That's a hell of a beautiful whip. I'm curious why you cut so much off the end when attaching the fall. Do you prefer shorter whips? I like mine in the 14 -16 foot range.
Thanks very much my friend! I cut off whatever is left once I get the braiding to the length I want; there is a lot of variation in how much that is just because of stretch in the leather and because of the nuance of strand sizing. I wouldn't necessarily say I prefer shorter whips, but I do find myself usually in the 4- 6 foot range for 2 handed practice, or generally maybe 5-8 foot for single bull whips.
