Done the hood after watching your videos, it made a huge difference because I had a noisy engine. The only problem it made road noise from the floor more obvious.... so now I have to do the interior as well........

      Try the wheel liner first.

Just a FYI the trunk and entire rear of the car and top trunk speaker deck. Made the biggest difference on my Tesla. Because of the battery on EVs. So add EVs trunk to the list of good places to do.

The source of noise in the car cabin comes from the floor and front and rear fenders, install asphalt dampeners on these parts and install rockwool as a second layer. Noise problems can be reduced

can you do a video on the wooden acoustic slat panels I keep seeing? curious how they compare to other options you have recorded, esp for a ceiling

Yes, I can definitely do that. One thing to note however that those wooden panels you keep seeing are called sound defusers.

Hi, I have watched a ton of your videos. YOU are awesome! I am trying to create an under stairs doggy panic room to both sound proof and sound deaden from fireworks and thunder (but not spend thousands.) I also need ventilation. And my floofer can't feel like she's in a black box. Please contact me directly. Biggest obstacle- a cafe swing door so she can enter/exit at first sound. (using safety glass for reduced sound- but obviously there's gaps.)

    Lizardskin works better than mats.
Boom mat spray on is ok for small interior frames and parts - NOT for exterior wheel wells!

Just on the butyl mats, you don’t need to cover 100% of most panels. 60% is usually the most effective.
The sound deadening sprays in my experience have been no better than a rubber coating spray like Plasti-Dip or Seal Leak

That’s what I found with the spray, similar to leak seal.

I would stay away from sprays they don't really work as good. Unless its something like lizard skin or other that's odorless.

Which sound dampening mat works better than the others?

      The mat.

@@soundproofguide what I meant to ask is what name brand outperforms the others? There's a lot of manufacturer that claims a lot of stuff but which one actually works?

@@JWbabysharkI'd go with Dynamat or Second Skin. They have the best quality, more expensive but holds up especially in extreme temperature.
