Much respect to Lucy and the Reclamet people for allowing the filming. Great thing about this channel is showing all the other businesses that surround the trade.
I worked at Reclamet at the original site when I was 17 (about 28 years ago) My dad ran the tyre bay. No racking in those days it the lowest level of cars were sat on top of 2 welded wheels and the second car precariously perched on top. Had some really good laughs with the small amount of staff we had ( I think it was about 15 staff at the time). It's great to see how well they have done as a company.
The only UK car UA-camrs that I have watched every video. Great channell lads.

these guys are great but theres always going to be cars out there that haven't been repaired properly, saw a video on someone who bought a i20n cat N unknowing that the floor under the boot was held secure with a piece of wood and was bent all out of shape

Wow - breakers yards were rather different when I was using them (1986 - 1996) - so clean & tidy now and in my early days I 😮had to remove parts myself from piled up wrecks. Health & Safety nightmare!

A rubber brush is great for getting hairs up;
You're on the right track with the air gun but try your DA polisher - it'll velcro straight onto the carpet like it's meant to be 😉
For a quick deodrariser, spray with white vinegar and let dry. Once dried, no, it won't smell of vinegar

Haha I read your comment before Rob said it and I wondered what you could be on about! Late trains? Nope, dropped 'aitches! Still at least he called "tie rods" "track rods" like a proper British person for once. Changed it back to "tie rods" Like and American immediately after, but hey it's progress! Listening to Rob talk is quite good entertainment

Good work again. The Reclamet operation is very well organised, a bit different to the 'traditional scrapyards' I visited many times. Apart from the vandalism, the inside of the car was a tip. It never ceases to amaze me how people treat their cars as a dustbin. Cars in scrapyards are bad for this too. Thanks Chris for pointing out that Robs wing mirrors are actually mounted on the doors!! I have a car with actual wing mirrors, a 1969 Morris Oxford Traveller. On previous 60's or 70's cars I had, they were no good for night driving as you got dazzled by cars behind so I removed them and fitted door mirrors!!

Reclamet is somewhat different to the muddy oil soaked breakers when I was three or four ! Walking around with my Dad, spotting Anglia's like Daddies 😁 can still bring the smell to mind ! Have been car mad ever since thanks to my late Dad who I lost in 2020 ! Discovered the channel around that time which helped me through a difficult time as I also had to take voluntary redundancy from my job of 33 years on health grounds in 2021 ! ( played catch up on all the past recordings ) Thanks lads keep up the good work, Will

When I was a kid, knock the wing mirrors on my dad’s Mk2 Cortina and it was a world of pain … an hour of pedantic readjustment until perfect. You knock it … you have to adjust it whilst being shouted at out of the drivers window … that was remote adjustment back then 😂 Scarred childhood
I loved all the Tesco storing bins..
The boxes are end-of-life that we buy before they are broken down for recycling. All the pallets we use for parts are given to us by local businesses as are the cardboard boxes. Ripped cardboard is used as packaging filling. Where possible we recycle bubble wrap but we do have to buy this in to meet demand.
Lucy comes across a valuable asset to the company. Such a helpful person!

Rob have you seen that car carpet cleaning “hack” everyone has been going on about? Cut a toilet brush in half and put it in your drill, then use that to clean all the loose bits in the carpet before using a vacuum… works wonders.
Percussive carpet cleaning! Chris has had some bizarre old ideas that I've seen on this channel, this one wins though! And as always the results are there!

Look into an air diffuser for the compressed air works a treat to displace whatevers lodged in carpets, fabrics and even to just blow something off in a tight space. What an operation they have there lovely turnout on this

Reclmet is just down the road where I live. Great place for parts
Mix 1 part fabric conditioner to 7 parts water. Spray carpets. The fabric conditioner releases the hairs from the carpet and smells nice too.......
I did my national service at sheerness ,my motor bike broke down in Sittingbourne and to push it all the way to the barracks over the old bridge

Sometimes we do repair cars for ourselves - we also have an inhouse body shop Reclamet Repair and Refinish within the warehouse.

A crashed car might be worth (say) a thousand quid but the sum of all the parts might come to as much as ten thousand quid (for instance)..

You can get those nylon brushes (like a bog brush) that go in a drill and lift dirt and dog hair really quickly. And a touch of Febreze would freshen it up a bit.

Hi guys! I used to work for a Renault main dealer and obviously the smart car is a twingo underneath
that colour is a Renault colour, (flame red on the Renaults) and it is a nightmare to match , I’m sure we were told it’s a 3 stage pearl,
the plastic/metal mix on the panels makes it even more noticeable, but that’s definitely normal for these 👍🏻

I'm glad Chis recovered the dosh in the center consul / divider. We put two or three dryer sheets (scented papers for clothes) under each seat to help the interior fragrance. Narragansett Bay
