totes forever but adding the bags is a great idea. You are a mind reader, I have been pondering over this for months and could not do figure out a way, thank you again my friend you help a ole lady out
I agree with you Crystal about taking extra care of the yarn until it’s being used. I love you idea! I’m going to have to try it.
I have very limited space and a strict budget. I store my yarn in totes but I store it by project. Once a project is completed I allow myself to purchase yarn for another project and that will go in the now empty tote which are stacked in my bedroom. God bless everyone. Thank you Crystal for all you do for all of us.
I admire your discipline so much. I'm trying to put myself on a strict yarn budget now with less than stellar results 😅
I have always just stored my yarn in air tight totes and never had issues, but this is a genius idea and I like it a lot!🥰
Great Video. thanks for proving that it pays to keep yarn organized and safe. lol my husband thinks I am strange.
Wow!
This was a good video. I love the way crystal talks about her yarn. You really can see the love for it on her face. I would die to have half the yarn she has.
Thanks for telling us how to keep our yarn safe. ❤
Oh my gosh I never even thought about keeping my yarn safe. Thanks Crystal!
Thank you Crystal. I get the moth balls packet with Lavender scent in little packets. Love it. I love your idea.
I'm very organized. lol
Love the idea of labeling the totes. Don’t know why I’ve never thought of that. Thanks for sharing.
I love this idea thank you ☺️
Great idea for totes that aren't clear
Impressive! 😀
I have mine in bags in totes organized by fiber and color. Thanks for the ideas everyone!
I usually put a dryersheet in mine to keep bugs and moths away in the toats. I have also shrink wrapped some of my yarn as well. Wish I lived closer I would help you for the fun of it.
Dryer sheets keep moths away?
Dryer sheets keep lots of creepy crawly things away
Put one in the mailbox to keep bees out. Is another use for dryer sheets.
I like the idea of taking a little time and very little money to protect the yarn we work so hard for. Thank you
Yes Crystal I agree about taking care of your yarn.
But now even more
Thank you. Learning a lot about yarn and what works best for different seasons and wearables.
I don't think your storage idea is excessive at all. Very smart. I am going to order some mesh bags!! Thanks for sharing 💜
Thank you for sharing this with us. I have been keeping my yarn and projects in plastic containers. So now I have to switch it up.
Hey Crystal! Thanks for sharing. I also use those little silicone gel bags to keep moisture away from my yarn. Take care!!
I think it’s smart to store them in a safe manner. Yarn isn’t free and it is truly a major component of your business. Good idea!
Hiya Crystal 🤗 I also store my yarn in totes like you I will now be purchasing the mesh bags & drilling few holes in the totes to preserve it all. Thanx 4 The Info 👍
HAPPY CROCHECTING 💜
Hi Crystal,
Makes great sense! I will definitely be drilling holes in my totes! Good storage makes for a great stash!
Hi Crystal that’s a good idea. First the plastic bend now the mesh bad sound better.
Hi Crystal! I don’t think it’s excessive! You have a lot of yarn and yarn is expensive and precious! Great job!! Thanks for sharing! 😊💖
You’re so cute Chrystal. I love this idea of bagging yarn in those bags. LOVE IT.💞Stay safe….
I'd love to know where you get the bags from, or if your talented and make them.
@@crystalhayes2247 me too. What are the dimensions of them?
@@crystalhayes2247 You can find them just about any place. I got mine on Amazon
@@PatricesProjects Look on Amazon, they have lots of different sizes
Great information I'm new to crocheting and was wondering how to store my yarn thank-you 🥰
Hi Crystal 🤗. I am fairly new to crochet, so I appreciate all of the tips you give us. Thank you for sharing 🤗🤗
What a great way to take care of your yarn. Now I have to go to work. All my yarn are in boxes.
Me tooooo xoxo that would be fiberastic!
Yep I would have not have any problem helping and chit chatting about yarn
These are great storage tips, I don't have a big yarn collection but what I do have I also would like to store properly. Thanks for sharing love
Thank you for the storage tips. It will help once I get my yarn room started.
Such great ideas. Nothing to excessive to take care of it. I wish I lived close enough to just visit with you. Hugs 🤗 😇
Love that color blue hand dyed yarn.
Once I get my seat in the plane from Scotland I’ll be there to help, lol. Great tips🧶👍🤗
🤣🤣🤣
Hi Chrystal
I store my yarn in plastic bins like you but a little smaller.
I have yarn on bookshelves, in totes and on my bedroom closet shelf. This is the most yarn I've ever had. Bought while on sale.
Thanks for your suggestions. I am starting to reorganize my craft room.
I go to antique stores and flea markets and buy wooden baskets of all shapes and sizes and store my yarn in them and place the baskets throughout my craft room. Gives a decorative element and a visual reminder of what i have to work with. As the baskets empty, I then can order more yarn. 😀
Thank you Crystal for sharing and giving such great tips🥰
My husband took milk crates and screwed them to the wall in our bedroom and I store my skeins of yarn that way. Also for my cakes he made me 2 shelves that I have those are stored on. So I have 2 walls in my bedroom that is nothing but yarn and craft supplies! Plus I have totes upstairs that are my scrap yarns in as well. Thanks for sharing!!!
Kayla, you have a good husband there. He’s a keeper!
Thanks for the great suggestion for storing yarn. I don't think that the way you do it is excessive. It's smart! (I would love to come and help you if you lived closer.)
Thank you for this video. It will help me protect my yarn better.
Love your idea. I don't have to worry about having too much yarn. My husband doesn't allow me to purchase it. What I do have is usually what my daughter finds at the Goodwill. Love all your videos, you the best.
Great video Crystal, I like that idea with the mesh bags and into clear totes 😀.
Thank you for sharing your tips with us. I keep my yarn in huge legal filing cabinets.
Thank u for showing us ur way of storing yarn
Great information...
I store my yarn in the giant sized ziplock bags, the ones for storing toys, clothes etc. The pack comes with four bags for about 7 bucks I believe. Also, I store my yarn in those foldable storage cubes from dollar tree. I also have a bucket with lid in which I store completed crochet projects.
Thank you Crystal for another great yarn learning experience
I wish I lived close enough to help you out 🙂🙂🙂 I love those organza bags for storing my yarn!
A lot of great information! I currently put the yarn in baggies then in totes. Then on my shelving unit. Thanks 🥰🥰🥰🧶🧶🧶🧶
If I only lived closer to you, I would come over and gladly help you rearrange your yarn storage ! Just hang out with some cocktails, and I would be able to experience the look & feel of all those incredible yarns you have ! That would be payment enough !!!
Thanks Crystal, I just keep mine in totes. I have to check out the bags. Have a great day.
Awww I wish I could come over to help you with your yarn. 😉 Thank you Crystal for all of your great tips on how to take care of yarn. 🙂
i'd never thought of this!! tysm for bringing up the dry rot and plastic bags, i really appreciate it and will be adjusting my hoard accordingly as well ^^
I've stored yarn in lightweight plastic bags for 25 years, had no problem. 🧶Have fun🤗🤗
