Great find. I'd probably pop the body off and completely refurb the frame. As far as the body and interior goes, to start with I would clean it up the best you can. Originality is priceless!! Seeing a survivor car like this is a crowd stopper these days. Restored Corvettes are just another Corvette. You'll save tons of money too keeping it original. Just a thought, good luck!

Sub 100. Look forward to this project. 67 Corvette is the best in my opinion.

I don't know what's worse the guy who took the 427 out and put a 283 in it's place 50 years ago or the guy that's going to put the Ls in it now.

I saw an article on Yahoo News about this Corvette project. I suspected it was going to be a huge channel that I must have missed. I'm subscriber number 72. I'm looking forward to seeing how your project turns out.
I'm hankering to get myself another vintage car to do a restomod on. I have the 58, but she is so close to original I'd hate to swap everything out. I need to have the original engine checked for cracks and to make sure it can be rebuilt. My dad took the heads off the original engine and left the block outside. If it can't be rebuilt I may go the restomod route with the 58. At least the engine and transmission.
I'd still like to find a nice shell, I'm open to just about anything GM at this point. I'd like a vintage daily driver. The Impala was my dad's and I'd like to have my own car to turn it into my vision of what I want it to be.

A lot of the guys on CF regret installing a 6-speed tranny. Many of them find the 6th gear is rarely used or not at all. Might read-up on that. With that being said, Tremek has a new 5 speed tranny (TRX) made to fit most vintage cars without altering the tranny tunnel. It does have a 600 LBFT torque ceiling, so not sure if it can handle a ripping LS, but if you stay below that, you prob can get away w/o cutting the fibreglass! Fun video.... Love the car!

I used to have a 98 trans am ws6 with a 6 speed, didnt regret that one bit lol. Im already cutting into it for the rear tubs, so might as well on the tunnel

I owned a 67 allot like this one. It did have the 427 and was a joy to drive. When you showed the gas cap, I remembered that one does not need to have a key to open this. You can insert a coin on edge into the slot and give it a firm twist. The cap will open as long as the key "lock" is not engaged. So that security is not all that impressive. My 427 was the base 390 HP version and had a terrible habit of breaking valve springs and then bending push rods. The brake calipers were another weak point. Rebuilt calipers with stainless steel inserts were far more reliable. It is almost painful to see how battered this particular example is. My ride had many more extra cost options that I seldom ever saw on another 67. My wife refused to ride with me and one day a fellow approached me with a cash offer and in a moment of terminal stupidity, I sold it. Good luck with your project!

If I had a '67 project like this I'd def go with the LS7. 505hp in a 3100lb car would be just about perfect imho.

i'm envious on your find. There is someone who does sell a 427 crate engine on ebay for 600 hp. I wish I had found this first. I wonder if you would settle for a 396 Chevy bbc 450 hp crate engine on ebay for this project.
