This is great, my adjusted version is excellent for me-I am just now beginning to learn about diy natural products, and I appreciate the extremely easy and no stress versions you have on your channel. I made this basic wash and adjusted it by adding 2 tblspns of castile soap (diluted Kirk's pure coconut castie bar, whicih I grated 1 bar to 2 cups distilled water) and .1 gm of Germall. I also ground up some oatmeal (Equate old fashioned) and substituted1 tsp of the oatmeal for the baking soda. I came by this idea by simply making up the basic wash and trying out each addition on my hands until I got the feel that worked for me. I added 4 drops of Frankensense oil and wow, I love it. Thanks so much, this is a wonderful base.
This sounds lovely but I'm wondering if washing that coconut oil down the drain every time you wash your face would eventually clog the drain. Have you had any issues with this?
I get this question a lot, especially on my homemade toothpaste recipe which has coconut oil in it. We personally don't have any issues but I am not a plumber sooo I can't say 100%. We use a lot of DIY products with coconut oil and I have never worried about it going down the drain and I haven't seen any issues yet, but to be safe you can rinse over a bowl and dump it outside. I have a few other recipes on my blog not using coconut oil if you rather try that.
Martha Neudorf there is such a small amount in each using it will be scarcely noticeable. Also, in the shower or over the sink..you’ll be rinsing with warm water.
Hi Lura. God bless you 7 your beautiful family! i have a combination btw oily and dry face which one should i use from your recopies? Thank you so much and today i will make your friends recipes both of them ty so much!
coconut oil is not moisturising! it is essentially a wax and very comedogenic. Sugar and baking soda are far to rough for the face and cause micro-abrasions. I recommend a mixture of ground oats and almonds with some essentials oils of your choice. You store it dry and just add water when needed. All-natural and dermatologist approved
bean That is definitely not true. If you use organic cold pressed virgin coconut oil it will benefit your skin depending on your skin type. Oh, you also wanna use a hot towel to loosen up the oil on your face and wipe it away or else you will breakout. It all depends on how you use the coconut oil and if it’s organic cold pressed virgin coconut oil. I’ve been using it for a few months now alone and it has totally eliminated my inflamed acne!!
Baking soda is a good exfoliator and is good for your skin *IF* you use it the right way. Using it everyday will essentially ruin your skin, but twice a week is good! It promotes the production or collagen and it allows the skin to heal those micro abrasions within a day or two depending on your skin type
I use both but personally fractioned coconut oil is my favorite! I have a blog post talking all about the different carrier oils: ouroilyhouse.com/how-to-make-roller-bottles-diluting-essential-oils-for-all-ages/
