Hello. The heavy mat goes bottom and you put that foam on top of it. The mat block low frequency that’s why you get better bass. The foam target high frequency. For those folks just want to reduce road noise ( tire noise). Remove the fender wheel liner. Put mat and foam on the plastic liner.(facing upward side) Spray rubber underbody armor to liner (facing tire side). Don’t tape any mat to metal surface wheel well or you get serious rusty issue. This should hugely reduce road noise🎉
Hi. Thank you for your advice. Exactly what I was thinking of doing. Wheels wells+engine hood+spare tire chamber. I want maximum bang for least effort/possible damage to interior

The Amazon deadener is the shit. And you are 100% correct it is just as good and cheap and it does what everyother deadener is suppose to do deaden sound and vibrations. I'm glad to see someone reviewed Amazon's sound deadener sheets. Not everything from Amazon is cheap and the prices speak for themselves this product is 100% worth the buy..
The "foum stuff" is sound dampener, while the heavy bytul stuff is vibration dampener. You need both for optimal results. The aluminium covering work as a heat shield. Just so you know.
@@officialWWM yes, an air gap that works as insulation, to stop sound waves from reaching the hard surface, where it would reflect back, but to say they do exactly the same thing is simply wrong. Bytul works to add weight to the light sheet of metal, stopping it from from vibrating. Besides, you normally don't use foam stuff under the carpet, as the carpet itself does the job.
I literally use the stuff on my brothers car in his trunk and what a difference it made the stuff is awesome and they’re cheap . You’re the only one on the Internet that I found that has a review!
The Siless foam is part of a SYSTEM for sound attenuation. Rather than two or three layers of heavy butyl or mass loaded vinyl you put down a layer of butyl then a layer of foam. Does the same job with much less weight. I used the Siless System (80mil butyl & 157mil Closed cell foam)on my Mustang GT and Siless 3 in 1 (210mil on firewall & floors, 50mil butyl on doors, sides & roof) for 3rd Gen Explorer 4x4 (put a Cummins diesel in) and the sound reduction was outstanding. We can have conversations in the Explorer, listen to the stereo or two-way radios with no problem.
@@Ryan.Reeling Yeah, the butyl will help with soundwaves and wind causing vibrations in your car's sheet metal, and the foam will both insulate your interior from heat/cold, and absorb some of the noise from your exhaust that doesn't vibrate your sheet metal but makes it into the cabin as sound.
This deadener is made by DAP. They make roofing materials sold in major hardware stores. Very solid brand, rebranded for amazon basics. But is still a DAP product.
You should use the foam cushioning stuff on top of the amazon sound deadener inside of the door. It will stop resonance noise inside of the door . It should also help out your heater and ac
With the amazon basics stuff, you need to add the black foam to it. The amazon basics is only vibration damping. No heat insulation and no sound _deadening_. If you look at the Siless stuff, for example, it's a 3-in-1 which is why it's thicker.
SIless foam is actually a sound deadener and amazon basic product in vibration deadener, both work the best, you can't just apply one layer and call it a day if you want to get max result
Thanks for the video, looking for an alternative to RAAMmat since they closed the doors. Use that Siless foam! Sound Deadener removes vibrations and then foam over top decouples sound. Think of the foam as a way to remove an echo. It also works great between two parts (think the roof where you put sealant) to eliminate noise from them touching each other. You can also use it behind door speakers to absorb reflections.
Appreciate the explanation bro. I want to ask your opinion. Which type of foam is better to get? Cotton white foam or regular black foam from 3M(3m widely available in my country).
I've got a '92 Ford F350 single cab with the 7.5 gaszilla and I dont think i can begin to explain how loud it is. Going 65 ish down the highway, i have to nearly yell to anyone im riding with, and music on the radio is worse. Have to set it to near full blast just to have decent audible music. Now this is probably due to my door seals being less than present. Once I get the door seals fixed or installed, i'll definitely be getting the mats and foam. Bye-Bye to 2 paychecks! Also, thank you for making a video on this cheaper mat. been shopping around for a while to find a decent price and hoping this wasn't a scam. Thank you!!
Yah sucks did everything but roof with killmat in 2020 Did the 50sq ft stuff was like $48 a box 2 did my car Floors door panels trunk etc was gunna get 1 more for roof and it’s 65$ not terrible but Jesus everything has gone up 50% the last year they want us all to fail bad be broke
Well nice video, but the fact that it compares to the KillaMatt in thickness and sticking on, doesn't mean that it works the same regardless in dampening the noise n audio sound! U haven't rly shown proof yet that ot works
Doing my RSX trunk area right now. This stuff is going down really well! Havent even had to use a heat gun. Just a roller. Cant wait to see how it performs. Only cost $25 too
How did it improve your sound? What do you have far as subs. I have two 12s in my tl and was thinking of getting this and doing the trunk? Any advice is greatly appreciated
Dude most of these comments are so clueless 😭 use that foam (luxury liner) to stop the door plastics from rattling, since it’s thicker, it’ll give the door a super snug fit giving better sound. Sound deadener anywhere else.
Man I thought u were going to show me the meter and spectrum analyzer. :( P.s. seeing it is not what we need, we need to hear the difference. Still thanks for the video.
Quick question would bed liner work for sound dentning you can buy it in a 5 gallon bucket and spray it plus it's way cheaper it's also rubber and could add mesh to make it stronger thanks for your time and reply 🎵🎶👍👌✌️💯🥂

That amazon foam is useless (other than it’s sticky as F**). Wish I would have watched a few videos before applying it in my truck, because it enhanced the outside sounds. I no longer trust Amazon reviews now. Hopping I can use amazon basic on top of that foam on the parts I covered. -thanks.
Someone must have paid you or given it to you. It's garbage. Not even half as thick as they state. My guess is around 30 mil. I'm going to grab my calipers to verify.
