- Cyberpunk 2077 in 2023 is WONDERFUL! Even on last gen consoles. It's a bit rocky on last gen still, but very playable. One new gen/PC this game is a 20/10, but ONLY if you know what type of game you're about to play. If you're expecting some massive sandbox game like GTA, you WILL be disappointed. This isn't GTA 2.0, this is CYBERPUNK! And it is, marvelous. In my opinion, it always has been, but certainly in 2023.

I think the developers deserve an apology from upper management for forcing them to release the game too early. If you’ve played the game, you can tell that the developers were making something truly amazing yet all their hard work has been ripped to shreds as it was all launched unfinished

I would have to politely disagree with your notion that we owe the devs an apology. Nevermind the atrocious glitches and poor optimization. The game was marketed as a deep RPG. The art design is top notch, Night City is incredible, and it has some great characters. Unfortunately the overall experience remains soured by the shitty NPC AI, history of egregious bugs, and shallow RPG mechanics.
I was one of the ones who didn't buy it because of the reviews but I've always had my eye on it. Fast forward 2023, I downloaded the game on my ps5 in July for 19 bucks And I'm completely blown away and so much so that I've purchased phantom Liberty content. I highly recommend you guys give this game a shot because you definitely won't regret it..
I'm sold. I'll buy it after I beat FF16 and Resident Evil 4. Might get through the Witcher games. Beat 1 a few months ago.

Cyberpunk was awesome when it came out. I don't care what the reviews said. It was amazing from day one . I didn't have that many bugs other than it froze on me a couple times. That taught me a lesson about listening to reviews . I played on Xbox one
I’ve played over 700+ hours on last gen (ps4 pro) and your undermining the huge issues that are not only very frequent but also persistent to this day on last gen. Example: it is common to walk into enemy territory, seeing no one just for the missing enemies to spawn right next to you detecting you instantly. Also the rendering of all the objects in the world is so slow that when for example you drive around, all the walls and buildings don’t properly render and look like L.O.D.’s that you’d see only from afar. Then there is the trafik density witch is at best 5 to 6 identical cars on the road at a time and at worst 0 cars (I mean when ur driving yourself) and also while driving no NPC’s are on the sidewalks. Then there is the problem with rendering faces properly (same a with the walls while driving as I explained earlier) . That glitch specifically was heavily memed in 2020/2021 but is still very persistent on old gen. These are just the ones that come to mind but there are far more problems with the old gen versions. Now I do think the programmers deserve an Apoligy because they didn’t set the deadline of 2020, but were actually begging the higher up’s to delay the game. The higher up’s don’t deserve an apology at all. This is my detailing of the last gen experience in 2023 but I know that the pc version is way better now and is a really great game. But it is still not the game we were promised before release. A log of features that were promised are( like for example the lifepaths) shallow and nothing like we were promised or ( like the 1000+ npc’s with day and night cycles) are outright missing from the game. Btw I still even with these flaws and lies we were fed still LOVE❤ cyberpunk and it is one of my most favorite games of all times so I’m nog trying to hate on it. I just don’t want the obvious issues falsehoods and lies being undermined because the game that we got got patched and now runs properly. It is still scummy what cd project red did, and it should not be forgotten. Thx for reading.

I really haven't been finding myself annoyed at all by these things also on last gen. But I totally understand how it could.
Something for new players to note is that you get more open interiors by doing certain gigs the right way. If you light a casino or bar up, you won’t be able to return.
i never gave up on it, after seeing the artbook and the coming updates, i knew it had potential to be great. And now after 2 full playthroughs i can't wait for phantom liberty!

CDPR executives don't deserve an apology, and I don't think anyone ever attacked the developers, game designers, and programmers directly. For one, the game was, and still is on many fronts, a very buggy mess that was also horribly unoptimized for even current gen consoles and high-end pc's. The game constantly crashed, the framerate drops were massive, the terrible collision structure made for janky, rubber-band vehicle animations, and the bugs were ever-present. That is not even considering the horrendous texture bugs and low render distance issues, a further testament to the terrible quality control throughout game development. Another major problem is that current gen consoles like the Xbox series X and PS5 still look ugly and many of the issues aforementioned still persist today. Much of what has been fixed was fixed by modders in the community, something that consoles don't have access to.
The major gripe wasn't even the unpolished, alpha build that the game came in on launch, it was primarily focused on the lies that CDPR executives and higher management promised which were either underdelivered or outright non-existent in the game at launch. A major focus of the game was that the little details, the entire world of Night City would look lived in, yet the actual game is hollow and feels/looks like a city model built in Unreal Engine without much love or care put into it whatsoever. They promised an exciting story where your choices and background matter; the choices almost have zero consequence throughout the story with exception of very scripted moments, and your life path has nothing to do with the main storyline and feels like a marketing gimmick forced in there to advertise the game. They promised complex AI where each individual npc has their own life and you can follow these characters along their daily routes as they commit to life in Night City. Ironically, the AI is probably the most buggy, least polished and dumb AI in the entire game industry. Not even EA could have come up with such an elaborate and downright laughable lie. If the AI isn't following an extremely scripted animation and walking along a clearly defined path set up by the developers, they are either glitching out, T-posing, running into traffic, or they just disappear when you look away from them for a single second. And no they don't have daily activities like they claimed, instead they walk around aimlessly. This only scratches the surface of the many problems and false advertisement that permeates CDPR's Cyberpunk 2077, not least of all their terrible excuse for an "apology" video where they were practically laughing at the state of the game like they weren't responsible for it in the first place. And don't forget that they made their game developers and other staff work an equivalence of 6+ months overtime even though they promised early on that they never rush deadlines and don't force their staff to do overtime work.
I liked the game but please don’t lie about rpg element of the game cuz none of your choices matter on the story you can only choose the ending.
Bro that is just simply not the case in the slightest, what’re you on?😭 I’ve done 4 playthroughs and on countless different missions I’ve been able to choose different things that effect the mission ending. Some have bigger impacts than others but still. And not main story missions either, side missions.
Plus, and RPG element of a game isn’t having choices that affect endings. Rpg elements are things like story, skill trees/character builds and things like that. Not necessarily choices having affects.
@@Jdyo The side missions yeah, but your choices doesn’t have an impact on the story idk what you smoke but for example you can’t save jackie no matter what you do, its a story driven game that only gives you the option to choose dialogues that doesn’t change anything I don’t hate game but also complited every side mission on the map how much cdpr pay you btw?
@@Jdyo There's a small handful of missions that aren't totally linear and offer the player some choice, and about 90% of those are in the very beginning of the game. None of which have any real impact on the world. The vast majority of your choices make 0 difference. This has been proven by players time and time again.
They 100% deserved that blow back after that bold face lie of "it runs surprisingly well on last gen consoles" not everyone has a pc and yes things got exaggerated so is the way of the internet.
I do plan on getting the game and the dlc bundle, for the first time cause to me this is what should have been released the first time around. Instead of trying to maximise profit around Christmas knowing full well the game wasn't ready.
1. They didn't get hate because the game was bad, they got hate because the game was buggy as hell.
2. Certain features weren't included which made the game feel under developed (eg car customisation)... You can customise your character that you can't see but can't customise a vehicle that you can see... Doesn't make sense
3. Don't play the game right now, wait for the dlc to drop because it's accompanying update is going to change fundamental mechanics in the base game
I still remember my only game... that I couldn't deliver one or veg out a mission because there was a truck on top of the NPC. So you can not complete 100% of the game. Very funny.

Tell that to my PS5 copy of the game. Constant glitches (not being able to scan after a cutscene, the heartbeat thing when you're having issues with Johnny never stopping until a relead, crashing pretty much at least once a day) plague my game, and im commited to playing through it, but this is not the game we wanted. This game is still not good from a gameplay perspective. The story is subjective and as such i have no opinion that would matter, but this game plays like trash on modern consoles. I am constantly being sucked out of the immersion by the constant bugs, and while moat arent game breakimg they are massively distracting.

Thank you! I had same thing here, PS5 day one, and it was a mess with glitches fixed, apart from a pretty world the game was dull asf in every aspect, with gunplay that makes borderlands seem smooth.
Yep same experience. No game breaking stuff but constant small bugs that ruin immersion. I do find the gameplay, story atmosphere and everything top notch tho. Although I would definitely not call it a masterpiece.

I had a really bad experience with ps4 version, i dropped it after an hour. But after a few months i bought ps5 and it's one of the best games I ever played. I'm doing right now my 4th playthrough and I'm planning to buy phantom liberty and do it again. I love and loved this game

Every now and then you'll come across people who make videos like this. Ones who ikely started playing the game after seeing the anime (didn't follow the game for 5+ years like the rest) , saw the backlash and didn't understand why people hated the game so much. Then they make videos without doing any research, desperately trying to rectify the game's reputation to validate their own personal feelings about the game.
Played day 1 on PS5 and absolutely loved the game. Damn man gonna have to do another playthrough before Phantom Liberty comes out

I played cyberpunk at launch on my xbox one only thing i had to change were a few settings and it worked perfectly except for a few bugs like getting launched backwards and i absolutely love the game cant wait for the DLC
currently playing and so far, in a cutscene, both my character and jackey were sliding while t-posing without there heads and I keep getting stuck in the ripperdoc part (in the tutorial) because the machine tacking the electronics to my hand won't stop.

I can't ride the roller coaster in Pacifica and there are still visual bugs all over the place. It's still not fixed.
I pre ordered it on ps4. Played it so much on a ps4 pro. I beat it in about a month. I enjoyed everything about it. I did have a few issues however. One of them being that anytime i aimed down my sights, my arms would stretch towards the ground. Oh and the fact that when I beat it, before the final cutscene even ended, my game crashed. And save was gone.
I tried it day I on a high end pc. It was hands down the buggiest AAA game I have ever played. The ironic thing is that alot of the bugs I encountered I saw on other playthroughs. Which meant that the bugs were common enough that the devs had to know about them. I played it for about 25ish hours , and averaged around 1 bug an hour. Not all of them required a restart or reloading an earlier save. But releasing it in that state was super shady.
There was a big push from the shareholders, which was most likely why it got released so soon. No self respecting dev would release something with major bugs willingly.
What GPU did you have?
As an base Xbox one player from day 1 I’ll have to deny some of those claims if it being good enough, it was running 14 frames consistently, the streets were barren, textures were constantly missing, there were giant black textures walls that would appear in the middle of the street, etc
The writing/soundtrack pulled me through the whole campaign and side stories and I loved it but it should never have been released on last gen period
People complain about how the gaming industry going under, but then they celebrate the fact that a game they bought 3 YEARS AGO is playable now. Playable, not good, it's still a buggy mess and looks like something you'd get from an early access game.
And now you want people to apologize to the CDPR for a screw up, which was 110% the fault of CDPR. It's literally the equivalent of apologizing to your girlfriend after SHE cheated on you.

A game shipped broken is still a game shipped broken even if they fix it over time. And its easy to say "well i and people a talk to didnt have too many issues" does not discount everyone elses experiences.
I think they deserve a thank you for sticking with it and not immediately abondoning it when it crashed and burned on landing.
I think they deserve a good job for salavaging a great game from the smoking wreckage.
But publishers and developers NEED to understand that it's not okay to sell a broken mess.

I played the game in Japanese so I could hear Jackie yell "Chingada Madre!" in a Japanese accent. It is everything I could ever ask for and more.
I did love it even on launch on PS4Pro but the Series X experience is totally better. that and the years of updates have made all the difference

Only a few days to live, but you have to skip 24 hours at each clothing vendor to try and get the item you want, very immersive

Well, Spider-Man 2 isn’t out yet so I have no idea how good the game is. If you can find a cheap deal for cyberpunk, buy it and play it now while you’re waiting.
I followed this game and made it past the bombardment and bug stage. Me and a friend share games and I can honestly say that its really fun

Played it on release and it was fucking awesome.
I wouldn't say it delivered on all its promises, but its a fun game nonetheless. With added patches you got to experience a fun and satisfying. But compared to what was advertised, many was disappointed and is hurt by that betrayal. The hate mostly isn't to the game but the to the fact people felt lied to and they tried to hide it which means they knew they lied to everyone.

Updated it and turned it on for the first time since launch today.... yeah all the npcs glitch rgb so 30 minutes later I've got a migraine and it's deleted again. Hate that it was 60 bucks.
i agree. i got cyberpunk a few months after launch but never played until around the time edge runners came out. But i can say that the game is firmly in my top 10 of all time. its just so immersive and fun. cant wait for the dlc and update!
The story is literally a cyberpunk genre staple. I played an snes game in the 90's called Shadowrun. Its a cyberpunk genre rpg. There's literally a portion of the game where you need to disarm your character's cortex bomb or its game over.

That's a really stupid take. Fuck all the launch issues,the lies about content that they clearly never had any intention of putting in the game,plus the piss poor EA level of damage control they attempted.

I played it through GeForce Now on Day 1, back when GeForce Now was still new. 90 hours. I absolutely treasure my original experience, despite consistent oddities with physics and minor walking script issues, and my final boss battle being downright disabled.
But the entire time, I felt like I was being robbed of something. Being robbed of an even bigger experience, one where your choice of Nomad or Streekid actually affected your mid-game. One where you actually get to do things with Jackie for more than 3 hours. Wasn't there a Subway system? But I was so addicted that I didn't even check online to see what people were saying. I just felt this redundant emptiness just by exploring Night City.
That's personally why I was like _"If you bought it, keep it, if you didn't, the game in this state should'nt be $59.99."_ I'm extremely uncool with the idea of Purchasing games that aren't polished and supporting that kind of modern corporate behavior, even if the devs obviously didn't have a choice.
Again, I was lucky to play this through GeForce Now with few bugs, but ON RELEASE, there were REAL problems with the game that go beyond the bugs.
The overreaction happened for a reason i believe. Why would I encourage people to go play a game where all the Jackie missions have been cut out and the final boss is bugged? I Do Not Support Paying for Unpolished Games.

I played on an Xbox 1 s and it was all blurry and grainy.
I started my game on Xbox One, but it genuinely was unplayable for me. I didnt write it off though, i just decided id wait til it was fixed. Its 100% fixed, like i knew it would be.. playing it again and its soooo gooooood
My friend play this and talk about it alot. From what ive seen it does look like a good game. Yeah i remember the flame this game got. I do have a older gen console which i didnt know had problem on. I might give it a try. Thank you for the informative review. 🙏🏽
I was lucky to get in on PC after I watched a YT vid about someone assuming it would perform better on there at launch. I have gone through the game a few times with different paths. And currently trying it out on PS5, gave my PC to my Ma as she got all her stuff hacked. And I bought it again, I listen to the music like Samurai songs and the Run The Jewels song to hype myself when I go back to the game. Also, despite originally myself being one of those who felt cheated by CDPR because they narrated and showed a bunch of stuff that didn't turn out in the game like advertised- I expected very detailed and unique bunch of cars, monorails, car combat and more. Half expected to meet some of the characters in different videos seen before launch. It wasn't to be an exact copy, but I grew to love it. And Phantom Liberty has brought a bunch of hope and hype back for me. Thanks for this video and if you take the time to read my comment, have a good one, Choom! 😁
This game is amazing now, honestly. I'm having a blast.
I have an Xbox Series X and I can honestly say the game is a dream to play now. The graphics is goooooorgeous. I find myself so taken-a-back by how good many of the areas kook... However when I first played the game about 6 months back the game was pretty damn hard to enjoy. I had a bug near the beginning where an enemy mech would clip into an elevator that you use to get away from it. And I saw cars blowing up by themselves and saw three identical people in the same line walking in the same animation. So it was indeed broken. But now it is sublime and well worth money and time 😊

I just started a new character on my ps5. However I was lucky I didn't have many bugs on laungh on my ps4.

If you need a DLC to play a game then it's not a complete game
DLC were supposed to be an expansion not basic core mechanic sold separately for your enjoyment
Like at GTA IV for example, their DLC could basically be a separate game on its own because it's a separate game (separate enough, with its own story, weapons and more)
100% agree, I played this say one release on PS5 and loved it. There were game crashes that were annoying but that was it. There was so much I could tell was sort of missing or rushed but ALL of it was forgivable when taking the entire game as a whole. Night City is just a gorgeous accomplishment of game design. It's unbelievable what they managed to do!

It's better than it was at release for sure... but its also pretty much exactly the same game... so if people are enjoying it now, they would have at release too!

I've played the game on PC during launch on release and it was fine. Just started a new Nomad playthrough and having a blast again.
I wouldn't say it was blown out of proportion at all. I tried to play it on a ps4 pro at launch and it was down right unplayable.

I played from day 1 on Xbox one and didn’t have any bugs
I was one of the players that preordered on last gen and played on day one. I crashed frequently and became one with the bugs. But the story absolutely outweighed the bugs and a lot of people at the time were only playing it for the memes.
The story is fantastic and definitely made me replay the game frequently deapite the issues, and i was absolutely one of those people defending it.
I wish you explained a bit why it's better than it was at launch. The bugs were the tip of the iceberg, the far bigger issues were things like the NPC AI being busted at ever level (driving, behavior, cop spawns), the city barely having any activities in it (couldn't even get an apartment), your character's appearance never showing beyond window reflections (kills the whole point of letting you edit your character), shallow and repetitive design for the majority of quests, and so on. The devs promised the moon, and obviously couldn't deliver.
I got curious about trying the game again, so I've been going through vids to see if any of the actual flaws were fixed, so a video that's at least 80% "guys, the game is good, apologize to the dev, you should've given it a shot, apologize to the dev! it's an amazing game!" isn't really convincing me of anything. Other than the fact that you clearly love the game and feel defensive regarding the criticisms it got. I'm sure the story's decent, but the main appeal was supposed to be an immersive experience in Night City. No offence, but the video isn't very helpful for those on the fence.
Yeah. He just mentions bugs most of the time too. But Basic stuff like car chases, open world interaction, decent Ai for enemies and whatnot are still missing
@@MONTR65 That's the conclusion I came to as well, after looking into the game's state more. Though it seems like they may actually fix some of those issues next patch/expansion. Supposedly, they're reworking most systems, which sounds promising. I will wait till it's out, and watch some vids on the changes before deciding if it's worth the time/money.
@@auronwatson2477 I'd say this upcoming update is probably their chance to actually redeem themselves and the game and make it resemble what was promised. Everything up until now was just the baseline to make the game playable. Nothing that really deserves any crazy praise

I’m sorry but stuff like this is why certain games companies think they can take the piss. I played on ps5 at launch and the game was a buggy mess, last gen I had friends that couldn’t finish. People didn’t blow it out of proportion it just was genuinely a clusterfuck. To make it worse the story was boring compared to the Witcher and gunplay was just about serviceable but not fun.

It was dog shit on my pc at launch and a year later. The glitches made it unplayable for like 2 years for me me. I tried many times bugs keep me from progressing. Maybe now its ok, but then hell no.
I think more people were dissatisfied or disappointed because of how much false promises that didn’t make it into the game
100% I think so too.
Played it on ps4 and had little bugs at all. No mote than any other games ive played. Then i played it on stadia in 4k and i was fully taken with it
It's a totally different game from what was promissed. Aside from all CDPR sins, Cyberpunk is a world AND an RPG system. It was promissed to be a full-fledged RPG open world game, with decision branching like in Witcher 1. It turned out to be just a loot shooter immersive sim. Picking background would have resulted in hugely different gameplay, it turned out to be even less meaningful than in Dragon Age Origins. It would have been the messiah of RPG, turned out to be just quite a good game.
Story is sooooo good and emotional one of the best story’s I ever played to get passed the intro it was 5 hours long and that was just the INTRO
I was in tears after the credit scene....i chose the going to space for treatment (something like that) characters tell about the person and its emotional to think,I'll die realising either ill die or the johnny takes over who forgets who is a different person with my body.
All what he said was true,just the police, they were fucked up, and i played it in my gtx 1660😂 it had a very good story which could be wayy more better. You could see bugs in like a 2 hours of gameplay or sometimes never but u cant unsee the children's,they're adults just super shortened with kids NPC voice
I Played it on series s and it worked perfekt, my Favoriten game since then and i cant wait for Phantom liberty
There are still issues with the game I run into bugs every time I play some that take save reloads and others that are minor there deserve no apology by no stretch
I play cyberpunk and it’s not gta but it’s feels like home after awhile you got abunch stuff to do and explore everything but after all that at the very end cyberpunk 2077 and V are part of you as family
I played cyberpunk on release on a Xbox series x and had no problems my first playthrough. And experienced am amazing game.

Only ever had one issue on the Xbox one X. I got the game on release day. The glitch just sent me flying 500m out of a window I was jumping into. No biggy!
Meh still terrible and not "groundbreaking" like they promised, GTA v with mods is a better rp action adventure game

I played well over 100 hours on ps4 at release.. worst issue was severe pop in and texture loading n some crashing.. aside from that the game was totally playable.. but I will admit once I upgraded to PS5, man, it was like a completely different game and I def wouldn’t recommend playing it on last Gen consoles even now.. but outside of all of the launch bullshit, I think the game itself is a complete masterpiece

Finished it on launch on last gen console(ps4 slim noy even pro😂) like your friend and loved/hated it. The thing that turned me of was the performance. Game rarely run 30 fps and i get it. The engine was waaaaaaay too developed for a console that was almost 10 years old
Shiii I was vibin at launch even with my potato4th gen i5 was a wee bit buggy but still fun as hell they did them project red dirty considering they never left room for doubt
We don't owe the devs any sort of apology. Nor do we owe the company any sort of grovelling boot licking. The game was a shambles, and it's still lacking. It's not the game that was sold to us. It's a third rate shooter with a story tacked on

They got their product to where it should have been when it launched. Good for them, but they deserved every bit of criticism they got. They played the hype game and bragged about their "commitment to quality when they knew they it was a broken game. They sold it anyway.
The fact that they're hyping up phantom liberty and calling unsatisfied customers "bandwagoners" just shows they don't plan on changing anything.
This is the same company that promised to treat their workers "more humanely" (LOL wtf) and then went back on it.
It was bricking PCs and corrupting saves if they played the game they paid for too long. PlayStation and Xbox pulled the game from stores. Lawsuits were filed and settlements were paid. It wasnt just le media™ and le gamers™ ganging up on it dude, thats such a load of crap.
Keep giving them your money and they'll do it again.
Another reason why Cyberpunk did get released too early was due to the several threatening messages the dev team got during the game's time taken to be made. CD Projekt DEFINITELY deserved a well-written apology.
Open world is also fire and if you don’t explore you end up getting beat by everyone
