    Jari Saario, a firefighter from Espoo, rowed across the Atlantic Ocean on January 23 from Gran Canaria. The nearly 5,000 kilometer journey was completed by hand in a rowing boat. Just last Sunday, Saario celebrated his 51st birthday on the Atlantic Ocean.

    Love this content …nice story telling. What’s the smallest motor yacht you would guess that could take your route across the Atlantic?

    • @fıratgürelli
      @fıratgürelli 4 місяці тому

      Thank you! To reply your question: It entirely depends on the design. But as far as motor vessels go, I think the new Bering Cats (the BC60 for instance) are probably the smallest I would feel safe for such a journey.

    • @fıratgürelli
      @fıratgürelli 4 місяці тому +6

      It depends on the conditions, needless to say. But under relatively favorable conditions, a full tank onboard Papillon gives me around 4500 NM of range

    Wonderful video. I enjoyed your crew. The crossing is too slow for me. 7 knots, 20,000 litres.
    This is a very heavy yacht, though well made. I look forward to your new aluminum cats.
    Perhaps you might also consider a line of sailing cats from above 50 feet.
    4 sailing channels are now making custom aluminum cats. The demand is there and Bering has the manufacturing expertise.
    Kind regards

      We burnt approximately 22.000 liters during the entire crossing, bunkering from different locations. If you take 1.5 usd per liter as an average fuel cost, we are looking at approx. 33.000 USD for the entire crossing. We have detailed videos coming up where I put every cost in numbers. Make sure to stay tuned! :)

    I like the efforts and the basic storytelling, I would really suggest you think about your video shots and what you're trying to tell the story of? Also, if you're going to narrate all of these videos, you should probably think a little bit more about what you want to say so it doesn't feel quite so random? Sometimes what you're saying kind of drifts off and it's better to be really clear about what you're saying and what are you doing and then do multiple takes if you need it. I edited for a fairly big sailing channel and they spent a lot of time really thinking out how much footage they have and then the story that they want to tell. I think this channel could be really interesting and could have a lot more subscribers if you thought about how you want to present your story a little bit more. Good luck.

      This has to be one of the most obnoxious/insensitive comments I have ever read on UA-cam. It's a crew vlog created by crew members on a transatlantic passage. Maybe you should try doing the same before whining about the "poor quality" video editing. Big hats off to the captain and crew for managing to safely accomplish a solo Atlantic crossing while still being able to show the viewers the day to day activities aboard.
