I think you were fair. It always comes down to comfort level, the buying experience and personal preference. This type of comparison is always difficult because its food which always comes down to the individual. Higher quality of meats vs dollars may not be the preference. Butcher Box makes the selection process easier imo. I really dislike going to restaurants with 189 items on the menu . . . keep it simple. Concentrate on a few items and do them really well (seems to be BB's philosophy).

Awesome review. I am always for services that connect butchers across the land with places that may not have many sources of quality meat. I'm going carnivore and tink I'm going to look into crowd cow as local meat sources are scarce.

Thank you for your great review Michelle! I tried Butcher Box..ordered a box of the grass-fed rib-eyes.They tasted gamey and were a bit stringy. Sooo disappointed :( Also wasn't happy with the fact the steaks were from Australia..I thought I was supporting American farmers? Or am I missing something here? I am trying Crowd Cow now. I like their variety and freedom of choice. It was EASY for me to order $100 worth for the free shipping..shrimp, steak, ribs, ground beef, chicken wings and tenders. I hope this purchase will have a better outcome :)

The only reason why I didn't go with them is because of the simplicity of the order. But in reality, it seems like the quality over at crowd cow is where its at. I had several people ask me why I didn't go the the cow hahhaa. I'm just lazy! Please let me know about your crowd cow experience. I still have meat in my freezer that I need to cook up from there! :)
@@chelleywest OMG!! You were absolutely right about CrowdCow! My entire order is phenomenal! Waygu, Pulled Pork, Ribeyes, Chicken Wings, Shrimp, Pork Ribs,Bacon..everything was delish!! If you have any of these items stashed in your freezer still, you're in for a treat!! My only complaint is their choice of delivery (Fed Ex) which is my area sux swamp water :(

I honestly like both of them for different reasons. Never had an issue with either. They both have excellent customer service. Gotten some awesome cuts from crowd cow for the holidays.

Free range just means they are allowed access to the outdoors for 30min a day however if they don't want to go out then they don't have to. I suppose it's better than no access but not much. Pasture raised is what you really want where they eat what nature intended and roam outside all day! Same for the eggs!

They seem cool but I just did a cost analysis. I added stuff to Crowd Cow and the total was $213. I ordered the same cuts (all grass-fed and finished) from a local store and it was $112. So it's not like it's $20-40 more to use these services, it's DOUBLE.
I can get a quarter of a cow from a local butcher 8 miles up the road for almost the price of the Crowd Cow box. *shrug*
Totally! i actually stopped using butcher box because i felt like to cuts of meat quality were going out the window. Im getting way better cuts of meat from my local Shop Right. I just make sure that its grass fed. I would love to find a local butcher because thats were your gunna get the good stuff!

There are SO many farms and stuff out here.
Check in your state if there is one of those websites where you can by beef from local farmers. It's like a co-op thing. They have one here in colorado but I don't remember the name. If I think of it or find it I'll send a comment.

The reason crowd cow is better is simply the quality. Pastured raised is the healthiest meat you can eat. Free range and cage free literally means nothing.. it’s marketing. And for that reason alone I use CC. 125 bucks a month and I get 10lbs of pasture raised chicken breast and 5 pounds of pasture raised ground beef.

When you say Organ, I’m assuming you mean Organic? I hope that’s what you mean. Crowd cow i know does. But you have to search for is specifically. As far as butcher box, I’d have to dig deeper, but i assumes that yes, all of their meat is certified organic. But don’t take my word for it. 😅
@@chelleywest no, organ as in heart, kidney, liver, etc. Preferably beef.

I tried butcher box and after 10 day waiting on my meat to arrive, they contacted me and gave me a refund. They shipped by FedEx, and FedEx is unreliable in my area. We asked them to reship by ups but they said that fed ex was the shipper to my area and refused. I wouldn't bother with them. They would not work with us.

Your prices for Crowd Cow are very outdated. They became very expensive and have very limited choice of meat, mostly super expensive Wagyu beef
