I thoroughly enjoyed your vid. Loved all the extra time you showed in the engine room, bilges and underwater. For those of us who really take care of boats, that was very educational. Thanks!
Late friend of mine was a rigger and he asked me to go with on a few sailboat deliveries mostly inland lakes. Once on the east coast of Florida. Palm beach area. Good times! Really cool to ride along with ya. Good video and new subscriber!
So the rope you took of the starboard prop also snagged the port while spooling up, thus the shock sheared of the bolts, the bolds are there for that reason as a designed point of failure. The props, the hull and engines costs far more to repair than 4 bolts, that the yoke broke loos is concerning though. Thanks for sharing. My two cent
There is a lot of cleaning that never gets seen. The captain is really good about it.... Myself, I catch myself accidentally putting fingerprints places sometimes when I shouldn't. Then the captain would spot them and give them a quick wipe. Made me feel a little bad, but then I started remembering to watch my fingerprints and even wiping them up after I made them.
Thanks, Captain Smith, for the tour. Thats a marvelous piece of modern machinery right there. You're gonna have to bring the fixins for the Vienna bites to HangCon 2025. That was a great mistake on the Tripdip by the way. See ya on the next vid. Talk to you at HangCon 2025. Love ya too, Floridahanger
Just FYI for anyone in the comments about using simple green. Do not use the regular simple green on aluminum. It is a known cause of metal imbrittlement on aluminum parts. They do make an aviation simple green. It does about 85% as good of a job, but is formulated to be safe on aluminum. You just need to scrub and or use 15% more..... Lol It does cost a bit more, and can be harder to find. But, it's not THAT much more, and it's really not hard to find online.
I used to think that the Florida Crock was a myth until I started seeing them. They love those open waterway areas. Like marinas, bays, mouth of rivers, streams and creeks. Watching you guys secure the prop and ringing the prop like a dinner bell had my anxiety on full alert lol. Because its not just the crocks.... it's the bullsharks territory as well. Spent a lot of off season time in my teens swimming off of crab Island and have seen some things. Bullsharks running prey to ground on the beach and Crocks swimming by with medium sized dogs. I've spent enough time in Florida to know there are 2 places you don't go. Under mobile homes or into murky water😂 Worked a summer as a Nuisance Animal Removal Professional.... being the smallest guy I had to climb under trailers of a 55+ community. Cats, Dogs and wildlife was coming up missing. Retention ponds didn't have any gators big enough to take down the size of some of the dogs that disappeared. But the 15.5 foot Burmese I found under this 93 year old woman's trailer did and it was sitting on a large clutch of eggs.
Nice Yacht! How much do you need to fill up the tank, and how far can you go? How many nautical miles can you cover with all tanks full of fuel? What type of fuel can this yacht take?
This is why I hate “Dripless” shaft seals. When they fail it can cause catastrophic flooding. They depend on water flowing to the gland from a running engine. The dead engine obviously isn’t making water flow. A hose with a T could be rigged up to temporarily provide water to the windmilling shaft. When these shaft seals have a catastrophic failure, the action taken is to stop all movement and open up a response kit that has strip of rubber to wrap around the leak and an immobilizer device. That device can be a pipe wrench or a custom bracket specific to that ship. This yacht appears to have an incredibly difficult to access shaft seal. A better access would have been nice however huge bilge pumps would be highly advisable. I will not own a boat with dripless shaft seals. A traditional packing shaft seal with Gore Tex packing may need adjustment every few years but last a long long time and not have as severe failure.
Well, it's not completely new. This one has nearly double the hours of any of her sister ships so in a bit of uncharted territory when it comes to some things.
Either I missed it or you didn’t tell us how did the port shift get damaged? Did you run over one one of your lines? Did you run over a crab pot? What happened to the port that the safety bolts had to snap off? You must’ve run over something? 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
V S & P B cold sliders does not get it for me, so untried, it will remain in for survival mode only for my hopefully not future trial. Thanks anyway for the culinary pro tip but as stated I'm going to pass. Ray
You kept performing the “Valsalva Maneuver” when you were under water. Did you happen to have ear problems, or ear surgery when you were younger??? #curiosminds
It's deep enough, after just 6 ft of water pressure (my height) you will likely experience discomfort. The more pressure that builds up the harder to clear. Coming from someone who had an ear surgery as a kid. 22 now and diving without issue.
can you share, ball range what the owner paid to have you and your friend do the entire trip. is it a daily cost and how much?n The care of the boat you and your friend acted was really cool to see. The taping at the end as well. If I owned that huge asset and it was in the care of you two, I would sleep at night and give you both a M Fo tip!
The master captain, Joe, works on the boat full time so is salary and not paid for the specific trip. Myself, I came on specifically for the trip and get paid a day rate. As for how much I got paid, I'll keep that private, but it's probably not as much as you'd expect. Well thank you for that comment. It's actually a bit of a fun challenge to see how well you can take care of the boat. How did that famous saying go? "Now, the way it works shipboard is, you do your job. You do it good, you get a better job. Maybe you get promoted from swab to mate." Captain Ron
Lol I hear ya Max. I guess when cruising for such long hours, you just try to get comfortable as best you can. As you can tell, the area around the helm is still beautiful so it's certainly not being damaged.
@@TripSmith Dude, I could watch this stuff all day. Great content capturing your adventure. That’s what it all about, rolling with the challenges and making it happen. Gorgeous boat, er yacht. Love that Ft Lauderdale shipyard, so many cool yachts. Keep it coming. Oh, I have to go clean up my 20ft lake boat now!

I remember when Trip just started out on rivers with his kayak and now he’s delivering yachts😂

These yacht deliveries are always awesome to watch. I know there's hard work involved but hard work in an awesome environment is hard to beat.
man i’m so impressed with how clean that boat is. i struggle to keep my little 18 foot boat clean i can’t imagine 😅

Was looking forward to seeing this one at Crab Island. Thanks for taking us with you as always Tripp!
Enjoyed the video! Love getting an inside look at this beautiful boat. Thanks!
Absolutely great stuff all around, love seeing and learning through your eyes and the captains! Keep more like these coming!
That was a thoroughly entertaining video. Enjoyed it… Gotta go back and watch part 1 now. Thanks for sharing the experience. 🤙🏾👍🏾
Vienna sausages with peanut butter was not on my Bingo card when clicking on this video. 🤣🤣🤣
Oh so I see you're doing yacht deliveries now. That's awesome. I haven't been around your channel in a while, epic stuff.
Hey Tim! Yea man, doing some different things now. Just loving adventures on the water! Glad you stopped back by.
You should try a Large Dill Pickle Hollowed Out horizontally with a Peppermint Stick in the Center.
Install shaft savers, they break first and are cheaper to replace than the alternative.
West Marine is the Target for Yachts.
Well I currently don't own any boat but I'm hoping I'm going to own possibly a used Pershing Yacht someday
If you buy a Cutwater, let me get that C-Dory!! We can talk about it next week! 🎉🎉🎉

Glad you got to see it! Pretty cool area.....
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!!!
Awesome adventure Trip.
Cant wait for Part 3.
Will we be able to get a part 3 with the outcome of the shaft issue ?
Giant Props to those props!
Haha! You got that right!
Hi Trip, when is part 3 coming ? Cant wait.

BBQ ONES are amazing lol great video thanks for sharing the big yacht with us.
Heck yea! Glad you enjoyed it, thank for the comment.
hickory smoked!
Loved the vid . How did you land this gig .
Hey Trip enjoy the videos. How do I get started doing this type of work?
When you run single engine, do you run the engine a bit harder or same settings?
What watches are you guys wearing?????
Very interesting 👌 from the uk 🇬🇧

Trip was there a Rockadock this year or did the hurricane ruin it? I know it was around the same days it landed......
Now there's some Good people
Trying to do the right thing 👍🏼
surprising a new yacht couldn't complete such a short trip.
Well, it's not completely new. This one has nearly double the hours of any of her sister ships so in a bit of uncharted territory when it comes to some things.
How do you become a skipper on one of these boats?
This is what ben malla needs
Next time use impact take prop off .😅😅
That's what we should have done.... lol
By the way what year is this Yacht????.
Dang they put those crab traps just anywhere.
Yes they sure do.... They were the worst north of the Keys in FL Bay.....
Hmmm , hyd cubby with no drain ?
Great video.
Side note: Is it a sign you watch too much youtube when you recognize non-licenced b-roll music? Asking for a friend.

So why not just remove each prop from the Drives and secure them to the deck????.

So, moral is don't buy one of these boats because they break down alot, I'd be disappointed as an owner spending that much on a boat.
All boats break…you know the saying…flys floats…fornicates….better to rent…
Bust Out Another Thousand
It’s an Italian boat. Lol
They owners need to invest in some cable cutters LOL What a mess!
Cable cutters? Oh, for the lines around the prop?
@@TripSmith correct, I can see where they can come in handy, I can also see how they can destroy props
Do they still have the cabin boats there?
I think I would have tied off the prop to a cleat….
That certainly would have done the job, but possibly at the expense of damage to the fancy paint job ;)
Looking good!
Thanks Bob!
Do they still have the floating cabin boats there as well?
Where abouts Bob? I know there are some all throughout the Keys

Lost interest when confronted with LENGTHY ADDS!!! Pt 1 was great.
Call me old fashioned but sitting with your feet up where hands would go or is a work surface is somewhat disgusting.20:30

How much do you and your boyfriend typically charge to do a 5 day transport for an owner?
Lots of variables, but prices go up if we have to act as a couple. 😂
