To caveat everything said here. We absolutely loved the film and cant wait to see more. This is one of the best SCP films of all time, but you don't watch veterans reacting to something without them pointing out tactical flaws. That's why you clicked the video in the first place. We can't help ourselves. That's why its called a REACTION. Thank you.

Ok
one thing to note about the foundation and its not an often talked about point but these mtf may not actually be millitary personel. the foundation has repeatedly run into staffing issues with how high their casualty rate is so to adress this the foundation kinda lowers the bar when it comes to the recruiting practices. with some mtf being formed from shady private military groups or sometimes just straight up terorist organizations. even anomalous ones. the foundation is terrifyingly hypocritical when it comes to their mission statement and i love seeing peoples reaction to it being why are they basically sending them into die? because corpses tell you just as much about an anomaly as a living witness.
If Evan could get a whole veteran group to be a MTF unit, I would probably die happy.
That would be the closest we would get to a real MTF squad

The reason why MTF are so slow is simple: who knows what they are fighting, so spreading out could protect them from getting knocked from some Landmine kinda anomaly, plus the scientists back at base need to know as much intel as possible as to what potentially is going on, like say potentially the camera being the trigger to the anomaly.
A lot of that can change when you look at different canons. However the MTF teams are almost always shown as being slow and methodical and reporting anything even slightly off to those back at how. Asking to touch the camera enables the folks back at HQ or wherever to check to see if there is anything that might mention if it has anomalous properties, and even if not, and the dude touches it and suddenly dies, now they know what happened and what not to touch.

So the just in case you dont know much about scp foundation. Epsilon-6 team is usually sent if the area is populated by normal civilians. Just in case a lot of people is in the area they can dump their equipment and blend in. The team thats entering the house is a scout team of sort to assess the situation and help the MTF team thats coming after the scouting is over. The reason why they dont use non lethal force is because theyr objective is to contain the anomoly and eliminate it. The nightvision goggles and gas mask. The gas mask i understand cause they can use any gas to try if it works on the anomoly but they themselves dont get affected. The nods are probably just in case the anomoly can only be seen by nods? So yea nice reaction btw.

Just to add information. Two pistols and two rifles were actually real in some shots so the chrome/silver barrel of the air soft rifles didn’t ruin the effect. The actual Veteran who instructed the people here, wasn’t in the actual video unfortunately. This film had a budget of only $20,000 and they could only shoot some shots once due to that budget limiting props. The comment about one dude not working out, with the Warthog style mask, is OperatorDrewski, a prominent UA-camr who thought it would be fun to do this. After the flashbang went off, the clearing the lower level took the crew almost a full day to rehearse properly with the instructor making sure they did it correctly, and why they would do it. There’s a hole behind the scenes video. The actor on the floor with their neck sliced during filming was unfortunately just laying limp while the other two were yelling at him through their masks to “fight us”. The basement where Scepter-4 shoots himself is the same basement where the crew filmed the debrief.
Just thought it would be fun to add some extra information. Hopefully this was helpful in any way. Keep up the amazing content!
They also shot the whole thing in only 5 days. It’s insane that they were able to produce this high quality of a film, with $20 000 and 5 days.
Why were they yelling at him?
@@JonnieK2006 bc realistically if you get your throat sliced open, you’re not just gonna lay limp. Makes you wonder how much was technical oversight vs "This is how it's done, but save time here and there for people who don't know the difference between a broomstick and an AK74".
I really think a lot of it is this. Like they might have guys there who know there shit but when most of your actors arent trained you gotta cut some corners. A small project like this almost certainly doesnt have the time or money to train like 10 extras in perfect CQB. All things considered I think they did a great job.

One reason they had nvg's was because there's a couple scps that were only able to be seen with thermals or nvg's
By the way, one of the MTF guys was an actual vet that served in Iraq. He played the role of Jansen, the guy with skull face on his gas mask. He also with advising the crew when their military advisor wasn't there. Also, they said they were going to do very realistic tactics but scraped along the way due to things going on while producing the short film, which is a shame of course. Great reaction and it would be cool if you guys actually got to be apart of one of these films in the future.
The reason they mess with what would normally be considered intel is because it's their job, yes. This is a world where cognitohazards exist, something that can be as simple as a few words that melt your brain the instant you look at them. Or in this case, a camera that is capable of viewing something that gives the viewer incomprehensible and permanent pain and seizures. It's better if the MTF discover these first, rather than bring an undetected cognitohazard into a secure research and containment facility.
Something I gotta mention at 39:25, I think your audio when you were listening to it must've been like wayyyy down because about this specific moment the guy who gets his neck slashed is audibly choking horribly and it just sounds awful and yall are like 'for a guy who just got cut in the throat he's not freaking out'. Also earlier Yall never made any mention of the wild cult guy being heard in all their heads which was just a lot too.
The guy playing that role actually had himself choke on water for that audio, I think that's why it sounds so authentic.
They didn’t mix the audio very well in that scene so I don’t really blame the guys for being underwhelmed by it. The music and dialogue really push out the sounds of the guy chocking. Even on pretty high volume it’s still not very audible. I thought the same thing they did when I watched it, it could’ve been done a bit better.

I'm glad you talked about tactics. I'm certainly no door kicker by ANY stretch of the imagination, but even I would question some of the decisions from the MTFs in other stories.
Based on the randomness and vast unpredictability of the SCP's and their lethality, the MTF have to be prepared for anything at any time, that's why they keep walking with guns up and the weird formations and all that, they have to be prepared for potential hostiles, social interactions, cognitive effects caused by the SCP, sensory deprivation, the list goes on.
It's like bringing a swiss army knife that opens into more swiss army knives and finding out you're using it on a kid's shape sorting cube.

Zeta-9 "Mole Rats" are a team specialized at investigating tunnels, caves, and similar things. They also tend to deal with unstable time and similar things.
Mu-13 "Ghostbusters" basically specialize at taking out spectral entities and similar spirit aggressors, typically sentient ones.
Beta-7 "Maz Hatters" are a hazmat team, self explanatory.
Lambda-5 "White Rabbits" are similar to Zeta-9 as they deal with unstable time, gravitational anomalies and dimension hopping.

So for those asking about why they didn't clear the second floor properly, I remember reading a comment on another reaction video to overlord stating that it was because the script had to be changed do to the location having a different layout to what was originally intended. They changed the script but forgot to make it so they cleared all the rooms. I believe originally they were supposed to find the cultist in the room at the end of the hallway, but the rooms were not big enough to fit all the equipment so they had to do it in the hallway, which subsequently made the scene look a bit odd as how are they gonna try and apprehend the cultist and clear the rooms at the same time.

@@BenefactorsBlade wrong, all though they aren’t necessarily THE best, they are still considered “the best of the best”, they handle situations in which certain foundation personnel couldn’t deal with, they are simply “abandoned” if they’re either KIA or MIA, but they are still far from expendable, if so they wouldn’t be rocking that much expensive gear and have all of that training.
While some might be considered that, most are not. The Foundation has a few specialized taskforces for specific tasks or assigned to SCP’s and consist of a limited number of operators. Losing a majority or all of them would be a big fuckup with no real way of replacing them. Also MTF agents would fall under Class E which are not expendable.
@@dutchlogitechclan Class E are agents that have been affected by anomalies, i think you may be getting the different classes wrong
Whenever someone mentions “amnestive treatments” I imagine some random guy just hitting someone on the head with a hammer
Hey man, let me explain something, Gamma-5 is responsable to ensure that Humanity doesn't discovers about the SCP Foundation, they will supervise and tell civilians that its a "gas leak" or some excuse like that to ensure no one gets a picture of it, well basically, foundation stuff being leaked.
Nu-7 are the pew pew units, they carry heavy guns and its basically the foundation army,
Epsilon-6 is a RECONTAINMENT unit, they aren't specialized on pew pew, they just basically focus on containing the anomalies related to Villages, Tribes, since their codename is "Village Idiots"
Thank you for viewing my comment, sorry bout grammar issues, I'm not even american but I wanted to explain how does it works lol
Glad to hear only Americans speak English. There was a time I was dumb enough to think half of Europe, everyone in UK/Ireland/Australia/NZ/80% of Canada spoke English, + half of Africa. Now you've proven me otherwise!
Only Americans speak English!
As for grammar, don't worry about it. Nobody in this comment section has half decent grammar anyways
@@Redditaurus For the first half.. sarcasm, yeah?
for the other half, indeed.
Yeah, I’m not military, but I knew that they have to clear every doorway they see, cause they don’t know what’s behind the door, and it was picking at me.
Wanted to add my input to 23:50. Learned how to clear rooms and passages on naval ships and comms was key. 2 go in a room and split, "Ok left. Ok right. All clear." Wait by door till last then announce "2 coming out". After being acknowledged come out. It creates confidence in the team and keeps everyone informed. Plus scares the shit out of the enemy. I know.
"Your going up against anomalies not guys with guns."
Well get ready for when they get to the house.
The guy who plays the team leader’s voice is the guy who runs the UA-cam channel SCP illustrated
I think you guys would greatly enjoy the Astartes part 1-5 videos on UA-cam. I would like to check out your reactions to that.
so you've probably seen alot of comments like this before but id like to clear some things up, first thing id like to point out is the camera, when they asked for permission to use the camera is becuase they are on site with active anomalies and the camera could have side effects on one of the members. the second is that when they were in the hall way they actually fell down completely by accident and wasnt meant to actually be in the film lol but they kept it in becuase of resources and other reasons. also they are so calm becuase MTF or whatever personnel security division this is, has delt with these situations so much its pretty much a part of their life. i agree some stuff was unnecessary such as stacking at the entrance like that and the flash. another point is in the beginning when they were ready with guns up is becuase an anamolous entity could strike at any time and yes if this was real they probably would have been extensively trained to withstand that amount of weight for long periods of time.
also sorry for such a long comment i was trying to clear some stuff up that i disagreed and agreed with and if you dislike this thats fine but great reaction to the video!
this is the best reaction i've ever seen for this so far holy shit
Much appreciated
Tbh this wasn’t the best reaction, there should’ve been 50% of the film and 50% of their reaction, but in this case the reaction/critique was more than 90%. There is much better reactions like “OriginalHuman” that creator was in the Royal Marines.
SCP-1337 is an example of why you DO NOT wantonly destroy the sites linked to anomalies .
And the thing on his arm was a Alert pad, He tapped the middle then tapped the top right, that sends a signal I'd assume to the rest of the teams pads signaling
contact with an anomalous object.
The actual group had a military consultant that worked with Stephen and the crew.
guy: offs him self
youtube subtitles: " M U S I C"
This could just be called "What would the GOC do in this situation"
You guys reaction on how to proceed is much more similar to GOC than SCP Foundayion
They actually used a variety of airsoft and real guns. They were in full kit with gasmasks for half day during the shoot.
Just a tip, always check for CC. Many long length videos such as these are usually subtitled which makes it so much easier to know what is actually being said in the video. This one in particular also includes the names of the person that is speaking.
Having this film while having breakfast is legendary
*My favourite*
You guys should react to SCP: Dollhouse aswell
The thing I like about this movie most was the flow of the mission as a whole. There was a reasonable briefing to establish why they were going there and a briefing to explain to the viewer that there is a detailed plan in place. They did an offset insertion and walked in rather than fast-roping onto the roof or some such nonsense, there was some TOC running the thing, they had ISR, they had fire support, they had QRF. When they got there, they were there to clear the place, collect SSE and extract.
A lot of movies don't establish a lot of this which, to me, makes everyone look incompetent, and makes it hard for me to accept the basic plot of the movie. There are definitely missions that are badly planned or badly run by incompetent people, but there generally aren't missions where there is no planning process at all, or no C2, or no support elements. I like that we're picking apart tactics, not the basic plot of the movie.
I can't shake the feeling that the MTF unit here is "Village Idiots", I know it's most likely not but what the soldiers are doing would be similar to what they do.
It hurt my eyes when the guy started a door stack ON A GLASS DOOR!!!
Not only that, but the same guy breaks cover to toss a flashbang, at the same door.
Burst out laughing at the Volley Fire wisecrack, if you lads have footage of your SCP:Dollhouse video, I think we'd all really love to see your reactions to that as well.
When they were talking around 14:57 about the formation, they're probably in that for A: coolness factor, and
B: by looking at the blips, they basically have a full firing squad at any attacking angle if they get ambushed
" destroy the house"
*ouroboros liked this idea*
Best movie review ever. Don't get me wrong I love SCP Overlord. I was 13 foxtrot 1 papa from 91-98. Nice to hear young Veterans talk shit. "We had horses when I was in the Cavalry."
Can hear your baby lol.
In the beginning they say that it’s probably all airsoft shit. But in fact, half of the pistols were real and a 4th of the rifles were real.
Plus also he says that the nods were props. While many of them were not. And in fact, the actors necks were strained after the filming and it was a long and painful act, but still fun.
25:30
I would suggest that they're not just talking to each other. Everything they say is being recorded; so, if they walk into a room and suddenly the whole squad is dead, then the one room that wasn't "clear"-ed could be a useful note when you send in the next wave.
Yep. That’s why they ask to use the cam, so if Robert or whoever over there gets permission and looks through the camera and just dies, now you know not to mess with the camera.
" There wasnt a round in that glock" Brother was trying so hard to not say it right away hahaha
The vets probably the dude with the empty rhino mount
23:47 for this house breaching scene they actually had a military advisor, so dont blame them, they never really knew what they were doing when acting this out. They just did what they were told
13:00 that son of a......bravo 9 going light
quick clarification, but the SCP foundation usually avoids killing the anomalies due to the not knowing if it would make the situation worst or not. sometimes when an anomaly is killed/destroyed, they tend to create more of it or cause a different reaction so that's why they try non lethal options first, as a perception.
MTF and most personal fall under Level c. B for important, a are like the heads, D, well you know, and e. People infected by anomaly’s
In a summery A are the administrator and O5. B Are administrative Personnel. C are civil and combative depts and D are Test subjects that are from death/life row or voluntary. E are personnel under medical examination
Everyone loves the briefing, even though most of us don’t know what the acronyms mean 😂
Always like your guys stuff, interesting to learn what these indie movies/shows/whatever get right and wrong as a civilian, I liked the ones you guys did on Tarkov The Raid series. Looking forward to more!
Regarding the critic of tactics >>> it's relevant, because some MTF are specialized in humanoid SCPs. Sure, against.. Say the Yule Man (SCP 4666), it might be "throw the playbook through the window" situation. But other humanoid, I guess it's relevant, especially if facing a non anomalous cult that deals with anomalies.
Drewski... Rip this was just a drewski insult club haha
Im no military but what they did around 27:22 i find to really erk me. They passed several rooms without checking them and immediately went for this one dude. In my opinion if there were more they would down perhaps half or the entire team.
You had me at “ veterans drinking and reacting”
I saw that dudes tinted lenses at dark and was already singing in my head "I wear my sunglasses at night"
