One of the best looking cars I've ever seen.
What the 1965 Mustang should have been!! Badass car, would also love to own one!!
You've done a beautiful job, it's amazing, would be proud to own it!!
Had a 71 1800E as a young man as my daily driver for 3.5 years, loved it and was very reliable. Probably my favorite car to date, I'm 69 now.
I've seen a black with red interior in Britain.
That one is something else. Just beautiful.
Ive always loved the Volvo P1800, but THIS one is gorgeous!!
That is a sweet car... I made an exclamation when I saw this, I am 70 years old and love everything about this piece.
It’s a Beautiful Car.
These cars are severely underrated. Beautiful lines like the Italian sports cars of the time but with one of the most reliable and easy to work on engines ever produced. Love all the modifications on this one. One of a kind car.
Back in the eighties a buddy of mine was torn between buying the P1800 or a Porsche Speedster. He couldn't afford the Speedster and bought the P1800 instead. I named it the Swedster.😁 Yours is absolutely stunning!
Nice name! I made the video for my buddy Ken, check out his channel here with more clips of the Sinner www.youtube.com/@Thesinner1800
@@Rlyon777 Great video too.
Outstanding, true to yourself. Your P 1800 would get my trophy pick.
Never heard of this model, WOW, very sharp, I like the nice changes you made. I also like that you didn’t make chop up a car that should’ve just had a sympathetic restoration instead (thank you) Excellent video quality as well
Thanks for sharing 😊
I grew up on The Saint (Moore) and have always had a soft spot for the 1800. Nicely done!
This car is so sick, well done
damn, I was expecting this vid to have hundreds of thousands of views. fantastic content and production quality!
Seconded!
I am impressed with narration, differing lens elevations, switching stills to motion to spokes-model... impressed.
Robert this turned out great. You really hit it out of the park. Enjoy and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Absolutely stunning.
I think Roger would have approved. Great job. (I used to watch The Saint as a kid, and I wanted to be Roger Moore...)
Amazing interpretation. Thanks for posting!
I'm 74 and fell in love with the P1800 as a teen. Yours is a stunner.
Love it. Your car so do what you like, if others aren’t happy then they can always do their own thing
Beautiful car, well made video. Hope to see more like this!
Gorgeous, only Volvo I ever fell in love with.
Beautiful work 👏
Nice job my dad had one in the sixties. Wish he was still here to see yours.RIP dad .
Nice!! You did a great job with The Sinner!! If this was your first car renovation I'm even more impressed! It turned at beautiful! Greetings from SWEDEN🏴☠
Yes,this was my first. Stay tuned for the next project!
Very nice restoration and upgrades! My uncle had the P1800 wagon. He made a wagon look cool to be in.
You see these from time to time in San Francisco, but this is probably the coolest one I've seen.
I've always loved the P1800 design and shape. IMHO this is the nicest looking one I've ever seen and the "making it yours" modifications reveal your excellent tastes. Very well done Sir! Borrowing from the p-car world, this should be specified proudly as a "P1800 Outlaw". "The Sinner" is a perfect name for it too.
More power to you!!! That's a beautiful car. I've always loved the lines , and black is my favorite color for cars
I’ve always loved this Volvo, outstanding restoration!
I owned 2 1967 P1800S when I was a starving college student. I loved the cars, ever comfortable and reliable.
Badass 1800 S!
This is one of the best cars ever built. The P1800s will only get more valuable every year. They used to put superchargers on 4-cylinder Volvos.
We had a 1960s sedan and wagon. Now you know every inch of that wonderful car because you built it. Wonderful job. I love your car.
I read all of the Saint novels by Leslie Charteris. They started in 1928 with “Meet The Tiget” I’d ride my bike to used book stores to look for them.. I grew up watching Roger Moore in The Saint. My Stepmother owned a 1973 P188 when she married my dad. I’ve loved them since. I WANT this car.
I had a 2008 C30, (kind of a grandchild to the P1800 wagon), for 12 years. It was a great car and I really regret selling it. But those 1800s were beautiful cars! This one is a great restomod! Nice work!
I like what you did with the modifications. I own a 64 1800S driver that is very original , Red over black. Love the styling of these cars! Owning these cars are special in that people just don't see them often. My car always stands out at shows that are filled with all the typical American muscle cars.
You nailed it. I can't think of anything I would change.
The wheels. Tyres at least.
@@PawsleyDirt Ok. The white letters on the tires.
I LOVE THIS CAR.
Back in the late 70's my buddy had a '67. Dark green with a tan interior. That's when I fell in love with the P1800. Love what you've done with yours! Great job! ✌
I love what you did to this car. But then I was always more drawn to sinners that saints! Wonderful aesthetics.
Super sweet car! This model Volvo has always been one of my favorite styled cars..... The color combo is excellent!
a real beauty! authenticity is the word
Love it. The black with red interior, the stance, everything is perfect.
Nice interpretation of a classic. Always loved the show and adored the car. Well done.
I’ve always been a lover of the brick Volvo’s but you’ve just convinced me that the 1800’s have potential - I love everything about this build!
Beautiful car, excellent work, cool build.
Dude! It’s beautiful. My first car was a Volvo. Had 10 at least. P1800 is the most beautiful of them all. Still longing for one. My father always drove Volvo, except when he when to the us in 1937 driving a packard in New York. Love what you have done.
I had a 64, still the most fun I have ever enjoyed in a small, under-the-radar vehicle. Beautiful build! Extra points for sticking to the original powerplant.
It's nice to see something that looks this cool done on a budget and by the owner too. It sits nicely and I like the mods you've done to it.
Very cool car. Equally cool video. Thanks! ❤ When I was in high school, in the late 1960s, the father of a buddy of mine owned one of these. I never got to drive it, but I’ll never forget sitting in it and working the shifter. It was built like a Swiss watch. Unbelievable technical excellence.
An eye catching classic, for sure!
Simple and so stylish. Beautiful
Love it man!
Beautiful! Love black with red interior!
The turquoise color inlayed into the background of the gauges is badazz.
That's original to the car
@@kcirfulI had to repaint one of the gauges. Disassembly is risky w the chrome bevels, but it was worth it. Matched the turquoise and you cannot tell which one is original
What an awesome restomod of the 1800. I have a nearly stock 1800ES but I have some plans for it. This is inspiring.
Here in the UK an iconic white P1800 is the holy grail - because of the connection with The Saint TV series. Unfortunately back in the day the car was not as sporty as it’s looks would suggest and performance wise it was certainly no match for an E Type. However you’ve really nailed it with this car, it’s great. Well done.
The Saint was aired in the U.S. too.
The P1800 has always been one of my favorite cars. The "E" flying brake version was equally attractive.
Nice job on yours, by the way.
That thing is gorgeous. And great camera work.
Quite possibly the best looking car I've ever seen and I've been around
I'm an old guy and remember the P1800 as a real bargain GT, although out of my range. The Saint TV show was based on a series of books in the 1930's and 40's, written by Leslie Charteris. The stick figure "saint" with a halo was always on the book cover. The "sinner" figure is a nice take-off. This is real nice restoration especially for a first timer and for a car of this sort who cares if it gets demerits at an auto show.
beautiful work, excellent wheels choices
Always liked the styling and yes the saint made it cool. Very nice work 👍😎
Beautifully done, if I had one now this is the direction I would want to go with it. My dad had one when I was a very little kid and there are lots of pictures of me pretending to drive it. My passion for cars started with this one at 2 years old.
Love that car and your restomod is excellent! Well done.
That’s a bad ass car and build chief! Some people just can’t identify beauty & craftsmanship if it hit them! Great build and I’d love to do something like this with one. But god only knows wth I can find one!
Great looking car, well done.
Well done car. Love the way you built the car to your liking.
2 of those red blocks are fitted inboard on Italcantieri Bora seacraft boats 120hp each 20foot long built in the 60s those red blocks were the real signature of volvo all up to the 850 models if I'm not mistaken. Your hotrod p1800 is outstanding slick and mean looking, awesome job well built, well done!
Absolutely gorgeous Volvo!!!
That thing is so cool! Nice job.
very nice resto mod. Ty for sharing.
Growing up my step dad had a yellow P1800ES. That huge glass back hatch/window blew my mind and I still think about that car regularly. I truly believe that the P1800 is in the top 5 most beautiful body styles of any car ever made. Right up there with the SL300 Gullwing and the E-Type.
Sooooo awesome looking! Great interior as well!
I used to watch reruns of the The Saint with my dad and I remembered the car and instantly made the connection to the original show. Bravo on The Sinner!
What a great looking car!
Never could imagine a Volvo being like that. You did a beautiful job on it
Such a sweet ride. Well done
Great job i love it
I love this car ! well done, very cool !
What a great restomod! Love it. (From a Volvo fan)
Thanks for watching!
LOVE IT! My first car was a 122s Volvo "Amazon" that was very responsive and exotic in 1972 Missouri. But I was working at the Chrysler assembly plant where they were making muscle cars that couldn't take a corner (and catching hell from co-workers), even tho' I loved the power of a V8. I finally drove a 1800 ES and was terribly disappointed in it's acceleration and body roll. So kept bouncing between Volvo (142, 264, 740turbo, V90, v70) & US cars numerous times, settling on BMWs. After seeing your car and seeing what it could be, I need to revisit my 1800 obsession.
nicely done...very tasteful. The wagon in later years is pretty cool too
Can you tell how much Robert Lyon just LOVES cars? We used to call this car the Batmobile. Still looks great in 2024!
beaautiful car! the 1800 and the amazon were always my favourite "hotrod" volvos...
Sorry but the only thing I can think of is the old B creature movies where the egghead scientist races to the Blob monster in his Amazon.
Real strong work!.You are smarter and more talented than the average bear.
Stunning. Beautiful.
It’s like a tiny little Batmobile! Seriously these were always cool cars that were slightly mysterious to us as you didn’t see many of them. Nice job!
Bravo beautiful restoration and very tasteful modifications.
Well done.
I didn't know it was possible still ...but that car is sexy...elegant , fierce ....but definitely sexy !
Your car looks amazing, great design dude
I love the coupe and the wagon version from the 1st time I saw them as a young kid. I did the same wheels on my '73 240Z but, unfortunately I lost that car in a garage fire just as I was finishing up a restoration on it. That was the sportiest car I ever owned. Glad you were able to pick one of these up before they got too pricey.
Thats a beautiful ride man.
I fell in love with the P1800 in the early 70's, they were a rare car then in Australia. Never forgot them, went with a Borgward Isabella as they were cheaper second hand.
My friend bought one in 1970 it’s was the coolest car out there , an even cooler one is the 1800 ES wagon. Thanks for sharing
whoa ! This is a fantastic piece of work. Looks so planted
Nice P18. I had a black 64. One of the finest cars I ever owned, and I've often wished I'd never sold it.
looks great!
what a beauty❤
Good job, I love it.
One of my all tme favorites!
