You guys should definitely consult for the next one
I came across from somewhere saying the budget for this film was about $500. All the actors are volunteers. Considering that, this film is outstanding.

@@navajospy2556 they probably either already have it or borrowed it from someone.
Just to answer a few things questioned in this video. the guy in the van said Cognitohazard. which means that whatever sort of anomaly they're dealing with is able to manipulate someone's brain or brain functions. so he's basically betting it's an anomaly that messes with cognitive functions. the threat is ultimately unknown upon initial entry. the intent of the SCP foundation is to secure anomalous entities. they won't move anything from the site unless they know for certain it's safe to do so. the dangers they face aren't always clear cut. a roll of toilet paper could be a nuclear bomb (and yes, that's an actual entity found by the Foundation on the Wiki site.) that's why they didn't touch or interact with the guy who was paralyzed, because they don't know what would happen. so the engagement strategy is to always take things slowly. manipulation of the entities on site could result in the site and Foundation involvement being compromised. so turning on the lights may have angered or alerted any entities that are on the site. they removed their night-vision part way through because they shut down. the operators even say so. "shit! my NODs don't work!"
the reason why these guys are rather stoic about the operation is because this sort of operation is quite sedated in comparison to many other missions. Only two confirmed casualties is rather low in comparison to other missions performed by Foundation MTF (Mobile Task Force) units or events that revolve around the SCP Foundation. For comparison, SCP-096 is an entity that ended up causing a massive slaughter of an entire town and highway. so ultimately the liberties taken in this short film that don't match up with real world military tactics could be argued as something that Foundation would have to do as precautionary measures. After all, the Foundation is always dealing with unknowns, it's they're entire purpose.
Nice explanations
The point of the SCP stuff is geared mostly toward the horror genre anyways. A lot of vets watch this and will only view it from a real world military standpoint, but this is fiction and you don't get fucking ghosts, creatures and paranormal shit in real life lol and obviously with a unit whose job is to deal with special stuff like this, a lot of the rules will change.
welp im not gonna read all that
@@Void-cv2hb smooth Brain
Technically not correct, but close enough about what a cognitohazard is. A cognitohazard is something that is hazardous when *perceived* by a person's senses (or when someone becomes "cognisant" of them, hence the name). Not all cognitohazards affect people's brains, but it's usually the best way to tell the story, by giving someone some sort of unnatural compulsion.

I think SCP stuff makes more sense to SCP fans cuz I understood everything they did but SCP is for everyone it just takes time to get used to
Exactly that’s how I felt about it because when the dude was glitching if the other mobile task force soldiers touch the guy they could’ve started glitching too. And are they trained not to do stuff like that! Plus it would make sense for mobile task force Agent to be trained to not touch glitching human beings, just look at SCP 1730 when something similar happened. The guy ended up getting morph into a wall.
yeah i think they just didn't really understand as much as SCP fans
It also kind of seems like they apply human to human procedures and not human to unhuman procedures like the scp foundation does. Well, not only that but there's also different types of mtfs to deal with different types of anomalies
Thank you! _Yes_, and it's kinda egregious to watch this reactions specially because outsiders can't appreciate it's nuances
Shit is lame.
18:10 they left him because as guessed at the start, it's a cognitohazard meaning that it "glitched" him because he was looking at it. The MTF knows there's no saving him after he's been overtaken like that and if they were to go to him, they'd look at the hazard themselves leaving them in the same place he's at.
Also, things are seeming different than an ordinary cognitohazard like the moving furniture or the way he is glitching seeming like a video game. This means they could be dealing with a reality bender or a cyber. Neither of which their team appears to be specialized in dealing with. Otherwise, they would be augmented from a specialist MTF or even had that team run this op.
Anyways, losing 3 to an unknown SCP like this on a recon, could be considered LIGHT casualties for whatever this turns out to be. If they had broken protocol and brought EVERYTHING back to an SCP base the casualties could grow into the hundreds if not thousands in a matter of minutes depending on how powerful the SCP is.
"The" theory about the whole story is:
-there is a house.
-there is a computer in that house.
-the computer runs a program (yava).
-the program keeps crashing and rebooting.
Basically, the "house" is the result of the program being run. Like a video game, a level/map/etc... is basically code; interactions are code, etc...
But the MTF dudes are not part of the program, and thus "yava" is trying work its way to translate their presence into code so the program can run. Like introducing into a game "something" that is foreign to the game, thus does not translate and/or make sense and thus making the program crash.
It is an "anomaly contained within itself", so to speak, yet somehow permeating into the real world "for some reasons".
For me the house is a program when the MTF came into the house the program detects them and treated them as viruses so their security or something came to kill them.
Isn't this an AI? There's an SCP thats an AI that try's to escape into the internet.

MTF is partially a death squad for SCP
Honstley they are just better equiped D-class personel
A death squad for their own death for what this short show.
The foundation dosen’t really care for casualty’s and these people are more or less trained to have no emotions so they can move on quickly from losses because these anomalies are ether safe or capable of upending every single country

Turn on the lights: you don't know what could happen.
Take the glitching guy back with them: it could be passed on to them and now they are glitching.

Don't hire random Mexicans.
I have no pity
The Reason they aren't just bagging random intel is because of the risk of bringing uncontained anomalous material out and possibly causing a containment breach.
Love Jason drawing the line at ghost ladies - “I’m getting my boys and we’re getting the fuck outta there” 🤣
The reason they didn't bag and tag the stuff is because they have to receive orders to remove anything, otherwise they could potentially bring the sphere of influence of the SCP along with them.
So this is what it looks like when you show some people who don't know about scp.
As much as I enjoy your guy’s reactions, I feel like you misunderstood/underestimate a lot of what the SCP Foundation and their MTF(Mobile Task Force) tend to deal with, and with lack of context of what the SCP does or its many, MANY MTF units probably doesn’t help . Think of it this way: If your buddy is covered with radioactive material or infected with a unknown virus, you wouldn’t fuck with it now would you? That’s why the MTFs leave the guy behind, because there is high risk that shit may go haywire for either the individual bothering to touch him, or even the entire team(because remember they don’t know what the fuck they are dealing with). I think you should watch SCP Explained by Volgun (who is an VA in this and Overlord) for a better understanding of the source material.
Dude, I'm a SCP fan, if you're going to make a movie like this, you need to explain stuff like that otherwise no one's going to know what's going on. Not everyone are nerds like us who spend all day on the internet.
Given the fact they go in unprepared with little knowledge, it’s going to be a crap show. What I hate is that the Intelligence Agency doesn’t seem to exist. Even the GOC operatives of Strike teams are more prepared, due to the the fact they have assessment teams agents determining the parathreats, ROEs, and doing field testing. Not to mention the assessment teams are usually attached with strike teams.
@@cruelmilk4465 Yeah, that seems to be a lore problem. I always found it weird to just send in a hit squad without any intel or research beforehand on what's happening.
@@Supreme_Goldfish what evan royalty could do is one of those cool definitions that explain who they are, or a cool quote. However I think they hid lore because they want that suprise factor

Evan royalty is director or producer for both dollhouse and overlord including some other scp projects, he has also worked with one or more companies/groups to produce short films.
Edit: they can't afford a night vision camera, they're pretending the house is darker then it actually is, give the poor people a break.
it was shit
Exactly. If the house was actually as dark as it is in-universe, we wouldn’t be able to see the movie.
with SCP you don't want to just take stuff with you and leave incase it creates even more SCPs or spread its effects.
Well in this case they feared that the laptop can or already spread out of the house, so they are not going to risk it and infect a large portion of land and people that they are protecting
@@glukhar_agapov9990 But wouldn't copying the files on it also turn the hard drive into a SCP?
@@DatScharger64
Maybe, maybe not. With an unknown object, you never know.
They should make a meme with Jason's face:
*Hold the damn door!!!*
While Patrick yelling behind him:
*But wait, I don't see them flairs in the nods boys..... Get RID of them!!*
So in SCP there's a bunch of different hazards, each hazard is generally unique so basically these guys are first contact with a hazard, they mentioned cognito hazard at the start, that's a something that if you even look at will fuck you up. And then in the house they mention it's a parallax or whatever the so it's constantly expanding and changing so they enter and cleared the kitchen, cleared the kitchen and when they came back there was a new doorway I think. But there's ton of different shit so when 1-6 or whoever got got they don't want to risk whatever happened to him happening to them so they just fucked off after. Their job is to identify whether the anomaly is dangerous or not, some of them are harmless like some dude who just constantly changing time and space to make it feel like he's just living a normal office job life even when in reality he could be in a cell, to super hero type characters, to world ending demons and there cultists.
there job is to stand there and talk about bullshit for 5mins..fixed it for you
@@sgt1terrence No they are gathering information for other Task Forces that are more geared for the hazards that they encountered inside the house.
“Non-Euclidean geometry” means the geometry makes no sense. It’s either larger inside than it appears outside, etc.
I'd recommend watching The Exploring Series's introduction to the SCP Foundation, while it's not related to anything military wise, it would clear up some things. Also, you guys are hilarious, keep up the good shit.
Sensitive Site Exploitation - basically gathering any possible intelligence ie hard drives, documents, phones, etc.
Definitely enjoyed Dollhouse more than Overlord. Felt more tightly knit and controlled than the bigger, and sloppier, action of the second film

@@SAVAGEActual I don’t know if you guys have considered it, but you might find more realistic scenes to react to from Sicario, Zero Dark Thirty, and 6 Days. Love the content btw!🤘
@@rockdacasper I'd love to see a reaction to Sicario.
@@rockdacasper Lone survivor is also fucking great.
Honestly, I think every Military reaction to the SCP stuff pretty much covers the same points. These shorts are cool in concept, but they get a ton wrong in execution. these guys could really benefit from having a bunch of vets go over everything from script to training/acting.
So in essence the SCP foundation is in charge of covertly protecting humanity from Extranormal entities, items, locations, and information. which can range from harmless to apocalyptic.
The Mobile Task Force units we see here are supposed to function as emergency response personnel, to either a known SCP that has breached containment - in which their job is to recontain the SCP and a tactical team would be called in if the SCP itself was know to be hostile itself or hostile actors where in possession of it.
Or to investigate a suspected SCP site - In which case a fully armed tactical unit would only be called in to secure and preliminary investigate the site if the Foundation suspected the SCP was hostile, or there where hostile actors in possession of it, and would require force to secure and/or contain the SCP.
Yes, any unknown SCP represents a significant threat as by it's definition the foundation doesn't know it's capabilities, but they have to have heard of the SCP somehow. At least enough to make an educated guess on what sort of team would be best able to accomplish the mission of preliminary securing the SCP while balancing the threat to their own personnel, the public, and the foundations need for secrecy.
So... In Dollhouse the team's primary job should be to A) Confirm the Presence of an anomaly, and then B) secure the site for further investigation and containment. Rifling though files or messing with the PC on site should not be on the teams agenda - yes perhaps they should bag the lot and hightail it out and let the labcoats look it over - but again since something as innocuous as a glass tumbler or cassette tape can have devastating reality bending powers it could also be a standing practice for teams to not touch anything they don't have to and leave it all in situe for the labcoats to squint at latter, either could be viable options - but the story should make clear what the teams instructions are.
This could also be why they do not attempt to help the casualty, though my god man show some emotion! - for all they know their buddy just had his soul eaten by Eldredge abominations from space, I think I'd be pretty upset and angry to say the least.
Once they find the ghost lady (and certainly after they realise the building itself is bigger on the inside than the outside), I think it would be fair for an experienced SCP Foundation field agent to make a preliminary assessment that, yes, there is an anomaly on site, and they are dealing with a Cogneto hazard (Mind altering) or reality Hazard of unknown power. At this point it would be fair that securing the internal structure may be if not impossible then difficult for a small team - considering some reality hazard SCPs can literally be infinite in size your risking the team getting lost even without any hostile entities on site. So securing any pertinent information and exfiling, putting up a perimeter, and awaiting backup seem like the logical choice.
But we wouldn't have horror movies if people made smart decisions would we, doesn't mean I don't want to see some.
Damn man. This wasn't a homework assignment.
@@SAVAGEActual he just did what the team lead should've done, review all the intel
Well the MTF are the SCP foundation's recon and containment force and what they do is to gather Intel of the area and possibly detain or destroy any anomalous objects. The world of SCP is much different from our world so in the SCP world the team works differently from those who are in the marines. Also marines don't deal with anomalous objects as their job.

You guys watched the Zero Dark Thirty raid scene? That seems interesting to react to.
Here in the Philippines we did a TV series (I'm not gonna say which show) about military people (I'm not gonna say which branch) in the hopes of demystifiying the members of the armed forces. We had real service members as consultants and as actors. They were helpful in providing us every bit of information about the, protocols, the uniforms (how to properly wear them and which insignia goes where), the weapons and equipment, and tactics. It was great working with them. However, for the sake of entertainment, the show turned into a circus. I believe that no matter how many military consultants a show or movie gets it all boils down to the vision of the director.
They turn into circuses no matter the plot.
I’m assuming it was made by FPJ?

Infohazardous threats aren't a joke, learn more about the Foundation before roasting any other fanwork. Also the MTF units may be fully trained for tactical responses but also the first to enter in contact with anomalies and it's important to gather in site all information in a "scientist" way for further research.
A cognito hazard is a anomaly that can be experienced by any of the five senses. They can vary in power and in capability. Some of them can be hazardous and kill people immediately. Others can change how people think, such as a book that can make people think they were always a part of the foundation.
dude the story about the guys breaking into Jason's car has gotta be the best part of the video lmfao

The reason you don't turn on the lights, or move anything, and particularly _remove_ anything in this situation is that this is a situation where you don't know if a fridge magnet is going to act as a grenade pin on the whole situation. Minimal practical interaction is the name of the game. They have no idea if the house is alive, a portal to an alien dimension, perfectly normal, or made of something that will turn hazardous if removed from the property. Likewise, the gentle touch on the door, and not touching an unneeded power swtiches. Even photos might be hazardous to bring outside. This is not the info gathering team. These are the _coal mine canaries_ .
No. D-Classes are the coal mine canaries determining if its instantly fatal to go in.
This is the initial recon and investigation trying to determine how bad they are dealing with minimal information. That's why they had no specialist personnel with them or even replaced with a more specialized team. That said, losing three to not create a containment breach or let whatever get loose is not unreasonable casualties for an MTF

Last summer I had an entire duffel bag of all my old military stuff stolen by some meth heads who stole my parents car. It was things from deployments that I had brought home and stored at my parents house. They put the bag in the car to bring it to me and the car was stolen. It was a lot of stuff from deployments that buddies had given to me. Lots of memories lost.
Get them and break them kneecaps
First guess: search, secure, extract?
And as for the clearing in the other film (SCP: Overlord), one of the things that they talked about in the director commentary was that they abstained from clearing certain rooms because of a time crunch, and it annoyed them (as well as whomever they had as consultation on site, dunno who) that they were leaving entire rooms open. If I recall, the place was rented out from an AirBNB host and some technical things led to a shooting schedule crunch. It was also one of the reasons they ended up doing voice overs in post.
But I remember in particular which room you were talking about that they left exposed on their right flank as they were clearing upstairs, I think near the plastic covered walls.
Sensitive Site Exploitation. Basically grab and bag anything that looks like useful intel, documents, computer equipment, etc.
this spc videos are hillarious!! you guys are the bests!
You should also consider that in the SCP universe there are some messed up stuff. From a sloth that appears in a video recording that leaves people catatonic, to a virus that is spread purely upon looking at it that turns you into a monstrous shark person. As such these guys are not only trained to be jaded to the idea of death all around them. But also it is relatively common for entire Task forces to be eliminated by simply attempting to rescue a injured soldier in the most gruesome ways. Additionally, they entered relatively covertly into a suburban area, they had the lights off in order to avoid alerting any innocent civilians, entities residing inside the home , or even potential extradimensional cults that had purposefully created that scenario in order to lure in the foundation and kill them. (This is more common than you would expect). And finally, even though they have guns it is a well known fact that the vast majority of beings the foundation encounter are in some way shape or form immune to bullets. So the best you can do if you're stuck in the same room with a ghost girl is finish your mission before your inevitable demise.
SSE is Sensitive Sight Exploitation. It's when you grab anything that could have intel from a site before promptly leaving. Not when you sit around chatting with your buddies about what you're finding like in the video.

What you said in the beginning is entirely correct, when squads are sent to investigate SCP reports they have a pretty general vague idea of what the situation is, could be a person just acting strange, or it could be an entity that can literally just destroy the world. re: the contractors that stole from the grandparents… a. Tell the police the $ value of items stolen was thousands of $, makes it a felony & makes them more likely to do their jobs; b. You should have records of who the contractors were, file a lawsuit (small claims court doesn’t even need a lawyer), also bring documentation of cops refusing to do their jobs to the courts, judges love that & sometimes will encourage them to pursue criminal charges
_Talks over and skips the story and information on the reasons people are doing what they are doing_
"Wtf why do they did that, it's dumb"
if your working theory is that the computer is controlling the house in a crazy anomaly, and you turn your back to said anomaly to turn off the computer, it's not stupid, it's your best chance of survival. they even explained why they can't just take it away
"I would have gotten the fuck out." Literally every vet who's reacted to this. No offense but I just find that as a trend with these videos. XD
"They just gonna google that shit."
*FURIOUSLY HITS BACKSPACE*
"the difference between chlamydia and the clap.." INSTANTLY subscribed. This man apparently has some wisdom!
Do you guys ever watched The Raid and The Raid Redemption? Especially 'The Raid' first movie (2011). I'd love to see your reaction about the spec ops operation in that movie. I wonder what will you do, or your opinion, as spec ops vets, if you guys trapped in the building full of gangsters, then acknowledge that you and your whole team basically just used and exploited by corrupt politician. Just like all the characters went thru in the movie. Would you stay loyal to your oath to your country (like Rama) and going stray, or join the gangster to survive (just like Rama's brother and the captain)?
Can you react to Generation Kill? I wanna see if Lilley will cringe at any of the scenes that involve him.
Yes
I will say, the reason everyone is so casual and some of their choices are strange is because these guys are SCP, an organization that is used to things like this. Death. Strangeness. Their buddy down is no surprise, they signed up literally to be expendable.
fun facts about MTF and Agents working in the foundation, some are given amnestic treatment after their missions. This makes it so that they forget the shit they see on their missions.
Loved the honesty and genuine critique you guys gave, I'm sure the guys that make these films would take it constructively and try and improve what they do. these shorts are definitely more about the story and the Anomalies/weird shit going on more than the Tactical accuracy but i agree with you guys that a lot of the dumb shit they do pulls you out of the experience. with some good consultants (like you 2 fine gentlemen) to fix the tactical elements and general boy scout bullshit these films could really be some top tier media.
Really well put.
thing is some of the stuff they do is explained in the lore not just sloppy righting etc
What did they say that was at all constructive?
on the note with them not helpin their buddy, with SCP that kinda stuff is normal and even in lore they would probably be advised to leave him. In the SCP universe your dealing with all kinds of things. not just spooky ghosts. A little toy gun could shoot real bullets, sheet music can kill you, even looking as some SCP's will get you killed.
i love you guy and thank you for your service
"Turn the fucking lights on." 🤣
Doubt that you really care, but "Cardoon" is an actual thing. Cynara cardunculus is an erect perennial herb, commonly known as cardoon or artichoke thistle. Native to southern Europe and North Africa, it has been widely introduced and is recognised as invasive in parts of Australia, the USA, Chile and Argentina.
you should do scp ghost town next, also you should probably have subtitles on for it they were made for the film
You guys are looking through glass tubes. Awesome.
its so funny watching this shit and theres a really tense scene and you just hear Jason or patrick go "turn the fuckin lights on"
