I am really impressed with Aidan’s skills, the modern electronic systems on modern vehicles are a nightmare. You could not do this work yourself without a specialist like him. He is well worth his fee.
Worrying about people seeing the trade secrets of his job is the least of his worries , you need to be some sort of an electronics genius to make any sense of it ..I could watch this all day long and still be none the wiser 😂
That's what makes me laugh when the idiots say "they are so easy to steal" , if you gave them Aidan's van and all his tools they still couldn't do it in a month of Sundays! Unfortunately there are people as clever as him but on the other side.

Absolutely brilliant. He deserves every penny he charges, as the amount of equipment he had to buy plus the knowledge he had to learn is outstanding and an essential service to modern car owners. The scary thing is how ridiculously complicated a modern car is filled with computers.

My favourite part is Chris putting the number plates, never seen anyone do it so it’s perfectly square, the amount of cars I see come out of main dealers with wonky plates
Yes, that's a good trick with the tape to keep the margins equal. Definitely going to use that one.
Blue badge and no lettering is for the 'base' model, 2WD. Red badge and letters (eg HSE, Dynamic) is 4WD and toys
Aiden is a bloody genius, lost me with the jargon but can see how much is involved in the programming and what a treat when she ran up, little belter 👌👌
Aiden has done a great job (must have a degree in electronics??) in restoring this car to being a "runner" and is worth his weight in gold!! Always a risk in buying a car in this condition. What a fair price for this car from you both - "someone" is going to really enjoy this car. Best wishes to you both from Lincolnshire.
Aiden speaking my language was so interesting to watch and understand why it is so easy with a little technical know-how to "re-purpose". Scary really we've undone the point of security in the first place. Cracking car and a bargain for someone. A big risk but so glad this paid off for you!!

really great how he showed the dump and then explained the rolling codes,i got into this a few years back with dealing with fiats but stopped as im at the end of my game rather than starting,if i was coming into this game i would be doing exactly what your keyman is doing because its where the money is and also its interesting and the game changes monthly,thank you for this video its was nice to see

getting almost impossible to insure ,that many being nicked unless you pay massive premium,problem getting so bad that land rover may have to arrange are subsidy insurance

He’s a clever guy , top tip turn off keyless sit in the car with the key with driver door open , press light button 3 times and then press unlock and will de activate the keyless entry and then to reverse press lock instead of unlock then won’t be getting stollen again
They don’t all have keyless entry like this one doesn’t have it 👍
Great content, as someone that has made a living from electronics and computer tech for 40 odd years I know it can be difficult soldering or programming modules with someone looking over your shoulder. Well done to yourselves and Aiden for getting this turned round so fast. Mass producing security systems is obviously difficult, this technique of stealing these cars is a bit of a pattern.

Was wondering how the third key was added, I wonder if this car has been serviced somewhere, 3rd key was programmed whilst in their care then car was stolen later on?

I've worked in IT all my career, started programming with Assembler then Cobol, and a hex dump (the thing with all the FF FF FF values in it) is something I've not seen for years; brought back memories :)

He probably is. A couple of hours to do this one at mates rates of £300. Average 5 a day, 6 days a week.....you do the Math. And he's deserves every penny of it.

Dean at the BMW Doctor channel just released a video saying his BMW got stolen and he’s blaming insiders/workers at the car manufacturers for giving away secret information that gave rise to this proliferation of thefts on keyless cars.

Security of anything is only as good as the guy who can reverse engineer it !. If you can entirely remove the key module control board, ‘read’ the data on it, blow the same data back into a new programable memory chip (EEPROM) then it’s not that good security. The keys then get programmed to your new memory chip.

@@sruk I like to pause before you get to the numbers, do a research on line for a comparable car, deduct a guestimate on your spend and see how far I'm out. The best comparable I could find was one at £14995 so yours at £12000 is a bargain.
