Nice to meet you at NEC Chris, glad you liked the wolseley 1500 and thanks for the pen. Gentlemen in real life too aswell as on camera. Keep the good work up lads.
Put it for 55k, lots of people said the same, you are selling it far too cheap it’ll go to a trader who will resell it quickly, you did all that work you deserve more
A nearly new BMW with no warranty isn't quite as desirable...great cars but as this video proves very expensive to work especially if you're not in the trade. Any "straight" car for sale will still be in manufacturer warranty this obviously won't be it's been crashed and been stood so long it missed a service on time. So formerly damaged and with the opportunity for it to take your pants down if anything goes wrong.
There’s a lot of people commenting on here who obviously have no clue on car valuations, saying it’s worth £55k, it isn’t , you can buy a non cat one for that. £50k is all it’s money and chris and rob know that, they want to shift it quickly as they can, so any more than that is unrealistic.
Used prices are currently falling at a far higher rate than we've seen for a couple of years so wise not to be greedy on the price. Great series guys thank you!
This speaks volumes about your confidence to take the risk on high value projects, get them repaired as they should be then move them on at a more than reasonable price for the car.
You did a fantastic job Chris and Rob! Such a stunning car wish I had 50 grand lying around. By-the-way the car tax is £165 a year, but there is an additional £400 a year added because it is classified as a luxury car because it has a retail price of over 40k when new .
Superb series of videos on this unique car. You confused viewers in part 1 by kidding that you bought it for 15k, but you made it clear that 30k was the actual price.
Another profitable winner, taking a chance on this expensive motorcar. Your skills from Chris' body and structural repair skills to Rob's ability to find parts that fit and at good prices works out well. Insurers are tying to limit their losses, made worse in current times with parts delays, body shops having long times to work on vehicles but works to your advantage.
Rob go into the settings and change the m2 options to keep the traction control on so you can have full power but minus the risk you can also change it from manual because the m button goes to manual but you can change it to auto and have some wicked fun
You guys just keep raising the bar with rebuilds like this - it's a long way from the Fiesta's and 500's you used to repair when I first started watching your channel. I'm not a BMW fan and not keen on the oversized grills they fit on the latest models but have to admit this is an amazing looking car. I don't think you would find a better example at a BMW main dealers - shame its got a cat S label not really deserved now given the standard of repair it has had! Sounds like a hell a of lot of car for the money! Hope Chris enjoyed the NEC Classic car show I went and thought it was great!
Raffle it off guys. I don’t use instagram and don’t have £50k lol but if you raffled it, it gives every person a shot at owning a really well sorted dream car and will more than generate the money you want out the car. You could always donate anything over and above to charity if you didn’t want to reinvest.
(One for the out-takes) 10:29 Rob, "before the shit shield goes in." That's what we like, Down to earth, honest, no nonsense communication that 'we' understand. Followed by a cheeky grin from Chris. Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. I remember one time when Chris said about a car, "it's had a tap, up the arse." Rob quickly corrected that statement to something like, "It's been hit from behind."
Hi Guys, the rubber trim that runs from headlight to headlight you mention in the video was on the car in the Part 1 of this series. you can see it @3:08. Hope you find it rather than having to buy another!
Hello Rob and Chris, well done on finishing the BMW, it looks superb. What a parts bill!. The new buyer will be pleased with all the hard work. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged.
Rob can you tell Chris to put some spacers on that radiator he made in your office, at the top so it’s not so close to the wall, it’s been playing on my mind 😂
I think the bumper on my old cortinas and Granadas were held on by a couple of bolts and regularly used to push non starters down the road to start them. Cars have gone mad now. Love your channel chaps
What a fantastic bargain I wish I could afford it 😃 I think a trip to the nearest BMW workshop to get the car a full health check from them to give to the buyer. Bonus. 😃👍.
I think you guys deserve more profit from the cars you do, your work is top notch and attention to detail is second to none. You should make a bit more for yourselves you deserve it.
I agree totally with you James. Rob and Chris's time at around £60-80 per hour each should be added to the figures before a profit of 20 to 30% is added to give the final price. Buyers would still have a fantastic bargain, a win-win for all. Rob and Chris are two of the nicest guys and deserve all the success in the world!
You asked 'was it worth it?' I say yes it was. It was a bit scary when you first looked at what needed to be done and I think that might be why others walked away. I knew you two could do it justice and return it to 'as new' I had no doubt at all. I have to say it is 'not my cup of tea' but I have really enjoyed the rebuild process . So very well done to you both for taking this one on and thank you Rob and Chris for sharing the journey. It will be a 'nice little earner'! 👍👍
Yeah Rob your very right. The computer needs to know the battery has been replaced. You did replace it with the correct type, a dry cell battery and not a cheap standard lead acid battery. If you have used a lead acid battery the car electronics may not behave correctly and more seriously, potentially dangerous or even fatal. The reason being is that when a lead acid battery is charging it produces hydrogen, which is a poisonous and highly flammable gas. The problem is, that battery is actually inside the car and cannot vent the gases created, thus poisoning the passenger's. Great little series, loved it and love the motor mate. Thumbs way up!!
ive had a shot in one of those .they're an incredible bit of kit. it accelerated just as quick as a sports bike. ..!! great series on this lads .great stuff
It's definitely the most expensive car you've ever done but one of the best at the same time. Even with the parts prices, you've done well so enjoy the fruits of your labour 🙂👍🏻
Yes, all modern BMWs (and Minis) need to have new batteries registered onto the specific vehicle, otherwise alternator output affected and the new battery won’t last as long. Needs to be done through an OBD port reading tool I believe.
It’s a great price for the buyer and Rob and Chris make a decent profit keeping with their philosophy to “leave some in it for the next” unfortunately the tax is going to be high for the first 5 years due to the Above £40,000 charge. My son has the same on his M240i, although the actual tax is reasonable the surcharge is ridiculous! Great job guys… looks amazing!
It's a BMW so I hate it, but well done guys, a supreme job on what is obviously a lovely motor. Can we expect a few more up market vehicles now? Cheers, Bob
Wowzers what a machine, BTW any car with a list price over £40k registered new after 2017 will pay the additional rate VED for 5 years from the start of the second licence . Currently £570 per year 👍
Those M mode buttons on the wheel are configurable, you could just have everything in comfort / assists on and then exhaust valves open for one of them
What a brilliant series and a lovely motor, you are definitely selling it to cheaply £55k all day long. Whilst I applaud your ethos of leaving some for the next person, you deserve a little bit more out of the project.
Get it gone and use the money to get more cars . Ignore the lads saying a bigger price . In business cash flow is more important than waiting for an extra few grand , as you always say Rob.....leave something in it for the next guy. Great work you 2 superstars
Good profit and you have certainly earned it on this one. People say £50k is too cheap but I guess a trader/dealer will buy it and take over the warranty risk, etc.
This is the highest value car you repaired on the channel. I hope you fetch 50k for it and have a well deserved drink out of it,after all the amount of work and effort you put into it.
When you buy a salvage repaired car from these two, what you actually get Is a car that is now built the way it should be...OEM+ and lovingly hand built.
I really do not know how you two have the bottle to invest, as you do, in something so expensive. However, you've done it again. Great! Look forward to the special video.
I do like your principle of leaving 'a bit for the next guy', but (you know what's coming...) that would have been £55k all day, and you'd still have left a bit for the next guy. It was a £30k risk, but a great series, and £8.5k is not to be sniffed at. Aaaand on to the next! 👍
what a cracking job and a Fantastic price, i would give you £50k all day long for that. You guys need to start making a little bit more profit for the amount of work and time you put into these builds.
Nice to meet you at NEC Chris, glad you liked the wolseley 1500 and thanks for the pen.
Gentlemen in real life too aswell as on camera.
Keep the good work up lads.

I sell cat cars, once you get to over £25000 they aren't easy to sell
Trades can't sell category vehicles
@@alicanyazgan
They can sell them, it’s a legal requirement that they advertise it as such, so they tend not to bother.
A nearly new BMW with no warranty isn't quite as desirable...great cars but as this video proves very expensive to work especially if you're not in the trade.

@@leedstown can’t tell em mate, seriously 35k for that if they’re lucky. Plenty of straight ones about for less than 50
Guys the minimum it should be going for is £55k. Your graft and attention to detail is second to none and you deserve it
There’s a lot of people commenting on here who obviously have no clue on car valuations, saying it’s worth £55k, it isn’t , you can buy a non cat one for that.

Thinking the same. Don't be greedy and move it on.
Just an absolute pleasure to spend half an hour in your company, lads. Congratulations on another job well done.

Very pricey to repair but what a car, it looks absolutely stunning, £50k for that car is a steal. You've done a wonderful job with it guy's.

Incredible work Rob and Chris ! I think it maybe under priced at £50k. Fabulous car I love it and fascinating video thank you very much guys !
Looking fantastic boys your giving it away far too cheap people have got to remember the work Chris had Rob puts into these cars.
Man this is the purest channel on here, genuine emotion, lovely gents these two.
Hi Guys, the rubber trim that runs from headlight to headlight you mention in the video was on the car in the Part 1 of this series. you can see it @3:08. Hope you find it rather than having to buy another!
I am now officially addicted to this channel. Well done guys 😎
Every one of your rebuilds has me glued to screen then looking for the next instalment ❤️
Road tax is minimum 600£ for first five years as is over 40k new,you done well, and very well priced at 50k👍
Never greedy as always. Outstanding!
Put it up for £55k. You deserve a bigger profit for the amount of risk and work.
Right on the money, shift it on to a dealer and let them take the risk. Easy in, and easy out. Nice work.
Yet again the excellent workmanship and parts sourcing is second to none, you geezers are a credit to the salvage car industry.
Your work deserves to allow a bigger profit guys…selling yourselves short
I'm inclined to agree with you . A few more big ones would'nt go amiss....
Thought Rob would keep this one, he seems to be in love with it. Beautiful motor!
And me
This has been a brilliant rebuild. The video production and editing is just excellent. Top work as usual from Rob & Chris 👍

be £55k all day
Well done Chris and Rob fixing that car
Great job and video chaps, enjoyed it. Any chance you can put a battery in the workshop clock? Been at 10.04 for weeks now! 🙂
Weeks? Its been broken for five years!
Not a fan of modern BMWs (despite owning 3 older models) but this is once again a superlative repair.

Not my sort of car, but you have done a cracking job on it and you deserve a good profit from it. 👍
What a fabulous car.
Love that you are not greedy, £50k for that car is a steal - if I had the 50 grand.
Great vid lads stunning car, my first thought when you said 50k was surely its a 55k car awesome

Absolutely brilliant guys.. that alignment machine is epic
Hi Rob and Chris, I'm in the process of fixing my nissan navara back up. Do you know any specialist breakers I could use, thanks
Watch a couple rebuild channels on UA-cam and it always amazes me the absolute eye-watering price across all brands just for a headlight.
You have come a long way since you started, always enjoy hands on videos shows true skills well done 😊

You guys are incredible, just like the car you've lovingly rebuilt. I admire your passion for detail in everything you do both here and IRL 🏆
Best one yet guys, just unbelievable!
