I feel like Omaha steaks pushes all the cheaper stuff on you. My dad buys me a combo pack for my birthday every year and it’s 90 percent not beef. Chicken breast, pork chop hot dogs etc. those have very little value and don’t need to be ordered through mail. But I don’t like complaining as my dad is so proud to send me it every year. 🤷♀️ I just feel bad I think he is getting ripped off
I work for Omaha steaks and I can tell you that none of our products are “cheap”. You are able to send just steaks which I would recommend in your situation so your father isn’t getting “ripped off” however I do appreciate his purchase!
I just don't get the frozen meat thing. Frozen chicken is fine but frozen pork and beef isn't the same as cooking it fresh. The bite, the chew, the flavor is not as good when the meat's been frozen. I would have to say the Omaha meat looked of a higher quality than the other brand. I do like the idea of getting side items but I think they are way over priced. I don't like boneless pork chips they dry out too quickly. Frozen hamburgers are convenient for sure but yuck, they're tough and not what I'd call juicy. You have to cook them from frozen because if you let them thaw out they kind of fall apart in the pan or on the grill.
The rib eyes do not look like they were fresh when frozen. They have some oddly shaped steaks that I've never heard of before. How is this meat after it's thawed out? You know, I'm not crazy about grass fed beef. I think corn fed beef has a richer flavor. When I'm on a farm the cows sure do seem to enjoy eating corn. I think they like it more than they do grass. They have to eat a huge amount of grass because it's not as nutritional. Ive seen cows eating grass in the field but it's more like they're just nibbling on it like an appetizer. I don't know if the grass fed thing is all it's cracked up to be?
What’s the price per pound for grass fed Angus beef from Butcher Box? I’ve been watching videos of people buying 1/2 cow or quarter cow. It comes out to $5.80/pound -$7.50/pound. That’s the cost including meat, butcher, and packaging.
@@FreeRangeFisherman thanks. I went online and turned my Butcherbox subscription back on. It’s been off for a couple years. It is very convenient and quality meats.
*_No matter how you slice the meat Pound for pound Butcher Box is the best value. Unless eating desert is more important to you than eating good quality meat. I've ordered both But when you order from Butcher Box you get more Lbs. of meat than Omaha Steaks and more choices of cuts to chose from. I originally chose a six week subscription but quickly changed that to a monthly and if I choose to I can pause the subscription or change it anyway I choose. Next month I'm going to start ordering the big box And change the subscription to every eight weeks. That will give me my overall best value. No way am I ever buying garbage meat that mostly Comes from Mexico that ultimately ends up in our supermarkets anymore. God only knows what's in the Beef !!!_*
I've never had either but the Omaha steaks looked to be a higher quality? From what I understand you don't have to order side items from Omaha you can order just the meat. I'm sorry but I think I could buy fresh meat from my local meat market for less money and never been frozen meat is always going to taste better than frozen meat. I'm used to paying less for frozen meat, not more. Nope this doesn't make any sense to me at all.
@@lennybuttz2162 I don't think you do have an understanding. You don't have to order side items from butcher box and while you can buy meat cheaper at your local supermarket, it's not gonna be the same quality. 95% comes from Mexico and you don't know what's in it. The real expensive stuff that supermarkets sell that supposedly says organic comes pre-packaged by the company was frozen before being delivered to the supermarket and put out for sale. While the quality of Omaha Steaks is good they are not of higher quality plus they are more than double the price of Butcher Box and they don't have anywhere near the variety most people are looking for.
@@bartnash9084 I said my local meat market not Walmart or Piggly Wiggly. I know exactly where the meat comes from that is sold at my local meat market. It is locally sourced. My meat market doesn't butcher animals anymore but they do cut up their own meat, they make their own sausages and bacon and they grind up their own hamburger every day. Some of their meat is more expensive but dang, it's fresh and I know where it came from and that it's safe to eat. If you think frozen meat can compare to meat that is so fresh it was actually alive a few days before you can buy it. I beg to differ.
This year (as in AUG 2024), Omaha Steaks is offering a promotion (This offer expires Sept 28, 2024!) and it's called "A Special Invitation Just For You" for $129.99 .. (regular price $350) for the following meats: THE BUTCHER'S CUT BUNDLE: 4 Butcher cut filet mignons (5oz) 4 Butcher cut sirloin steaks (5oz) 4 boneless pork chops (6oz) 4 chicken breasts (5oz) 4 Gourmet Jumbo beef Franks (3oz) 1 Omaha Steaks Seasoning (3oz) 💥AND 12 FREE Filet Mignon Burgers‼️ All in all, after pricing it out against any grocery store (in this economy 🙄) in Palm Beach County FL, .. THIS IS a great one time deal to take advantage of. This offer expires Sept 28, 2024! I do love Omaha Steaks, as the meats are aged 28 days, melt in your mouth delicious, and a great portion size for a single woman or a couple. They have nice side dishes if you don't want the hassle of cooking sides. And their cheese cake IS awesome! ON A SIDE NOTE: This is a ONE TIME DEAL. I'm also going to try BUTCHER BOX next! My sister has a subscription and she sent me 2 sirloins from PA to FL for me to try, and I must say, they were scrumptious!! Loved the cut, flavor, and size. 😁
this is my next comment on your take on bb as for me a still recommend omaha steaks but i also buy from trader joes which has a great flavor after plus my research on chicgo steaks which might might be the company i buy from including ohama and trader joes plus buying from whole food is very good as well you should try the other ones besides bb.
I've heard good things about trader joes meat. Have you tried their shaved steak? My mom makes steak subs with and loves it. I'll have to check out their meat next time I go!

Here in Florida, Butcher Box pissed me off.. 3 months in a row the Dry Ice melted and my steak wrappings were shredded. So you would thaw it out and then find out the steak was just sitting there exposed and leaking everywhere.
