I guess I know have 3 armies given the pricing on the spirits … my elves (old school) I think are 1750 alone with all my lovely dancers and watchers (still exquisite models)

pretty sure the 'one shooting attack per phase' is for missile weapons, not spells. you can totally shoot your fireball and also use your shooting attack. :)
also, that branchwraith went absolutely berserk, she deserves a trophy from the beastmen on her base for that atavistic display
Amazing mate thanks. I was torn on this topic. The line about one shooting attack threw me but I gave the benefit of the doubt to my opponent. Thanks, I suspected as much after the game
The stepping up thing makes sense to me. If you were stepping up into the front rank, you would probably have to defend yourself as the enemy can attack you. If you were stepping up to the second rank, you have a friendly in front of you so you could concentrate your efforts on jabbing your spear!
Beastmen, for me, will always sound like that one screaming goat viral video.

Hello, yea high initiative assailment is good. Clarified on P 158 of the BBB, the wizard casts on their initiative order.
Another good battle, Chris just casually pulling out another beautiful army, would be awesome if he had more but also not because the jealousy would be even worse! haha. I love the movement phase vignettes you guys are doing with the 'clamour of battle' soundscape and the artful (nice depth of field) side-on view, VERY cool!

I really, really enjoyed the smaller game size. I would need to play more games of course but in my opinion it made the list making harder and more interesting. I'm a big big fan of 1750 especially until I become more familiar with the rules

Let me be the first to say that gors with hand weapon and shield are one hand weapon shy of being able to do "gor things".
Yeah, the 6+ is almost pointless, defo go with extra hand weapons to throw extra death at the enemy.
Your battle mat & scenery are magnificent! it really makes your whole game incredibly professional, really well done!

Love the bat rep! Just a heads up move through cover still means you take dangerous terrain, but reroll 1's the first roll. It does matter because I've lost some of my woodies to it this edition.

Also the way I read MTC you still take the lowest die in your Charge Roll. It just says you don't reduce the Movement Characteristic.
Question about Daemons: What I can deduce from the new rules, their BSB does not give them any re-rolls on Ld/Break test. Comments? Thoughts?
So daemons work differently. They don't suffer from break tests the same as other factions. They instead can lose wounds or completely disappear into the ether. The BSB is worth it as it mitigates against the risk of units disappearing entirely and reduces how many wounds they suffer from instability. Worth it in my opinion
Oh I think I know what you mean now. Do you mean you don't get to reroll the result like other armies. I'll have to look into it a bit more to see if the battle standard does or does not get the reroll
@@Chris_da_Waaagh Yes, in older editions you got to re-roll it. Even get models back on snake eyes. But this version does not allow it. Look for example at VC:s BSB and how they describe it there compared to Daemons. The good think about Daemons Loucs is that it does stack with Infernal Favour.
So the way I read this is that they do not lose their hold your ground ability on a BSB so you would get your reroll. In the VC and tomb kings section it says it replaces the rulebook rule, whereas the daemons entry does not say it does. @@00Kuja00

They are. But I think you have skipped the intro 😂 I don't own any and DC kindly allowed me to ignore that rule so we could a nice thematic battle going. I've just finished a unit of 5 glade guard to fit my theme so I now have a legal army 😊

They are custom made using proper branches
1:40 the break test from the multiple combat. FBIGO states the unit strength of the winning side is more than twice the loosing side. It doesn't mention units, so I think there would not be an auto fleet as the Woodelves have US 12 (that is a quick count) vs 17 Bestigor. I've not played a game yet so more a question that me saying its wrong.
Note that Unit Strength is worked out at the
end of the Combat phase, not at the beginning,
and that where you have several units engaged
in a single combat, you must add together the
Unit Strength of each to determine the Unit
Strength of your side

@snbattlereports a guy cleared this up on facebook. essentially just count how many models you can make at the start, including supporting. if unit of spears is 5x3 ranks that's 10 models attacking. then if 3 models killed you can still make 7/10 attacks, 6/10 models killed you can make 4 attacks etc. it's on page 150 of the brb

The Huge Tree didn't run away in fear, it was a gambit to pull the Beastman's Leader unit out of position where they would get surrounded! Awesome battle, I'm really happy the Elves won as I was rooting tor the Trees from the start! Also great impresion of a wavy tree there by Mr Chris! I don't mind Mr DC losing in Old World as long as he is winning in Heresy!

59:18 NICE! Passed Primal Fury on doubles triggers Blood Rage giving the unit frenzy. Could have tipped the scales in that fight. Love seeing Beastmen out on the field

I guess dryads have dropped down to 1 wound. The Warband rule is very powerful! Gives orcs and Goblins better leadership than Black orcs.

These just keep getting better and better. There are a few out there now doing Old Wolrd reports, but this is the best channel I have found (so far to be completely fair). Good length, not too long, gives enough detail and steady camera angles, nice set up with rule explainations but not too strict either. Nice!y done. (And sorry about the resurrection rule before again)

Yeah I done a little bit of modelling to fit him in a 50x50mm base. Great weapons do strike last at initiative 1, but then you add your modifiers after that for charging etc

Hate to be that guy but you lost 7 gors not 5 in that fight on the left flank. Hence why those two had to step up, prompting the discussion about supporting attacks.

Aw man I gotta watch this again. I could've swore only 2 died that round which is why he had 4 bodies fighting in the front rank followed by all 6 from the back = 11 attacks. Lemme watch again haha
Na it was done right mate. Just checked back. Because it was initiative order, my dryads fought first and killed 2 ungors. Then his ungors fought back because my branchwraith was initiative 1 with her great weapon. He gets all his supporting attacks and 4 models also attacking in the front rank. Then my branchwraith went and killed more. Because it's all done in initiative order.
But you are right that when calculating combat res we missed out 2 and only counted 5 kills instead of 7 lol. Silly us!

I think you can always make supporting attacks from the second rank (if you have a Spear or other weapon that allows it). As I understand it, only the models that have to step up into the FIGHTING RANK can't attack anymore.
Correct, except for the situation of excess casualties. If you cause more wounds than is in the fighting rank, you will lose attacks from models in the supporting rank equal to the number of excess casualties.
@@Chris_da_Waaagh Good catch! I think Spear units really benefit from going more than 5 models wide. 6 or maybe 7 wide could be the sweetspot between defense/ablative wounds, manouverability and still having enough ranks to get static combat res.
Don't worry, I ve been playing 6 games of 6th edition in the last few months before TOW, my total is : 4 losses, 2 draws, 0 victory ;)

Those Branchwraith assailment spells need re-balancing, they are frankly ridiculous. Every game I have watched with them just annihilate every unit they fight.
Do skirmishers not make supporting attacks when in combat? I'm looking in the BBB and can't seem to find where it's written
They do not mate unless they have spears or a weapon that allows them to fight in extra ranks. But my dryads have 2 attacks each

1:40:00 there is no more than double Unit Strength, you must sum dryads and treeman 6+5=11 VS 16. There is no Break & Flee
