Capt. Paul has an Outstanding Crew. So Professional they can operate Million Dollar charters and still produce UA-cam videos at the same time. Amazing the talent he’s gathered around him and LOON.
Hi Paul, thank you for all your videos! Its been very surreal to watch as my wife and I were part of the original crew on her when she was M/Y Icon!! We lived in Harlingen for over a year before the maiden voyage and the many returns to Icon shipyard, so so so many awesome and hard times on this yacht, I did 13 Atlantic crossings on her and was our first home together when we got married.. as you know 6 years on one boat is a very long time I know that boat indide and out (we were bosun and chief stew), its been so awesome to stumble across your channel after being home now for the past 8 years and now having kids and a very different life, I always and still do appreciate my time on that beautiful yacht and think she still looks just as good, even better than when we were on her!!! How good does she look without satellite domes on tgr top!!!! I use to hate cleaning those things up there!! Hope you finally got on top off the white caulking issues we always had!!!! All the best, thanks again.. Joe #original lead decky!!

No! the channel would continue on a new and larger Loon when they purchase it. This Loon when it sells and goes with different ownership and is renamed... will not have the same value it has currently if the current crew transfers to a 'new Loon'.
Paul, the real reason Loon is a cash-positive charter vessel (a rare bird indeed) is you and the amazing crew you have built, not just the ship herself.

They said in another video that's how they prefer to do it and if they don't sell they may just keep this one another year. Someone else who seemed in the know said it's already sold though.
Fun to see a video that is aimed at a different audience. As a big fan I didn't expect to catch anything I had not seen before. I didn't know your pool had a drop tank! That's super cool function. It's listed on brokerage sites for $47.5m VAT paid with $13m income listed. Seems a good price. Just wonder if the crew are moving with the owner to a new yacht ?
Most likely noises of the generators or other equipment meant they recorded the captain's voice over and mixed it with music after the video recording.
Agreed. Someone forgot during editing this video to lower the volume of the music and/or to raise the volume of Captain Paul. Such things happen, not a big deal but I definitely would replace that part in the video with an corrected audio file.

I agree, that would be helpful. It seems out of left field that this sale was going to happen. I wonder if the owners are feeling the pressure from owning this yacht and the cost of maintaining it. The owners probably wanted to cash out while they can and that is why.
new loon is already close to being completed - paul has mentioned it in several videos previously. they have upsized and sold previous loons as well! part of the business model
Captain Paul has mentioned in videos that Loon upgrades every so often. In fact. this Loon is Loon 2. An earlier, smaller vessel is still sailing around the cruise hotspots. It makes perfect sense to upgrade and update the main working asset of a cruise superyacht business.
Cash positive on a charter yacht is very rare. The crew are phenomenal and make it a great place to be, that's why it does well. If only I had the money, it's a no brainer.
Loon is a fabulous boat, but to make her work to her best, you need a great enthusiastic crew. Loon has that, which means they make her facilities work yo give the guests the best possible holiday experience. Outstanding Loon and crew.
I hope whoever buys loon is able to keep the crew together as they always seem to work well together, have fun and act as a real team. I always love and enjoy watching the videos. If only I were a billionaire, I would purchase the boat and continue the adventures.
I hope you keep making these great videos. Honestly in my longterm investment plan I already have included a weeks trip with the Loon. Love your channel and the crews work. Would love to be your guest one day.
Well, doing the math, it's making about $722k per month. It charters for an average of about $560k per week, so it looks like it's getting a charter about every 3 weeks. Now I would guess it is actually chartering an average of every 2 weeks and the owner is taking it out 2-4 times per year. 20% down, $47m asking, you're looking at about $300k per month to the bank, which leaves $400k to the crew, maintenance, insurance, fees, and a little left for your pocket. So basically, if you have $8m in your pocket, it's a free boat. You could probably buy it with an LLC, then sell it to another LLC you own for $55m, and get your down payment back.
not a bad investment, especially if you're a yacht lover. thow in 1-2 "free" trips for yourself (which you could probably write off as a business expense) and it almost pays for itself 😂
@@nottheone582 There's a couple youtube videos of millionaires who made their millions by doing this. They buy a cheap fishing charter boat, fix it up, charter it, buy another one, then a bigger one, then another bigger one, then start buying yachts. Not a bad life. There was one video of a guy from some eastern European country that came over to Miami 10 years ago with empty pockets and now has a whole fleet of yachts (smaller than this one, but still).
@@VanillaIceCoffee because they're a scale-up. every few years they upsize their vessel to keep up with consumer taste and preferences, also ability to run larger charters=higher fees. customers at this level expect the latest tech, etc. which goes out of date every 5 years or so.
@@VanillaIceCoffee It's probably depreciated out. Maybe the owner wants to get out of the yacht business, who knows. Looking on the yacht trading website, they are full of inventory all of the time with yachts being passed back and forth.

Chartering is as much about crew as it is about yacht. Can we please appreciate how immaculate this vessel is kept. Insane amount of work carried out by tireless crew. The industry is now recognising the vital importance of culture onboard and this Yacht goes to prove it is possible.
I am in shock, so what will happen to the crew? Please be sure to update us on them, if they stay or have to move to another boat. Wish I had the money, I would purchase it right away and keep the same crew.
Sorry Captain Paul the tour of your lovely ship was brilliant but when it came to the Engine room we couldn't really hear you through the music being to loud to understand what you had in there otherwise overall a good sell and look forward to seeing the next one thanks again 👍✌️🙏😊

I hope you keep making these great videos. Honestly in my longterm investment plan I already have included a weeks trip with the Loon. Love your channel and the crews work. Would love to be your guest one day.
A beautiful yacht. Wish I was a multi millionaire. I’d buy her in a heartbeat. I love this channel too
@@warpig3474 you would have to be a billionaire, not a multimillionaire to own loon
There was one video of a guy from some eastern European country that came over to Miami 10 years ago with empty pockets and now has a whole fleet of yachts (smaller than this one, but still).
then why would you sell it then? math aint mathing up
@@VanillaIceCoffee because they're a scale-up. every few years they upsize their vessel to keep up with consumer taste and preferences, also ability to run larger charters=higher fees. customers at this level expect the latest tech, etc. which goes out of date every 5 years or so.
@@VanillaIceCoffee It's probably depreciated out. Maybe the owner wants to get out of the yacht business, who knows. Looking on the yacht trading website, they are full of inventory all of the time with yachts being passed back and forth.
So hope these videos continue an all the crew an captain Paul will stay with Loon or go on to the new Loon absolutely awesome bunch an love ya all. Perfect team ,wishing you all the best for the future and hope you all have a wonderful time on the new Loon take care . How did Loon get her name ? Xxx ❤

Can’t wait to see the new one coming if she is for sale 😅😮
Nooo, Guys i just hope its more charter and Loon vids on the horizon.. i love your channel and look forward to seeing where your at with your team Captain Paul… watching from N.Ire 😢
Great tour. Never seen these parts of the yacht before. Is the owners cabin used on charters or kept for the owner visits.
Sorry Captain Paul the tour of your lovely ship was brilliant but when it came to the Engine room we couldn't really hear you through the music being to loud to understand what you had in there otherwise overall a good sell and look forward to seeing the next one thanks again 👍✌️🙏😊
i remember on one of your crossings we got to see inside Loon but never saw anything about the master floor, that is INSANE!!
As stressful this sale must be to the crew, one could not imagine. One would hope that the new owner would not interfere with what has been working well for some time. Best wishes to all members of the crew in your futures. My hope is that we will soon be blessed with new videos from this fine crew of this fine ship.
No doubt most if not all of the crew will be going to the new Loon, the same way they came with Paul from Loon 180.
Did I miss the part about the garage? To me that’s the wildest part of Loon.
Paul - say it isn't so! Thoroughly enjoy the channel and the ship. Ports of call are very interesting as is the rest of the content. Hopefully, this continues with the new owner or with you if you move on.
It does
My days she is beautiful and well though though. And spacious. Hope new owners will consider keeping the crew.
It's a lovely boat, but it's this crew that makes this boat profitable. Great video and presentation. 🇦🇺 🦘 😊
