I just got my first Good Chop box. I ordered Porterhouse steak, rib eye steak, salmon, bacon, and porkchops. Since my family raises poultry I don't order chicken. What I received was freezer burned chicken wings, freezer burned chicken breast, hamburger patties, bacon that is all fat with one thin pink "meat line" and a single pork chop. I canceled immediately and will post negative reviews everywhere possible
You need to ORDER the Grass-fed and then you’ll get that. If you just have them send ANYTHING, you might not get what you want. Read the site.
Why is it that you think because it's not grass fed or finished, you're going to get sick? Do you have some particular allergy? I think you're just way too critical and I do not have a Good Chop subscription or have ever tried them.
I had a subscription which I canceled. Maybe I can give them a shot again down the road.
Grass fed finished on grain is to add the fat that makes it taste good. Unless you have a particular allergy you aren't getting sick. Just overly critical.
I respect your honesty on these product reviews. Subscribed 👍
Thanks KingAFC!
Yes, pigs eat dairy, you can give them your skim milk from the milk separator, the whey leftover from making cheese too
Thanks for the info that’s good to know!
Pigs would not eat dairy on their own in nature. If they're consuming it its because a human fed it to them.
The farm raised fish is probably fed a ton of crustaceans to get the color.
Crazy asf to call that fake beef.. literally can’t even trust ur opinion now. Maybe it’s cat or dog then if its fake, impossible steak
Compared to other boxes, Grass Fed & Finished is what I aim to buy. But this is my option, have you tried the Good Chop steaks/beef?
I haven't tried good chop. But I am currently waiting for our second box order from Good Rancher. Have you done a review on them? My first order had a couple issues. they somewhat resolved them, so I kept the subscription for now. But I'd like to see what your review would be.
Not yet but its on my list.
I'm sure we all here look forward to it.@@TimbosFoodBox
Thanks, review let me know I'm not pretentious enough to order a food box
I was going to order this small box until I seen your review. Yeah I don't like the fact that the packaging is all different some says it's fed some says it's not fed. I'm going to avoid it for now. I was interested. If you have any recommendations of any good sources for me let me know.
Grass Roots Farmers Co-Op, Crowd Cow and Butcherbox have grass fed
does it have the place it came from? maybe able to get more info on it
I will have check out what I have left in the freezer and see if they have these details.
I am currently getting a meat box from another company. and after some digging into there website I found that there beef is grass fed and grain finished. So just when I thought I had found a good source for our meat box deal. I'm now looking elsewhere. I decided to take a look at good chop. I like the flexibility of selecting what goes into each box. and did some reading and watched reviews and felt I had found our new source for our monthly meat and seafood box. Then I dug deeper into the website and even though they state there beef is 100% grass fed.. To my disappointment, I found the exact same wording as I found on another companies webpage that there beef is sourced inside the USA, grass fed and then grain finished.. what a bummer.. So now I'm wondering.. are all these different meat box companies getting there beef from the same sources and we are just picking paying for a name? They also state no antibiotics. But from what I've been reading.. If cattle is grain fed or finished, that means they are taken from a free range environment ( grass fed ) and contained to close quarters, and because of this, cattle is more susceptible to illness , so they are given antibiotics. So what is the real truth here? I'm bummed.
That’s why I love buying from small farms instead of the big meat giants!
@@TimbosFoodBox I haven't located any near by farms in my area yet. But I did look into BB and I ordered a first box because they too offer a custom selection of meats in a custom box. There site and packaging says Grass Fed and Grass Finished which I like. and the price was good along with the portions were much larger than GR. I ordered it wednesday night around 8pm and received friday morning early, with left over dry ice. so stoked about that as well. So for now, I plan to use BB for . I haven't looked in your videos before responding if you did a review on BB. But I will now.
I tried Good Chop "grass fed" beef. It had an off smell and I couldn't eat it. My husband ate it and had diarrhea within an hour. I've been exclusively eating grass fed beef for nearly two decades and what I got from Good Chop was just nauseating.
Same that’s why the dogs got it
you realize that grass feed gives a different flavor profile that not everyone likes right ? actually if you look at the list on their site the non grass fed one is more popular than the grass fed one. it does not mean fake lmao. your entire opinion on good chop is based around being grass fed or not. its fine you like grass fed but not everyone likes gamy meat.
100% flavor if you grew up on store bought beer then yes its hard to make the switch if your taste buds are that sensitive? That’s why they make really great seasonings.
if you like gamy meat that's on you im just telling you their best seller isn't necessarily grass fed so im guessing its not just me@@TimbosFoodBox
American pork is banned in 160 countries in the world , so is what exactly awesome about it ?
Sounds like a good video idea!
First off, dont act like a tool when doing a review. I have a subscription btw. Not all there cuts are grass fed. Clearly stated when selecting your cuts. Pay attention to what you order. My dry ice is still present when I open mine. These things happen. Let them know. Could it have been your fault...based on your review I'd side with goodchop. Are you comparing to fresh from the butcher or your local grocery store? Try not to be so critical. Feed it to the dogs, they deserve it. Maybe try some kale instead. Give us a review on some leafy greens karen.
Know of any good leafy green companies Brandon that you can recommend?
There is no expiration date on each their product.
Appreciate this review. I’m trying to stick to GF/GF beef and line caught fish. You helped me decide NOT to buy a Good Chop box 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Glad I could help
Doesn’t the chicken label say free roam chicken?
The wife ate it and she enjoyed it. I will try them again in a few months and see if anything changes and I will be sure to report back.
@@TimbosFoodBox I got a box of theirs and loved it too. Really good salmon and beef 😌
Didn’t you say that getting the 100% grass-fed beef is a premium option? Then somehow forgot that? And you say you don’t know if the chickens are able to go outside or locked in a cage while the label on your graphic clearly says free-range (which isn’t great). I watched your vid bc I’m considering Good Chop, but it seems like maybe you cancelled because you didn’t pay attention..? I’ll just look at the website myself lol
Update: For prospective consumers…you select the items you want, and it tells you if it’s grass fed, organic, wild, etc. If it doesn’t say grass fed when you select it, it probably won’t say grass fed when you unbox it 😉
I tried this crap.. both omaha and this brand over the holidays. Just go to your local butcher...
Haha, not a fan of those too ether.
Question, why is American raised a good thing????? Our ways of farming are horrendous and nasty compared to many other countries. I guess the source is closer.
While it's true that there are concerns about certain farming practices in the U.S., choosing American-raised grass-fed meat can actually be a positive choice for several reasons. Firstly, grass-fed meat is typically healthier, being leaner and higher in nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids. Additionally, grass-fed farming often means better conditions for the animals, as they're allowed to graze naturally, which is more humane. From an environmental perspective, these farming methods can be more sustainable, promoting land health and biodiversity. Also, buying locally supports American farmers, ensuring fresher products due to shorter transportation distances. And despite some criticisms, it's worth noting that the U.S. does maintain strict regulatory standards for meat production, which helps in ensuring safety and quality.
@@TimbosFoodBoxI prefer new zealand or Australian beef all day
American raised label doesn't necessarily mean American born. The problem is in the transporting of live animals from other countries. Shipping isn't always humane nor regulated. Once in the US their isn't labeling requirements to state where the animal originated. Importing meat from other countries that has been slaughtered, butchered and packaged in that other countries are properly labeled as such.
Companies like Butcher Box source US raised, but don't guarantee they aren't imported animals. Good Chop states their animals are sourced from farms/ranches that birth and raise their animals in US.
Thinking the same , American pork is banned in 160 countries
I appreciate your review but it shows you are very picky about your food. I do not understand how you say you do not want to get sick eating these steaks. I have never had a subscription with them but I do with Butcher Box for a year now but thinking about cancelling because I do not like their beef. The steaks are not tender even though I marinade overnight and they have gristle. I do not mind paying more for good quality but I do not feel like I get that from Butcher Box. I was thinking abut Good Chop and found this review.
Good Chop quality is top tier
If you’re not a fan of ButcherBox check out Crowd Cow’s Waygu ground beef and steaks. Yep, I got too many medical issues. My son wants to see me grow old. Eating “healthy” is one of many things I have changed over the past years. @gettingepic @gettingepicvsg are my medical channels
@@TimbosFoodBox seriously? you have no clue what is healthy, Cut out carbs and sugar not beef.............
@dannyc9784 he's concerned with the quality of his meat when did he say he was abstaining when he said he tries to exclusively eat grass fed meat?
@@domzombie9946 My point is, what you should be concerned about, to become health. Carbs and sugar are the enemy not grass fed, grain finishes ruminant meat.
Great meat, chicken and fish! But Good Chop is very misleading in a number of different areas! You hit it right on the head. You have NO IDEA you are signing up for a monthly subscription. They hit your credit card the day after the “can not change your order” date. Very sad, I enjoyed their steak, chicken and the salmon was delicious. But I am in no way ever using Good Chop again. You also highlight their misleading verbiage as well.
Glad I could help!
It's literally the right on the first page that pops up when you click start an order. It's not misleading you just scrolled to the bottom and didn't read it.
