Durge: **cursed to kill with a bloodthirst so strong it overrides their entire being, and is always one slip up away from slicing everyone's throats in their sleep** Jaheira: "My mother hen sense is tingling."
Well this cutscene triggers after you travel to worms crossing and you can only recruit minsc in the city. But there's a way to get to the city without having to talk to Gortash, or you can just go straight to recruiting minsc and not long rest in between.
I agree! Good Durge is my favorite playthrough and this was nice to discover. I used a mod to do this, so I'm not sure it's possible to make this scene happen naturally. Some events become unavailable if you progress the main story (and some quests) too much. Edit: typo
@@justanotherignotI got minsc as soon as I got to Act 3 only touched jaheiras QL and snuck in the sewers to avoid the kidnapping it doesn’t mess anything up I had done one long rest though so had already gotten this scene so didn’t know this was possible
@@justanotherignot I think **theoretically** you'd be able to trigger this variation (with Minsc) of this scene naturally, but it'd be difficult. You'd basically have to start act 3 and rush to rescue Minsc all without a long rest, if my knowledge of how this scene triggers is correct. For real. This is why I love Jaheira with all my heart. The guardian we all need, to remind ourselves that we aren't alone. That we can still decide who we want to become.
@@justanotherignot I thought I have but tbh, I could simply have forgotten so now I am not sure if I have her on high approval or not😭 I guess this is what happens if you start 5 runs with different Tavs and only finish up 3 of em till Act 3

This is one of my favorite scenes as a Durge, honestly just whole redeemed Durge run is amazing. Between everyone supporting you and being like ‘we know you will win this fight, you’re my friend and I love you’, between Astarion’s ‘don’t become his’, ‘we will fight this’ and ‘precious little Bhaal-babe’… And then being unable to Jaheira only to find out she KNEW. I agree. Evil run is worth doing once just to see what it's like, but I personally found Good Durge the best playthrough. Good Durge feels like the main character to me, but that's just me.
Fun fact: there is an embrace dark urge cutscene variant where they are more serious and cold cause ya know, ya either killed ya romanced companion or somehow killed isobel without jaheira leaving.
it maked sense when it’s just Jaheira talking to Durge but with Minsc it feels like she is either ignoring Minsc or Minsc is a ghost only Durge can hear & see
I mean, yes, but in fairness, I think its entirely in character for Jaheira to just not react to the weird stuff that Minsc says, and just barrel through on her own points :D.
I have one question. Does this scene usually trigger with the companion you romance? I haven't played a Durge playthrough yet, so that's why I'm asking.
It's a scene specific to Jaheira, as she was a companion in the first two games where you also played a Bhaalspawn. She has experience with them, and so does Minsc.
It has no love interest version of this, no. There's a little bit of romance-y dialogue if Durge confesses to being a Bhaalspawn. I can only confirm that with Karlach, though.
@@nathanfivecoate5848 It'd be nice for any romance, really. People keep saying Astarion is the best romance for Durge, but Shadowheart and Durge both have memory loss, and I like Karlach with Durge, too, since Durge knew Gortash pre-tadpole.
@@justanotherignot Pretty much all early game companions have the same issues. They've all been taken advantage off by highly powerful puppetmasters that manipulated them to their own hands and forced them to do horrible things. They didn't have a choice, or an identity to really call their own before that, but through unforseen circumstances now got their first taste of liberty. Except their immentent death threatens to take it away from them again. They all want to live, both in a sense of survival but also a sense of selfdetermination. That's why everyone fits so well with Dark Urge. Because Durge follows the same structure and therefore compliments all these characters.
